On TH-cam yes, a large amount of their audience follows the content through their website rather than on youtube. So it's really not an accurate way to depict the popularity or success simply on TH-cam subs. Where as Slow mo guys (while available on the rt site) was started as a TH-cam channel, and has been a successful one, but it doesn't go much farther than that.
yes a lot of their audience is through their website. However the majority of them will have been subscribed to youtube first and then go through the website. And no one would then go back and unsub. Slow mo guys will always be more popular just because of the wider audience it can reach

Really incredible how RT has just continued to grow so much every year and I love that every opportunity you guys have to try something new/expand/morph you always manage to do it without losing the great vibe the company began with. It certainly feels like out of all the ways to connect with fans and the RT crew the community site ranks in dead last, which is a shame but I'm sure you guys will get around to it eventually! Great vlog again man, except for the camera... rip.

Sorry to see your brand new camera go like that, but the Universe has a funny sense of humor about things. Nothing to do but laugh at the absurdity and keep on going on.
Hope the rest of the shooting for Lazer Team 2 goes well for everyone--enjoyed the first movie--I know that can be a real pain sometimes, but I hope you have a lot of fun with it as well.

Burnie, the camera blowing off the deck reminds of something that happened to me. Pretty similar but instead of my camera smashing into a million pieces, the fall fixed it. Anyway, I had a camera that I got off ebay for cheap because the automatic lens cover wouldn't close all the way. One day I had it set up on a tripod on my grandma's flat roof to take pictures. Like you, I turned around for a second and the tripod blew over sending it smashing lens first into the gravel. I panicked, brought it inside and made sure it was ok. Everything seemed fine, the lens didn't break or get scratched. I went to turn it off and the lens cover closed. Somehow the fall had jostled a spring or something, fixing the lens cover.
*Starts watching video*
"That cameras going off the edge."
Bernie: "Ok, well you may have noticed that we switched resolution back to high def 1080."
"I totally called it."

Why is the first thing you notice with higher definition is the leaves? Even with new glasses, always the leaves.

As someone who lives in a city that is spread out in chunks in the valleys between hills and mountains, its always weird to see a view go so far.

Funny, I just picked up a 4K monitor and this was the first video I watched.
Love these more personal vlogs on the main channel, people are probably going to ask for these too much.. we'll end up with everyone at RT making them and it'll become something everyone loathes like everything else. Keep it simple guys, don't make it into an animated show

For people moaning, 4K downressed to 1080p is fine for TH-cam, and when doing talk to camera things you usually want to set the focus and just leave it
