I made a blueprint of what I've managed to place and placed it again on the designer, but turned it 180 degree and finished the reing. A bit tricky, but doable

Sweet, and totally blueprintable in a Mk3 Blueprint Designer now that those are a thing! The exits bug me slightly though, and it's not because of the Path Signals... I thought rails had to be a full foundation apart _edge to edge, not center to center,_ for Block Signals to not get confused into thinking adjacent rails are the same block? I guess you could widen it afterward to the requisite distance...
Looking at crossing paths, would this work roughly like an intersection with a slip lane? So that would be a straight intersection with say a right hand curve bypassing the intersection. Incredible work on making this so compact!
Really awesome design, so compact and functional! My only criticism is you shouldn't build onto the world grid (ie initial placement on terrain) with 1m blocks. They don't line up properly and your heights will never align when trying to attach to other structures. Only place those initial blocks as 2m or 4m, then you wont have height issues.
Liked the design, did my own blueprint ready to drop whenever I need it. If you want to put it into a blueprint designer, here's what you'll need: place a mk2 blueprint designer build as much of the ring as you can before the rail starting position starts to be out of bounds and you get the red icon, in my case I've managed to do half of the ring by starting with the rails parallel to the grid Save the blueprint and place it via the builder (not the designer itself), but rotate it 180 degree Finish the ring Now you have a roundabout blueprint

Manual driving will have issues most of the time with builds like this and using "h" trick to add more than 3 lanes. It should however work with the auto pilot.
The entire circle does NOT fit in the mk.2. however. You can blueprint the L section, by deleting all diagonal foundations after the first rail placements, but before connection so that you can rotate and print again in mk.2 blueprint designer. But don't close the circle. You'd be left with a centre of the middle foundation to line up with the existing rail with 4 single rail sections on each side. Works very well . Thank you sir.
It doesn't work for me (no server). After the first curved rail, impossible to put the next one "railroad track turns too sharply"... Someone have the blueprint of it?
the keys to this working properly are: PAY EXACT ATTENTION TO world grid, the first block needs to be snapping onto the world grid or the whole thing cant be so small. Second when you are rotating for the second set of four -THAT foundation block is almost ALWAYS OFF BY A SINGLE NUDGE if you have hover pack its easy to see from the air but from the ground its hard. so pay special attention to all 4 clipped corners because one of them is going to be off and needs to be equaled out on all sides. third when you snap the rail onto the edge and go over one and a half blocks and then try and snap to the next one over IF IT DOESNT WORK FROM HERE YOU MESSED UP PRIOR STEPS. lastly if your signals are treating the roundabout and some lanes as the same entity ive found that deleting old segments (ie first placed down connected rails) and placing down new ones fixes the order so try that before going on a wild goose chase. good luck
@@Deathislifeful yeah sorry man hahah but i have never built on the world grid since the day i started playing this game. But if it helps then its good advice!

@@Rxckxt It's the "turn around" part that makes roundabouts more appealing to me. Second when you are rotating for the second set of four -THAT foundation block is almost ALWAYS OFF BY A SINGLE NUDGE if you have hover pack its easy to see from the air but from the ground its hard. so pay special attention to all 4 clipped corners because one of them is going to be off and needs to be equaled out on all sides. third when you snap the rail onto the edge and go over one and a half blocks and then try and snap to the next one over IF IT DOESNT WORK FROM HERE YOU MESSED UP PRIOR STEPS. lastly if your signals are treating the roundabout and some lanes as the same entity ive found that deleting old segments (ie first placed down connected rails) and placing down new ones fixes the order so try that before going on a wild goose chase. good luck
@@Deathislifeful i never built this on the world grid. Other then that all good 👍
@@Rxckxt dang that sucks so far i only run into all these problems people are saying if its off. thanks for the vids keep up the good work
@@Deathislifeful yeah sorry man hahah but i have never built on the world grid since the day i started playing this game. But if it helps then its good advice!
I was having exactly this problem, snapping the blueprint mk 2 to the world grid and then snapping the foundation on it on the world grid solved the problem
I'm trying this out on my Dedicated server the 'H' trick does not work don't know if thats a server thing or not but this the roundabout I've been looking for. Help!!
@@gibdargeth i cannot confirm if the h key trick works on servers as i dont have access to one
When I try to build this I keep getting an error saying the Railroad Track turns too sharply any advice there? (This is for the step with building the circle)
please see the top pinned comment thanks
@@Rxckxt same problem here and not playing on a server. seems like 2 foundations are not enough
i've made the roundabout a blueprint in Mk2.
its so good now I just needed to connect the already placed rails.
@@being47 the train pathing doesnt work properly if you make a bp. You will need to re-lay the rail on the roundabout by hand
@@Rxckxt yeah i only need nudge the blueprint half foundation. And it works perfectly.
Could this fit in a mk3 bp designer?
@@ChampyOnPC almost. The ring does
@@Rxckxt I was able to fit the ring inside a mk2 blueprint designer. Unfortunately, the world I'm on with my brother doesn't have mk3 yet so I can't see if this allows me to put the exits in as well. I think it's possible though.
@@davelawhorn4315 it does not fit in the MK3, the ring does, the rest doesnt. But the main work can be done in mk3, so all is left is to connect the in and outgoing rails
I would love to have this blueprint please!
this is like 1/8 the area the ones ive been building thanks
I am trying to do this inside the 5x5 blueprint designer but it seems impossible because you can't place the rails when the default position would be outside the blueprint designer. Were you actually able to create this inside the designer?
@@welshmouse i can get the ring in but not the outer rails. The bp designer plus mod will be out soon i will just make it in that and put out the bp
@@Rxckxt I can't even get the inner circle to work. as soon as I try placing the rails I just get an error that they are outside the blueprint designer.
no the oil node! almost had a center piece with the oil haha
Has something changed? This worked perfectly last week - now when i make it i get turns too sharply message after doing the first 1/8th turn. I've checked and rechecked and im not sure why this is not working now.
@@casimircreer2295 will check when im home and report back but for now i can olny reccomend to save your game, relaod and retry. Usually fixes most issues
not sure mate but i just checked this 10 minutes ago and seems to be working for me, if you are still stuck you can join our discord and i have have a look with you
@@Rxckxt so I'm not on a server but I had to move my tracks one nudge wider than the video to make it work.
Also with infinite nudge it seems much easier to misplace the centre piece on the 45 turn. It's does snap centrally first time and you need to nudge it a bit.
But all good now thanks
you are best
i don't know why but is not working for me, but i can't place the paths because the switches are 2 close
can you make a tutorial for roundabouts for rails with a bigger gap in between?
@@felpslipexd im not sure i understand what you mean mate
@@Rxckxt like a roundabout that works for a bigger rail gap, instead of how you have yours (one on each corner of the foundation)
Does not work for me seemingly, one or several segments are deemed to be "turning too sharply", i've tried to rebuild from scratch several times but it's very inconsistent :(
same for me
if you guys have issues. start one movement above center to lay the tracks and still complete circle in the radius that is shown. With the outside tracks, Rxckxt shows come in one movement, i did one moveback from center and it all work out aswell.
@@hazy389 correct
I tried for an hour. Just refuses to work for me as well.
@@hazy389 If you mean make it one notch larger circle it also fails for me. I tried for almost an hour and never got this working.
Ther problem is not the clipping.
The problem is the left-hand traffic.
Satisfactory is made for right-hand traffic.
@@NightyBla it is made for both
Lastly, I presume you made this video in a pre-1.0 game version? Or are you not using the PAK Utility to fly?
@@SusannaSaunders its 1.0 im using the hoverpack, unlocks in tier 8
@@Rxckxt ah! the power poles must be behind you then! :D
@@SusannaSaunders actually i have connected up the wall power connectors under the foundations to hide them from view giving everything a cleaner look for you guys!
@@Rxckxt Ah! Now the biting makes sense! :D Nicely Done Sir!!!
Just switched to the Hoverpack in my own save. Ionized fuel is fun but not helpful with building!
doesn't work in blueprint area...is that right?
you can make the circle in the mk3 designer but you can get the other rails to connect
Can someone share a blueprint link of this ?
If you have right side traffic, the signals wouldn’t glitch into another (-:
tried that in Blueprint MK2 Designer never worked for me
I keep getting "railroad track turns too sharply!" whenever i try it. Help
@@matino0820 its because your not centred properly when you build. Just in the discord if you need help. Link on my yt page
@@Rxckxt i found the issue, i was building exactly in the center of the foundation. I moved it one tick away and it worked as per another comment here. Thanks!
path in and block out of intersetions.
Thx!
Bloody Aussie’s, good at cricket, rugby and now satisfactory. 😂only joking man, nice one. 👍
Why use round robin instead of diamond cross?
It does not change the space used and does not allow 90 degree passing each other.
excellent question. to answer that simply. preference. you are more then welcome to use other methods. i like the roundabout because it allows trains to turn around. although i do use other systems like t sections and such.
I have always used a roundabout with over/underpasses at major intersections
@@Rxckxt It's the "turn around" part that makes roundabouts more appealing to me. Sometimes I have a station situated such that trying to have it exit cleanly into both directions of a dual carriageway just isn't really feasible, so having periodic roundabouts lets me guarantee that a train can get pointed the right direction before too long. (Arguably "less efficient" but I'm not going for hyper-efficiency anyway.)
The "turn around" part never makes sense to me, that should just be derailment central because the curve is too tight.
@@AkariEnderwolf Yeah, it's one of those things where it doesn't pay to think too closely about how any of this works. A version of the MST3K Mantra definitely applies ("repeat to yourself it's just a [show/game/etc] I should really just relax").
