    Haha.. so many viewers complaining about not showing how you extracted the 4 bolts covered by transmission bell.. oh my god..Yes it is a bit fiddly but people are so lazy and expect the wonder happening from a yt video. They should rather scratch their head and figure out... or at least try.. for God's sake. The pan on my 1.8t is heavily 'glued' to the block by rtv and that is a real hassle to pry... without breaking the delicate alloy.. :(

    thanks for the video. i wanted to do my s3. But after watching your video- Audi is annoying , putting so many bolts and awkward places and it's a bloody waste of time. Sometimes I wondered if German car manufacture did this on purpose so their technicians/workshop can make more profit by doing so. By the way, I retapped the threads to 15mm adding a new stainless coil. Since, no more stripped. Steel is stronger than alloy.

    One question, do you have to smear the gasket before you install? I just put the pan right on the engine after I squeeze them on the surface. And I don’t put gasket behind the screw hole close to the edge.

    • @OGsBuilds
      @OGsBuilds  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you dont have to i just did it to ensure that everything has good coverage as well to not miss any spots & so it disperses evenly when i tightened everything up.

    • @wizkid01
      @wizkid01 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its better to smear it because on these aluminium oil pans you don't need a lot and by smearing it levels the sealant over the surface, gives a more even coverage and keeps it thin. Doing it this way there's more chance of getting a good seal and less chance of leaks.
