Neither thought to do simple and no retreat. All stats raised two levels in one move would have been insane
Even crazier is that No Retreat fails if you're already arena trapped... but ghosts are immune to arena trapping. Imagine something like (hisuian) tyPhloSioN with Simple running No Retreat and Power Trip.
@Fireflare80 I could've swore no retreat only fails if the reason you're trapped is no retreat. So I'm pretty sure you could use it anyway
@@sirnoobsalot101, No Retreat has some weird interactions with other forms of the "Can't Escape" "status". Normally, the move can only be used once and then it fails from then on; if the user is afflicted with another form of "Can't Escape" (Arena Trap, Mean Look, etc.), No Retreat won't give the message a second time, but will grant the boosts upon usage (meaning that you can keep using the move and increasing your stats).

At first I thought you could do repeated letters, because Ludicolo has a lot of repeats. But then Dylan shows up with double B on Baxcalibur so I dunno anymore 😅
@@brunoemf90, he went over the rules just before the Bumi ad and clarified in another comment. For example, Mew would only have three options, so he could go two moves and an ability or three moves and no ability...but it couldn't be two M moves, an E ability, an E move, and a W move (no duplicated M or E in "Mew").
Missed opportunity to do Simple and Tail Glow on Shady's Tasugiri. You don't really need Thunderclap if you have Speed Boost but if he had Simple for an instant +6 from Tail Glow and then Thunderclap would annihilate anything that isn't a ground type
When I saw Victreebel, I just thought: OMG Contrary V-Create! 😯
And Rotom Frost could have Refrigerate Tri-Attack or something like that!

It's a decent way to guarantee a STAB move on anything with an R in the name, honestly. It may not be the *best* STAB, of course (as the typing becomes the primary type of the user...Giratina has Ghost-type Revelation Dance, for example, not Dragon), but it's still an option.
Dylan forgetting malamar was dark TURN 1 and the following arena trap freak out made me simultaneously laugh really hard and facepalm in total cringe

Each player will build a team from scratch using a wheel system. You can fill it up to 10 areas and challengers are to build their team with pokemon from the area they land on. You must catch 6 pokemon, but may respin after catching at least one pokemon from said area. Shiny pokemon will act as a wild card and may be used to have any other pokemon of the players choosing on the team with any ability or you can keep shiny and give it any ability.
meaning beacuse both players spins their own wheels, they also are in differend areas with differend pokemons so it could be fun

Fun fact: balls to the wall is a fighter pilot reference. The sticks they used to control the plane had little balls on the end, and when you went full throttle, the ball would hit the panel in front of it. Balls to the wall meant full throttle, hold nothing back.

when i saw you not getting the spore off i got a bit depressed myself, but then again shady got fully paralyzed 4 times in a row, so there is not much to complain about
You guys should do this in showdown to give you access to z moves, mega, and dynamax. Would add a whole other level to strategies, and would be amazing for this challenge specifically.
It would be more competitive and add more mechanics and strategy yes, but Showdown is also much worse in the presentation because it’s a whole different ball game looking at 2D sprites with little animation vs full on 3D in the games
These hardcore battles with insane team building are really fun
Crazy thing is, Arceus doesn't change all that much, it still ends up as EKiller Arceus.

I love this concept, why not do the same but in another langage.
For exepmple in french and you have in front of you screen a "charizard", you choose him but without know his french name
So after choose him youcheck and see his french name is "dracaufeu". And you can choose attack, item, and ability ONLY with french name of them to.
For exemple : "leftovers" is "restes" in french
For ditto, if you haveone on your screen and you don t wan t the 2 others, why not open boosters and choose between the 3 first pokemons of this booster
Hey Dylan 1st & Foremost Love watching you & your crew battle one another every week. Which in turn gave me a few ideas that you may find challenging.
Hope you try'em or at least give them a thought.
Challenge #1 (Non-Evolved) Play what u get. Meaning no evolving B4 battle. Let's say during a round you received a Bulbasaur you cannot evolve it whatsoever.
Challenge #2 (Survival of the Weak) Move pool is based on Pokemon's lowest Att. & Def. stat between Att. & Sp.Att. Def. & Sp. Def. If say that Pokemon's Att.& Sp.Def. are lower than that is what your moves will be based on.
Challenge #3 (Opposites of Elements) Any element matching that Pokemon can't be used by that Pokemon. To simply put it if you get an electric type like Pikachu they cannot use electric type moves.

I love this concept....any way we could get this concept as a draft tournament or other concept? VGC doubles format Shady, UTG, Vintendo, Patterz.......you see where I am going you can get spicy and add PM7 or a Wolfie or a MGTV or PG7....homeboys intial panic/tears....wonderful.....yessssss

Do this again but allow special characters to be a free choice. I.E, the 2 in porygon2, the period in Mr.Mime
