I thought the movie was sweet. Yes, it was kinda cliche, but it was very sweet. It was a nice break from those “coming of age” movies where everybody looks 27, with great hair and perfect clothing and a somehow extensive knowledge of sex despite the fact that they’re like 16. Lara Jean reminded me a lot of me in high school; innocent and pretty normal.

I read the book and it says that Lara and her sister are two years apart, but Lara and Josh are just one year apart. So yeah, Josh is younger than Lara's sister/ ex-girlfriend.
I thought the movie was fantastic. Lara Jean is someone a lot of teen girls can relate to. She's simple, but not bland. I'm afraid of love and everything, just like her, but I love to fantasize about it. It's just relaxing I guess. It may seem like Peter is one of those guys that actually don't exist because "all guys are douchebags", but those nice guys are still out there. You just have to wait. So, yeah, it's not a dumb movie at all. I'm not a fan of cliché teen romance movies, but being cliché as a couple is better than one partner being toxic or something. The title itself is honestly heartwarming in a way. This movie was way better than The Kissing Booth, but I really love all of these Netflix Original movies so far that I've watched.
Yeah but the book is portrayed a whole different way. And in my opinion way better. I read the book 3 years ago and I’ve been obsessed with it since. I didn’t think the movie was that bad but I think the lines and the acting could have been a lot better. There’s a lot I would change about the movie.

I didn't like the little sister violating Lara Jean's privacy like that. I mean I know it's what got the movie started in the first place, and I know it's probably just me, but I just think if my own sibling ever did that, we'd have a serious problem :/
Kitty was a little bitch..hated her in the movie and hated her even more in the books where you can actually see how manipulating and condescending she is. Yet her sisters and dad treat her like she is this poor little innocent thing. Ugh

the only problem i really had with the movie was the letters were so hyped in the trailer and i thought the letters were going to be the roots of the movie. but when i watched it, the notes were a very small portion of the movie.
Lara Jean is one of the few teen girl movie characters i can actually relate to. She's afraid of being in a real relationship but has all these fantasies in her head about love and romance my friends point out about me....A LOT😅😅 but instead of books i watch cartoons and anime😅
Lex their mum was Korean, and their dad is American. It's even stated in the book that Kitty, the youngest sister, looks a lot more like her dad than her mum, therefore the lack of Asian appearance. Hope this helped :)
The book was ok in my opinion, but there's something I have to get off my chest. I am sick of the "not dating or kissing anyone in high school makes you weird " trope, that boils my blood. A good kid who never gets into any trouble and is a decent person "needs adventure" and ends up not sticking to his morals for awhile, then realizes he was fine how he was. But a delinquent kid is just "misunderstood" and needs friends who accept him. If you want to date a new person every week I won't judge you that's your decision, but don't act like I need to experience life, and make stupid mistakes.
@Brooke Madison that doesn't mean you should do reckless things that's completely useless... making new friends and having new experiences is GREAT but in a responsible fashion and there is nothing wrong with that.
Thats what I meant, I can't stand when they brush those things off as silly mistakes, I feel there is definitely an imbalance. I know know what I need to work on. I definitely believe in the 'you need to help yourself, before you help others'. Philosophy. I was mainly talking about people who you were talking about in the beginning. I thought maybe the mistakes might be confusing.

The book does a better job of fleshing out the characters, especially josh and Peter but I understand your point of view. The movie isn't perfect but I found it fun to watch and overall pretty sweet. I agree also with what you said about Lara Jean. She seems like a more realistic portrayal of a teenage girl in high school
It's a role reversal. Historically male characters have (and continue to) dominate films and female characters are predominantly underdeveloped and have almost no agency. I'm not saying it's right...but it was definitely refreshing to see things switched around for once.
The little sister in this movie grated on me. She was so unbearable, thought she was clever and funny, continuously slagged her sister for not having friends or plans despite every scene we see her in shes hanging with her sister so clearly has no friends or boyfriend herself

Kateypops To cut them some slack, they probably had 3 different ones because the first 2 with 6 rules were given to Peter and Lara Jean. The third one with only 5 rules must be a 'new' contract they agreed on because rule 6 was stupid or something. This is not the only time they 'changed' something without us knowing. An example was Lara Jean's phone background with both of them snuggling, at first it was a selfie with Peter. This was at the scene when the 'sex tape' was released and her older sister was helping Lara deal with the ordeal
When it showed Peter scribbling and then the list with different handwriting I assumed Lara Jean rewrote it to make it look neater but then it was different again and was confused
i wish they added a few scenes that would’ve helped develop the movie better. for instance, a scene that revealed the importance of lara’s scrunchie and why she took offense to see that peter had given it to the hands of gen, besides the fact that it was her “favorite scrunchie.” maybe her mother had given it to her before she passed... or the scene where peter goes to gen’s room and tells her they’re over. the audience will not easily believe what a character says. “show don’t tell” ya know?idk. i just feel like there were a few plot holes in the movie. but altogether i loved it
But if they showed the scene where peter told gen it was over, then we wouldn't have been left with the mystery on y peter went to gen's room in the first place. Although, im still conflicted on y LJ and Peter didnt just sleep in the same room, or bed. Even if they didnt do the dirty.
There’s three books (I think) so I believe they’re hoping to have a sequel so the movie was actually left on a cliffhanger after the credits so that might be explained in a second movie?!
The book is adorable And the characters are a LOT more fleshed out there. Like a huge part of Lara jeans after school activities is volunteering at a retirement home and she’s extremely creative. Peter, who really has the personality of toast in the movie, had a big personality and is really sarcastic and super charming . And josh actually was in love with LJ first before he dated her sister and just thought it was unrequited. So when he gets the letter there’s this entire arc of him dealing with having feelings for her and clashing with peter and then telling LJ about his feelings and then kissing her. So when Margot comes home it’s not that stupid “you were in love with josh in the past?” It’s actually “you kissed my ex boyfriend while I was at college?!” Which is MUCH more interesting and adds a lot more conflict to the story. The movie is sweet but is very watered down. It’s like the instant lemonade version of the book 😂🙈
There’s also a really cute scene in the book where josh dresses as Harry Potter for Halloween after finding out Lara jean is going as Cho Chang . Peter gets super jealous and feels inadequate for once again not getting her pop culture references. Really cute scene I was really hoping was gonna be in the movie
peter really is an amazing developed character in the book. lara jean made him a better version of himself-something gen could never dream of. he's sarcastic and a lighthearted jokester. im really sad they left all that out :/
I totally forgot about the retirement home and I was a little sad the Halloween scene wasn’t in the movie...but it’s a movie so of course they can’t fit everything in just two hours
The movie is so cliche (but the good kind) but the characters aren’t super annoying and they’re actually really likeable and they’re like how people in real life are, unlike other cliche movies/shows which is one of the things I live about the movie/books

Y’all gotta realize there will NEVER be a rom com which won’t be cliché cause everything has already been done. The actors are actually great and this movie is way better than the majority of teen movies that have been released lately. Plus I think Lara Jean is actually relatable and you can definitely learn something from this movie which is don’t be afraid to love someone or show your vulnerability. I mean, what does The Kissing Booth teach? Nothing. At least this one has a message, of course it’s not the most original movie ever and there might be some flaws, but it’s not dumb at all.
Yes 👏👏👏. I agreed, this movie was really interesting, with such a great actors and actress on TATBILB!!! Their acting was on point. True, Lara Jean is a relatable characters!!! It was better than the kissing booth. The kissing booth was not that great in my opinion, it was too cliché, at some point it was kind of cringey, I mean Elle and Noah were like in intoxicated relationship, while the other couples like Peter and Lara Jean had a really deep connection together, and became really in loved with each other, I like how they also include background characters that seemed to be compelling, and cool.
It's not that everything has already been done because that's not true in this genre certainly. It's that the formula works. Romantic comedies work because they're fantasy and the fantasy of it all plays out in these genre tropes. People want to watch romantic comedies knowing there's a meet-cute and a grand romantic gesture and a happily ever after.
to all the boys i loved before is incredibly one dimensional stop trying to act like it teaches you something. Literally no one took that away from the film
I'm not big on romance movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed To All The Boys I've Loved Before. But as any true bookworm would say... the books are better, I highly recommend reading them. It's trilogy, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, P.S. I Still Love You, and Always And Forever, Laura Jean. If you like romance books, you should read them, they are amazing.

I'll be honest, I really loved this book series/film. I'm just tired of his opinions popping up on my feed. Especially videos that have titles like, "To All The Boys I've Loved Before is kinda dumb." I'm just over his channel.

The really unrealistic part of this movie was the whole walking down the football field during practice like who does that?! And i’m still a little confused about how Laura Jean fainted and all Peter did was stand there instead of getting actual help, but it was still a great movie!
This was a great movie, for me at least, for several reasons. One, the romance and romantic gestures aren’t super cheesy. I get secondhand embarrassment painfully easy, and I didnt experience it at all during the movie. Second, the teenager were actual teens. Not just in age, but they acted like teenagers. Taking the easy way out by avoiding your feelings or problems. LJ avoiding Josh and her feelings, and fake dated Peter to do that. Third, the lack of political anything. That ones weird, but I’m sick and tired of trying to watch a movie to be entertained and get politics shoved in my face. Fourth, the dialogue. The style of how the characters talk and how everything was presented was a fresh breath. I liked the overuse of their names, and the somewhat romantic (if that’s the word for it) way Lara Jean talks as if she was in a romance book. Fifth, humor. I found the humor light and actually funny. It wasn’t in your face and meh, it came up when it could or should and was decent (my favorite being “I starred in a sex tape, but haven’t even had sex”). In all honesty the movie was a heck of a load better than the Kissing Booth (not that that’s hard) and Candy Jar (which had a enemies to lovers type thing that was pretty good). While the relationship and development of feelings wasn’t shown well (which I don’t get why y’all are complaining. It’s a movie that takes place over a couple of months. It ain’t gonna show all the development, nor moments. If you want development, read the book). The way they were able to portray it in such a small time is amazing. Anyways that was my view, enjoy your day scroller.

Spacebars -- yeah, I'm an adult and I'm going to see it (I read half the first book, and I love teen movies). However, I'm *pretty* sure it's 99% teenage fans overacting, by taking someone's differing opinion as an insult and unsubscribing.

I actually really loved both this book and movie, and it was certainly a step up from "The Kissing Booth", when it comes to Netflix Teen Romcoms!💖 The only misstep I felt that they made was making Gen, Peter's ex girlfriend, too one dimensional, and her motivations against Lara Jean were too weak and implausible, and they never reconcile their friendship, as you might expect in stories like this. Other than that small nitpick, the character of Lara Jean felt so real and easy to relate to, that you can't help but love her!
Caitriona Quigley i agree but I think they didn‘t put more of their friendship in the movie because the movie‘s more about covinsky and they didn‘t have the time to cover some other parts. I really think they did an awesome job on this

they never really reconcile even in the books tbh because the message in their friendship is that sometimes you change and grow up and you inevitably grow apart from some people, which is super important. the only thing i was mad about in terms of gen was yes, her 1-dimensional character, which could have been an easy fix if they put in the line in the book at the point where lara jean confronts her and gen says that she's jealous of lara jean and her life and she always wanted to be part of her family
ti That's true, I suppose. It might have helped explain Gen's actions more had they left that line in. Instead, Lara Jean's confrontation with her in the bathroom felt rushed and anti-climatic at best.
They cut out some really important parts of the book: - Chris is way more flaky, and is rumoured to be promiscuous (keep reading, I'll explain more) - Peter and Lara Jean's first kiss when they were little wasn't during a game of spin the bottle. Peter kissed her, and Gen saw it happen. That's why Gen stops being friends with her because she thought her best friend betrayed her. However, this was also the kiss that resulted in Lara Jean's crush on Peter. - In the book, Lara Jean finds out that Josh liked her before he ever liked Margot - she finds this out after Margot and Josh had broken up. And she's conflicted because she likes Josh but she doesn't want to break the sister code with Margot. This is the real reason that she decides to "fake date" Peter, she wants to keep herself away from Josh and wants to keep herself hurting Margot. - The "sex tape" thing is the real reason Peter and Lara Jean break up, because Gen tells everyone that LJ & Peter had sex in the hot tub, and video proof goes viral online (it even becomes a meme). LJ breaks up with Peter because he doesn't deny it, he just doesn't say anything at all, meanwhile people are slutshaming LJ for doing something she never even did. - This sex tape thing is what brings Chris and LJ closer, because LJ finds out that the main reason everyone thinks Chris is a slut is because of people who spread rumors about her - and the guys she was with at the time would not deny anything because it made them seem cool. - After Peter and Lara Jean break up, there's an entire confrontation during a Christmas party where Peter comes over and Josh tries to stake his claim on Lara Jean - and I think it's about here when Lara Jean realizes that Peter's feelings for her are real. - Josh also kisses Lara Jean at some point in time in the book, which causes her to realize who she actually loves - Peter.
i actually enjoyed the movie way more without some of those parts, since a lot of the time it can feel like unnecessary drama. good to know still, though!
OMG For sure! The movie was fantastic, and I really enjoyed it. I just felt that they kind of did Josh's character a little dirty, that's all. Actually, when I read the book - it didn't feel like unnecessary drama because it was all fleshed out (and resolved) so well. However, due to time constraints they probably cut all that out of the screenplay - no biggie. Everything else I wanted was still there.

My main (read: only) problem with the film is that without Josh’s feelings for LJ being made known to her (that he liked her before he liked Margot), the movie doesn’t create higher stakes for LJ. I would have liked it more that LJ started fake dating Peter so that she could keep herself from Josh (not just so that they wouldn’t talk about the letter) but so that she wouldn’t have to hurt Margot in the process in case she accidentally breaks the sister code. You know? That guilt of possibly hurting her sister, and fully knowing Josh’s feelings for her but keeping herself away from him - I might have just liked that a little more. Idk if I’m making any sense. Still, it won’t stop me from enjoying the movie for the fourth time 😅

I feel like there were a lot of stuff left out, like when Gen and Lara Jean have their little argument in the bathroom, it felt like there was something missing when it was over. Not only that, but like the characters never seem to struggle with homework or college, which is so not like high school I do like the movie though
Giulia The third book in the series deals a lot with the struggles of college applications and stuff, it felt incredibly refreshing and relatable to read - and kind of relaxing for someone who’s going through the process now
They’re probably going to butcher the rest of the movies like they did to the first one. I have to read the books because they’re probably WAYYYY better than the movie. I never judge movies and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to movies and tv shows but this one was just so bland and boring! It was cute but nothing near a beautiful romantic and intense movie with characters who have a lot of chemistry. Noah can’t have chemistry with anyone. His acting is not as good as everyone says. He acts like himself in most of the movies or shows he’s in. Hawk in T@gged is the only character that he didn’t completely ruin. He’s a boring actor (I’m not trying to be mean and I’m usually the one to tell someone else not to say anything bad about anything but I get why people comment. They need to vent). His acting is as stale as a stale bread. I can never feel chemistry between any of his relationships on the movies or shows he’s in. I ALWAYS FEEL THE CHEMISTRY SO I WAS LIKE WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW! And I tried to force myself to feel something but I couldn’t! :/ so I wish that they didn’t cast him because his voice just has no emotion in it. It’s not really his voice that’s the problem. It’s that he doesn’t know how to use his voice to act well
I kinda was feeling that Peter liked Laura Jean from the beginning and was just like making excuses with the whole make Jen or whatever jealous like that wasn't really the point he was just being tsundere

I thought the movie was sweet. Yes, it was kinda cliche, but it was very sweet. It was a nice break from those “coming of age” movies where everybody looks 27, with great hair and perfect clothing and a somehow extensive knowledge of sex despite the fact that they’re like 16. Lara Jean reminded me a lot of me in high school; innocent and pretty normal.
Tbh more people should be more educated about sex though. Also, when I was 16 there were maaaany people who were all about sex, I blame the hormones

I thought the movie was fantastic. Lara Jean is someone a lot of teen girls can relate to. She's simple, but not bland. I'm afraid of love and everything, just like her, but I love to fantasize about it. It's just relaxing I guess. It may seem like Peter is one of those guys that actually don't exist because "all guys are douchebags", but those nice guys are still out there. You just have to wait.
So, yeah, it's not a dumb movie at all. I'm not a fan of cliché teen romance movies, but being cliché as a couple is better than one partner being toxic or something. The title itself is honestly heartwarming in a way. This movie was way better than The Kissing Booth, but I really love all of these Netflix Original movies so far that I've watched.

I am sick of the "not dating or kissing anyone in high school makes you weird " trope, that boils my blood.
A good kid who never gets into any trouble and is a decent person "needs adventure" and ends up not sticking to his morals for awhile, then realizes he was fine how he was. But a delinquent kid is just "misunderstood" and needs friends who accept him.
If you want to date a new person every week I won't judge you that's your decision, but don't act like I need to experience life, and make stupid mistakes.

The book does a better job of fleshing out the characters, especially josh and Peter but I understand your point of view. The movie isn't perfect but I found it fun to watch and overall pretty sweet. I agree also with what you said about Lara Jean. She seems like a more realistic portrayal of a teenage girl in high school
It's a role reversal. Historically male characters have (and continue to) dominate films and female characters are predominantly underdeveloped and have almost no agency. I'm not saying it's right...but it was definitely refreshing to see things switched around for once.

Kateypops To cut them some slack, they probably had 3 different ones because the first 2 with 6 rules were given to Peter and Lara Jean. The third one with only 5 rules must be a 'new' contract they agreed on because rule 6 was stupid or something. This is not the only time they 'changed' something without us knowing. An example was Lara Jean's phone background with both of them snuggling, at first it was a selfie with Peter. This was at the scene when the 'sex tape' was released and her older sister was helping Lara deal with the ordeal
When it showed Peter scribbling and then the list with different handwriting I assumed Lara Jean rewrote it to make it look neater but then it was different again and was confused

i wish they added a few scenes that would’ve helped develop the movie better. for instance, a scene that revealed the importance of lara’s scrunchie and why she took offense to see that peter had given it to the hands of gen, besides the fact that it was her “favorite scrunchie.” maybe her mother had given it to her before she passed... or the scene where peter goes to gen’s room and tells her they’re over. the audience will not easily believe what a character says. “show don’t tell” ya know?idk. i just feel like there were a few plot holes in the movie. but altogether i loved it

The book is adorable And the characters are a LOT more fleshed out there. Like a huge part of Lara jeans after school activities is volunteering at a retirement home and she’s extremely creative. Peter, who really has the personality of toast in the movie, had a big personality and is really sarcastic and super charming . And josh actually was in love with LJ first before he dated her sister and just thought it was unrequited. So when he gets the letter there’s this entire arc of him dealing with having feelings for her and clashing with peter and then telling LJ about his feelings and then kissing her. So when Margot comes home it’s not that stupid “you were in love with josh in the past?” It’s actually “you kissed my ex boyfriend while I was at college?!” Which is MUCH more interesting and adds a lot more conflict to the story. The movie is sweet but is very watered down. It’s like the instant lemonade version of the book 😂🙈
There’s also a really cute scene in the book where josh dresses as Harry Potter for Halloween after finding out Lara jean is going as Cho Chang . Peter gets super jealous and feels inadequate for once again not getting her pop culture references. Really cute scene I was really hoping was gonna be in the movie
peter really is an amazing developed character in the book. lara jean made him a better version of himself-something gen could never dream of. he's sarcastic and a lighthearted jokester. im really sad they left all that out :/

Yes 👏👏👏. I agreed, this movie was really interesting, with such a great actors and actress on TATBILB!!! Their acting was on point. True, Lara Jean is a relatable characters!!! It was better than the kissing booth. The kissing booth was not that great in my opinion, it was too cliché, at some point it was kind of cringey, I mean Elle and Noah were like in intoxicated relationship, while the other couples like Peter and Lara Jean had a really deep connection together, and became really in loved with each other, I like how they also include background characters that seemed to be compelling, and cool.

I'll be honest, I really loved this book series/film. I'm just tired of his opinions popping up on my feed. Especially videos that have titles like, "To All The Boys I've Loved Before is kinda dumb." I'm just over his channel.

The really unrealistic part of this movie was the whole walking down the football field during practice like who does that?! And i’m still a little confused about how Laura Jean fainted and all Peter did was stand there instead of getting actual help, but it was still a great movie!

This was a great movie, for me at least, for several reasons. One, the romance and romantic gestures aren’t super cheesy. I get secondhand embarrassment painfully easy, and I didnt experience it at all during the movie. Second, the teenager were actual teens. Not just in age, but they acted like teenagers. Taking the easy way out by avoiding your feelings or problems. LJ avoiding Josh and her feelings, and fake dated Peter to do that. Third, the lack of political anything. That ones weird, but I’m sick and tired of trying to watch a movie to be entertained and get politics shoved in my face. Fourth, the dialogue. The style of how the characters talk and how everything was presented was a fresh breath. I liked the overuse of their names, and the somewhat romantic (if that’s the word for it) way Lara Jean talks as if she was in a romance book. Fifth, humor. I found the humor light and actually funny. It wasn’t in your face and meh, it came up when it could or should and was decent (my favorite being “I starred in a sex tape, but haven’t even had sex”). In all honesty the movie was a heck of a load better than the Kissing Booth (not that that’s hard) and Candy Jar (which had a enemies to lovers type thing that was pretty good). While the relationship and development of feelings wasn’t shown well (which I don’t get why y’all are complaining. It’s a movie that takes place over a couple of months. It ain’t gonna show all the development, nor moments. If you want development, read the book). The way they were able to portray it in such a small time is amazing. Anyways that was my view, enjoy your day scroller.

I actually really loved both this book and movie, and it was certainly a step up from "The Kissing Booth", when it comes to Netflix Teen Romcoms!💖 The only misstep I felt that they made was making Gen, Peter's ex girlfriend, too one dimensional, and her motivations against Lara Jean were too weak and implausible, and they never reconcile their friendship, as you might expect in stories like this. Other than that small nitpick, the character of Lara Jean felt so real and easy to relate to, that you can't help but love her!
Caitriona Quigley i agree but I think they didn‘t put more of their friendship in the movie because the movie‘s more about covinsky and they didn‘t have the time to cover some other parts. I really think they did an awesome job on this

they never really reconcile even in the books tbh because the message in their friendship is that sometimes you change and grow up and you inevitably grow apart from some people, which is super important. the only thing i was mad about in terms of gen was yes, her 1-dimensional character, which could have been an easy fix if they put in the line in the book at the point where lara jean confronts her and gen says that she's jealous of lara jean and her life and she always wanted to be part of her family
ti That's true, I suppose. It might have helped explain Gen's actions more had they left that line in. Instead, Lara Jean's confrontation with her in the bathroom felt rushed and anti-climatic at best.

They cut out some really important parts of the book:
- Chris is way more flaky, and is rumoured to be promiscuous (keep reading, I'll explain more)
- Peter and Lara Jean's first kiss when they were little wasn't during a game of spin the bottle. Peter kissed her, and Gen saw it happen. That's why Gen stops being friends with her because she thought her best friend betrayed her. However, this was also the kiss that resulted in Lara Jean's crush on Peter.
- In the book, Lara Jean finds out that Josh liked her before he ever liked Margot - she finds this out after Margot and Josh had broken up. And she's conflicted because she likes Josh but she doesn't want to break the sister code with Margot. This is the real reason that she decides to "fake date" Peter, she wants to keep herself away from Josh and wants to keep herself hurting Margot.
- The "sex tape" thing is the real reason Peter and Lara Jean break up, because Gen tells everyone that LJ & Peter had sex in the hot tub, and video proof goes viral online (it even becomes a meme). LJ breaks up with Peter because he doesn't deny it, he just doesn't say anything at all, meanwhile people are slutshaming LJ for doing something she never even did.
- This sex tape thing is what brings Chris and LJ closer, because LJ finds out that the main reason everyone thinks Chris is a slut is because of people who spread rumors about her - and the guys she was with at the time would not deny anything because it made them seem cool.
- After Peter and Lara Jean break up, there's an entire confrontation during a Christmas party where Peter comes over and Josh tries to stake his claim on Lara Jean - and I think it's about here when Lara Jean realizes that Peter's feelings for her are real.
- Josh also kisses Lara Jean at some point in time in the book, which causes her to realize who she actually loves - Peter.
i actually enjoyed the movie way more without some of those parts, since a lot of the time it can feel like unnecessary drama. good to know still, though!
OMG For sure! The movie was fantastic, and I really enjoyed it. I just felt that they kind of did Josh's character a little dirty, that's all. Actually, when I read the book - it didn't feel like unnecessary drama because it was all fleshed out (and resolved) so well. However, due to time constraints they probably cut all that out of the screenplay - no biggie. Everything else I wanted was still there.

My main (read: only) problem with the film is that without Josh’s feelings for LJ being made known to her (that he liked her before he liked Margot), the movie doesn’t create higher stakes for LJ. I would have liked it more that LJ started fake dating Peter so that she could keep herself from Josh (not just so that they wouldn’t talk about the letter) but so that she wouldn’t have to hurt Margot in the process in case she accidentally breaks the sister code. You know? That guilt of possibly hurting her sister, and fully knowing Josh’s feelings for her but keeping herself away from him - I might have just liked that a little more.
Idk if I’m making any sense.
Still, it won’t stop me from enjoying the movie for the fourth time 😅

I feel like there were a lot of stuff left out, like when Gen and Lara Jean have their little argument in the bathroom, it felt like there was something missing when it was over. Not only that, but like the characters never seem to struggle with homework or college, which is so not like high school

Giulia The third book in the series deals a lot with the struggles of college applications and stuff, it felt incredibly refreshing and relatable to read - and kind of relaxing for someone who’s going through the process now
They’re probably going to butcher the rest of the movies like they did to the first one. I have to read the books because they’re probably WAYYYY better than the movie. I never judge movies and I try to keep an open mind when it comes to movies and tv shows but this one was just so bland and boring! It was cute but nothing near a beautiful romantic and intense movie with characters who have a lot of chemistry. Noah can’t have chemistry with anyone. His acting is not as good as everyone says. He acts like himself in most of the movies or shows he’s in. Hawk in T@gged is the only character that he didn’t completely ruin. He’s a boring actor (I’m not trying to be mean and I’m usually the one to tell someone else not to say anything bad about anything but I get why people comment. They need to vent). His acting is as stale as a stale bread. I can never feel chemistry between any of his relationships on the movies or shows he’s in. I ALWAYS FEEL THE CHEMISTRY SO I WAS LIKE WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW! And I tried to force myself to feel something but I couldn’t! :/ so I wish that they didn’t cast him because his voice just has no emotion in it. It’s not really his voice that’s the problem. It’s that he doesn’t know how to use his voice to act well
I kinda was feeling that Peter liked Laura Jean from the beginning and was just like making excuses with the whole make Jen or whatever jealous like that wasn't really the point he was just being tsundere
