Love Chappie. He has that twinkle in his eye. I reckon he would stand your corner but you wouldn't want to upset him. Before we went full time racing I used to juggle racing and work and it was a killer at times and having the reliability of someone like yourself to ease the work load on the bike is a god situation to be in. Always enjoy the Simpson Desert Weopon vids and I hope Chappie vlogs the Epic Trek.
My personal opinion on your recent videos is a shorter MCT and an extra video or 2 throughout the week works really well as it keeps us guys and gals really happy with this varied content. Loving these videos mate thanks and nice work.👍
I hope you won’t forget the most vital piece of equipment to install on Chappy’s bike? A camera so we can watch the action! Another entertaining video, thanks Mark.
That thing truly is a weapon. I wasn't sold on the the yellow tank but now it's definitely the shizzle. Keen to see the final stages of the build . Cheers
Nice one Mark. Always good to see another Desert weapon vid. Nice job on the fender plate drill out, I was waiting on the 13 drill going through..Ha.. It's coming togethe nice!! Shout out to Chappy. 😉🏴👍
Love the DRZ 400E rode one Veitnam Laos Cambodia, never let me down, one puncture! But my God, the stock seat is an instrument of torture .Ended up strapping a pillow on seat with giggle straps, not cool looking, but saved my ass! Keep up twoth videos, great viewing.
Always great to see bonus Biker Bits vids popping up. Nice work mate the Dozer is coming together nicely. Talk him outta that sheepskin tho haha Chappy's not that old is he 😅👌
I got confused with the theory Mark, and I've actually done that job too. You did it though! Well explained! Note to Chappy: if you are looking for a front fender bag, Giant Loop do a good one. 👍😁
Mark’s you guys should put a filter skin on your air cleaner, halves the filter maintenance. Look like a stocking that goes over your air cleaner, all dirt riders should have them!!! Moose tubes ran them for years running around in the bush, can’t get a puncture and no time wastage.
That's a bummer mate. Just got back albeit in a car. Just made SA, (we live there) by 1 day before lockdown in QLD and have to say the roads were pretty good, just corrugated around Moomba. Wet at Haddon last week but navigable. Trying to do 3 states would be shit logistically. We had QLD and NT login apps, had to compete a border declaration for SA 7 days before arrival. I hope you guys get to do your trip but make sure its safe. Might take a bit longer but you'll get there. Some flys but not terrible.
@@tims728 Thanks mate, I'm a bit gutted to be honest. It's been a hectic couple of months getting everything prepped and trying to chase up parts that are just not available let alone the monetary side of it. The poor old DR is sitting on the bikelift in pieces and I can't find the enthusiasm to keep working on it now. I'm just hoping it'll turn around but I can't see Queensland ,NT and SA opening up to NSW in the next 4 weeks. Oh well, we'll try for next winter. Let's hope Tassie is still a goer in February.
In the US, the half nut (which was included in the separate bag) is called a jamb nut. B&B was just saying to use the thinner nut for clearance if there wasn’t a welded nut on the fender plate.
G-Day BB that rack looks pretty wide Chappie will need to watch he doesn't catch his leg on the rack if he needs to bail in a hurry at any point. The bikes looking mint!
if you had an older b&b rack without the welded nut you'd need the half nut. being a new rack it has the the nut already just use the short bolt out of the supplementary drz bolt pack.
Screw the huskys and KTM's I love rounding up the Euro trash camp boys on the DRz400e. The only blokes who complain about the DRz are blokes who can't ride for shit anyway and think spending top dollar on euro trash will make up for there lack of skills. Love the vids very informative awesome. Seeya out on the trails.
@@BikerBits G'day Mark, thanks for the quick reply, but the mirrors on the bike have been changed between Ep. 04 and Ep 05. ;) They look like they might be the DRC type. From your shop perhaps? Was wondering if they were ok on the road.
It’s the angle. I’ve got the even bigger 28L tank on my DRZ400E and it’s not close. In fact I’ve actually welded a bung for an O2 wideband sensor on the RHS exhaust near the tank.
I'm curious Mark ,does the dealer put the Barkbusters and the skid plate on? That is something you would never see here in the States. Can't believe we get to see the fantastic Desert Weapon 2 days in a row!
In Aus, they also sold the DRZ Cape York Edition which included $1000AUD of genuine Suzuki accessories.Such skip/bash plate, hard guards, Protaper bar, radiator guards, and upgraded Perrelli Tires. Not sure if Suzuki Australia still does that this year but as an American I am quite jealous.

Why do you need to put anything on the front fender? Surely there will be enough luggage space elsewhere. I know Chappy is a gun rider but doing mods to make the bike steer worse is unnecessary.
But you’ve also run a 606 on the front for years too. Imagine how good your bike would handle and how much better you would ride with a good front tyre and no additional weight directly over the wheel. You never know if the grass is greener on the other side until you jump the fence.

Mark, I would personally put a washer between the plastic fender & the flange nut, otherwise the plastic will get chewed out!

The half nut was in the bag, see how it’s different to the rest 🤣 ….. chappy has alot of trust in you working on his bike 😅
Not really a half nut.. but it is shorter.
In the US, the half nut (which was included in the separate bag) is called a jamb nut. B&B was just saying to use the thinner nut for clearance if there wasn’t a welded nut on the fender plate.
it was the same thickness, just not as long.

To finish off counter sunk with less risk of going through run the drill in reverse

No
Got to ask....are you planning on upgrading the suspension?
No he is not! 👍
