when i watched tall girl, i thought the anime "lovely complex" does a better job in the tall girl and short boy trope, especially when it comes to their own height complexes, which were more results of cultural and societal expectations and structures of japan. (it was also kinda old, the anime having released around 2007) it was honestly a good thing i watched that before tall girl, since the relationship between koizumi and otani is so cute and funny. would recommend this show to anyone who wants to see the trope done better

I was bullied my entire school years because of the exact opposite: I am "too" short (1.50m / 4.9 feet) - among other things but that's what people where noticing first.

And also, learn some math : an average means there is an above and an under... Matter of fact, there can be a very wide scale with nobody actually being "average" because, again, math.

We have a girl who's freaking 6'4 for Christs sake, and she isn't oppressed in any way. She is in fact one of the popular girls, everyone loves her, and she's also traditionally pretty and blonde. She towers over most of the male staff as well. But nobody has ever given her shit about the fact that she's tall.
