Indeed. In general, every factory rear diff-lock equipped Toyota I've ever wheeled or seen wheeled went farther than anyone thought it would. I was completely dumbfounded by what my '99 4Runner w/ e-locker would do, coupled with the fact I was willing to risk body hits with it.
It's always nice to have a vehicle you can off-road and not care if it takes a hit. I plan on taking my personal 00' 4Runner there sometime but unfortunately I have no rear locker.
@@yotaxpedition third gens are a good time. I ordered your PRO grille for my 2023 4Runner, looking forward to getting that one on--NOT risking body hits when I wheel that one though!
whats your guys thoughts on the Elka Suspension 0-3" 2.5 IFP Lift Kit? I been looking at this kit but cant find any reviews about this, do u think its better then the King Shocks 2-3" Lift Kit 2.5 Remote Reservoir ? both shocks are on your website...
All stock Tacoma’s and 4Runners OR trim and up are very capable. It’s just that is very common that people bought the idea that you need to throw a bunch of money prior to go out and wheel these suckers. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Very cool and informative. From what challenge 3 video angles provided, it looked possible. So, with just an entry level 2" - 2 1/2" Lift you would made it, even without bigger rubbers.👍
Problems: 1. You said the articulation's not going to be very good yet you never tested it. (one of the best of all vehicles because the bed is designed to twist in relation to the cab) 2. You never stated what drive mode you were in (makes a huge difference because without mts or crawl, you're only in 3wd if you only have the locker on) 3.The skid plates on the trd offroad are perfectly fine if you drive these obstacles slower. (14:02 you're really hitting that obstacle too fast.)
@@yotaxpeditionoh yea. Started my channel three years ago and have brought multiple vehicles there for testing. I recognize most of the trails shown here. Good stuff. 🎉
Wow such a bummer! I created an account, added over $1500 of stuff to my cart, decided to read the RULES to the giveaway. Apparently I’m not eligible. Read the rules if you don’t live in the upper 48 folks. I guess they don’t want any business from us Americans living in Alaska or Hawaii. Shitty deal. I’m out. 🤙🏽
I understand your frustration but there is not much we can do about that. We use to sell to HI and AK but the shipping prices were crazy high and everyone was complaining so we just turned it off. It is something we want to figure out eventually but right now we do not have the time or capacity.
Our goal wasn't to compare it to the 4runner. Our 4Runner has a lift and bigger tires so thats not a fair comparison. The Tacoma did very well for a stock truck
Ford ranger would be way more capable than tacoma you know why? Because it has the similar dimensions to the toyota hilux international not this boat like toyota.
The Ranger is larger then this Tacoma. 3rd gen Tacoma is the same size as my 3rd gen Frontier and the Ranger is larger (but not by much) We get the same Ranger the rest of the world does except no disel variant and the bumpers are different to meet US safety regs
3rd Gen Tacoma Wheel Base 127.1in 3rd Gen Frontier Wheel Base 126in 4th Gen Ranger Wheel Base is 126.8in 4th Gen Tacoma Wheel Base is 131in 5th Gen Ranger is 128in So if your talking 2024 trucks then yes the Ranger would be more manageable on the trails. But this is not a 4th Gen in the video. Just saying is all
Thanks for beating up my truck before I win it.
@@TheFraziers Lol! 😂 it’ll be finnneeee
At least you know exactly what happened to it and they take good care of it.
Super impressive for stock
@@connorwells8506 I agree! We were definitely surprised. It’s hard to really see the difficulty of the trail on video

Those Yoko AT G015 tires are LEGIT, pretty sticky for a not so aggressive AT tire
They did surprisingly well, I was just worried about the side wall
Crappy tires
"you're not on your roof, are you?"🤣
LOL
What about the Tacoma sport? Will it be capable if its bone stock?
We definitely wouldn't have gotten as far as we did without the rear locker and MTS
The video I needed
Damn Good test of a stock Tacoma.
14:58 Crawl Control? Locker?
I was thinking about the same thing! I love my truck too much and I don’t want to do this to it !😊😊😊😊😊😊
Rear locker and MTS were used. No Crawl Control

We just filmed the return trip with the Elkas installed today! Video is in the works!

I am surprised at how good the Yokohama tyres performed and how much abuse they can take
If I buy the weather tech floor mats does that get me an entry into the giveaway?

The ole rolling rock hill (challenge 3)
You been there?

How far ahead do I have to order to get stuff installed by you. Thinking bout driving out from tx
Right now due to our Tacoma giveaway project and other content, we are not doing any customer installs until after the new year.
I wish I could could have entered for this in hawaii
Is the 4Runner on 35s or 33s?
285/70s
33's
I’ll take those rock sliders off your hands i need a set lmao
Not sure what we will be doing with these

US could go back to coal mining and all those thing which bring rich to the country
4 runner is just a better truck period, should have gave away a 2nd generation tacoma. Jeep would walk that.
