I had the q2 great bow. I do now have the lift 29.5. I'm 64 mainly hunt Mi and Ky. your drawing back perfectly. lift a little more quiet. way more dead in the hand. Definitely the best bow out there. the bad thing, with your quiver, sight, and go pro on the front end, why would u add another stabilizer out there. Buy the back V- bar attachment and hopefully u don't have to buy the 9 inch back bar and u can use that inch. But definitely take that front stabilizer out. I use the tactacam and no way would I add more weight out front. it's perfect with back bar balancing my setup. food luck not a bad video, you'll get better. get the exo limb legs you'll love those too. good luck

Nice video i hunt polk co. Wisconsin myself. First mathews I bought was the switchback. One thing id recommend to you i watch some videos on punching the trigger. Ive shot for 40 years now always shot fingers growing up. Then had to go to a mechanical release and i was a huge trigger puncher. Lead to the worst possible target panic the archery world has ever seen. I almost quit hunting because it was so bad i was just going to video my brother because i have to be in the woods. Then i got a hinge release and everything came full circle for me. Ive never shot better than i do now with a hinge and after all that i have full control of my shot execution now no matter what release i use. Just thought id throw that out there for ya. Best of luck with your new set up !! 🦌🏹

im 5'11 and have a 29 inch draw I would think at 6'2 yours would be longer my wing span is 73 inches which is 29.2 when divided by 2.5.. maybe your arms are short or mine are long?? most times the nock should be under your eye and string should touch the tip of your nose not come past it to your cheek. but as long as you like it and can shoot who cares I guess enjoy your new bow its a great bow..

Appreciate it. Again I’m fairly new to all of this so I’m sure some of it is me but I’m going to double check everything. At least with this bow it’s a lot easier to change mods.

Awesome you got to upgrade after so long of using that antique, lol. I have a Mathew’s DXT still that I keep ready to use as one of my backup bows. Still shoots just fine. 16-18 years old? Wanted to say your bow arm is bent too much. This makes your real draw length longer if you would straighten that arm out some. Not a locked elbow but just barely bent. That trigger release you have is setup entirely too long. Those “ barrel “ or tube designed ones rarely shorten enough. Punching the trigger with your finger tip gets it done but there is a more repeatable and accurate way. Being able to hook that index deeply over the trigger, the deepest joint, sets you up for a different firing process. This is for you to learn to pull thru the shot using your back muscles entirely. Not moving your finger on command. I bet you are timing the punch to coincide with the pin approaching the target? Nearly all punchers do this. Not a big deal killing a deer because you can hit in a 5” or 6” diameter spot. But to achieve a lot better, a lot better, accuracy there’s a better way. Just simply pulling straight back with your back muscles and not moving that finger at all. Seriously, look up “ Tim Conner” and another channel “ bow only outdoors “. Watch their setups and techniques. Spot on for real. That “ solex “ trigger release Tim has is $99. I have one and it’s a great one. Fully adjustable for trigger tension and travel which is awesome. Watch how these guys shoot and their form. Both have excellent shooting form. I guarantee you if you will get the correct DL setup and then get the release set right and commit to some serious practice the groups will get smaller. You will shoot easier physically because you aren’t using your arm muscles to hold the majority of the draw weight. It will be a whole new style for you. GOOD LUCK! 👍👍🇺🇸

It really is a nice bow. Only reason I upgraded was it’s tough to keep spending money on something that just doesn’t have much value besides the sentimental value to me.

I’m in the exact same situation as you. I’m upgrading a 20 year old Mathews FX to a Lift 29.5. Are you able to say that your able the shoot the Lift more accurately and at longer distances?

I think so, the bow is so much more smooth which helps quite a bit. I never really tried shooting the q2 out past 40-50 yards and the pins on that 5 pin had to be so low to be able to do that. I’m sure some of this is the higher quality sight I have on the lift but it still seems much more achievable to make longer shots. It is quite a bit faster so that helps as well. I think a better sight and rest on the Q2 would change things significantly but it gets to a point where I’ve already put more money into it with the sight and re-stringing than the bow is ever worth. So that was the biggest reason to get into something newer.

Sounds good. I’m hoping mine will arrive within a week. I’m hoping for a big improvement from my current setup.

your draw length is way to long on that bow bud

It’s probably my lousy form. I’m 6’2 so 29 should be right based on what I’ve measured? Plus I’m shooting on a pretty uneven surface where my back foot is lower than the front so that may be why I’m leaning forward so much. I’ll have to look again to make sure I got the right mods installed. But like I said I’m no expert so not saying it’s not an issue.

on your lift the nock is past your eye and the string is past your nose, your pulling arm at full draw is pointing much higher then the arrow from your elbow to your hand should be pointing parallel with the arrow pointing at the target.. the lift is longer then your Q2. @@thehobbyfarmer21

Hey dude. Great bows & video. Possibly bow arm elbow bending a little too much. That will bring anchor back giving effect of draw length being too long. I’m sure your shop set it up fairly well.
Also, if you shorten up your release (way shorter) so that you can wrap your index finger right around the trigger, you will have way better results.

Steven is exactly right. Drawlength is not too long .

So this was with my old release. I actually did get a new TruFire foldback and set it a lot shorter which has helped. Still trying to build good form which will only take time for me.
