Honestly, at least at first impression I'm loving the new design much more! I hated having to get to EVERY. SINGLE. MINI-STORE each time I completed the daily battle on each event, so I hope this system is here to stay for the future
I like they clearly are making a real push to draw in new players this anniversary. This event with the level unlocks, the menus, extra gems and special catch up banners. It's all adding up to some big wanted units I'm thinking. Getting excited!!!
As a free to play player with not many poke fairs and only 1 at 5/5, I actually decided to pull to a pity on the limited scout. I guess luck was on my side as every one of my pulls had 2-3 5 stars (one had 4!) and I got 5 new 5 star poke fairs, two dupes on pre existing poke fairs (fortunately not the 5/5 one) and the three 4 star poke fairs which I did not own. I then pulled another poke fair I didn’t own from the pity

This change helps newer users at the expense of vets. It's somewhere in between the gacha box system (gacha hell) and stores (my favorite). I get why it was made but it feels like i'm being forced to spend stamina for shit I do not need anymore
Regarding the Pokefair banner, Id say its one of the best banners period! Think about it, if you ever advised anyone to go for even a single Poke Fair unit, this banner has it! And, as you are never granted a unit unless you get to pity (which can happen even if the unit has a 99% chance of appearing, as long as you are unlucky), with this banner you can get to pity and enjoy tons of different units on the way if you are lucky!
The Pokefair banner is total bait, at 2% rates the expected value is only 2.68 pickups per spark. That being said I took the bait and got Akari and a dupe of Classic Elesa on the first multi...

Of course it is very very luck based, but it allows you to get ANY pokefair, the one you've been waiting ages for it to rerun, for the simple cost of 37K gems. Are there a lot? Definitely, but it's also the required amount to make sure you get any other pair
@@MikeTolosa I guess it’s good for F2P but if you’re even a fairly minimal spender, being able to get any Pokefair isn’t a big deal since they made select scouts include the entire pool now. Overall I think the banner is a good option for *new* players to obtain a specific character they want without needing to wait for a rerun. I can definitely see the scenario where someone starts playing because they heard Larry got added to the game only to find out his banner was a month ago. However for veteran players it’s just not worth it unless you currently have multiple sparks saved up or there is a specific character you REALLY want that you’re willing to spark for. Otherwise you’re better off rolling for one of the many MF banners we have coming up.
I do get what they were going for with the new system. Previous configuration events effectively only interest most players for up to 48 hours. That's what it takes to get the gems, which is enough to get all that is worth buying in the shop. Even if you make your own fun with the 30 stam dailies like I do, being "done with it" before the second unit drops is bad for DeNa (no fomo over boosters) and a mixed bag for players (widens gap between content). This new model meanwhile will arguably double to triple the time players "care" about events and encourage spedning. By directing players where to use their stamina, boosters should become more valuable, for they are no longer a multiplier of rewards you will prob farm at the VA shop instead but a fast pass into free stamina allocation. Paradoxically, it also disencourages saving stamina with it's day one gems. It must also be said, it's a fairly neat interface and prob less cluttered on their back end. What I think went wrong here is the assumption that stamina dumping would be compelling (or anything but frustrating) when you don't have the pretense of a shop/currency to micromanage, gem milestones, and somewhat useful prizes. Getting 3* power-ups *felt* good and it's so weird to me they are trying to be stingy about them in a post-ex roles world. And 4* power-ups too! I only saw one in the new shop. It's also wild to me that they knew this event was the systems debut and yet decided to only give it four major boosters, all of them limited units, only one of which has re-run before. Ultimately, this just feels like part of classic gacha profit optimization, but a very mild one and arguably an impovement. It's def not like other games farming mechanics, that's for sure. It shows the limits of the underlying base of the game with it's skip tickets and even structure. It needs some fine tuning, and imo at least a little increase on the non-gem rewards but it's here to stay anyways. No one is telling their boss they rigged this with the budget and it has to come down. Also medals are an even bigger joke than they ever been lol. It's now just using stamina. Come one man. At least make me work a little for my power-ups on rerun.
I had almost all of the featued characters and it took me 4 days to finish the event. I'm not excited to see how long it will take without any 1.4x/1.6x units....
The bad thing about this new system is no more unlimited number of 3 star powerup to exchange for which is bad all things considered since we need it to exhange for the 4 star ones to exchange for the 5 star ones monthly 😢
To be fair, it's worth noting that old reruns like the Sinnoh VA event and the penny event this month will still have the old voucher system, so you will still be able to farm the 3* unitix through basically the older events they'll bring back if you need to

It's... fine. And should at least front load the sync orbs for the new units, so players don't get baited on opening the grouping and then they receive those and would no longer have a use.
@@cyberrb25 fair enough but at that point its really on you and for new players they will learn soon enough about energy caps I can understand being impatient though and not wanting those orbs to go to waste.
@@migu6528if they're able to do that, then they should be able to use the exchange as well. I've done that a couple times myself, pulling on the unit on the first day and forgetting to buy the orbs before grinding lul
i prefer this event the stamina used her provides a higher value then usig it anywhere else the only con I can see is that grinding for superfan titles will take longer if more stamina is used on events.
I absolutely hate this system. I want to choose what I exchange. I don't wanna waste extra stamina getting skip tickets and 3* tickets I have tons of. And it's dumb. Take this event for example. You scout Elio and wanna use his lucky cookie. Oh wait you can't you need to use like 600 stamina for it. Can't even get the 4* medal til I finish everything. Hate it
Idk if I like this new format. I think it is less interactive. It prevents us to by the big interesting rewards right away, which is kinda annoying. Otherwise, I don't really mind, even tho it seems to take a longer to get all the rewards than with the vouchers. Which is going to be an issue during packed periods like the anniversary
After about 1.5 years I've got everyone up to 140, with plenty spare resources. Was nice using the tickets to just buy 3* power ups, as that was all I really needed. New system is just going to be getting the 10k and thats it, no reason to do more. I think people who've been playing longer don't even need to worry about that, and newer players need everything anyway. This system is worse, but not a big issue.
I got my SS diantha to 4/5 from 3/5 after three Multis from the scam banner XD. Wish I got more but 5/5 SS diantha is really good so now I have my excuse

But I'll admit we probably were just unlucky, and I consider it one of the best banners as long as there's one amazing pokefair you don't have yet, as you should always have in mind that you might have to spend all 37K gems every time you summon for a character
@MikeTolosa I saw someone on reddit post a picture of the 4 regular 5 star Leafs they got in one single multi. I'm not so sure. It's just too many units with not good enough odds. Better to keep your gems and go for the 100 free ticket pairs in my opinion.
as a day 1 player that nowadays just hoards 999 stamina to dump on events day 1 to get all the rewards at once, I kind of like this system better. I don't have to feel guilty about spending stamina, and it seems like the rewards themselves are better overall??

you can always use those orbs after unlockig energy caps though

Yes, but they give out more gems for clearing the stages themselves as compensation.

Yeah the rewards are nice overall, especially those Codex since before we could only get around 50 now we are getting around 400 I think
