You’d think he was homeless, but his family growing up lived with very bad hygiene and I still love the dude. Just from 6feet or more

I was on a flight to Orlando once and the guy next to me smelt SO bad that we had to divert the plane... It was awful... He must have not showered in months or something. It was so bad that it didn't even smell like normal B.O.. Smelt like something toxic. I mentioned it to the flight attendant, who responded, "Oh we know, we smell it from up here" (I was in the back of the plane).. When confronted, the man was very defensive and borderline aggressive.. had to have cops come in to escort him off when we landed (which he did without incident); and when the cops approached, one cop literally turned his head away and said, "Oh my God" with the most serious expression 😆
You know there is a genetic condition called TMAU which can cause a person to smell like that. And the smell doesn't come off nomatter what they do, even if they shower as many times as they please. There are also no cures. So people who live with this have to deal with that type of reaction from the public everywhere they go and living a normal life is hard for them. Most people with the condition end up having suicidal thoughts and some of them act them out.

It is? Wow, all this time I just thought I was being a sensitive crybaby. There's this girl in my class whom I didn't even know existed until she approached me. She didn't really have friends so I pitied her. She approached me, saying things like "I don't have many friends and you're the only person I know here so please be my friend". I was dumbfounded until she explained that we live in the same town and that she saw me walk my dogs a few times. She also mentioned that she knew me because my parents are well known for being the town's mechanics. Oh, she also told me that she said "hi" to me once. ONCE.
On the day she approached me, she already made me VERY uncomfortable but I tolerated her. She was so weird and gross! The pandemic is still around right? We still wore masks that time. She. Wouldn't. Stop. Touching. Me. She made me go to the nurses office with her EVERY TIME and would always try to HOLD MY HAND/ARM. She'd yank my arm, she'd wrap her arms around my arm, she'd hug me, she'd slap my back whenever I said something "funny" and she wouldn't leave me alone! I sent her a text and told her I wanted to be classmates only. No more, no less because she clearly doesn't understand what "boundaries" meant. She was like "ok" but still did the same thing! I love every Lyft driver I have ever ridden with - my husband died a few years ago and I do not drive so you guys are lifesavers - but one driver I had a year ago, smelled so badly that I quite literally gagged all the way to my destination. I have been in Lyft cars which have not smelled as fresh as I'd have liked, but these men drive for hours and sometimes even begin a shift after working a primary job for eight hours. Anyway - I would never make a rude or embarrassing comment or affect a driver's rating/livelihood by leaving a poor rating or comment...I tried as best I could to ignore the offensive aroma because the man was so polite and kind.
I hate using public toilets too and if i have to use one i refuse to sit down on the toilet seat and usually just squat on the floor instead. if i squat low enough i dont even have to wipe after so I'm actually saving precious time by squatting on the floor

It might be overboard to call him out on it immediately but it signals to the driver that this guy might attempt to continue to be more disrespectful until he finds out what the limit is. He hangs out with the more reasonable guy because the reasonable guy helps keep him out of trouble. The reasonable guy probably hangs out with him because he likes what the disrespectful guy can provide for him socially or financially.

It is? Wow, all this time I just thought I was being a sensitive crybaby. There's this girl in my class whom I didn't even know existed until she approached me. She didn't really have friends so I pitied her. She approached me, saying things like "I don't have many friends and you're the only person I know here so please be my friend". I was dumbfounded until she explained that we live in the same town and that she saw me walk my dogs a few times. She also mentioned that she knew me because my parents are well known for being the town's mechanics. Oh, she also told me that she said "hi" to me once. ONCE.
On the day she approached me, she already made me VERY uncomfortable but I tolerated her. She was so weird and gross! The pandemic is still around right? We still wore masks that time. She. Wouldn't. Stop. Touching. Me. She made me go to the nurses office with her EVERY TIME and would always try to HOLD MY HAND/ARM. She'd yank my arm, she'd wrap her arms around my arm, she'd hug me, she'd slap my back whenever I said something "funny" and she wouldn't leave me alone! I sent her a text and told her I wanted to be classmates only. No more, no less because she clearly doesn't understand what "boundaries" meant. She was like "ok" but still did the same thing! She'd always guilt trip me into going to the nurses office with her because of her headaches.
"Please! You're my only friend! I don't have anyone else! I also just barfed!" she said. I was worried about her so I took her to the nurses office. She would NOT stop touching me. I kept pushing her hand away but she just kept holding my arm tighter. And the expression on her face just made me want to punch the shit out of her. She looked like she was "scared" and she probably thought she was being quirky too but I just thought she was creepy. I expressed my feelings about her behaviour POLITELY multiple times and yet, she stays the same. She'd stare at me when I was hanging out with my friends and when we made eye contact, she'd still stare at me. Hell, she probably even follows me. She even asked me to go to the bathroom with her once. Wtf, lady??

I love every Lyft driver I have ever ridden with - my husband died a few years ago and I do not drive so you guys are lifesavers - but one driver I had a year ago, smelled so badly that I quite literally gagged all the way to my destination. I have been in Lyft cars which have not smelled as fresh as I'd have liked, but these men drive for hours and sometimes even begin a shift after working a primary job for eight hours. Anyway - I would never make a rude or embarrassing comment or affect a driver's rating/livelihood by leaving a poor rating or comment...I tried as best I could to ignore the offensive aroma because the man was so polite and kind.

Shoulder slapping is friendly amongst friends that already know each other and have established friendship. Shoulder slapping a stranger is like saying "hey, I can invade your personal space and will probably take it a little further the next time if you let this slide." It's very disrespectful, although the driver handled it well. It might be overboard to call him out on it immediately but it signals to the driver that this guy might attempt to continue to be more disrespectful until he finds out what the limit is. He hangs out with the more reasonable guy because the reasonable guy helps keep him out of trouble. The reasonable guy probably hangs out with him because he likes what the disrespectful guy can provide for him socially or financially.
