New to us 1086 and Wil-Rich 2500 24ft field cultivator first pass on soybean stubble. This field wasn’t tilled in the fall and will be soybeans again this year. Playing Around with the 1460 and 1020 in Poor Soybeans

Trying to get the 1020 set on the 1460. Crop was terrible and the field was super rough so the head was pushing terribly. Also, forgot that the trap door under the feeder house was open. Won’t forget that again! #caseih #combine #harvest #internationalharvester #soybean #1460

Finally got the header on the combine. Forgot to mention you may need to make a slot on your feeder driveshaft for the PTO style hookup. You may also need the feeder faceplate covers or modify your current ones to mount the header on the combine. I didn’t have to do this but have heard that it may be needed for other machines. Soybeans, a deer’s favorite snack
มุมมอง 98ปีที่แล้ว
6 acres of soybeans and not a single plant that doesn’t have damage from deer. Combine that with drought conditions and it doesn’t make for a big crop. Hopefully we will harvest enough to pay for the seed and fertilizer. Worst case we should be able to get plenty of venison this hunting season!

Apologies for the shakiness as the current and tide was very strong under the bridge. Lots of Mangrove Snapper and baitfish in the area. Very low tide. #fishing #florida #dunedin #snapper #underwater
2023 Soybean crop update! Not looking good!

Between drought conditions since planting, deer damage and weed pressure, the soybeans are looking a little rough. May not be a great crop this year which is disappointing being our first year growing beans! But we can’t control the weather so we will take whatever we can get. Hopefully we start getting some measurable rain amounts! Many portions of our area are facing the same conditions. Plea...

      @thehobbyfarmer21 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think it would cause a rattle. It’s mainly just something that needs to be done on any of these NP transfer case models since eventually you’ll have a hole and lose all the ATF in there.

    This may sound like a dumb question but where is the harness on the combine? we've always used a cable for our 820 header and just bought a 1020 and trying to make the float work.

    • @thehobbyfarmer21
      @thehobbyfarmer21 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Does your combine have electric over hydraulic controls or do you have and early machine with the twin sticks and all hydraulic controls? If it’s a later one with electric controls, the harness should be on the left side of the feeder house in wire loom with the little black plug on it with 3 wires.

      @thehobbyfarmer21 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t rebuilt it yet, the parts are a bit pricey so just going to hold off for now unless I need another one. If you just do bearings and seals it isn’t too bad, but I was going to upgrade the 16 series shaft that’s one piece.

    LOVE the brush meters... we ran plate planters for decades until we finally bought a 7100 Deere planter. First thing I did was swap in Kinze brush meters and Deere plateless hoppers for the old bottom-drive plate-style hoppers. The Kinze brush meters are basically 'set and forget' and the only thing to set is basically the population on the planter transmission. I could dial it in for 52,000 seed/acre on cotton, 80,000 seed/acre in sorghum, or 120,000 per acre on soybeans, and that's EXACTLY what I'd get. I did a lot of testing on the turnrows, chaining up the press wheels and inspecting to see what the seed spacing was like, and it was always dead on. Stands looked just as good as neighbors with new vacuum planters. I had the opportunity to buy a fan and meters and hoses and stuff and had considered briefly converting the 7100 to vacuum, but after seeing what the Kinze meters could do, I was REALLY glad I didn't. My BIL runs an air planter and there's WAY more to set and keep and eye on, more wear parts like seals and cutoffs, disk wear, adjusting blower speed and vacuum levels, singulators, etc... The Kinze just has the one moving part, the seed disk, and the brushes, and it does a beautiful job...

      For me it’s tough to say as I didn’t keep too close of track but probably 8ish hours if I did it in one day. This definitely took me a few days as I just tried to fit it in when time allowed. Biggest thing is dismantling and degreasing/pressure washing everything since there’s a lot of dirt/grease under all the fenders and floor board.

      Yes, leak free and now we don’t have to use adaptors since most equipment we have has the pioneer style couplers. You just push in your coupler and then pull out to disconnect. They will dribble a little oil when you disconnect but similar to any other connection.

      Great simple machines. Aftermarket parts support is very good compared to other brands of that age. Biggest thing with electrical and with any combine is to keep them clean to avoid rodent problems. Mice seem to be the biggest issue with wiring damage. As with any combine don’t let dust build up either to prevent fire issues.

    • @thehobbyfarmer21
      @thehobbyfarmer21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shaft does come out but it’s next to impossible to get it back in without further splitting the transmission. The shaft is quite long and very tough to try to line up the splines it fits into in the back of the transmission. I made that mistake and ended up having to split it further. It’s not a terrible big deal if you already have the tractor split but just extra work.

      @@mustang19641964 I use Messicks as they have online parts catalogs. If you go to their website you can type in L3010 and find a breakdown of the propeller shaft assembly. There are 2 seals which should be part 09500-25388. The sleeve that the seals ride on is 53582-5352-0.

    • @thehobbyfarmer21

      I also forgot the shaft fits into a collar in the rear of the transmission. The collar fits onto male splines and that is what will fall off into the transmission which then you have to go fishing for it.
