I do my seals with the door down so I'm sure that it's making a good seal. And the vert seals I cut the vinyl on a 45*.

Literally scrolled down to say the same thing lol. I also do my molding with the door down. And I don't measure. Top piece I just start nailing in from right to left. When I get a couple feet from the end, I make small cuts and dry fit until it's perfect. Same for the verts. Start nailing in from the bottom so it's touching the floor and when I get close to the top, small cuts, dry fit, perfect.

great explanation, I have a Thermacore 190 door. is it possible to replace the existing bulb style retainer with a universal retainer so I can get a "beefyer" type universal seal?

      That's an excellent question.
Is the Thermacore a tongue and groove garage door section?

@@sosgds thanks fo rthe reply. YES, its a Thermacore a tongue and groove. is it possible to replace the existing bulb style retainer with a universal retainer so I can get a "beefyer" type universal seal? Maybe even screw a universal retainer over the top?

I always use painted nails. I tap/preset nails then install as that is so much easier than setting them one by one on the door frame. I never use pvc as it has the tendency to break, especially if you have to remove or readjust, or in you are installing in cold, (although some colors cannot be had in vinyl) I always measure half over on a 16' wide or 18' wide then mark a line, then measure from line over. If need be, tap a brad nail in and run the tape off that. Always install with the door closed.

So far this year for my family room I am either going to go with a 85" 900D or a 98" Hisense UX.

Don't forget to install a garage door seal around that 85" or 98" tv and remember to measure twice!

@@rct8884 when I got up this morning I made 8 Eggo buttermilk waffles and put real maple syrup on them. The best I’ve ever had. I felt so good and then I went back to bed for a nap.

I would have thought you had to do it with the door shut

    • @sosgds

Excellent point. You actually can. I prefer to install the seal with the door open.

You measured short (82 and 3/8th) and you cut even shorter at 81.5" hehe good to see the pros making some mistakes and still going forward with the video, well done!

Too late, those glasses make you look ridiculous. Looks like it is mostly cloudy outside. I simply couldn't make it through the video to see what the "Key Step" was.
