    Hi there - This is Dino from IndiaFoxtEcho. Thanks for the appreciation and for your reviews - both for the MB.339 and the Long-EZ. We appreciate your honest comments, and we will try to improve our skills in the next projects. We are glad you appreciated our work on the MB-339...but we are even more glad to receive constructive criticism on the Long-EZ. Negative feedback is essential to improve in everything you do.

      Hi Dino. Thanks for the response. I appreciate your forthrightness in your blog and facebook about your products. Its refreshing to deal with a developer who isn't so easily offended and cares for his customers concerns.
      As a developer myself I can empathize with the difficulty in bringing such a product to life. On the other hand I feel the need to be honest with my viewers. You have one of the best products for MSFS right now IMO.
      Congratulations on what I can only assume is a passion project that you should take great pride in. I'm always open to allowing developers access to the community through my channel if they see fit. I wish you only the best for the future of your products and if there is anything we can contribute with, feel free to let us know. - A new fan - NOTAM

      Assuming you're a developer, please add in-game checklists, it's the best feature in the base sim for newcomers to simulation and they make it instantly easier to easier and fly.
      You don't need to add every checklists but at least the basic ones like cold startup, take-off, landing, shutdown, etc.
      For me a lack of in-game checklists is an instant - 1 star when rating a payware add-on plane.

    Thank you for another great review!
    I really appreciate your honest and unbiased opinion in these reviews. I enjoy that you are being upfront with the developers in a decent and intelligent way. It's absolutely refreshing.
    I think your scrutiny and style of reviewing these MSFS2020 add-ons is absolutely what the community needs. I have the feeling that lately some developers are too quickly releasing port-overs or half finished products for MSFS2020 to be part of the hype. In reality though it's degrading the potential of this sim.
    I am glad this release from Indiafoxtecho is an exception and hopefully more will follow.

It is not a particular fast jet, more a kind of a Alpha Jet. But it has nice flight characteristics. Also the cockpit and the sounds are wonderful (in contrast to the Eurofighter which is not worth its money).

    We can easily see, looking at your last few reviews...that there are Devs who will give us a V 1.0 that we can fly (with round gauges and everything)...for $9 less...AND....when a reviewer is honestly commenting about his other release, gets a reply back from the Dev that is world's apart from another Dev's tone and demeanor.

    I agree with on everything you've said. The one minor thing that bothers me after flying it so far is the flight model itself. It is the way it feels when flying and where it bobbles with control input and turbulence. It is almost as if the default CG point is slightly aft from where it should be. I can see this in your external views as well. It doesn't look natural when encountering turbulence in external view. It looks as if the CG center is too far aft instead of being forward between the center of the wing and leading edge. This might explain the heavy elevator control required in rotation and on landing. To be fair, I've only just begun flying it tonight. BTW, very nice review.

    • @NOTAM1
      @NOTAM1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks Roger. I agree, the flight model (especially stall) isn't accurate. I struggled with mentioning this in the review, but felt that because the developer was up front with the lack of the accuracy of this because he can't run external flight model code yet it wasn't fair to judge him on it. As long as people purchasing are aware of this up front and told this by the dev, its tough to judge him on it. Looking forward to MS/Asabo allowing devs to run external code. Then we will start to see study level stuff. All and all during flight it feels plausible most of the time and isn't so bad that it ruins the experience IMO until of course pushed to its limits. It then obviously breaks down, but arguably all the models (default and otherwise) do the same. I don't know if it was the right decision, but I made the decision to not judge its flight model outside the scope of a light/fun version.

    Great job reviewing the aircraft! I don't have more than an hour flying it yet, but thought I'd add two additional observations.
    1. I wish there was an option to clean the canopy. It looks like a real life dirty canopy, but having a clean canopy and windscreen is important to ensure good visibility. A clean windscreen/canopy is a pre-flight must for me.
    2. I've noticed that the green landing gear indicator lights flicker sometimes. You can see it in you video at time 17:39.

    • @matthewmcgee
      @matthewmcgee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NOTAM1 I can't remember which sim/aircraft it was, but you could click on the canopy and it would cycle through three or four levels of dirt & scratches. From very worn to perfectly clear. (edit - maybe a PA-22 for FSX?) Not sure if MSFS can do that. Even a manual file change would be OK, like in DCS for the F-86 canopy. I don't mean to be overly critical of Dino's MB-339. IMHO, some of the default MSFS aircraft have overly dirty/scratched windows too.

    • @NOTAM1
      @NOTAM1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewmcgee I don't think you are being over critical at all. I agree completely. I don't think its realistic for a pilot to fyling around with a canopy that dirty. You'd have some scratches, but not dirt. It would be the same as a giant hand print in the front windscreen of your car that you never clean. Few people would not clean it.

    Finally military aircraft make it into MSFS. I come from DCS so most aircraft in MSFS feel underpowered, which is understandable, but still hard to get over. As someone else stated, this aircraft is also in DCS as a mod (and a bloody good one at that), and just to give some measure - it is underpowered next to quite a few planes in DCS as well, so that's how much of a power/performance gap there is between most planes in DCS and MSFS. Also, since the entire world is encapsulated within MSFS, I'd LOVE to see a proper SR-71 mod coming around.

    Beautiful video!!
    Just a couple of info.
    It was developed from MB326, with a new cockpit. MB 326 was a great trainer, 339 was, for that time, a bit.... old.
    PAN adopted 339 in 1982 (I was very anxious at that time to see the new PAN plane). Indeed, it was less spectacular in spite to old G91 PAN, and for most of us was quite a delusion. I apologize for my scholastic english....

    My favourite plane in FS2020 at the moment. IF it had a heading and altitude hold autopilot I'd take it around to world but it's still perfect for exploring the world. I've come from DCS and flown the free version there. I've been teaching myself VOR and other radio navigation with this aircraft too, since TACAN isn't really a thing at most of the airfields I use. Speedbrake is a bit weird ifyou don't have an axis though, jumps between 100% and 50% on a single toggle press. Overall though, absolutely fantastic.

    I remember Dino Cattaneo's Tomcat and Goshawk for FSX. I gonna tell you - There is no Addon Maker who is more of a Perfectionist! His Freeware is better than most Payware! And his Payware is all Next Level! Expect BIG THINGS from Dino. As soon as he is biting his Teeth into Something, he is relentless! Also I want to mention that Dino does most of it allone! He has some guys who help with Texturing and Aerodynamics, but the 3D Models he normally purcases for his own Money and tweaks it afterwards. He also does the Cockpit Model mostly with programming of the Instruments too. He had a Job in a Company, designing Parts for the real Eurofighter. I do not know if he still works there or if he has completely switched to making Flightsim Addons, but be sure his Time is limitted between his Family and doing This. Even despite that, he makes Addons that could put Aerosoft, MilViz, Razbam to Shame!

    Bought this over the weekend because I have be dying to get my hands on a jet to fly the Sidewinder low level route through the Sierra Nevada and into Death Valley, CA. I flew the route 3 times over the weekend and did 6 passes through Star Wars canyon on the Jedi transition. It was a blast! I really like the way this little trainer flies. I did notice the buffeting that has been mentioned however. But, it wasn't enough to be discouraging in my opinion.
    I did notice a few things:
    1. I don't see a strobe or beacon rendered on the aircraft? I have both turned on but you do not see them modeled?
    2. I dialed in an ILS / DME on 2 separate airports (Edwards AFB and RAF Valley) and never got the localizer? Glidescope captures and works but localizer and DME did not?
    3. There needs to be an adjustment made to the sound file for after the canopy is closed. The volume stays the same. I had to go into menu and crank down the engine sound.
    Overall, great little airplane. I also flew it around the mach loop in Wales! Much fun!

I'm curious if a developer of an aircraft is constrained by the same flight physics model as the default aircrafts or has he access to some deeper more advanced physics features? To be honest the shortages in FS2020 default aircraft flight physics are really degrading my motivation piloting any aircraft in its inventory. Does this FS2020 pay ware aircraft possess more true to life behavior for instance in crosswind situation? I am almost in agony when doing crosswind landings in FS2020 default aircrafts because of the sudden shift between air and ground physics in the touch down. Its like all flying physics are removed in an instance and the aircraft becomes a car on the runway.

      I think its more creative direction on external views. I don't get this sensation in cockpit during flight, but need to revisit this as its being brought to light by many like yourself. Just haven't had the time to revisit it yet.

      @@NOTAM1 I decided to purchase the MB-339 and try it for myself. It is a beautiful plane and fun to fly. I find it to be extremely pitch sensitive though. Not just from a "view" perspective but from a flight perspective. Up to now I had basically flown the pitts and the 172. The Pitts is very sesitive in every axis and not having flown one for real wrote it off to it being a little, nimble, high performance aircraft. After flying the 339 I experimented with other aircraft and as a pilot, believe that MSFS has an issue with it's pitch modeling.

      @@wrap239 The Pitts is sensitive but has huge control surfaces. Its not for beginners in RL or sim. I just realized that I may not have noticed this as much, as I have my controls with a curve near the dead zone to make all aircraft less sensitive. I haven't really thought of this since, but now that you mentioned it, this was one of the first things I noticed day 1 which is why I spent a lot of time in a 172 getting the feel right by changing my axis curves on yoke and hotas until the curves were input just right. It may be why I'm not noticing this so much in reviews though.

      @@NOTAM1 I appreciate the conversation. I know your busy. I finally went to the MS development update. I noticed the Oct 15 update listed "pitch oscillation issue" as a Bug that was to be addressed in update 5/update 9. The Bug was not however, included in the Oct 22 developement update. Apparently it's a known issue. Hopefully they didn't drop it off the "to-do" list! In the mean time I have to figure out how to create control curves for my Brunner stick. Good talking to you. Appreciate all the "NOTAMS!"

      @@wrap239 np Parrot, the pitch oscillation issue is different. Pitch Osc. exhibits itself when seeing an aircraft start to pitch up then down then up etc... over and over. This happens during AP Flight level changes and altitude holds. You definitely want to create curves for your pitch axis. Also rudder was very sensitive for me and I reduced rudder input by 50%.
