- To commemorate the birth of Akali Guru Nanak dev Ji, in November 2018, we put together the following clip, where Gurdev Nidar Singh Nihang covers the history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's shastars (weapons).
It may well be surprise for many, especially Sikhs, that Guru Nanak Dev Ji did in fact upheld the Kshatriya (warrior) Dharam (law) and carried shastars throughout his journey, in line with his spiritual path.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Tega (curved sword), Chakar (throwing disc) and Chimta (tongs) are safely kept at Takht Patna Sahib museum in India.

gurdev is saying that theres is a big misconception between the sikhs that guru nanak dev ji was a peacefull someone who didnt carry weopons but this is not true guru nanak dev jis tegha (type of sword) is at patna (south of india)
so yes guru nanak dev ji did carry weopons he also carrying a metal spear in written history its written that he also carrying a dagger and wore a chakar (qouits) the metal frisbi type of things that are used for war
