- Bowhunter's First Impressions - Mathews LIFT 29.5
This is the right bow for me in 2024. It's by far the best bow that I've shot to date, the 29.5 ATA fits me perfectly and the 80 Pound mods is exactly what I've been looking for
In Christ,
Coley O'Halloran
coleyro
Have the lift 29.5 for months now.
It’s the best bow ever made period.
You will get used to draw cycle.
Back wall is firm and I get consistent shots all the way out to 125 yards.
My best group was 5 arrows 10 inches at 125 yards.
Your going to love it
second to the 33
Good thing you weren't hurt man. The lift is nice, i shot it at the bow shop when i went for my new bow after something similar happening to me with my PSE evo, but with me, my release came out of my hand and came back and hit me in the eye, bent both cams. I went with the Prime RVX32 just because the draw was soooo smooth. Good video though man, subbed.
Thank you for the support🙏
Lift is badass I smoked many hogs since I had it
I have the V3X 29, great Bow. Picking up the New Lift 33 Friday, Shot the 33 for an hour or so, im really liking it!!
Love em
Started archery in 1993 @34 yrs old shooting Mathews single cam bows ...owned mostly every model along the years -the creed , rival pro-ultra max - z-7 -mq-1-conquest pro- etc...I currently own a modified trg8 -Trx38-trx-36 and now Im 65 and shooting a lift 29.5" ....
Lite fast quiet smooth accurate zero vibration in hand and oh string angle /\^ 🤔no problem 🤙🎯owned pse/elite shot Hoyt bowtech martin obsession...always went back to Mathews ....🏆🎖️🥇🏅
I commend you on your bow choice and your choice in dogs. Boxers are the best
The wife had to convince me on the boxer haha, love em
Awsome video. I just got the lift 33 and thinking to jump from 70 to 80lb mods. Are you shooting 250 or 300 s
Thank you friend. We experimented with 250's at the bow shop and at 28.5" draw length they were too stiff even at 80#. Shooting 300's with 155gr up front is perfect on my setup
@@ColeyRaymond sweet thank you
I REALLY like my Lift 33. A 29.5 might be in my future just because. This video makes a great case for having a back up bow
Great idea
You don't have any older models for a backup?
@@gordonneverdies
Yea, I’ve got a Traverse. My comment was just me making an excuse to buy another bow.
Nice video I really like your channel, btw how do you find practicing with 80#? Or do you practice with lower # bow? What # would you recommend for someone new to archery btw? Given young male who already trains/pretty strong
80 is no problem for me, I train with the same setup I hunt with👍 Form is critically important but the higher the draw weight, the more lethal the bow can be. So draw the highest weight possible WITHOUT sacrificing form. Don’t be scared to start low and work up with weight a little at a time. My wife’s bow for example, she shoots a mathews prima thats got the mods/limbs for 60# but we backed the limb bolts out to 46# for few weeks. Then to 49# for a few weeks and now she’s at 53#. Little at a time she’ll be at 60lbs. Have fun with it! God bless
I have a lift also it being my first flagship bow I love it
Love the review and the shirt man 🤟🏻
I have a Glendel buck. I know some people don't like them because of the legs but the big square core is awesome because you can shoot towards the vital v and rotate the square every time it wears out. You can also shoot the middle once you get past comfortable range.
I got ride of my v3x because the mod was destrpying my cables at the sharp bend in the mod. Maybe 200 arrows and the serving was split and fraying the string.
Just take a piece of plastic tubing (with a slit in it)the right diameter and slide it over where your cables rub. I had that problem on my my TRX38 and it’s a nonissue now. Super easy fix.
Crap bow shop…they missed a bad cable?! They should’ve looked your bow over good especially when one cable went bad
So what bow shop doesn’t replace cables when you need the string 🤔 cables and string are sold as a pack that was the shop fault
So whats your new arrow setup going to be ? I have a lift 29.5 my specs are 29inch draw 80lb 80% letoff im wanting to be around 500grains total unfortunately i havent got to enjoy the bow much it just came in june and is taking me time to piece everything together its so expensive
Mine will be closer to 438, swinging much lighter this year. I'll make a video on it soon 🙏
Don't you love a free bow
I wish it was free😂
Shoot for score or the kill? Obviously, scoring gives accurate feedback but I shoot my 3-d targets for the kill like your wife does. I find it more relaxing somehow although I’m trying to hit about the same diameter spot as a 10 score ring but no score ring. Each shot brings into play a mental vision of some hunting scenario. Many of which are just memory playback. 40-+ yards is my max on deer and antelope but will shoot at a pig a lot farther just to get it off the fields.
Love it 🙏
I’m going to follow you and your wife’s hunting adventure and any videos until then. 309 fps is awesome. I assume you will be using a mechanical head as most with fast arrows tend to do? A new bow takes a lot of serious shooting to become familiar with it and a week out on a hunt is kinda scary. At least it would be for me. But I’m OCB on all my hunting equipment. Good Luck
Thanks Tim! We’ve been shooting all year round, we’ll get ‘em dialed in!
I'll pass after testing it
I’m a hoyt fan but the Mathews is certainly a good choice for a bow and it’s certainly a quiet bow and the sound of the bow string is more a dead thunk than a ting if that makes sense 🤔
Agreed
80lb draw, geezzz
Love Fred the Boxer
how do you like your lift any issues?
No problems yet!
You know they have a life time warranty right ? 😂
Doubt they will warranty a bow that strings and cables we're not kept up with properly which caused the failure could be wrong
warranty doesnt apply to aftermarket strings
@@ColeyRaymondcorrect, you void warranty with non manufacturers strings
Ok, but it's more than halfway to the next model
Thats a fact! Wanted to wait
@@mikiethegreat9457 yeah your right but how much better could they possibly get than the lift 33
@@josephbullock1296 I'm sure a lot of people said that 5 years ago with the VXR.
@@mikiethegreat9457 I agree with that 100%
Really dig the shirt!
That's masculinity printed!
Where’d you buy the shirt
Only Mathews fan boys say "you'll get used to the draw cycle" instead of buying a Mach 30 and have the smooth draw cycle you've ever seen on a 30 ATA bow 😂
Cant go wrong with any flagship bow these days brother
@@ColeyRaymond no, I completely agree. But I recently heard a guy at my local club tell another one that his lift was nice. And his response was, "it's a Mathews what'd you expect?" typical answer from someone with who follows mathews religiously lol. They're the only people that look down on your equipment when you're not shooting a Mathews. Not all of them, but the majority.
@@jonathan_guerreroThe bigger question is, why let this bother you brother? Life is too short. Let others have their own opinion and don't let them get under your skin. You are the only one still bothered by the comment and that guy is still living his best life loving his new Mathews.
@jonathan_guerrer My sanlida dragon will kick any bows ass ever made.
If a draw cycle bothers you that much, you’re clearly shooting to much weight. And it doesn’t matter what you shoot, if you pickup a different manufacturer’s bow, it’s going to feel different then what you’re used to. Especially speed bows.
