There isn't anything weird about the splitters that I can see otherwise. If anything, the splitter should work similarly to a container, and there not be a time lag.
A better question about Alien Life. Would we even recognise Alien Intelligence if we found it. How Arrogant and Narcissistic to assume that Extra-Terrestrial life would look like us. There is just as much chance of that as it being of a form we simply cannot recognise nor relate to.
Hey @WhatDarrenPlays, is the new 1.0 series going to be Modular smaller factories all over the world and connected together via some transport? (similar to Update 8.0 and current Stream) Or One Giant Factory and pouring resources from various nodes into that Giant Factory? Or A hybrid of both?
About fuel for drone I think the fuel per minute is bugged. I think it’s still using the burn rate for batteries instead of the current fuel you are using. So for example in the video the drone that is transporting fuel used 30 fuel per trip and it did the trip ever 55 minutes. That makes a burn rate of roughly 0.5 fuel per minute (30/55) so too get the true number divide fuel per trip whit the trip time.

fuel is packaged as 100 per stack, so thats 30 of the 100
