I like how his times dropped as he got smoother with his launches, Hey buddy, you got skills.
2JZ = one of the best engines known to mankind hands down.
There is absolutely nothing i dont like about this awesome vehicle... quick, plain looking & sounds super sweet. Great HP/dollar value with the 2J. Well Done scott
Congratulations to Scott who has now gone as quick as 7.97 at 179mph in this little Corolla!
Fullboost may i know the technical details is.. i have same car like that.. and i want to build it like that
I had a corolla of the same year that I modified with a 3tc an a turbo an some slicks and I remember it being a wicked sleeper an bringing down many v8 powered muscle cars most unforgettable was a 69 gto judge it just sat there burning the tires as I jumped out the gate
@nuggetgarage are bringing that beast back
Scott's car has to be bar none the world's sweetest Rolla!
I love the speed and stealthiness of this unassuming little beige car. Other than the wheels in the back, you couldn't tell this is one truly fast car, simply awesome!
totally agree. It is called street sleeper if I am not mistaken
that passenger side front tire doesnt touch the track till the end of the strip .. Just wow !!!!
love this rolla, other than the rear tyres, it looks totally stock...nicely done scott
Tons of Respect for the Driver
Now lets see if I can stuff one of them in my 95 Corona! :)
I used to have a 72 Corolla and loved it. Aside from my Mini, it was the best small car I'd owned.
This guy HAS to come to Southern California!
Can you imagine him taking on a Lexus LF-A? That would be epic.
absolutely mind blowing on that little tire ! amazing car !
!
Scary fast yota notice how he slowly lays down the law off the line to keep the front wheels down after the first run gotta love those big money 2jz engines
That car really kick ass
good job
It's an automatic but it would have a manual valve body so you still have to shift it manfully from 1st to 2nd.
Good Start! Good Traction! Good Job!
that's insane!!! what a wicked car!!
Nice car. Nice work i it time a lot to get that working. Keep up the good work guys. 174 mph just wow!!
Congratulations. 8.0sec is a incredible time. I wager it hitting 7.5sec with better traction comeing out of the box. Looked like hard work keeping the tires planted. Too cool.
That Corolla is Awesome She is a Beast
That is a well-tuned car!
That's some good driving!!!
ultimate sleeper, love it
Damn that Rolla is quick!
Beautiful!!! I want a 2jz in my 81 celica st so damn bad!!! Love the sound it produces!!! O.O
I've heard about this car but holy crap, that's impressive.
Sick car!
cool man, thanks :) I'm about to get a 2JZ in a AE86 trueno coupe. Hope it goes half as fast as this corolla does
Very Under Rated channel
44 People liked this video so much they turned there screen upside down to like it again
wow !! ORIGINAL STAMP APPROVED!
runs straight as a die! gotta love that!
Mikes Transmission Ultimate Powerglide
the best toyota corolla
close but for me it's my KE25
He's got that thing diald in!
he has that bad ass car very tuned!
I love this Corolla!! i have a 74 te27 i was thinking about swapping a 1jz !!! with a manual !!
I've probably watched this video 50 times. Never gets old. AWESOME. 2:02 into the video, that's the money.
My gawd! 2JZ Power!
DAMN !!! I miss my ke20 😢
Wicked Sick!!! Love those early toyotas. Would love to have that in sleeper mode.
@MrNPRVideos The Cressida is pwoered by a 2JZ as well but runs a 1JZ cylinder head.
YOH !!!!!! This car is sick !!!!!!!
There's a video with a old 80's 240DL volvo station wagon with a 2jz. You can put those engines into anything.
Unreal. Forever a Toyota fan. Keep in mind, late 80's pro stock was running 7.50's around 185 mph. Sure, this car is boosted as fuck, but still crazy it is that close.
Just goes to show that a 2JZ motor will make ANY car fast.
I WANT ONE!
Take off the parachute and put the stock rims, I think we just got a sleeper here
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! That is AWESOME!!
This is not a sleeper. it's the devil in disguise
Crazy fast!!!
Definitely MPH, drag racing is still measured in MPH down here although some tracks will show both MPH and KPH.
Scott's car running 176mph shows just how much power it's making in a chassis/tyre combination that can't handle that kind of power. But that's the way he likes it.
Sounds like it's running a GM 2 speed Powerglide transmission(as do most top drag cars). Very fast Toyota!
amazing!!
Buen trabajo
i once owned one of these puke yellow 72 Corollas, great mechanics on original cars, easy to work on, it changed my mind about Japanese cars completely, really small car compared to anything these days, but even at 6'2 I found it a very comfy fun car to drive. thanks fer video. Wanted to put a hot motor in mine too.
I had a powder blue 71 with a 2 speed automatic and air conditioning.
super carrrrr!!! amazing
Wow ese carro si esta fuera de serie mucho más rápido que cualquier otro carro deportivo y super muy bueno
Love it
nice one!
BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the nugget garage fella right
Awesome!!! That car would do 7s with slicks!
Hey I like your ride , I would like to know what gears you have in the rear and what rear are you useing ...thanks
@shaunfosmark it's has Radials. Street Approved tyres.
That VL makes me laugh every time I watch this... it goes SO hard off the line!
that guy is a Launching GOD.
@jdmsi1via3, its a KE20 corolla. That is why his number plates are OKE020
NICE CAR 2JZ POWERRR
Sick
This thing is bat shit crazy!
Hooks heaps well
Oh wee that is sweet
Started in High School with a very used '73 1.6L HEMI(true, but I remember most guys(non-car) saying, 'you don't have a 426ci in your car'...*LOL*, which I got from brother. It had slotted 60s T.A.'s on it, he blacked out the grill and the rear taillight surrounds, he put a Monza free flow exhaust on it and he had it freshly painted Toyota dark blue. When I bought it from him, I put on a VERY open air cleaner. So it started with 88BHP...I do not know what the intake or the exhaust added(if anything), being very pessimistic let's say 10BHP for a total of the 98BHP. Most people forget the tires, it had be jacked up for them to fit. They were MUCH higher and wider than stock, the largely stock engine could barely spin them a 1/4 turn, however, the engine could break a rear axle(I went from slightly sandy to clean asphalt and snap went the right axle, fortunately the axle had a flange, so the wheel stayed on, just a little crooked)...plus the tires changed the gear ratio significantly. I was 17yo and in high school, my father had a GIANT service book of cars from the 60's and 70's. I was looking at the Corvette's and notice for a couple of years or so of Vette's had 165BHP with auto trany's. They had pictures of the front and rear of the cars...hmmm...OK, wait my Corolla weighted in at about 1800lbs and the Vettes of that era came in at 3,800lbs. The REALITY 1800lbs/98BHP = 18lbs/hp and 3800/165BHP=23/hp..5 pounds per hp advantage for the Toybox. I know what the ass end looked like on these Vettes. After reading this, I went for a spin and stopped at a light in the curb lane AND well what pulled up to me a 165BHP 70's Vette Auto. Remember I'm 17yo, driving a car I paid $350 for, the Vette was probably in the $10K range! I rev my 1.6L up, he must have been laughing, I did not look over. I launched it at about 4-5K, lock and smack into 2nd. I heard him squeal at the start and immediately the sound of his engine started to fade! Slam 3rd and he is 5-10 cars behind me. The light ahead is red and we ran about an 1/8 of a mile. It's summer all windows are down in both cars! He pulls up finally :), he's a guy in 30's or 40' and says, 'I see someone put a V6 into their Corolla', I am looking over and he is both smiling and sure of himself. Of course it's funny, but pathetically SAD...So I had to break him the news, '...Nope no V6 just the 1.6L Hemi the car came with..'. He almost cried(really!) and soon as the light change, he turned left and he did not lift. I tried to wrestle others, but they turn as fast as they could and I met my first 'kill' and he was still in disbelief. The best part of this story is that it is COMPLETELY TRUE!!! Have fun and stay safe. Mark
that corolla is fuking awesome i love it
That's fkn sick. 8's gotta be at the 1000+hp mark
wow this is amazing.....what kind of hp/tq is he putting down ?
That has to be one of the fastest ke20s in the world surely
Badass!!!!!
awsome
yes. blew the bottom end up but its still around
Wow , amazing ,...
I've had it for a year in 1972
Look up Nugget Garage on TH-cam, He has his own channel now. The car is currently being rebuilt for a return. Plus see his other tough builds.
I think i want a corolla..
that's a fast corolla.
one words...
OWESOME . . . =)
Holy shit, that is a nasty Corolla!!!!!! LOVEIT!
In the final, it was faced up with a car that was out from a crash right?
What size slicks will they hold? 26x10.5? Or 28x9s
prob a silly question, is this corolla still gettn around??
That ain't no stock block motor in that there Corolla!
I bet my turbo Yaris could do 16s at 85 mph. LOL. I love the 2JZ engine!
what a little animal
Ah, that Cressida at the begining! Love those cars.
What about the engineering costs to do a engine swap with a 2JZ in whatever old jdm car you choose?
it either still is or was street registered a couple of years ago
It's MPH mate.
What front rims are on the cressida?
