great archery shop ... adjustable draw stops have existed before on the OS3 Binary Cam before CSS custom shooting systems sold to Horton. I shaped chuck's round stops to include the flat spot and grooved prototypes that simply machined screwed directly onto the cam. It is a great concept to adjust yourself to hit your let-off valley right where you want for a better release and draw length micro adjust. Some finger shooters with compounds really benefitted from this design.

I’ve been shooting an Elite since before they were cool. Still shooting a 2017 E32, bought it for the narrow foot print, sweet grip, and crazy solid back wall. It pulls at 67lbs and flings a 495gr arrow at 272fps. I have never “upgraded” because I just don’t see the value, all I gain on the new bows are 10ish fps, and a few ounces in weight. It’s still as accurate as the day I bought it, sub 6” groups at 70yds. I hands down recommend elite bows to anyone in the market, they are VERY shootable and are easy to tune.

As someone who doesn’t currently own a tree stand or saddle to hunt whitetail 🦌and turkeys 🦃 here in the east, part of me is leaning Hoyt or Mathew’s since they have stands to use among other features. Sadly even if I sell my Prime Black 3 I can’t afford these new models until next year or so.

Friend of mine swears by the vxr. He’s a huge bow freak and was a Hoyt guy for years but thinks the vxr is one of the best. I have a rx5 and it’s a good bow but the elites seem pretty sweet
Why not PSE? Just asking. PSE is putting out serious bows l, qith serious speeds, and performance. I don't see you guys do a lot on them, and I feel they dominate a more than they are given credit for compared to Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Elite so on. I'm brand blind as an archery Manager of a proshop and prior proshop owner. I think everyone has great stuff out these days, but you guys usually don't throw PSE in the mix and I think that is a sad sad leave out because they at times put out better speeds with insane accuracy. Just my 2 cents
I'd like to know the speed from 29 to 29.5 on the Hoyt 33... that last position on one mod to first position on the next mod last year was a major speed dump. 29 was faster than 29.5. I'm wondering how well it's addressed now that they have 3 mods
We know the Mathews is at 85...what's the letoff on the other 3 bows. I doubt it'll get 4 fps more with the 80% mod. The Elite Ethos also has 1/4" adjustment and letoff adjustment. It had this tech for about 3 or 4 yrs. Hoyt just came out with it.
Tim you did a killer job on this vlog and I really enjoyed it. Josh has taught you very well and I give thumbs up to both of you for that and this channel. I really saw that you enjoyed shooting the new 2024 bow lineup from all brands at the end of the day you will be the only one that can make that decision. Just one question to ask you is that if you had narrowed it down between the Mathews and Hoyt which one would you pick and why just wondering because I have always shot Hoyt and I was so happy that you shoot Hoyt right now and I know that Mathews makes a killer bow no doubt about it but if you really had to pick which one! I had ordered the fully loaded RX-8 with all the accessories and the Garmin XERO A1Pro sight with it I went all out. I really think that Hoyt is one of the elite bow manufactures out there and they are just hard to beat. Tim again shoot what makes you happy buddy!!!
The elite has features that the Hoyt has “1/4” adjustments” and let off from 70 to 90.The Bowtech has the Deadlock but Elite has S.E.T technology just seems like that was overlooked acting like Hoyt is innovative and Bowtech is the only bow you can tune at home.
@@jackbuendgen389 I’ve always heard great things, plus I’m a NY’er, I wanted to show love to a company that employs people in my state, hopefully I get to see some more reviews.
Great video man I'm surprised with that elite ethos speed second fastest but it has the longest brace height im wondering if it's just as fast as the bowtech in comfort setting
When you grabbed that elite you said the cam didn’t feel aggressive and yet it was the second fastest. With the longest brace height. 👀 Granted 2fps isn’t much.
My heart is screaming Mathews or Hoyt....but man are they behind on tuning tech. Noone has support like Mathews though. Dying to shoot an Elite but no dealer within 2 hours. Shew. Might be shooting my DXT for another year.
Mathews designs their bows to use light arrow set ups, the 29 inch ATA is much faster while the 33 is a more forgiving platform. Run a Victory RIP EV 350 with aluminum inserts and 100gr head and be wowed by the speed and accuracy.
Nice overview, but still telling people that 1/2” of brace, or DL - power stroke -gives about 5-8fps. It doesn’t. It’s about 4fps. Every single bow I have put thru a chrono has been in this range, whether it runs on fixed mods, rotating mods, or comparing a TRX 3D with a TRX 38 G2. 4fps is the number. Maybe 5 Ona. Good day with some bows, ut I have never come anywhere near 8 with any bow.
@@joshstevens9528 Sorry Josh but your wrong I called Hoyt directly and talked to a tech person and they are all upgraded strings your only paying extra for if you want a different color but the string material and tech is all the same!
Core sr has only .75 reflex. 1st on my list to shoot. Lift close second. I dhot hoyt since early 2000’s but the vtm 31 they sold me last year has some quality issues and customer service on it was disappointing.
@@Fourthkow top cam leaning right and limb deflection was uneven . Looks bad . I got it to paper tune . Hoyt said… “in spec” and sent it back 3 weeks later
I’ve looked at several other bows and none were like mine . Cant get good groups at distance. To me , it’s just unacceptable for a flagship bow . And even more unacceptable that it’s perfectly fine with hoyt. I’m not totally ditching hoyt but I’m definitely more likely to give the other brands more favor in the future and hoyt will always have a mark against them when i look at their bows
I mostly thought it was interesting that the elite was the 2nd fastest. (not by a lot, but still) They really skip over the Elite in every video. Like they make a big deal about the stuff on the hoyt, but the elite has adjustable letoff from 70-90%, draw length in 1/4" increments, 2 different back wall settings, 2 different draw cycle mods, plus it has the SET tech for tuning, and the adjustable cable guard and is less than a 1/4 lb heavier than the lift, but they barely even mention it. Tim talks about how "thoughtful" everything is on the Hoyt but barely mentions the same stuff on the Ethos. What gives?
Timmy, thanks for saying “shitload” and not bleeping it. Really drawn to content creators that talk like regular dudes and leave it. Also, enjoyed the video overall. Keep it up, brother!
My SS34 is an amazing bow. Bowtech has something going on - and I think the fact that the limbs have very little deflection at full draw has a lot to do with it. Couple that with the Deadlock system and wow, a big winner. Their grip is also very repeatable for me. If Bowtech had the marketing behind them that Mathews does - they would increase market share massively in a short time period........
With all of the speeds comparable (with the SR Exemption), which draw cycle felt smoothest? I hope we can see an Athens 33 review, I always regreted not buying the Revolt XL, and then Anthens has the same specs, 33 ata and 7 inch Brace height, but with picitinny, etc.
Shot sense is the same thing as the mantis x8. Id be highly surprised if mantis isn't behind shot sense. The mantis x8 has been out for a bit so I'm really confused by all the hype because this isn't a new concept? I was really wanting some feedback on how aggressive the cam on the lift is? I felt like elites cam was less aggressive than Mathew's last cam and from what I've observed the large round cams seem to have a less aggressive draw. I'm very curious to try the lift to see how the draw is. The bowtech draw looks pretty aggressive, I didn't like the draw of the SR350 on performance with the huge increase right before the dump into the valley.
Whose bow are you most excited for? Any questions or tests you’d like to see done with the bows? It’s going to be a great 2024 friends

Can we get mfjj to review a athens archery bow? Someone please send him a new athens
Have you guys ever shot an Xpedition Xlite?
I like one and done, so Hoyt or Mathews there. I wax my strings alot, I got 7 years on my Hoyt Rampage XT strings before I had to replace them.
Great video man I'm surprised with that elite ethos speed second fastest but it has the longest brace height im wondering if it's just as fast as the bowtech in comfort setting
I want a review on the Athens Axxis 33"
Dig the music!🎤
When you grabbed that elite you said the cam didn’t feel aggressive and yet it was the second fastest. With the longest brace height. 👀
Granted 2fps isn’t much.
Nice comparison review. Would have enjoyed it much more if it wasn't overloaded with ads.
I've been waiting all week for this and the pod to drop.
Thank you my dude 🙏
The Bow Wizard is a way better nickname than MFJJ.... props for the Metallica shirt 🤘
My heart is screaming Mathews or Hoyt....but man are they behind on tuning tech. Noone has support like Mathews though. Dying to shoot an Elite but no dealer within 2 hours. Shew. Might be shooting my DXT for another year.
Good video man! What was that song??
How about testing at 50lbs 28dl.
What rest is on the elite ethos??? Anyone!?
shot the same bows but the 29 inch version the mathews was by far better imo
What the bowtech in comfort?
No, performance
Most of the reviews show the same. Comfort is minus 10 fps then proformance
Thanks! I just picked up one last week loving it so far.
@@Angel.Custodio that's what I'm getting. I shooting mine in comfort
If hoyt and mathews had a baby hey hey hey
Hoyt also came out with a new custom string that comes stock on the 2024 lineup.
If it comes stock, then it's not custom
@@joshstevens9528 Sorry Josh but your wrong I called Hoyt directly and talked to a tech person and they are all upgraded strings your only paying extra for if you want a different color but the string material and tech is all the same!
@@joshstevens9528it’s custom in the fact that it’s “custom” made for their bow specifically.
Save 800 on rx 7 or buy 8? Help
I want the address of this shop, friend, please
I'm loving my pse
No PSE?
So what one did you like most?
Going to take some time to figure that out
@@TimConnor13 I’d like to see a video on the one you choose and why you chose it
Core sr has only .75 reflex. 1st on my list to shoot. Lift close second. I dhot hoyt since early 2000’s but the vtm 31 they sold me last year has some quality issues and customer service on it was disappointing.
What quality issues did you have? I had a limb issue on my VTM … I must have lightly dinged the edge while hunting and it started peeling.
What’s the song
What gives?
I must just be an elite fanboy, ethos would be my pick.
Got one I’ll sell you
@John-xk7uo I've got 3 elites and a prime already, ill be in the market for a carbon bow next. I appreciate the offer though.
Dang right!!!
Don’t know what’s different with the Lift in this video, but I also shoot 29 inches and 70# with a 440 grain arrow, my Lift chrono’d 299 fps
Only thing I could think of is mine being like 72# and not true 70#
😂
@@jakeg219472 vs 70 is about 4 fps not 20.
@@casanovafrankenstein8875 i didn’t just make that up.
@@jakeg2194your chrono is probably fast, every review out on the lift is slower than that
Timmy, thanks for saying “shitload” and not bleeping it. Really drawn to content creators that talk like regular dudes and leave it.
Also, enjoyed the video overall. Keep it up, brother!
Really like the matthews lift. Can't afford it but still seems like the best bow!
I just wish I could get a decent long draw under 1k
Tim = Daddy ❤
Sucks shooting left handed. Of the 4 now shops in my area only one carries one brand of left hand bows. So your stuck with what you buy
This comparison did it for me. Bowtech it is!!
RIP my beloved PSE
In every video the lift appears to have a very harsh back wall.
"it's like how our results will differ when we go to TAC" 🤣 shots fired. mostly by mfjj...mostly misses
What he meant was Hoyt is king
And still the same chit grip on mathews. So light that your gonna overload on stab weight. Light is not always good
You could go back fifteen years and copy paste the flagship bow reviews. Only thing new are a few cake decorations…
I'd do some real ratchet shit for the new elite ethos.
A pro shop owner wearing a Metallica t shirt deserves everyone’s business.🤘
Bowtech 🐐
Jesus loves you all
Funny most "hunters" saliva over speed? 😂😂 And u 2 cream over mathews!!
