I mean... I'm the creator of the 3DS preservation mod, so that would probably be covered eventually. There was a Shuffle video in development for a while, however considering how long that video was going to be and how terrible my last long video did, I don't have the motivation to finish it.
I doubt it, I think they made it this way because this sort of feature has a better chance of still allowing the game to be possible to 100% in Japan specifically. In Japan, assuming the game became somewhat popular, and you're playing near its release, you were likely to at least get a few of the legendaries if you kept the game asleep in espionage mode. That doesn't translate outside Japan though.
I thought about this a bit more since, this in no way even stops used game sales. They didn't advertise that this is how that feature works, even in game, the legendaries have "Unknown" as their locations. In fact, for a long time, the legendaries were assumed to come from other modes. (Which to be fair, Trozei Battle we still haven't gotten the full rare pool yet, that is the only one that MIGHT also have them.) You also don't get to pick what the Pokemon is upon booting a new copy, so buying a new copy and buying a used copy have effectively the same risk, EXCEPT, buying a used copy, you might be given the opportunity to see the Pokemon before purchase if you ask. If we were talking about Pokemon Ranger's Manaphy Egg, you'd be correct, but the Trozei Legends don't make any sense in that respect.
I got super lucky with my used copy and had the egg. However, I still can't justify not allowing myself to get the egg if I wouldn't have gotten it, and would almost certainly just use homebrew to do a true save data reset. This one was just so antiplayer lol.
Should have watched this video first. The only comment I could find online is someone claimed to have saw Regis when they got past level 100 on endless mode. I've been struggling to get to level 100 - I can make it to 93. I finally decided to watch this and... See that it resets to level 1. Infuriating! I had this game when it came out and now I remember at how frustrated I was that I couldn't complete the pokedex!
0:36 if there were more trozei games i presume that the phobos battalion would also have symbolism of other moon pokemon like lunala and roaring moon. Maybe if there were more we would have trozei characters in masters EX
I mean, yes and no. Sure, the ones that were supposed to only be one time on a fresh cartridge are likely going to stop existing some day, but just like with Trozei, ways to fully reset the cart's save data exist which allow Manaphy Eggs to be reused, and any emulator running Ranger can easily start from a fresh file, and those Eggs can also be transferred. Besides, there are always going to be those weirdos who collected sealed games which will have a few more, and even ignoring that, there's people like myself who just still have their legitimate Manaphy Egg which no plans of actually using it.
