I don’t care how many times I watch this, I am still as mesmerized as the first time I watched it. One of my favorites is Elvis trying to figure out how to get the gate to open after he called a cab. (Not to mention the dispatcher woman who thought he was joking!) My other favorite is when they played the prank on JD Sumner and the Stamps quarter. I had never seen the first 5 or 10 minutes that showed Sonny with his wife and daughter. Thanks for sharing this! Sonny is my favorite of all of them.

Love part 2. It's hard to not get emotional. Elvis' entourage loved him. Sad how it turned out.

Thanks so much Martha!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! It's true that it's hard not to get emotional when listening to the end if this.I believe in my heart though they are all reunited in Heaven and probably are all having a good time once more.

Thoroughly enjoyed this part as well with Sonny being the great storyteller that he is and sharing some of his very hilarious stories. It's also obvious that Sonny never stopped caring or loving Elvis and it's so unfortunate that he and Red could not save Elvis from himself. Sonny and Red also took on some of the people themselves who were supplying the medicines to Elvis. ⚡️TCB⚡️

👍 Thank you for these videos and charing your thoughts with us!!!💚
My impressions about Sunny and Red always were, that they really cared about Elvis and wanted him to wake up. But as you said...how to stop an addict??
I heard a telephone call between Red and Elvis, after he was fired and they were talking like friends.
I'd love to see you react to that!
I really enjoyed seeing these videos with you!
      Thank you so much!💚🌞

I feel Sonny has tried to make up for his book with his newer book and talking about Elvis. The only problem I had with Red & Sonny’s book was that they said it was to help Elvis, but there were many stories that were negative types of stories which were more like a tell all book. Sonny said in an interview once that he was bitter about being fired, but I’m sure when the book came out around same time Elvis passed, he must have felt awful. He’s since talked about Elvis and their friendship etc. After reading his second book one can see after passage of a lot of time that he truly loved Elvis, but felt hurt by him and had to work through a lot. He forgave Elvis after Elvis hit him & didn’t hit him back but just cried. He didn’t walk out then & I feel perhaps he was beating his head against the wall. It’s hard to care for someone when they don’t want to help themselves. I’ve gone through that and lost my own brother at age 42. He was so smart, spoke 5 languages and was funny and so kind. But I believe when my Dad died at a young age from ALS, I was 5, my sister was 7 & my brother was 11. He felt he had to step in as the man of the house and helped take care of us when my mom worked. That pressure through the years as he got older really affected him. We had such a loving caring household because my mom was so strong, & my brother was always there. I tried to help him many times as he got older and drank too much, even to the point of telling him I was going to call the Police if he didn’t go to rehab. He did go and was productive for many yrs but damage was done & I had just lost my very best friend from a brain tumor when 3 weeks later I received a call from my sister that we’d better get to the Hospital in NJ as fast as we could. My husband, son and my mom drove down and I was a Nurse, but what I saw brought me to my knees. He died shortly after & my mom was devastated and I’m not sure I ever got over it. I felt guilty I didn’t do more and I felt angry that he didn’t take care of himself and left us. I knew it wasn’t rational but I understand when Sonny & others felt helpless & angry. It’s such a myriad of emotions to work through. I become very upset when Elvis’s calls internally for help weren’t met, but he really wouldn’t listen to them. They will never get better until they want to change. Everyone around is really helpless until they do. Afterwards there is such guilt and remorse which isn’t logical but it’s there. I think of my brother dying the same age as Elvis under similar circumstances & it breaks my heart for Elvis. A tell all book wasn’t the right thing to do, but it seems he’s tried to make up for it by loving Elvis through it all. After all we are all human & do the best we can. Sorry this was so long but I just wanted to explain it’s not so easy if not impossible to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Elvis, we miss you and I hope you are at peace with all your loved ones. Thanks Rich & God bless. 😢❤❤❤🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

Thank you for telling me your story about your brother,Jeri. My sincerest condolences. That's the worst thing about someone you love having an addiction problem. They have to want it and we are helpless until they decide to take that step and help themselves.Unfortunately addiction has impacted my own family a couple of times with my father and my brother in law and we lost both because of it so I completely understand where you're coming from. It's very frustrating and sad at the same time. Thanks for watching Jeri and again for sharing your story.May God be with you and your family.

    Thank you,
I wish the guys had never written that stupid book but I do think Red & Sonny regretted writing it.
From What I’ve seen about Dave H.
I don’t think he regretted anything.
Sonny tears were not fake .
Red & Sonny West both loved Elvis and Elvis loved them.
    Just my opinion.
    Keep doing what your doing.
    Love your shows.
    God Bless Rich 🙏🏽

I agree Ruby.I am not sure how Dave feels but it seems to me that Sonny genuinely loved Elvis and along with Red and Billy Smith, tried his best to save Elvis before he was let go.
