If you want to use the Nintendo Switch button layout, you can click the steam button > setting > controller then there a setting to use Nintendo button layout.

@1:26 The "weird strap" is a holder that covers the back for when you store your charger, cables, etc when traveling with case.

It's also perfectly sized for the Steam Dock optional extra
The weird strap is actually for using with roller luggage. You can slide it on the extendable arm on your carry on luggage when your traveling. Makes it super convient when flying so it doesn't have to be in your backpack!
@@Jmon3y32 Why not just be a multi-use elastic strap and slot which is particularly well designed for many useful peripherals.

The dip and strap on the back are a spot for your charger for when you travel.
Yay, you finally got your steam deck. How cool! This unboxing was nice to see. Oh, for the left track pad, it depends on the game but I normally see it not being used or it being used as a d pad. When you click a game and then click the controller icon and then click view layout, you can see what all the buttons are being used for in that game and you can even customize it too. I've had mine for a while now so I can try to help with any questions you have Mel 😊

all buttons and controls are customizable based on user preference. I use the touch pads often in desktop mode.

Usually the left track pad works as an alternative D-Pad I find in most games anyway
you know its a banger video when they have under 500 subs
I know I'm like 10 days late, but the trackpads on either side of the Deck are remappable per game, along with every other control input.
While it's not a graphical powerhouse, it's no slouch, and I've been playing Breath of the Wild on it for quite a while now

Trackpads are for desktop mode and typing, not sure how you bought it and didn’t know that lol
Ngl i love then for gaming. The accuracy in shooters is greatly improved when I use them since im not a big fan of gyro

You asked about the controls in Steam Deck, there are no such thing as "what they suppose to do" in Steam Deck. That's the philosophy behind Linux and the open platform. You get to choose what they do. A complete opposite of what you're probably are used to with consoles. People do get overwhelmed with so much freedom and option but that's just a sign saying you're were trapped with no option at all before. You'll get used to it. Explore and tinker yourself. That's the whole point of Open platform.
What can you say about the screen quality? Do you think the 512GB model have a better screen?
All of the steam deck models have the same res but the 512gb one has an anti glare screen coming with it
How long did you have to wait for it to get to you once you ordered?
I preorded mine a while ago so it took a few months but this was back when there weren't as many available. I think you should be able to get it a lot quicker now though!
I ordered mine 3 days ago and I just got my tracking number yesterday. it's arriving in 3 days. So probably one week total.

That’s not the 256GB, that’s the 64GB. The 256GB comes with a exclusive carrying case that has a colored steam logo on it, and the inside of the case is a light grey…
