I seem to be 5 months late to the party but love throwing my new MB-339 around. I had your vid on one screen and my view on the other screen following your start up procedure. But I was flying out of sunny Gibraltar, and then doing an imaginary low level loop around the Spanish mountains and wind turbines to the West. It was rather cool seeing both sceneries flashing past, hearing both engines, and your commentary all at the same time.
Haha, well “better late than never” Nick. Welcome to the club! The MB-339 is indeed great fun for throwing around in the mountains etc, IFE did a really nice job with it. Still one of the most “fun” jets to fly in the sim in my opinion. Sounds like fun! I’d imagine the weather in the Spanish mountains is somewhat more pleasant than the Welsh valleys haha. Happy flying! : )
That was a really good outline review of this aircraft. Choosing the Mach loop for handling was a touch of genius. I hope we can see a more detailed review of this aircraft in the future as I believe others have mentioned that the GPS is not functional. A very well done from me.
Thanks very much Graham! I can’t take full credit though. It was actually a viewer request from a few weeks ago that I do a Mach Loop run. I thought this vid would be the perfect opportunity! I would love to review the aircraft more fully, but it’s always difficult to find the time for such an undertaking and fit it in around work, the rest of the content on the channel etc. It’s a tricky balance between depth and variety of content. I feel bad if I’ve mislead people regarding the GPS though, I should have checked that out more thoroughly myself, or at least been clearer that I had yet to try it. Thanks once again for stopping by the channel : )
Thanks for the awesome review! I was waiting for the Aermacchi to be available since weeks. I bought immediately after watching your review and had some fun with it. PS. I'm Italian and live in Exeter and this video is the perfect match for me :D I'm also learning to fly the A320 thanks to your videos. Can't thank you enough for the guidance and the perfect balance of technical knowledge and fun.
Thanks ever so much Andrea! Very kind of you to say : ) Glad you’re enjoying the content. Ha, it’s almost a personalised video yeah! The 339 does look beautiful in the Frecce Tricolori colours. As soon as I downloaded it I knew which livery I’d be choosing for the vid! On that note, I was chatting with an ex military pilot a while back. We were talking about an air show he’d been to. He reckoned the Red Arrows were the best on the day (ok pretty biased as he’s a Brit), but he also said the Frecce Tricolori guys definitely had the biggest balls haha!
Thanks! As I jokingly said to someone else, I’ll take that as a compliment. . . but really it’s hats off to the developers, IFE for producing such a model and Asobo for producing such a sim!
I think they’re really aimed at different users. The fact that the DCS version is free is amazing! I’m sure you have a much deeper user experience with the aircraft in that sim as well. I think the MSFS version is designed much more to have a bit of fun whilst exploring the open world. Of course it would be nice if the MSFS version was free as well, but the developer has to earn a living somehow and Dino has done so much amazing freeware for the community in the past, that I’m happy to support him : ) For sure though, you can have an amazing and totally free simming experience with the DCS version!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations That's true. I however had some bad Experience with his FSX Eurofighter. But his Freeware was always great. Especcially the Tomcat was a great FSX Addon!
Thanks : ) Yeah, give it a go, it’s great fun! I’d considered it in the past, but never really took the time to learn the route. I had a subscriber requesting a Mach Loop flight and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!
Awesome! : ) You’re having better luck than me ha. I couldn’t find all that many MB339s online last night, and when I did find a couple, I couldn’t figure out which server they were on (no idea why MSFS doesn’t tell you) ha! The jet has actually grown on me more since the review. I did wonder how much use I would get out of it, as it’s not the kind of thing I would normally fly in MSFS, but it’s really great fun for chucking around in a valley somewhere, or flying low level from one place to another : )
It’s great fun : ) Having seen a lot more pics / info about the Mach Loop whilst making this vid, I’ve decided I have to go see it (properly) for myself some day (I’ve been to the general area before, but never to that iconic view point)! That area of Wales is stunning! Also had some of the coldest wettest days I can remember there though haha.
Just found this video whole browsing TH-cam. Great video and it's nice to see someone flying the Mach Loop properly. I have a downloaded flightplan but sticking to it at low level can be tricky. I'm not pilot but I love this aircraft. I got it when it hit the marketplace and it's my go-to jet, although I have the F-15 and Typhoon. They did fix the sound and I think they improved the low speed handling. Landing in VR in this aircraft is so sweet I just do circuits and bumps sometimes for an hour! I'm off to investigate your other videos now! 👍👌🖖
Thanks very much Graham, it’s always nice to hear of people enjoying the content (and indeed the MB339)! IndiaFoxtEcho did a lovely job with the aircraft. As you say, sound etc has been taken care of and now it’s really top notch + great fun! Hope you found some other videos of interest on the channel. I don’t know whether you found my Mach Loop series or not, but you might enjoy that by the sounds of it: th-cam.com/play/PLaI08doFZ-LK1qt8dvesfZfd60hjU2Tes.html Thanks again for stopping by and taking the time to leave some feedback. Very much appreciated! : )
Thanks very much! Yeah, At first I was wondering how much use I’d get from it. But as you say, it fills a niche and it’s perfect for just going for a blast around when you’re a bit short for time or don’t fancy planning a whole flight. MSFS is actually a great platform for military jets, I didn’t really think it would be. Enjoy! : )
Thanks very much Bryan, my pleasure! Really glad to hear that the video was useful and indeed that you’re enjoying the MB339. It’s a really fun little jet and perfect for chucking around low level etc. Happy flying - maybe I’ll see you on the Mach Loop some time! All the best : )
You’re welcome! Thanks : ) I knew of the Mach Loop for sure, but I’ve only recently seen (or at least knowingly seen) some of the photos shot from that viewing “platform”. I think now a visit there is on my bucket list! That iconic F15 shot is just awesome.
This sim look amazing. Flying a jet close to the detailed global terrain, with a close up view with trackIR. I feel like DCS has been put to the shadow for a bit.
Yeah, when I re-watched my vid post editing I was thinking “wow that looks good”. Not as a compliment to myself haha, but when this sim is on form, it’s really amazing! Every now and then you see a screenshot or vid clip from MSFS and it’s takes a second or two to work out if it’s real or not.
On the contrary, since I've started flying DCS in VR, I haven't touched MSFS. So far no sim experience matches flying an F16 in VR for me (DCS manages much more accurate flight modelling as well). Haven't touched MSFS in weeks now.
I think they offer very different things. I love DCS and I’m a massive VR fan! For me, low level in the Viggen takes some beating : P Agreed the flight model is far superior in most (if not all) DCS aircraft. MSFS is much better if you just want to “go for a jolly” / explore in my opinion though. I always end up feeling a bit “constrained” in DCS by the maps. Graphically I’d say MSFS is better, but only just. Performance-wise, DCS probably has the edge, until you start introducing large numbers of units. VR in the Viper, with that canopy, is pretty special though : )
Really comparing apples and oranges. Most flyers in DCS are not there for the scenery unless they are going to bomb the crap out of it. I wonder how long b4 you can do that in FS20? As I said apples and oranges
Really enjoyed this video, thanks for making and sharing it. Just downloaded this add-on and looking forward to taking mine out for a spin in the Mach loop. Liked and subscribed :) Cheers!
Do you mean in this vid, or generally? I didn’t notice any problems with the airspeed indicator in the vid. If by “not working” you mean it suddenly goes to 0, I expect you may have pitot icing? That’s generally how the game models it. I haven’t encountered any weaving behaviour personally, I do get some buffeting in pitch at high speed though.
Ahh. Yes. I believe it is, but (and this is just an educated guess I haven’t read the manual fully), Im fairly certain that will be some sort of NAV display. Showing distance / time to waypoint and ground speed in knots etc. I don’t think it’s broken (though it may be non-functional I don’t know), you probably just need to tune a VOR or have a GPS route programmed : )
That’s weird. As I say, I’ve not been experiencing the same issues. No idea what could be causing it I’m afraid. . . It’s difficult to know which are aircraft bugs and which are sim bugs at the moment unfortunately.
Thanks very much! Yes, I always try and be as objective as I can with my reviews, being both fair to the developer and the customer. Not to recommend a product, but to help people decide for themselves if they might like it. Glad you found the vid useful anyway : )
Haha, well the channel is still relatively “new” I guess. I take it that means you’re enjoying the content? If so, that’s great to hear and welcome aboard! : )
Ah ok. Personally I haven’t had any issues with the trim, but that’s definitely good info for anyone that has. I’ll pass it along if I get any such questions. Thanks Ray : )
MSFS is really in a desperate need of better view options like, Fly By, HUD only, Tower view etc... That stupid arcade like plane follow camera option really breaks the sim..
Yes, someone else just made the same comment. I heartily agree an upgraded camera system and a decent replay function (which I believe is coming) would make the world of difference in the sim and would make creating content that much easier as well! A flyby view would have been great in this vid. . .
@@toastehh09 Haha, If you're here to SIM, you're here to SIM!!! Very few people have ever seen their own planes fly past or away from them at 3,500 ft.
that’s what I call VFR :) was amazing to watch this video from the beginning till the very end. the plane, the route, the TrackIR... it was such a big fun to watch it. I’m so much looking forward to play it. I’m just waiting for the X-Box relase and than I’ll made my choice of platform. :)
Thanks Péter, glad you enjoyed it! It’s definitely the best way to get around VFR ha. Thanks very much for watching, I’m sure you’ll have a great time with it once you decide on your platform! : )
Haha, well thanks for sticking around and not immediately clicking off : P Yeah, hats off to both developers! This aircraft and the sim can look stunning at times! : )
Great vid. The last time I was in the Aberporth area was in the '60s for the annual holiday; we stayed at Tresaith just a 1.5 miles over the cliff path walk. They used to test rockets from there and occasionally one would be fired off; not the Bloodhound types I don't think..🚀😃👍
Thanks Nick! : ) Nice. I’ve spent a bit of time in / around the the area myself over the years, can be very nice, as long as you’re lucky with the weather ha. Is that right? They must have been fairly short range rockets then I assume, luckily I didn’t see any on the way over : P
Great video. The aircraft looks good and I think it will be fun. Hopefully by the time it hits the MSFS Marketplace the developer will have fixed the engine sound. Gonna hold off to see if they fix it.
Thanks Mark! : ) Yes, the developer has said they are continuing to work on the aircraft (sound engine included). Apparently it’s been a bit tricky getting to grips with the new resources etc. Personally I would have waited for the Marketplace version as well, if I hadn’t wanted to review the product. For sure it’s great fun though and surprisingly well suited to MSFS! Great if you just want to have a bit of a joy ride.
Brilliant review just what I have been looking for . I spent many a day on the loop taking photos waiting for a jet to come through . Always wanted to fly it now I can . Woukd love some training vids on this jet glad I found your channel . I can now do it it the warm and dry 😊😊👍
Haha! I was just saying, that area of Wales is stunning, but I’ve experienced some very cold and wet days there! I would love to know a little more about the Mach Loop, viewing taking photos etc. Is it possible to know in advance roughly what aircraft might be expected on a given day for example (presumably not), or is it really just a case of waiting around until you get lucky? Having researched the Mach Loop more for this vid, I’ve decided going there properly and seeing a frontline fighter pass below me, is on my bucket list! I imagine it must be awesome! Thanks very much for visiting the channel. I can’t promise any tutorial vids for the MB 339, but I’ll certainly add it to my list if possible future projects! : )
Thanks for your kind answer; in fact I tryied in the past Track-IR (a free version) but didn't felt confortable with it.I'll try a more sophisticated one
You’re most welcome Ezio! Yes, unfortunately the more expensive products tend to be the more refined ones. TrackIR is definitely a great option in terms of smoothness and accuracy of tracking etc. Not everyone enjoys head-tracking though necessarily. I had a friend who purchased TrackIR and then returned it shortly thereafter - he just couldn’t get used to it and didn’t like it. If you do go for a more sophisticated unit, I hope it works out for you! Eye-tracking is also a possibility these days, though it’s not something I’m all that familiar with myself. . . Have a great weekend! : )
My question would be: How does it compare to the Hawk T1. I have the .339 and I enjoy flying it a lot. I'll regularly fly across Europe with it. Does the Hawk bring much more to the table or is it just a different flavour to this one?
Hi Parabuteo, The Hawk is one my overall favourite addon in MSFS! On “fun-factor”, I would say the two jets are about the same, maaaybe the MB339 even has the slight edge, but in pretty much every other department the Hawk wins out. It has better systems and flight modelling, better sounds, both the front and rear cockpit are modelled, weapons can be loaded (outside of the marketplace) etc. In terms of modelling and texturing, the two products are broadly on a par with one another. The Hawk isn’t perfect, but it is very very good. If you’re into the MB339, I expect you’ll love the Hawk - it’s certainly worth considering at any rate. This might help you get more of a feel for the product: th-cam.com/video/ex_t7mTuvZs/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Thanks very much mate! Yeah, again, it’s all come around a lot quicker than I was expecting, but super happy people are enjoying the content : ) Even more happy to have such a great first-subscriber of course ; ) But genuinely, it’s nice to have a first subscriber who you have a bit of rapport and conversation with. I was watching you catch some fish the other day : P I think we’re broadly into the same types of games. I love such niche sims where “not much happens”. Total War as well (I see you did a series on that). Ever tried Silent Hunter series? I love that, even though you spend 99% of your time “doing nothing” haha. I had actually thought about branching out into some nautical stuff at some point, as it’s still “Into the Blue” so to speak. But I think I’ll stick with just flight sims for now and see how I go. . . Thanks again, sincerely, for supporting the channel! : )
Haha, yeah, I’ve heard a few other people trying that one : ) I’m sure it’s great fun! I’m waiting on the F15 to come out, so I can do that legitimately : P
Hi Alexandre, (Copied from elsewhere in the comments) It's the line labelled as static_thrust. Line number 25 in the file. Change the values to 10000; 9000. Hope that helps! : )
Good review and I echo your comments. I downloaded it last night and took it for a spin from Yeovilton, through LFA7T up to Valley. By chance, saw a fellow 339 taking off from Valley and formated on him (SHADOW#3576) for a little bit (I'm RECON 21 if youre looking at this). I think he was heading for the MFTA. So far, Im loving it. :-D
Thanks! Great. Yeah, it’s certainly something you can take for a spin and have a bit of fun in! : ) So you can see other 339s in game? That’s great to know, as people have been asking and I wasn’t sure of the answer.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Yep they appear perfectly. The one I saw had the same scheme mine had. I assume it was coincidence we had the same but Im sure each individual one will be visible. Pic here on my Google drive: photos.app.goo.gl/6hYqhrVLRsBmo2fw7
"Watch a man fly through Wales and butcher every town name along the way" ha ha, just teasing! Some of them are pretty difficult lol. Great video and tour of the plane and the loop. I'll probably get this one soon, it looks quality
Hahaha, cheers Will. . . Don’t worry about half of Wales has given me flack for it : P I even doubled-down and gave it another go! th-cam.com/video/WBQb7xh1ulk/w-d-xo.html I’m told this attempt was somewhat more successful. Yeah, the MB339 is great fun. I was unsure how much longevity I would get out of it, but I still come back quite regularly when I fancy just blasting around for a bit : )
I couldn’t give you a complete answer to that right now I’m afraid. For sure, not “all” the systems are simulated, but I haven’t had a chance to test everything thoroughly yet. The developer themselves states that this is a “light” version of the aircraft, with the pro version probably coming out some time next year. With that admission, I don’t expect all the systems have been simulated fully. Most switches do seem to work, but it would be difficult to say how much is going on behind the scenes. Sorry I can’t be more specific. . .
You mention thes plane was just a trainer and therefore not capable for extreme maneuvres. That is not correct. This plane is used by the world known highly reputable aerobatcs squadron of the Italian Air Forces, "Frecce Tricolori", for extreme aerobatic maneuvres.
For sure, you’re right. I simply misspoke (bare in mind I was trying to fly and commentate at the same time). In my head, I was thinking relative to a fully fledged fighter. All I meant was that the aircraft behaved as I would logically expect it to. Ie, relative to a high performance jet, the roll rate, high AOA behaviour etc was diminished. “G” was the wrong term, or at least too simplistic. I’m very aware of who the Frecce Tricolori are though, I was flying their jet in the video, they kick ass! : )
Change power to 10000, 9000 in engine.cfg. It'll do 550kts straight and level! 🙂 It's the line labelled as static_thrust. Line number 25 in the file. Change the values to 10000; 9000. I don't know exactly what they do so just roughly scaled from the original 🙂. Make a backup copy first! OP feel free to add to your description if you want.
I can easily find the engine.cfg file but I don't know what parameter to change? It doesn't seem to have "power"... Please help me, I'm a total noob with this !
@@nikitamesmaeker4577 It's the line labelled as static_thrust. Line number 25 in the file. Change the values to 10000; 9000. Hello again Ezio, I would like to potentially take a look at the M346 in due course. As I’m a bit late in covering the addon, it isn’t a priority for me at the moment, but if I’m short of something to do one day, I might well head out in the M346 : ) Cheers and all the best!
I believe so. Well, there’s currently a freeware version of it available, though I believe a payware version coming out soon. I’m not sure if the freeware version is “light” and the payware version is full-fidelity (one would assume so), but it’s certainly worth taking a look at! : )
Thanks very much! Yes, I believe it will be coming to the in-game Marketplace as well, but the Microsoft review process takes quite a while, so it will probably be a couple of weeks from now. Personally, if I wasn’t looking to review the product, I probably would have waited and bought it through Marketplace. It’s probably easier / preferable have all your addons in one location and easy to install. Totally user preference though of course : )
Apparently the developer has already submitted it to MS and it is currently under review. I think it’s good enough that it will probably be given the go-ahead : )
No, I purchased it as well. I wanted to review the aircraft, + support the developer, as he’s produced a lot of great freeware for various sims in the past. Yeah, the MB339 is a great little jet, but she’s not really built for speed. . . Someone posted a comment somewhere in this thread, you can modify the engine values in the aircraft config and get her cracking along at 550kts if you like : )
Looks like we're gonna have military jets before we get the oldies. For interest sake, this aircraft is available freely for DCS and DCS of course supports native VR, and because it's DCS, you also get to make stuff explode.
Hi Jin. Did you purchase from Simmarket? You have to unzip the .zip file you download straight into you MSFS “Community” folder (which you will find inside your main MSFS install location). Are you familiar with how to unzip files? If not, I can help try and help a little.
It’s a fair point Trysten. I’m not sure I have the time to carry out another review I’m afraid (I already have quite a backlog of content), but I’ll look to pin a comment or something, highlighting the major changes (from memory, the aircraft sounds were the only major change to the product since release). Thanks very much for the suggestion! All the best : )
I never tried the L39 in FSX unfortunately, so can’t really comment. Obviously the two aircraft are quite similar in terms of characteristics though. I’ve flown the L39 in DCS. I would say the DCS L39 is a superior product, but again this version of the MB339 is only supposed to be a “light” version anyway. It’s a decent addon though, certainly good fun to fly : )
No, the Lotus Simulations L39 is far superior in nearly every aspect, especially the systems that they modeled. Maybe once Dino releases the "Pro" version, but for now don't buy the MB339 expecting all of the systems to work. It's a great addon and I've been having lots of fun with it, but at it's current state it doesn't hold a candle to the Lotus L39 imo.
Aah... Lotus... the things we did in multiplayer sessions with that are eye popping even today. So much fun, but boy, it does set a benchmark. I will get the 339, but upgrade as soon as.
“My” L39 was the DCS version. I definitely have a soft spot for it, it’s a great simulation of the aircraft! I don’t know how it compares with the Lotus version mind you. Yes, I may well do the same. I’m hoping maybe there will be a discounted upgrade price, that would be nice.
I have no experience with the Lotus L39, but that’s a very fair statement. The mod definitely isn’t study level, but neither does it claim to be. As you say, it’s just something to have a bit of fun in currently and for that, it’s great! : )
One thing I noticed is the CDI (Course Deviation Indicator) in the centre yoke of the HSI was deflected with power off, and centered with avionics master on. This is not how it works. With power off, the CDI should rest in the centre position. Small detail, but I thought it was worthy of mention 🙂
Good spot! I must admit I didn’t notice. . . I believe the developer is well know for his commitment to products and keeping them updated, so I’m sure issues will get fixed as and when they are found. Cheers though : )
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it! : ) Haha, I did indeed mean the A470. This was my first outing on the Mach Loop, so I was still finding my bearings a little (and apparently couldn’t read ha). Yes, it’s basically following the B404, A470 and then the A487. Cheers, all the best!
Hopefully Jordan, I’m surprised they haven’t already in fact. Haven’t tried the Eurofighter myself, but I know the MB339 is rather more detailed. It’s a nice little jet : ) All the best!
Thanks very much! : ) Yes, for the price, I think it’s a great buy. It’s actually been growing on me more and more as well. The developers are still working to improve it, so it should only get better!
Great, glad you’re enjoying the aircraft! : ) Do you mean; is there a way for the aircraft to fly a heading / altitude for you? There is no autopilot I’m afraid, so you will always have to fly manually. The flight director only provides guidance to you. If you want the flight director to provide guidance in heading, simply press the HDG button on the FLT DIR panel. For altitude, just press ALT HOLD. Hope that helps? : )
You’re welcome! I don’t know 100% for sure, but I believe it is true to life yes. I don’t think the real world MB339 has an autopilot either (at least not the version of the aircraft modelled).
Thanks very much for the tip Peter, but I’m guessing as you mention “headphone mode”, you are referring to DCS? This version of the MB339 has been newly released for Microsoft Flight Simulator : )
Ah, I beg your pardon! You’re absolutely correct. I never knew that, great to know thanks! I didn’t notice a reduction when opening and closing the canopy, but the noise level with the headphone effect option was certainly much more manageable : )
Hi Ryan, good point and yes, you’re totally correct! : ) I didn’t make myself clear in the video. There was a crosswind during the takeoff, and I just meant that the rudder input needed to counteract it felt reasonable / correct. Confused a few people with that one. . .
It's a little dissapointing that the mirrors aren't working. There were addons that made mirrors work in FSX, I'd hope in MSFS2020 that mirrors would be baked into the sim from the start....
Yes, I did think that myself. Personally I didn’t consider it a major issue though, it’s not like DCS where they’re a necessity, but I was surprised not to see them working. Maybe it’s and FPS thing. Personally if that’s the case, I’d rather sacrifice the mirrors and keep the frames in a game like MSFS : )
Yes, the sound needs some work. The developers have acknowledged this and are continuing to improve it though. They wanted to release the product with a new sound engine, but currently it’s apparently not been straightforward with the resources Microsoft / Asobo have provided. Currently the addon is still using FSX tech for the sounds.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Been there, sooooo many roundabouts. My Wife was starting to sarcastically yell at the GPS Instructions that kept saying "At the Roundabout..." every few seconds.
Hahaha, I’ll bet! My ex was actually from the states, I had to try and teach her how to use roundabouts whilst driving in Italy. Quite a stressful experience I can tell you haha! : P
Anyone else having issues with downloading mods to MFD2020? I downloaded the game through steam and I have looked in the developer tools for my community folder. When I put mods in that folder they never show up in-game. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Im not an expert, haven’t messed around behind the scenes with the sim much yet. I believe though, that any mods go in your “Community” folder, located in your MAIN MSFS installation folder, not in the one you mentioned. That’s where I installed the MB339, so try installing them there. Hope that helps : )
Enjoyed the Loop flight! Can you do another video with focus on TACAN/VOR/GPS? I find that the TACAN/VOR at certain locations in England, don't transmit? The VOR/DME CPT (Compton) for example are ok. But the Farnborough and other military TACAN don't work, even with correct VOR frequencies entered. If these systems work with Dino's jet, I may splash out and buy it. Thanks!
Hi David, Glad you enjoyed the flight! I probably wouldn’t go as far as to make a video on it, at least not presently, but I would be happy to go away and investigate and see what the deal is with TACAN / the MB339. Ill report back on my findings : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks. If you try and tune a TACAN in a VOR equipped aircraft, using the alternative VOR frequency stated for the TACAN, you only get DME and no bearing. If Dino has managed to code his TACAN to give DME and bearing, then that's great! But I suppose most folks just use the "magenta line" in MSFS. Only old fart pilots like me bother with radio navigation!
Hi David, I ran a bit of a trial with the MB339 using both the normal NAV radio and the TACAN radio (the MB339 has one). I tried 3 different TACANs, none of them seemed to be working correctly unfortunately. I guess it’s just not modelled / possible to implement with the current SDK. . .
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Many thanks for the test flight. I guessed as much. There is supposed to be a formula for converting/ enabling TACAN, to work as VOR/DME, but I can't recall where I read it! Pity though, with a military jet a TACAN is part of the sim! Anyway there's always the magenta line..lol!
I’m sure it’ll get fixed in time, but yes, right now it seems it’s simply not modelled. Far from ideal with a military aircraft as you say. Haha, well, I prefer a green line myself : P
Hi Adam, I don’t know exactly what kind of port it is, but indeed it’s to plug the electronic gunsight into (which is fitted in the other version of the MB339). Failing that, a games console of your choice may work. . .
2:25 This looks so familiar, but with one very noticable difference. This is not Dark Cockpit Simulator. Anyone who wants to it it a shot, can get DCS as a base for free and fly this very MB-339A, which is a free mod, there in the Caucasus region: forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=244476 IndiaFoxtEcho also signed a contract with ED to become a 3rd party and release a full fledged DCS module of this airplane in the future. The free mod version is a very nice demo for that, but since that's been made without the SDK, it still lacks some features. Nevertheless it's literally the best free addon plane for DCS in terms of overall quality in FM, system modeling, etc. The only other mod remotely competing is the A-4E-C which doesn't feature an EFM (yet) though which makes it kinda feel like flying on rails and the rudder inputs are a bit weird as well as the behaviour with wheels on ground. Otherwise that's a remarbably well done mod as well, totally recommended. I'd probably buy this module for Misfis as it's a nice plane to fly around for sure. And since there's nothing comparable yet, these guys did a great headstart on that.
Yes absolutely, also available for (and arguably more useful in) DCS. If you get the free MB339 and DCS (free as well), then you can indeed have an amazing sim setup, totally for free! : ) I agree the A4 flight model is a bit odd at times, but man I love that aircraft / addon! I wanted to get the MSFS version as well though, 1) to review it. 2) To support Dino / IFE as he’s done so much amazing work for the community in the past. The product is very fairly priced for what it is. I was actually wondering how much use I would get out if it in MSFS, but so far it’s been great fun!
Yeah, I’ve actually been getting more use out of it than I thought I might. It’s perfect when you don’t have the time or energy for a full flight and just want to burn down some valleys for 15 mins of fun! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations just make a slight change in the pronunciation and you’ll be right on the money; Mach-yn-lleth not Mach-llyn-eth haha. Great vid, convinced me to get it!
Haha, one day I imagine I might find myself in Machynlleth and all the locals are going to wonder how I pronounce it so wonderfully! : P Thanks very much, enjoy the jet! : )
Ah great, hope you have fun! Initially I wasn’t sure how much long term use I would get out of it, but I still find myself jumping back in from time to time for some fun : ) Btw, there’s a really good looking sound mod for it (which I haven’t tried myself yet), might be worth checking out.
Indeed, very true. In fairness to the devs, the aircraft came out before VR was implemented in the sim (which was when I reviewed it). I’ve also found the same thing on other aircraft. I think it’s maybe more of a sim issue than an aircraft issue? Cheers
Good question. I can’t really give a definitive answer I’m afraid. . . Of course they “should” be. So far it seems developers have been updating as the sim gets patched, but I don’t know how long they will continue to keep up with Asobos schedule. With regular patches and bugs being introduced into the sim, developers may tire of dealing with this I suppose. I did read someone saying that Carenado are now saying product issues are Asobos problem, but I don’t know whether that’s true. . . Ultimately, short term there is a risk that products will not work as intended. Hopefully longer term the sim will become more stable and the products will be patched to meet that.
I’m afraid I’m not sure about that. I know it can be seen IF you own the product, but I would imagine, as the product has yet to be approved by Microsoft, it probably isn’t in the base game files. I’m only guessing though I’m afraid.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Yes, there is already a free version but its not that nicely modelled. The payware version however is going to be a fully functional high fidelity model! :))
Yes, that’s what I thought. The same is actually going to happen in MSFS as well, with IFE releasing a pro version of the MB339 into the sim at a later date. I think a full-fidelity 339 is probably better suited to DCS though : )
Thank you sir, this aircraft looks like great fun. Thanks for such a detailed review. Ive had issues with my X52 that are just resolved with the latest patch, so I'm actually going to pick this up, and enjoy it ...
Thanks very much : ) Great! Yes, I hear quite a few people have been having control issues, glad it’s finally been fixed. I did wonder how much use I’d get out of the MB339 initially, but I still find myself hopping back in quite regularly as it simply is great fun! Enjoy! : )
Ciao! : ) Thanks very much! No, I wasn’t using VR in this vid, but a device called TrackIR. It’s basically an infrared head-tracking device. It’s great, but a little pricey. There are some freeware alternatives available as well though if you are keen to try it.
Im using a device called TrackIR in this vid. It’s not VR, but just monitors your head movement and inputs it into game. It’s great, but a little pricey. There are some freeware alternatives as well though (Freetrack, FaceTrackNoIR etc), so maybe check those out. I am a big VR fan though! It would be difficult to recommend one headset, as there are so many variables. Game type, computer specs, personal preference, head shape, whether you wear glasses or not etc. All come into play. Based off my own experience though. I own 2 currently. The Samsung Odyssey and the HP Reverb. I previously owned an Occulus Rift and have a HP Reverb G2 on order. The HP Reverb by far has the best visual quality of the headsets I’ve tried (hence why I’ve preordered the G2), but it does have a number of issues. My favourite all-rounder has been the Samsung Odyssey so far. Decent visually, very comfortable (with a couple of minor adaptations), good sound, reasonable price etc. Again, it would be very hard for me to give you a recommendation though I’m afraid. Some headsets suit some people better than others. One thing I would say though, visual clarity is definitely very important for simming, so I would strongly research / consider the HP Reverb G2 when it comes out. Hope that helps a little : )
Just to chime in about VR, if you only want the headset for sims, then any of the WMR will serve you well, the Reverb is probably the best one, IMO. Completely fine for static, head tracking uses, like Assetto Corsa, Eurotruck Sim, Elite: Dangerous, XPLANE... Beware of the resolution, though, MFS2020 is hard enough to run at 4K, and the Reverb has even slightly more resolution than that. VR at 30FPS is NOT fun. But if you want to do anything besides simming, money is no objection, and you dont mind having a semi-permanent setup, get an outside tracking headset, preferably the Valve Index (specially if you have enough grunt to run it at 144Hz), altough the HTC Cosmos Pro is not too bad, either (very similar to the HTC Vive Pro). Inside out tracking, like with the WMR devices, or whatever Oculus is doing (DONT get anything from Oculus), are fine for casual games but when you start to get a bit more involved, they just lack precision and lose track of the controllers in certain positions -something a well-configured outside tracking system wont do. Even my old Oculus Rift CV1 with just two cameras has better tracking than the Rift S. And my Index is miles better than that, still.
Yes, all very valid points! A few there I forgot to mention myself. I’m definitely looking forward to VR in MSFS, but I’m still not really sure how it’s going to be possible (at a reasonable frame rate). Thanks very much for the input! : )
Having flown an earlier version of this module in another flight simulation product, it looks and sound very familar. In that flight simulation, even the armaments were functional. It will be interesting to try in in MS2020 for comparison. Great video. Wonder has anyone else taken a minute to realise this is a not a real aircraft in front of a hanger .... or was it just me?
Thanks! : ) DCS I presume? I guess something like this is better suited to DCS, both for combat and aerobatics, but it’s still a blast to fly in MSFS! One area where MSFS has the edge, you can fly down one valley, then the next and the next. . . The world is your oyster, and this little jet is a surprisingly fun option for exploring it! Yeah, hats off to the IFE developers and Asobo, this game is at the point now where occasionally you could put a real shot side-by-side with an in-game shot and you’d struggle to pick them apart.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I dunno why the name cannot be mentioned - Digital Combat Simulation! :) I fly the free mod too and waiting to fly the payware version. Anyway, I try to avoid military aircraft in MSFS, but hey, this may be an exception.
Hi Griffin, I did mention the name haha? I know I abbreviated to DCS, but that’s just to save time, as I have a lot of messages to reply to etc : ) I can see why you might not want to fly military aircraft in MSFS, I used to be much the same myself. I very much enjoy DCS as well though, so it just depends what sort of mood I’m in. I never found the time to try the MB339 in DCS, but I’m quite looking forward to the India Foxt Echo G-91. Cheers!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I like the free version of MB39 on DCS. Fun little plane unfortunately the animation is broken after 2.7 so I am waiting for the payware. I tried the F/A-18E on MSFS once and it put me off. Shame. The NX Cub side pillars are a bit too bit so the CP is very appealing.
Haha, yes. I knew I was probably butchering them. I wouldn’t worry though, I’ve had a number of people giving me guidance and even sending TH-cam links on how to pronounce things correctly. Come the next time I visit the Mach Loop, I’ll be flying around calling everyone “boyo” and telling people I’m from the valllleeeeeys! : P Yeah, it’s a great sim. Certainly has a lot of bugs that need ironing out, but the graphical fidelity and scenery generation are 2nd to none : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I didn't mean anything by my comment INTO THE BLUE honestly I really enjoyed your video & the depths you go into is great. I did find it hilarious though when you said the Welsh names 🤣👌🏼 brilliant So I've heard but I'm sure they will tweek them so the game runs more smoothly, graphics look awesome. Thanks for the great video 👍😉
Haha, not at all Matthew! Sorry, I realise it was said in jest, I was just playing around too. Thanks very much for the kind words, I will try and improve my pronunciation a little next time, promise hehe : ) Yes, obviously it’s still early days with the sim, it’s still in a beta state really, I think it’s fair to say. It’s already an amazing achievement though, and hopefully it will only continue to improve!
Hi again Matthew, I actually just made another video based around a tour of the Mach Loop. I've tried my best to research and correctly pronounce the place names around the route this time. If you have 20 mins spare, I would really appreciated you taking a look at the video and letting me know if there are still any glaring errors. I'm planning to create a whole series based around the Mach Loop, so it would be nice to be pronouncing the place names etc correctly (there's only so much you can glean from research online). I would really appreciate your help if you have the time to spare : ) th-cam.com/video/WBQb7xh1ulk/w-d-xo.html Thanks and best regards
Hi @@IntotheBlueSimulations I'm sorry I've just seen you had left me this message I'll have a look later if that's ok sorry I'm later to the party 😅👍 I've been busy with work.
Ah, apologies, I think I may have edited the explanation away ha. It was a PYLON TNK EMPTY caution. I only had the pylon tanks topped up 50% on departure.
This vid was shot in MSFS2020 : ) The aircraft is available for the sim. Currently only available at Simmarket.com, but I will soon be available for in-game purchase as well.
If it’s any consolation, the picture quality is appalling when you try and run the thing on modern TVs. Tried playing Goldeneye with some mates recently, 4X players, you could barely make out what was going on on-screen ha. Single player is a little better but still pretty pixelated. I think it’s fair to say MSFS might have Pilotwings beat at this point anyway ha. All we need is a gyrocopter!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations just as an aside, this is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I thought you sounded extremely professional - gave me flashbacks to one of my flight instructors! Kudos from a fellow bus driver ;)
Thanks very much! Definitely nice to receive such feedback from a peer : ) Haha, well I hope he was a nice flight instructor and that your flashbacks weren’t giving you PTSD : P
Thanks Antonio! : ) I use a device called TrackIR. It monitors your head movements and inputs them to the game camera. It’s great, but a bit pricey. There are similar freeware solutions available. It makes a big difference in-sim : )
Love it! Where's a central place I can bookmark that lets me know of all the current and future payware aircraft coming to MSFS? Does such a site exist? Thank you!
Thanks Todd! The MSFS official website springs to mind (or the forums more specifically). They have a forum where most new addons / future addons are posted. AVSIM had much the same in their MSFS forum. There are also other TH-camrs who tend to cover this (Froogle Sim has a weekly news segment for example). It’s a good question and not one I have a definitive answer to, but those places should cover most of what you want : )
I would like to know what graphics card are you using. I have had a real pain that I wont bore everyone with here, suffice it to say it has been harder than you might think to get the proverbial "straignt answer - without "too many it depends disclaimers" - Thanks and nice video BTW Dace
Thanks very much! RTX 2080 currently. The rest of my system details are in the video description : ) Well, I’m intrigued now. So I have to ask, what is the question you’re trying to answer?
@@IntotheBlueSimulations - No worries ! What card I should get. I have a 970 (Nvidia) with a I7 6700 -- 32 GB RAM 8 TB w 4TB SSD. I tried a 2060 RTX and it was NOT what you would expect for over 300 USD. My 970 could keep up with it ! However, I hear AMD just announced some new cards today. I have always used NVidia so I am still shopping - going to upgrade my rig for FSIM 2020 @ First of year (2021) .. Thx !
I’m kind of in the same boat actually. I’d like to upgrade my rig, especially now I’m using it for recording / video editing as well. 2080 more or less does the job, but I don’t know that I would recommend it. Performance still isn’t where I’d like it to be all the time (though admittedly my CPU and old RAM is probably holding me back as well). Yeah, probably worth waiting and see what AMD come up with. I’m thinking I’ll basically have to build from scratch now, as my motherboard has become the limiting factor for most things. Overall I’d be inclined to go for a 3080 at the moment, find it really hard to justify spending any more money than that on a GFX card. Whatever you decide, hope it works out and happy simming in the new year! : )
Very kind of you to say : )
Glad you’re enjoying the content.
Stunning. In the beginning I actually was confused if this was real !
Thanks! As I jokingly said to someone else, I’ll take that as a compliment. . . but really it’s hats off to the developers, IFE for producing such a model and Asobo for producing such a sim!
The one in dcs is far better than this in my opinion
in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 you dont even have damage models, in DCS the mb339 is free too
I think they’re really aimed at different users. The fact that the DCS version is free is amazing! I’m sure you have a much deeper user experience with the aircraft in that sim as well. I think the MSFS version is designed much more to have a bit of fun whilst exploring the open world. Of course it would be nice if the MSFS version was free as well, but the developer has to earn a living somehow and Dino has done so much amazing freeware for the community in the past, that I’m happy to support him : )
For sure though, you can have an amazing and totally free simming experience with the DCS version!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations That's true. I however had some bad Experience with his FSX Eurofighter. But his Freeware was always great. Especcially the Tomcat was a great FSX Addon!
I’ve never even considered doing the mach loop in MSFS, thanks for the suggestion. Great review too.
Thanks : )
Yeah, give it a go, it’s great fun! I’d considered it in the past, but never really took the time to learn the route. I had a subscriber requesting a Mach Loop flight and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!
Literally just spent the past few hours chasing 4 other 339a’s through the Welsh valleys- brilliant fun!
Can't wait to try this as I am from the Mach loop area and see hawks every day. Been waiting for a small fast jet trainer.
Awesome! : ) You’re having better luck than me ha. I couldn’t find all that many MB339s online last night, and when I did find a couple, I couldn’t figure out which server they were on (no idea why MSFS doesn’t tell you) ha! The jet has actually grown on me more since the review. I did wonder how much use I would get out of it, as it’s not the kind of thing I would normally fly in MSFS, but it’s really great fun for chucking around in a valley somewhere, or flying low level from one place to another : )
It’s great fun : )
Having seen a lot more pics / info about the Mach Loop whilst making this vid, I’ve decided I have to go see it (properly) for myself some day (I’ve been to the general area before, but never to that iconic view point)!
I don’t know whether you found my Mach Loop series or not, but you might enjoy that by the sounds of it:

Great review. Purchased...it fills that niche for a quality, low level high speed jet experience in these early days of FS 2020. 😎
Enjoy! : )
I wish they would implement Fly-by views. It seems strange why they left this out. DCS have it and so do all the other sims.
Agreed! Hopefully they will add such a feature at a later date. The DCS one is awesome.

I knew of the Mach Loop for sure, but I’ve only recently seen (or at least knowingly seen) some of the photos shot from that viewing “platform”. I think now a visit there is on my bucket list! That iconic F15 shot is just awesome.
I love the cars on the roundabout at 22:49 going around and around and around 🤣🤣🤷♂️
Haha, yep! They’re all in a massive hurry, but going nowhere! They’re also going around it the wrong way hah.
Haha, for sure! Different sims, different experiences. Sometimes I want to bomb the scenery, sometimes I just want to admire it : )
Really enjoyed this video, thanks for making and sharing it. Just downloaded this add-on and looking forward to taking mine out for a spin in the Mach loop. Liked and subscribed :) Cheers!

Hope you enjoyed your time out in the MB339 : )
22:50 crazy drivers at roundabout!
Haha, yes. They’re obviously in a bit of a hurry. Not only that, but they’re going around it the wrong way! : P
Notice how the speedo doesn't work at times. Also mine seems to weeve left and right heavily? Maybe going to fast?
Do you mean in this vid, or generally? I didn’t notice any problems with the airspeed indicator in the vid. If by “not working” you mean it suddenly goes to 0, I expect you may have pitot icing? That’s generally how the game models it. I haven’t encountered any weaving behaviour personally, I do get some buffeting in pitch at high speed though.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations isn't that "-------" in top corner suppose to show knts
Ahh.
I have the same problem where it goes hard left then right and it just keeps doing it no matter what speed I'm at.
That’s weird. As I say, I’ve not been experiencing the same issues. No idea what could be causing it I’m afraid. . . It’s difficult to know which are aircraft bugs and which are sim bugs at the moment unfortunately.
A fantastic and informative look at the aircraft, thanks very much mate 👍

Great review . Really helps people get an idea , if the plane / jet is suitable for them before purchase .
Thanks very much! Yes, I always try and be as objective as I can with my reviews, being both fair to the developer and the customer. Not to recommend a product, but to help people decide for themselves if they might like it. Glad you found the vid useful anyway : )
How am I just now coming across this channel?🤯🤯🤯🤯

@@IntotheBlueSimulations my pleasure dude!
A flyby view would have been great in this vid. . .
As long as they do not add more camera features, i would recommend to use the drone camera.

Yeah, hats off to both developers!
Nice.
Yes, the developer has said they are continuing to work on the aircraft (sound engine included).

Indeed! The aircraft looks awesome in their colours : )
Eye-tracking is also a possibility these days, though it’s not something I’m all that familiar with myself. . .

My question would be: How does it compare to the Hawk T1. I have the .339 and I enjoy flying it a lot. I'll regularly fly across Europe with it. Does the Hawk bring much more to the table or is it just a different flavour to this one?
Hi Parabuteo,
The Hawk is one my overall favourite addon in MSFS!
This might help you get more of a feel for the product:

Thanks very much mate! Yeah, again, it’s all come around a lot quicker than I was expecting, but super happy people are enjoying the content : )
Even more happy to have such a great first-subscriber of course ; ) But genuinely, it’s nice to have a first subscriber who you have a bit of rapport and conversation with.

So you can see other 339s in game? That’s great to know, as people have been asking and I wasn’t sure of the answer.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Yep they appear perfectly. The one I saw had the same scheme mine had. I assume it was coincidence we had the same but Im sure each individual one will be visible.

Yeah, the MB339 is great fun. I was unsure how much longevity I would get out of it, but I still come back quite regularly when I fancy just blasting around for a bit : )
Are all the systems fully simulated or are most switches and buttons there just for show?
I couldn’t give you a complete answer to that right now I’m afraid. For sure, not “all” the systems are simulated, but I haven’t had a chance to test everything thoroughly yet. The developer themselves states that this is a “light” version of the aircraft, with the pro version probably coming out some time next year. With that admission, I don’t expect all the systems have been simulated fully. Most switches do seem to work, but it would be difficult to say how much is going on behind the scenes. Sorry I can’t be more specific. . .
it's a basic version, a more complex version of the plane will be released when more of the SDK is available
Exactly.
@@mro9466 When comes the complex version who bought that plane will have just to update? or will need to buy a new one?
Hi Filipe. I’m pretty sure it won’t be a free update. There may be a discount perhaps, but I haven’t seen any mention of that from the developers. . .
You mention thes plane was just a trainer and therefore not capable for extreme maneuvres. That is not correct. This plane is used by the world known highly reputable aerobatcs squadron of the Italian Air Forces, "Frecce Tricolori", for extreme aerobatic maneuvres.
I was about to comment down the same
For sure, you’re right.
ok smart ass

@@IntotheBlueSimulations Welcome 😊
Hi, are you planning to review the M346 of IndiaFoxtEcho ?
Hello again Ezio,
I would like to potentially take a look at the M346 in due course. As I’m a bit late in covering the addon, it isn’t a priority for me at the moment, but if I’m short of something to do one day, I might well head out in the M346 : )

It’s already available in DCS for free I believe? : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations for real? i just saw the Dev note the other day talking about this plane
I believe so. Well, there’s currently a freeware version of it available, though I believe a payware version coming out soon. I’m not sure if the freeware version is “light” and the payware version is full-fidelity (one would assume so), but it’s certainly worth taking a look at! : )

Great Review!
Do you know if this product will be released on the ingame Marketplace too?
Thanks very much!
Yes, I believe it will be coming to the in-game Marketplace as well, but the Microsoft review process takes quite a while, so it will probably be a couple of weeks from now. Personally, if I wasn’t looking to review the product, I probably would have waited and bought it through Marketplace. It’s probably easier / preferable have all your addons in one location and easy to install. Totally user preference though of course : )
is still in an early state for that,i'm pretty sure is going to be. it's a good quality product,i don't see why not :)
Apparently the developer has already submitted it to MS and it is currently under review. I think it’s good enough that it will probably be given the go-ahead : )
Jets don't experience P-Effect, so shouldn't experience left rudder on take off. If single engine, it may experience torque effects.
For sure. I didn’t explain myself very well, I had a crosswind and I meant the rudder input needed to counteract it felt reasonable : )
I bought this plane as well or maybe you got it for free but I just wish it was faster.
No, I purchased it as well. I wanted to review the aircraft, + support the developer, as he’s produced a lot of great freeware for various sims in the past. Yeah, the MB339 is a great little jet, but she’s not really built for speed. . .
Someone posted a comment somewhere in this thread, you can modify the engine values in the aircraft config and get her cracking along at 550kts if you like : )
See my comment 🙂
Perfect, thanks Colin!
ill race you in the tbm lol
Haha, would be close!
Looks like we're gonna have military jets before we get the oldies. For interest sake, this aircraft is available freely for DCS and DCS of course supports native VR, and because it's DCS, you also get to make stuff explode.
it's going to be payware soon
Al Bundy (intentional) in reality everything is not about exploding things. This supposed to be a flight (MSFS) sim not war games.
@@fsx-legend4602 please quote me where I say to NOT look into the FS2020 versuon?
I purchased it but don't know how to install. I copy two folder to the community folder but in MSFS can't find it. What's wrong?
Hi Jin. Did you purchase from Simmarket? You have to unzip the .zip file you download straight into you MSFS “Community” folder (which you will find inside your main MSFS install location).
Are you familiar with how to unzip files? If not, I can help try and help a little.
You should go back and review this now that it’s on console almost a year later
It’s a fair point Trysten. I’m not sure I have the time to carry out another review I’m afraid (I already have quite a backlog of content), but I’ll look to pin a comment or something, highlighting the major changes (from memory, the aircraft sounds were the only major change to the product since release).

With FSX, it was the L39. Could this be the successor for FS2020? I do hope so...
Proper job ❤️😊at 11:03 You say aberagnel a480, can't find this on map might be wrong.. it's just à470 as far as I can tell.

Great, glad you’re enjoying the aircraft! : )
Do you mean; is there a way for the aircraft to fly a heading / altitude for you? There is no autopilot I’m afraid, so you will always have to fly manually. The flight director only provides guidance to you.
If you want the flight director to provide guidance in heading, simply press the HDG button on the FLT DIR panel. For altitude, just press ALT HOLD.

Sound is like the X-Plane’s default sound
Yes, the sound needs some work. The developers have acknowledged this and are continuing to improve it though. They wanted to release the product with a new sound engine, but currently it’s apparently not been straightforward with the resources Microsoft / Asobo have provided. Currently the addon is still using FSX tech for the sounds.

Im not an expert, haven’t messed around behind the scenes with the sim much yet. I believe though, that any mods go in your “Community” folder, located in your MAIN MSFS installation folder, not in the one you mentioned. Thanks!
Hi David,
Glad you enjoyed the flight!
Hi David,
I ran a bit of a trial with the MB339 using both the normal NAV radio and the TACAN radio (the MB339 has one). I tried 3 different TACANs, none of them seemed to be working correctly unfortunately. I guess it’s just not modelled / possible to implement with the current SDK. . .
@@IntotheBlueSimulations
Many thanks for the test flight.
Is that an old parallel port? Did someone take out a targeting device or something?
Hi Adam,
I don’t know exactly what kind of port it is, but indeed it’s to plug the electronic gunsight into (which is fitted in the other version of the MB339). Failing that, a games console of your choice may work. . .
2:25 This looks so familiar, but with one very noticable difference. This is not Dark Cockpit Simulator. Anyone who wants to it it a shot, can get DCS as a base for free and fly this very MB-339A, which is a free mod, there in the Caucasus region: forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=244476
IndiaFoxtEcho also signed a contract with ED to become a 3rd party and release a full fledged DCS module of this airplane in the future.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Perfectly reasonable to support him and his team. And I think it's a great plane to fly around the world in MSFS.

Is it possible to have pylon tanks and wingtip tanks at the same time?
I’m afraid not. It’s one or the other. The tanks are actually part of the model, you can’t add or remove them unfortunately.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I figured as much.
It's not very well optimised for VR. I have to close one eye to line up the mouse cursor over a switch or button
Indeed, very true. In fairness to the devs, the aircraft came out before VR was implemented in the sim (which was when I reviewed it). I’ve also found the same thing on other aircraft. I think it’s maybe more of a sim issue than an aircraft issue?
Cheers
so if flight sim gets updated do these add ons also get updated?
How it will be seen in multiplayer? When someone don't have that plane?
I’m afraid I’m not sure about that. I know it can be seen IF you own the product, but I would imagine, as the product has yet to be approved by Microsoft, it probably isn’t in the base game files. I’m only guessing though I’m afraid.
Its coming to DCS too.
Indeed! I know the payware version is. I believe the freeware version is already available for DCS though? : )

Ciao. Very nice video ! ...using VR helmet ?
Ciao! : )
Thanks very much! No, I wasn’t using VR in this vid, but a device called TrackIR. It’s basically an infrared head-tracking device. It’s great, but a little pricey. There are some freeware alternatives available as well though if you are keen to try it.
great review
Thanks very much Jason! : )
Thank you 🙏
Thanks very much! You’re most welcome : )
Are you using a VR headset? And if so, which one? If not, which one would you recommend?
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thanks for the info.
You’re welcome!
Thanks! : )
DCS I presume?
I know I abbreviated to DCS, but that’s just to save time, as I have a lot of messages to reply to etc : )
I can see why you might not want to fly military aircraft in MSFS, I used to be much the same myself.
You crucified the Welsh names but it made for a very entertaining video 😂👍 looking forward to playing this sim.
Yeah, it’s a great sim.
I did find it hilarious though when you said the Welsh names 🤣👌🏼 brilliant
So I've heard but I'm sure they will tweek them so the game runs more smoothly, graphics look awesome. Thanks for the great video 👍😉
Haha, not at all Matthew! Sorry, I realise it was said in jest, I was just playing around too.
Thanks very much for the kind words, I will try and improve my pronunciation a little next time, promise hehe : )
Yes, obviously it’s still early days with the sim, it’s still in a beta state really, I think it’s fair to say. It’s already an amazing achievement though, and hopefully it will only continue to improve!
Hi again Matthew,
I actually just made another video based around a tour of the Mach Loop.
I would really appreciate your help if you have the time to spare : )

Hi @@IntotheBlueSimulations I'm sorry I've just seen you had left me this message I'll have a look later if that's ok sorry I'm later to the party 😅👍 I've been busy with work.
What caused the caution light?
Ah, apologies, I think I may have edited the explanation away ha. It was a PYLON TNK EMPTY caution. I only had the pylon tanks topped up 50% on departure.
Time to have this plane in FSX2020?
This vid was shot in MSFS2020 : )
The aircraft is available for the sim. Currently only available at Simmarket.com, but I will soon be available for in-game purchase as well.
handy spot for a printer port
Haha, indeed! Or many other peripherals of your choosing. I was going to try and jam an N64 SCART cable in there. . .
Good to see it's got a SCART socket for VCR as well :-)
Haha, good point! I wonder if you could hook up an N64 into that thing. . . : P
@@IntotheBlueSimulations yeeesss! A bit of Goldeneye to help pass the time! Or Pilot Wings i guess...
Ha! For sure. Either / or. I still own both haha!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations awesome. I miss my old collection :-(
If it’s any consolation, the picture quality is appalling when you try and run the thing on modern TVs.
Great video, thanks
Thanks very much! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations just as an aside, this is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I thought you sounded extremely professional - gave me flashbacks to one of my flight instructors! Kudos from a fellow bus driver ;)
Thanks very much! Definitely nice to receive such feedback from a peer : )
Haha, well I hope he was a nice flight instructor and that your flashbacks weren’t giving you PTSD : P
Nice video. Quick question. What is your camera settings? It seems you have VR goggles on...?
Furthermore, what desktop video recorder did you use?
Thanks Antonio! : )
I use a device called TrackIR.
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thank you, appreciate the informative response!
My pleasure! : )
I would like to know what graphics card are you using. I have had a real pain that I wont bore everyone with here, suffice it to say it has been harder than you might think to get the proverbial "straignt answer - without "too many it depends disclaimers" - Thanks and nice video BTW
Dace
Thanks very much! RTX 2080 currently. The rest of my system details are in the video description : )
Well, I’m intrigued now.
