I owned Toyotas for over twenty years with Tacoma, Tundra and Corolla and they did very well but not perfect. When I complained to Toyota Corp. they used to be responsive but the last few years they didn't care about the customer. This is the same guy that defended rear drum brakes saying how they were better than discs. Yeah right we'll believe you dude!
He left out the part where it gets a lot easier to pull a blown 4 cylinder with this new layout especially after putting a turbo on it. I have always had Toyotas but with the new turbo 4's they still need a lot of work. Especially for the price they are asking for these things, Toyota has to either bring back the V6 or extend the Warranty or build bigger lot's for the 24's to sit on until they do.
The Tundra engine is a direct fit in this new chassis so if the Turbo 4 doesn’t see good adoption numbers Toyota could stick a detuned 3.4V6 Turbo in there ..
They have a 2024 concept Tacoma called the X Runner that has the Tundras V6
Toyota wants to sell new vehicles. Making reliable, long lasting vehicles is against their “new business model”.
Toyota wants to sell new vehicles every 5 years or less to each consumer.
My 2015 Frontier has boxed frame. In fact the Frontier has always had a boxed frame.
I see that the cat is deep In there, is there gonna be a need for a cat shield for the 2.4 turbo engine?
same as Chevy telling everyone their new turbo4 Colorado engine will be more reliable than the old V6 long term.(don't believe it). Can one company admit they would prefer to make a V6 but due to EPA requirements they didn't.
Time will tell with "long term corrosion protection " First gen had boxed frame and started the tradition of accelerated impermanence , 2nd & 3rd gen had C channel and rusted just as fast. Now back to "thinner boxed & C channel. I am tired of the mandatory fluid film ritual, and at these prices it should not be required, even in Saltshitistan.
Got one of the last 23 V6 and glad I did.
I’d like to see a v6 towing a boat and just rolling at idle ish vs a 4 cylinder turbo revving high to get the same power output.
So long, engine longevity...😠
I love the style but won't buy unless 2025 has a V6. I have a 2011 V6 and I'm used to it. Toyota put a V6 option in it for 2025 👌 please
I think Honda Ridgeline V6 is better buy
But Ridgeline aren't off-road truck. The whole point of a Tacoma for me is off-roading.
Fully boxed frame for toyota job security. Nice.
No V6, no thanks
You weren’t going to buy one anyway and if your serious about a v6 Nissan frontier has a truck for you but I know your just a tire kicker and not going to buy anything
@@ateeqafzal4444 okay, keyboard warrior lol
@@dividendfire855 if you sleep better at night with that comeback and then i guess still doesn’t change the fact of what I said earlier
@@ateeqafzal4444 sure princess, w/e you say.
Somewhat on topic, does anyone know if the new Terra color is exclusive to the TRD Pro? Thanks.
Yes, but it will be available for all TRD trim a year later. But for this year, it only on the Pro. You have a two window period to get the color you want. Though some Pro colors do come back. This is how Gen 3 work, but no information for Gen 4 yet so take my comment with a grain of salt.
And here we are 8 months later and the failures are in full swing
I don’t know did you notice the cv angles on the front of the new chassis the angle is way better on the old one?
Wonder what he has to say about the faulty transmissions and broken shock towers?
the toyota's dealers department are ruining the brand horrible to deal whit
I owned Toyotas for over twenty years with Tacoma, Tundra and Corolla and they did very well but not perfect. When I complained to Toyota Corp. they used to be responsive but the last few years they didn't care about the customer. They have gotten very arogant and I don't know why since the advent of the frame issues, engines issues etc. I looked at the 2024 Tacomas and did not like the new 4 cyl turbo. I looked at all the other midrange pickups and ended up with a Honda Ridgeline with a V6 and two FOBs unlike my 2024 Lexus with only one FOB. I have a four year warranty on the Lexus but when that is up I am done with Toyota. So far I am very happy with my Honda Ridgeline and I don't tow and if I did I would not buy a Tacoma I would get a Tundra to tow anything of any size. IMHO.
They can explain it all day. We all know what their dealer lots look like.
Does the new Tacoma have stop and go technology?
Does this make my 2007 Tacoma 82k miles more valuable now?
Turbo engines fail with less mileage period
Thats y Nissan is better now!! My Titan pro-4x 5.6 V8 will outlast any Toyota!!
Hopefully the turbo is water cooled and people are sensible enough to use a 5W 30 or an extremely hot climate to 5W 40 and change it every 5000 miles or sooner
I hope you Engineers designed this thing with maintenance in mind and extra parts! Not so much for the consumer, but for the dealerships! These trucks will be breaking down and falling to pieces by the thousands.
Toyota Tacoma is doomed. We all know 4 cylinder turbo sukx, inside of a truck. This truck is now best used for pickup up compose and wood chips at home depot.
No matter how they’re trying to make this new Tacoma Turbo looks good, but, it’s not as same as old V6. I always had Tacoma. I was waiting to get the 2024 model but, totally changed my mined. I don’t think many people will go for this screwed up model. It’s not gonna be the best sellers anymore.
Engine downsizing has been a trend for 40+ years now. Global regulation is the driver. I do predict it will sell well though.
@@revmatchtv good luck, I’m not the one buying it. My V6 2006 Tacoma still going fine after 280,000.00 miles.
I dont trust an engineer that calls an engine a "motor", sorry, Toyota, you can do better, attention to details.
Bring back the V6.
Bring back the v6! Stupid 4 banger turbo! I love my 2016 manual v6.
It's all about reability! If the new engine does not live to it, Toyota is in trouble.
Weak engine
You will suffer from high fuel consumption.
A 4 banger👎
Turbos are a bad move for the longevity of the vehicle not why I buy a Toyota.
FACTS!! 4 CYL WAS A HORRIBLE CALL! MORE PARTS, MORE HEAT AND MORE STRESS AND YES MORE MONEY!! MY 2023 IS WORTH IT'S WEIGHT IN GOLD!! NO ONE WITH ANY BRAINS WOULD BUY A 4 CYL AND NOT FOR THE PRICES THEY ARE CHARGING!! TOYOTA HAS LOST IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SAD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will see how durable is your ENGINEERED design. I guess get he extender warranty for this turbo 2.4L with a rubber belt and not a chain. More maintenance cost, lucky mechanical shops to get more income from repairs…
Wow Thanks for This Vídeo For Toyota
I can't wait for GenZ'rs to put cat backs on a 4cyl....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Toyota quality is done
Great thinner frame, my kids TJ frame is rotten, full of mud which hold moisture. Open frames are better for off roading salty roads.
A truck without leaf springs its not a truck. That rear suspension looks weak especially dealing with salt in northern states.
Who made the headline for this video. It says it's going to explain the new engine. The video is not about the engine(s) at all. It's about the frame and suspension. C'mon you guys, get your act together.
4 banger with turbos hybrid nothing but issues
I knew the tacoma looked to western for my taste...
Bro why did he say compact instead of mid-size at 1:52… there hasn’t been a compact from Toyota in NA in decades. The Tacoma has the best selling midsize in America for years. Why would he say compact and not mid-size when talking about the Tacoma… I think this is a Freudian slip and he accidentally revealed a new compact concept based on TNGA-F platform and not a compact on the TNGA-K (RAV4) platform as is being hypothesized online
I fully expect Toyota to release a compact truck to go up against the Maverick within 2 years.
That engineer should be fired immediately. Toyota motor corporation if you’re listening BRING BACK THE V-8 AND THE V-6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The frame v6 putting on 2.4 liter it’s week even have turbos it’s heavier they should make smaller Tacoma like in 2002 they have the v6 and regular 4 cylinder frame is smaller now no good I’ll keep my old taco and my v6 aight buying the new Tacoma 👎
I smell BS from Toyota a mile away because Toyota brought the 2024 Toyota Tacoma X Runner " Concept " to SEMA 2023 and the LA Auto Show. Now, Toyota brought out the 2024 Toyota Tacoma X Runner " Concept " at the 2023 SEMA Auto Show in Vegas but, the same engineer said, " We putted a V6 Toyota Tundra's engine in the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota engineer made for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma can carry a V6 from the Toyota Tundra's in the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Soon or later Toyota will or would bringing back the V6 on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma when the US President changing hand this year. I know what you saying, " It's only a concept and they never putting it into production ".
4 cylinder turbo engine
That guy needs to sit down and talk. He is so out of breathe, its unreal.
Top toyota engineer... Really.
He should get out of the office and a/c more often. Fast food is dragging him down
Just give me a IMV 0...
Frankenstein? Never heard Toyota pull a word from Chrysler. Last time a car company Frankenstein a vehicle together, it was total garbage
This guy is more a salesman than an engineer and not a good one at either IMHO.
Century later we have rear discs. Lol. Turbos are inherently higher maintenance. No EV option? 🤔
Mild hybrid option coming in 2024
Mr swears did a better job with the gen 3
