- Arguably the biggest eye opener at Jamboree 2012 was Phil Penny's JESUS Honda S600 complete with a Toyota 2JZ engine conversion. With no where else to fit, the huge turbocharger hanging out of the bonnet was a giveway something was lurking beneath!
Over the year's Phil's Honda has seen various colour changes and engine combinations used. The first time out with this Toyota six cylinder setup saw Phil run quicker as the event went on going a very very easy 9.16/150mph pass.

Guys read the description it was the car's first time out, just listening to it you can clearly tell it's only on low boost. I'm sure it will run quicker as Phil gets more confident driving it.

If you watch the recent 1320 video about it he says there was nothing left of the car when he got it. It was a bare shell. He also said he has another good one that he is restoring to stock condition.
Thanks I was wondering because the way that car looks it reminds me of a Shelby Daytona Cobra coupe. Love the big turbo poking above the hood.

Thats actually a damn cool looking little car, will be one hell of a ride when he winds it up, from personal experience getting into the 7s in small cars like this is great fun but can get outa hand pretty quick. one to watch for sure.

Never really liked Honda but this car is nice. Best part of the car is the 2jz. I love toyotas
Nice setup, he is just been conservative. The car looks nice and at those speed is more than enough fun at the track. I am pretty sure he can be in the low 8 even 7s, but its a matter how much he wants to push it and have less margin for error.

Listen to the compressor surge he is probably only putting 1 bar through that fucking huge turbo and it still is launching like a monster, with the right setup this car could be in the 7's.

You would be correct the s600 was the start of the S series
eeemanyo Exactly. The S2000 was considered a spiritual successor or continuation of the classic S series. There was also an S360, S500 and an S800, all just as tiny and gorgeous.

The Honda was having a few problems on the day. The main one being the engine shutting down as soon as it got in top gear.

To everyone giving my dad's car negative feedback about 'oh you would think it would run faster times' well this was years ago. it now runs early 8's. this is a 50 year old car an my dads had it for 15 + years upgrading it an customising it himself. building it from basically a shell. So cut him some slack. Dad has put blood sweat an tears into this car an look at what his achieved now. get a life ay

Pretty simple, really..... First time out, missfiring with electrical and boost control issues.
Wheelie bar has since been lowered, so no more "show" wheel stands.
Already run some easy 8's with plenty left, just gotta get the gearbox to handle the HP :(
