- Phil Penny’s wild Honda S600 is one of the wildest engine conversions we’ve ever seen. The car is powered by a 3.2L Toyota 2JZ engine boosted by a huge Billet Turbochargers 88mm turbine. With little room in the engine bay the turbo now hangs right out of the bonnet of the tiny Honda. Putting down around 1000hp to the tyres is a tough ask!

The car was a piece of rubbish when they got it, hence the build. They have another s600 that’s all original I believe.

Love the car!! Don't think I could bring myself to use that car though. Better off saved. Well anyway I had a guy on You Tube argue with me that no one has ever filled there blocks with anything like sand, etc to make a block stronger. Here is a guy that did exactly that. He didn't understand that the majority of the cooling systems job is to cool the exhaust valve.Depending on the fuel you use, you can get by without any coolant for drag racing purposes. Once again I really like the car. Good luck in the future!

Hey Fullboost, do most of these high horsepower 2JZ builds use shimless buckets (lifters) or shim-under-bucket conversion?
I don't reckon they still use stock shim-over-bucket style valvetrain on these right?

True Natalia, only seeing it in the flesh can one truly appreciated its size and build quality. I've parked my VW beetle next to it and this Honda is shorter wheelbase and roof height is at the beetles trim line. Its tiny!Turbos that big are under loads of drag cars bonnets, but on this car it's in ya face, as well as the car making it look bigger. To your dads credit, that was the vision and effect he wanted before the turbo was even manufactured for the car.Phils a legend car builder and person. Been building out of the box rides for decades longer than interweb trolling was thought possible Try not to let the keyboard warriors worry you.

sucks to say,he would be faster with a smaller turbo...very sick tho!but my guess he would be able to launch it better smaller turbine this size is overkill,weight saving as well and a more balanced powerband instead of all this mean torque barelly boosting this turbo...we will see very nice build i love it!!

car is a work of art. I'd put it on e85 pump fuel and make the same power and be able to drive it around to and from car events/shows. The motor isn't breaking a sweat to make the power it's making.
