this game is ass now, I remember when there was like 5 weapons and it was all about dashing and wall running and just being really mobile.

this game jumped the shark a while back, im not going to watch your review because it will make me sad but to summarize the changes that ruined it: rental items, broken cash shop items, broken cash shop items given out during events, the community and net code got worse. it wasn't all at once but it sucks super hard when you really like a game and it just keeps getting worse.

Probably a good move. I could actually hear the joy leaving MegaGWolf's soul as he was playing alongside us, until he left the match with this nearly deflated, and totally defeated, "Yeah, I'm just going to go." This would be one of the situations where I would fully advocate a private hosting that reinstated the game to its original playstyle.

Yeah I remember the first broken cash shop item I got to encounter was some heavy machine gun, that would kill any character wearing basic armor in about 3-4 hits.
I just gave up when they wouldn't really allow you to buy weapons anymore, just rent them.

ChaosD1 That sounds like it almost physically hurt to listen to. Also, DFO global comes back in early 2015. You planning to revisit it once Neople finishes releasing it personally instead of letting Nexon re-butcher it?

sunderkeenin I actually like the fact that stuff like heavy machine gun (+11 fp) is so overpowered. I learned how to dodge better and how to survive to it and kill who was using it. I'm not a veteran player, I started something like a year ago, but I think that any weapon in the games has his weak points, and if you can find them and get used to them, you'll have no problem. The problem comes with Mk2, which is just waaaaaay too op, that stuff is litterally MADE to be op

I remember when I played this game when it first came out it was different from other arena shooters in that time it was different and fresh with its anime style and sp mechanic. Wall jumping, dodges, skill use all relied on sp so it actually mattered how you would use it because there was no pay item that could boost Sp heavily. the music really flowed with the maps and the other players would be friendly and cooperative such as picking roles such as tanks who protected the strikers or base and had heavy fire power and health, strikers who would be mobile and all arounders, snipers covering for the striker, infiltrators who would disrupt the enemy snipers and defence (cloaking was actually very hard to tell if you weren't focused on searching for them and they wouldn't walk in front of your targeting cursor) and most of all we had the will to win as well as have fun. Money mattered as well because permanent weapons and repair costs were expensive giving a use for all that excess money even the pay items that existed only gave slight edge on base stats not by percentage so skill could overcome it. I played this game for 4 years and it was the best game I ever played in my life so far but I knew that I had to leave eventually as they introduced the cash shop made permanent weapons rental and hackers started to spread shunning veteran's and newbies alike, ruining the atmosphere, and the publishers who would not do anything about it... however no matter how long it felt like something was missing in my life I just couldn't forget the the joy I had in this game, the effort I put into it, and the people I met and friends I played with. I wanted to see someone who recently played it review it so I could see if the experience I had back then is still here now even if only a little. I've seen your review and I feel that after this long rant I just wanted to tell you THANK YOU for confirming that the game that I loved is not here and it will never be back and that I have no choice but to forget and move on.

You're actually getting flack for probably the fairest review for Mabinogi I've seen? I mean sure there are a couple of things you got wrong but you're only human and you've clearly learned from that and have looked deeper into the games you've reviewed more recently. As long as you own up to your mistakes it should be fine. Leave it to fanboys to get defensive as hell though.
But yeah, I can agree wholeheartedly with this s4 review. On top of the things you listed the community is also awful in all kinds of ways (racism, sexism, overall assholery) and plus the whole "one person lags means everybody lags" server is complete and utter bull.

"Hm, S4 League, I wonder if it's the same as it was before, what with the hacking and unbalanced weaponry used by elitist jerks who looked down on me because I don't have a K/D ratio like them and I prefer to be a team player by healing others on a European server because there's only five people on my own server."
    .....
    "Yep!"

oh man. I used to play this game back in '08. It was so much fun but then I tried i again very recently and it's definitely a shadow of what it once was. The weapons are unbalanced, people hardly play in certain maps (many of which were my favorites back in the day), and hackers are still prevalent! Also, the people who still play this are all extremely good at this game making it nearly impossible for new players to play.

Everything was so fun........ Before the Aeria took over and started to sell OP perms that is. I'm a free player and i was lucky enough to get a perm costume and two other perms from an event and random shop. I'm not surprised if S4 League is going to shut down........but that doesn't mean I'll stop playing though.

I'm a ex-S4 player and let me tell you this game went downhill, and it hit the ground hard. I use to play it way back then when clothes didn't give stats, cash shop stuff was just cool looking costumes and weapons like storm bats being new. Back then when the community were nice and friendly, not calling you a "noob" or "nub" all the time you kill them. Those were the days, but I digress.
Now the game turned into Pay 2 Win. If you don't believe me, look at the divided community when you first start. The Alter-Players, I call them, don't like playing against people who use cash shop items in the higher level channels because they get killed off so easily by them. So they create alternate accounts to go back to the newbie channels. (Because channels have level restriction) And they call their selves "pros"...
Real newbies that comes to the game, usually get called names, or kicked out the room for being less experience. They usually end up quitting the game, or have to be force to the free channel, which they may get kicked out or destroyed by cash shop or better experience players. It's a game I really feel bad for new people.
The game is worst when hackers actually have the power to spawn npcs to kill players, steal cash shop items, and cause a crash to everyone in a room. GMs don't exist for more then one day a month, and the weapons in the game is so unbalanced. How is a hammer that can do some major damage be swung faster then a bat? Why in the world would you make a cash shop homing rifle in a online shooter game that deals a lot of damage!? The twin blades needs a calldown time after one combo!
This game has it's fun moment, but at this point. It is like a abusive husband who is good in the bed, but usually hurts you. I gaved up when I tried my best to kick a hacker in a room, instead, I got kicked out for being a "White Knight" while they were asking for hacks. It's ashame a game like this still goes on, but a game like FreeJack died.

    • @Woofdeath13
      @Woofdeath13 10 ปีที่แล้ว

Im pretty sure clothes always gave stats. You could fumbi good ones pretty easy and keep them by alt f4ing before leaving a room when they timed out. I remember having +4 smg stuff on everything. The cash shop would always give better things but not 4x better back at the start.
Some of what you said is true but you can still outplay people with the op melee weapons and you could troll hackers with the stone skin ability before they nerfed it for some reason.

    • @YuuMonMusuedo
      @YuuMonMusuedo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      *****
Not at the beginning, clothes didn't have stats. Then again, I believe that was around the time Cash Shop wasn't in. Still, the cash shop items are a bit too much. Fumbi stuff helps, but you will still run into problems with some people dressed for war.
People who gets plus movement equipment can really turn a Touch Down match around easily in melee only. Not really fun when you spend so much SP catching up to someone who looks like their just skipping with the ball walking almost 80% of your sprint speed. At that point, made me think that person was hacking or the cash shop items can really break a match.

    • @Woofdeath13
      @Woofdeath13 10 ปีที่แล้ว

Yuu-Mon Musuedo Again as far as I know there have always been stats from fumbied clothes. My friend started in beta and he talked about fumbing things as well. When I started he had his game set(where he'd alt f4 not to lose it) and teaching set where he wouldn't have to. That was in may of 2009.
And again. You can move faster then people if you move right. You can also wall jump without stam if you do it right so getting out moved isn't abnormal with our without cash items. Butttttt cash shop items are still crazy and broken. Making skill less important.

I played the game when it first started. I enjoyed it immensely even with all it's faults, because the action was fun, wall jumping was a blast, and the community (for the most parts) was fantastic ... but, unfortunately, it all got steadily worse and worse.
Cash shop items at the start only gave a slight advantage ... but they soon got more and more powerful ... to the point where I'd unload 2 full clips into someone and they'd still be standing ... and they'd shot me with 3 bullets and I'd drop dead in flames, not a fun experience for a free player.
The hackers weren't as obnoxious, I mean. I remember playing a game where one literally just threw walls everywhere and turned a Touch Down Match into a Team Death Match because he blocked the goals, for both teams, it was kind of funny. But nowadays, it's either hack or pay to win
The community as well became poisonous ... and even with my friends still playing it, I couldn't bring myself to love this game any more.
It's heart breaking to see a game you loved go down the drain. It's not about it not ageing well for me, I can still enjoy old games from my childhood, even if I'm aware there are way better games out now, it's about how it's grown into something I don't even recognise any more.

I really liked this way back then. Back when the game had some ~8 weapons, counter swords insta-gibbed everyone, all items were permanent with outrageous repair costs and the cash shop was barely there. Quit as soon as they started rolling out the random cash shop capsules with better weapons in them, and glad I did now.

better is an understatement they were twice as effective as the free counterpart and got damage, fire rate and magazine size bonuses whenever you got a kill. the word you were looking for was "blatantly broken pay to win weapons."

The game's quality may have suffered immensely over the years. It's still the only game with this type of theme and frantic gameplay, while still maintaining a decently active playerbase of 3-4k players at any given time.
Nothing is more satisfying than succeeding at the long rush to the goalpost in TouchDown mode, or working with your team to dwindle enemy defenses in an attempt to help the ball carrier get to the goalpost. This review puts very poor emphasis on the mode that is this game's single biggest redeeming factor, and the most popular, competitively oriented mode at that.

Ok, I'm so glad you got into this since this was a game I was interested in a reviewer doing. As for everything you are saying, I have to agree and I was a hardcore veteran during the beta test to launch. I started playing back in 2007-08 with the Korean version and the initial launch of the game was definitely an amazing experience. It was new, fresh and fun. The soundtrack would be best listened to with sounds off which does help you focus more but you gotta keep your eyes open. People jumped heavily in not just innovation during game modes, but the tension was both fun and fulfilling. The game I see today is just too sad to be even called a game at this rate. I would have cared to seen a waaaay better company take this game and fix it instead of handing it off like what happened to Rising Force Online. So much potential but its wasted when people who don't care to up the game just pass it off. Thanks though for doin the review of this game.

I agree with you 100%. The cash shop was always broken, especially when you got into higher level game play. I found myself always making new accounts just so I didn't have to deal with the cash shop people in higher ranks. Even going back to it now my first DM I had a guy spamming dagger in one spot killing everyone. The cash shop and hackers killed this game. I don't even understand how it's fun to stand in one spot and left click.

It's pretty sad what happened to this game. I put soooo much time into it back in the day. It completely lost its sense of direction over the years - used to have such an interesting, enjoyable art style on top of solid gameplay.

If this is accurate, the best thing for S4 is if it dies. Maybe a third-party could figure out what went wrong and revitalize the game in some way.
Also, taking a break from audience suggestions might be a good idea.

I was kicked out of a "no CASH" room for having permanent gear purchased with hard-earned in game money. This gear was purchased before Perm-buy was stopped and became full rental, but nobody believed such a time even existed. I found it ironic that I was kicked out for Pay2Win gear(that i didn't have) while every other player ACTUALLY had them but weren't held in suspicion. I first left because of hackers, I left again because players expect you to have mastered high-end skills no matter how new or out-of-touch you are with the game.

Well some things to make clear.(Careful can be a long time reading if any typos or mistakes are found keep them:3)
-The cash shop is from Korea its not done by aeria the only cash shop they do is on their homepage.
-Those stats were assigned by the Korean Creator of the game.
-There infact is a training mode with ai which certainly was out when you played it under the training section(For TD and DM).
-The engrish is due to Aeria and them just patching in google translated Korean.(i agree with that)
-Pay2win aspect iam not quite sure about that sure stats are higher but 3+ dmg on 1 weapon(Yes the +10+11% are only percentage increases) does only make 3HP hit difference and also armor comes in contact to that again reducing the dmg by a certain percentage.
-Slugish movements meh it still has better mechanics than other games i played and has a ton of ways to play it and is there for the most beloved of all games for me.You for example did not even show wall jump mechanics weapon combos and other stuff(not talking about Exobeam since its impossible unless you put a lot of time into the timing)but you could have shown simple things like wingdash using the fly skill and counter sword to dodge midair, comet holding the countersword counter pressing the button 1 2 or 3 where you plasma sword is and still dodge while holding the counter and you could have atleast shown a more action packed match instead of just walking around some wall jumps and weapon combos.
-Hacker geez they are in the game since forever there is a kick function just kick them but since aeria there is less hackers and sometimes they are nice people you can have fun with.
-Talking about bad graphics for this game is absurd...Its no realism simulator its an anime shooter.Well it could have some more colourful attacks of course but than you would have the same problem a big mmo like World of warcraft suffered giant frame drops overall no sight due to your character covered in an acid trip with rainbows.
    *-Now To the mode critisism.*
-You clearly complained of the warfare mode being badly designed and abusable if you done a little research you would have known that this was a tempoary mode that the korean developer implemented to see how it works and even stated in their Korean homepage release text: This mode is not final we will see how the community likes the idea and it will later be worked on.
-Practice mode it is just for practice on your own for walljumps and all that.
-No training mode avaible with AI.. As stated above there is infact an AI tutorial besides the begining engrish tutorial for DM and TD.Also there is a training telling you how every single weapon and skill works.
*-Now some things you didnt cover.*
-Daily missions simple tasks with rewards making it possible to get those cash shop stats and extra pen
-Achievement System slighty harder and more time consuming but if you and a few friends farm them than you get free cash items permanent upon completion.
-The daily lootbox you get with a cooldown of 24hours using the Aeria ignite launcher also chance to get cash items.
-The i-caps aka weapon caps with cash shop stats for pen(old I caps cost 8,600pen newer ones of newer weapons cost 9,600pen) with the chance to get it permanent just for playing the game.
    - The weapon/skill training area this aswell gives you a free reward with the change of a special skin cashshop item. And even 1 cap of each unique skin reskin with certain improvements like less sp usage/more range or more Hp for the block/wallskill.
    - The crafting menu there infact is besides enchanting a crafting section where you can earn gears for dismantling times items like the ones you get from the fumbi for pen.Dismantling 1 clothing part gives you 10 days 1xgear 1 ,31 days 1xgear 2, 71 day 1xgear 3, 121 days 1x gear 4. For weapons its 3xeach gear on the specific days and you also get them in the fumbi timed. If now comes the thought how do i get 71 days? You buy I-caps get weapons 10 days on the new one each time or on the old ones 3 10 35 days. Also if you are unlucky than you can craft small gears into bigger gears. The only uncraftable gears are the core and the cell. The Core if implemented into your craft gives you a +11% dmg weapon permanent. If you implement the cell than you get +8% permanent or the chance of getting a +11% dmg weapon. Those 2 you can get from permanent items the stats of those permanent items do not matter aslong as its permanent.
    - Another thing you didnt cover was the coupon shop well you didnt bother covering coupons at all so here is what you can do with them and how to get them.Either you get them from cash shop item capsules you buy 2 Coupons per cap or you buy I caps and also get 2 coupons. With 50 Coupons you can roll in the fumbi coupon section where you get either timed Chips(which you also didnt cover) that give you small increases to your gear, capsules that have 1/7 or 30 capsules of a random set capsule depending on for which gender you roll the fumbi or 1/7 or 30 cash weapons capsule random aswell but you get 30 of 1 weapon out of it.
-Fumbi you kinda mentioned it but you didnt cover it.
-The scenario rewards and difficulty settings
Well that is it from me i maybe will add later on to this list if i feel the need to do so incase i missed something
    Greetings Littlemisstwibow

A lot of this can be considered good info for those looking for more about the game, but this is and always has been a newbie's show from a newbie's perspective.
I don't "research" things, I only report on what I've experienced within the game, or quote and mention things that others might have experienced. With nothing telling me that Warfare was in a "beta" or "work in progress" all I saw was a broken, boring mode that nobody was playing.
On the Pay2Win argument. Everyone tries to defend it with "oh, it's not that much of a difference!" but it's still a difference. I made mention of this because
it was nearly the same in F.E.A.R. Online, but FEAR's headshot mechanic made it so even the weakest rifle was deadly in the hands of a strongest player. Conversely, let's place two equally skilled players wielding the same type of gun, except one player has the cash shop versions of everything. Have them both aim at each other and fire the entire magazine at each other at the same time. The "3HP of difference" and boosted defenses of cash shop bedecked player would win every single time. Because they paid. Pay2Win.
The publisher unquestionably does have a certain amount of control over the content, especially in the cash shop. They choose the currency exchange rate. They likely set the prices, and again in F.E.A.R. Online, the stats of the weapons were adjusted stealthily in a patch. The developer might have a say in it, but it still doesn't excuse the fact it exists. That's classic blame shifting.
Case in point: Trion publishing ArcheAge. The Korean labor system is 10 times more restrictive than the one in place for Trion's publication. They were able to change it to something less painful, but the Korean developer allegedly would not let them be more forgiving. Knowing Trion, they probably would have at least allowed for a point to be gained while offline. This still proves that a publisher does have control over aspects of the game. See also EnMasse, TERA, and the Elin model reskin.
Graphics can be bad despite being stylistic. Everyone wanted to harp on WoW for its graphics, and that was a stylistic choice. There are plenty of anime looking games that look fantastic. Ragnarok 2 and Aura Kingdom immediately. come to mind. While I felt S4 was stylistically sound, it was the execution of that style that made it feel dated and sloppy. Running animations were so choppy my character looked like an AT-ST when moving. Some movements and animations were noticeably stiffer than others. There were plenty of 1 pixel thick textures like the foliage and metal staircases. Backgrounds were colorful and imaginative while we fought in a grey cement building covered in same-sized boxes with the same plain wooden texture. It was all over the place.
"Just kick the hackers" is like saying "Just put the cockroach outside". The problen isn't that they exist, it's that they are allowed to exist with clearly no consequence for the actions... and the more hackers that show up the less legit players are going to want to play far fear of running into them. You can't kick a hacker until you've found out they are hacking, in a match, and by that time the match is ruined, just like no one is going to want to eat the rest of the salad when they see the roach crawl out of it. The fact that Aeria is doing nothing about them is a sign they don't care, and that kind of dismissive attitude towards hacks and bots is the same kind of crap that led Guild Wars 2's economy into the toilet for so long. Saying something isn't a problem isn't a damnation of the game. If there's a problem, address it, or it will just get worse.
I was saying there was a AI bots training mode. I never said there wasn't. The line "I don't see any other reason to play [Practice mode] as AI bots in a PvE mode would be far more interesting and challenging fight" doesn't mean I was lamenting the absence of one.
Choose Training, pick "Combat" which the description reads "practice your tactics for various modes in S4 League against AI". After clicking "combat" you can choose "Touchdown" "Deathmatch" or "Chaser".
Touchdown takes place on "Station-2" and Deathmatch on "Neden-1". (I didn't check Chaser, so I don't know what map that is in.)
In the Deathmatch room, I didn't receive any tutorial guidance. I was loaded into a lobby with a ton of AI bots named things like "Deviant" "Loop" "Radical" "Lena" and "Demon" and it played out exactly like a regular match.
That is very much, by definition, an AI bots practice mode.

ChaosD1 Well since iam reading this at the moment. To the hacker thing you want to know why my reply to that was like that? because in the korean version there are no hacker/barely anything like that due to korea using KSSN numbers and there is only 1 per person. So if they get banned their kssn gets banned too for certain games. Most likely no korean citizen is going to bother hacking. So they wont bother updating the coding of the game anytime soon.
Also Aerias anti hack shield called "Hackshield" is to easy to by pass in general and doesnt stop hackers at all. Only a recoding/revamp of S4league could but the publishers wont do it since they have no need to do it.

I used to play S4 back in the golden age, during Season 1, where there is only 3 melee weapons in the game, which made the game very balanced. Also, unlimited ammo for all guns.
Maps are deceptively simple, such as Neden 1,2,3 and Station 1 and 2. However, once you mastered Walljumps combos, the map really opens up, even without the need for flying or anchors. (I ran +30 hp for the longest time)
Fighting feels very fast -paced when you master wave-dashing, cancels and 'bunny-hopping'.You'll never see experienced S4 players walk, they will be constantly sprinting, dashing and generally being extremely evasive. There is a huge learning curve, but an extremely high skill-cap as well.
A skilled player in training gear will be able to get kills against players with cash-shop gear, which speaks volumes of how non-pay to win it used to be. In fact, skilled players will be able to play melee only in a -all weapons- match, or even duel effectively in melee range against melee opponents with a railgun (sniper rifle).
That is until the introduction of various broken weapons, the enchant system (which made the game a lot more pay-to-win), and the 'meta' of having +11% Homing rifles + absurd +dmg gear. And the influx of hackers. And all the random weapons that ultimately broke the game.
I used to love this game, and still check on it every few years. But for the past 5 years, i have lost all hope for the game. =(

The Game Evolves, The Players Evolve, Adapt or Die thats just how it works in s4. I can go into a touchdown game with all pen stats(1%) and out maneuver and out play all the ap(11%) players. Stats can make a difference but if your good, and not incredibly slow and klunky like this guys review gameplay was, then you can do good.

Well I started to play this game 1 or 2 days ago.
And I gotta say that I actually enjoy it.
When I played it first time then people were friendly to me and everything went well.
I said with joke that " Hi guys. I am new here can you go easy on me? " and everybody were actually like. Wow new player, it is awesome. OK we will go easy on you :)
and yeah I enjoy it and I haven't seen any toxic players right now.
It is kinda unbalanced and I gotta agree with it, but I don't feel like it is Pay2Win game.
I went with normal Katana into 1v3 and all 3 of them had items bought from AP or somehow got good items. and I actually won this 1v3. I already can kinda wall jump and stuff kinda well.
I don't feel like community is bad. I see pretty many people there. I see many servers and most of them have at least 10 players and max are like 12 or 16.

Sad to hear how far this game has fallen. I showed up during their Open Beta phase, back when games could and would go through a near-permanent Open Beta for various reasons. Back then, yeah, like you said, there wasn't much else like it, and that's what made it fun. Weapons could be purchased permanently, though it took a fair bit of grinding, and the cash shop was near nonexistent. Of course, at that time there was also only two modes, Deathmatch and CTF.
I'd come and go with the game for a few years, showing up to play every time they'd get a new mode or weapon. I fondly remember playing Chaser with Swords Only and becoming incredibly skilled at exploiting wall jumps and sword dashes to climb terrain and, subsequently, avoid the Chaser. I never really got too into any other mode after that, and left pretty much for good around the time Battle Royal showed up. I have to admit, a part of me is surprised it's even still going, though I do feel one serious pang of regret that it's being kept alive with such a small amount of activity.

  • @CoupeDeJarnac

So when the game first came out... You could perma buy weapons with +1 stats. Shortly after the handgun nerf, and the shotgun release they took that away as people realized they could use those weapons perfectly fine over buying their cash shop rentals. This then lead to names like ChaosD1981... You'd think that was them just saying their year of birth, but no. There was a massive following of people who realized you get a crap ton of money at the start of the game to use on the fumbi shop lottery. Making almost 2 thousand accounts, instead of grinding for a week would eventually give you a +4 perma weapon through this process. I felt as though the game wasn't worth my time at that point, and my best friend agreed as we quit playing. I checked it out again later as they had added maps, and had become so over run with people I got behind, and 4 shot crit them with a revolver only for them to have full health... Long story short... It's dead Jim.

  • @TheinMoka
    @TheinMoka 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah...
I'm one of the players from the heyday. It wasn't just recently that the game has experienced a decline, either. I'd say it began around when they started making these season-based updates. Most often the weapons were crap, and they introduced even more insane armor and weapons that were pay-to-get. It was always a let down because there were some fantastic players on the game who couldn't win simply because people shot them down in two-three shots, while it took us twenty or so... Ridiculous.
I've tried playing recently. Definitely lost its vibe. And the community was as cliquish and stupid as ever. As nostalgic as this game is to me, it's also dead, and I say: rest in peace. I will always miss the fantastic Station 2 memories and Neden 1, 2, and 3... :(

Two MMO games i used to play long time ago that have suffered and went way down hill because of very bad and very poor decisions from publishers/developers.
S4 League, and Rising Force online.
I remember playing both games and having a GREAT time, both had a unique feel to them and some very original ideas (at their time), today if you try playing either of them, the experience is nowhere near as it was in the old days.
Its just a shame these things happen, and i know there are plenty of other examples out there, and a lot of other people that feel the same way i do. Yet there is nothing we can do about it.

I tried the game recently, and I can verifiy all that you experienced from hacking to p2w and its also populated by 10-15 year old raging anime fanboys.
BUT for me the worst was the connection, i kept getting booted out, and the game just starts lagging like hell i mean 11000ping randomly kicking in after a few minutes or more? not being able to play a match from start to finish? and i might add i got a really great internet connection. So my advise is to stay the hell away and find something else

S4 League is currently experiencing a major issue with logins, people are logging into other people's accounts. Before that, the game was hacked to a point where one person was crashing every room in all the servers at once. The community is much worse, most of which will force you into hard language barriers and ego maniacs. Once you get past the Amateur Rank you are going to be forced into the Free 1 channel, where anyone of any rank can play. From here on expect rooms to be unfairly stacked against you until you learn the hard way how to do well. btw I hope you like Station-2 cause that's going to be the only map you'll be able to play. If you absolutely want to play this game if it gets fixed, don't expect to be amazed. Also you should avoid "s5", they are a part of the community bent on making the game competitive by flaming everyone they come into contact with, usually behind each others' backs but sometimes in game. To make things short and sweet, Party's Over, time to play a new game.

I find that a lot of these old small free to play games have wonderful concepts that are either executed poorly or are ruined by poor localization and/or cash shops.
I wish there were AAA developers looking to make a polished and refined game like S4 League, taking on tips from its stylization and what the gameplay clearly _sought_ to be while improving the graphics and presentation, and making it a buy to play multiplayer focused title rather than a free to play pay to win "MMO".

S4 League has indeed fallen from grace. As it has aged, changed hands several times, and has incrementally lost it's unique character it once had. Yet even though it has lost it's original luster i still love it. I have played it for several years and though i mainly speak of the melee only modes i still find it to be engaging with high skill game play that unfortunately has a wash of faceroll strategies with the more recent weapons. I would quit if i knew of a game with the similar feel of speed and simplistic but deep game play but have yet to find a competent challenger.

I think it was back in beta when this game was really at its peak. It had fewer game modes back then, Touch down and Deathmatch only I believe and it was far better for it. Fewer weapons as well, but the big thing to note was that it had no cash shop yet and of course had a pretty active community. As sad as it is to see the cash shop it has now, initially it was even worse. Back when it was introduced, the only way for non paying players to get permanent weapons/gear was to use a randomized slot machine thing that had a small chance to give you permanent gear. That said, its depressing to see its still in this kind of state, but glad I didn't have to experience it myself to find out again.

the game ist getting better since it's possible to get every item with luck. so you can get a permament set with the best states whitout paying by just doing daily missions and open a box you can open all 24 hours. also you showed DM and SIEGE which isn't s4 league. because the top of s4 league is Touchdown (just catch the ball and put it into the opponent goal) on the map Station 2 heres a video on how amazing the game ist

I used to have a potato for a computer before I went all out on a monster rig after spending years of saving up and now I can play Warframe at 200fps max settings and it's a joy after so many years of putting up with a potato! It's a REALLY expensive investment doing it all in one go but you're probably better off doing that so you can avoid bottlenecking and your system can run at a great pace pretty much all the time.

I was planing on going for it step by step, first getting a better mainboard, but if I go with one that uses DDR4-Ram, it would mean instantly having to buy the DDR4-Ram AND the fitting CPU to boot. I atleast found some older games, that work well. xD

DanieluYoshikoto It's up to you how you do it really :I It's really just a suggestion to avoid bottlenecking because that's something you really don't want and will make games run like utter arse x_x Good thing I did that, otherwise my GTX 980 would utterly destroy my old dual core CPU so I waited until I could buy an i7 5820k at the same time!

You went into this game very skeptical, I do get the thought of not going through guides and forums a bit so you can really get the new player feeling, but in your video you barely make walljumps try to improve even from the start or even just running, you're just walking while you're just dissing it on every field... For me I play this game Swords and have become pretty good at it, iff you can really do jumps and know tricks, maybe can fight a bit, you'll really feel the speed of the game.
O, and you took a black skin color set with pink hair...

Sam Ragnar I also like how you compare a human being ''Nicki Minaj'' to that character inside the game, very nice.
