"Honestly, it drives like a brand new car." That's no surprise - it IS a brand new car! Absolutely beautiful, man.
ah bisa aje lu
This is what you call a complete restoration, I love the work and dedication that this guys put into this GC8 🙌
As an owner of a 2009 Legacy with 453000 km, original engine and tranny and clutch, it is a pleasure to watch fine work and perhaps will inspire me to re-do my Legacy,
Thats awesome! I did a big overhaul on My 02 wrx at 570k last year. I now hope to get another 20 years out of it!
You definitely know the secret to care and maintenance with your car.
Better quality paint finish than the factory! Well done
Any real car guy can respect a build like this. Just beautifully done fellas.
That is some of the best work I've seen in terms of a full restoration. Have my subscription. You deserve it.
Thanks friend, means a lot!
Mad skill. Another GC8 saved.
Thanks brother 🙏
@@TheSubieSanctuarybud like your Subaru STI 🎉🏆💯

Perfect job
Amazing I must say ❤

Amazing Build!!!!
My respect man!!
Thanks brother!
There are not many sports cars in Korea. They are almost all sedans and SUVs. Nowadays, clubs and other clubs are gradually forming after restoring cars from the 1990s and 1980s. But even in Japan or the U.S., these restoration cultures are developed a lot. I'm just jealous.
It is always interesting to see how different cultures react to keeping the classic tuner cars going.
Some places they are just daily traffic and some places they extinct almost
@TheSubieSanctuary That's right. Isn't it a difference in corporate perception? I have a question. Is it easy to get parts when restoring famous Japanese cars in the 90s and 2000s?(ex nissan skyline gtr series or Mazda rx7 or Toyota ae86 and so on)
@@user-ev4gk6qr3z I find with the popular classic japanese cars that they are somewhat easy to get parts for compared to more off beat classic jdm cars. Only issue is the prices for getting parts for them and its really spread out in terms of places to obtain the parts.
But i would say the popular classics do have pretty good support still!
You lads kicked ass
Kudos
Thank you 🙏 it was a journey
The internet is not ready, Subysanctuary. I can hear all the other local Subarus like 🙄 as you roll through with solid floor pans and strut towers. I like how you taped the plastic to the floor for a cleaner spray 🤘.
I'm also stoked that you're driving it to shows. She gotta see the streets too haha So awesome guys.
**that Gran Turismo vibe tho
The Rs 16s look so much better than 17in StI Bbs imo. Just perfect
Thanks brother, I agree. The 16’s with a very plush size tires and a bit of lower really make it look the part! Couldnt be happier with how it all came together. She has driven to 2 shows so far and one rip down a local twisty road. Probably got one more in her for the year
Amazin🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 nice nice transformation nice gc8 ..
What a beauty
Fave car, dropping a follow to see future projects. 😁
Thanks friend! Appreciate it and they only going to get better!
bravo toko
Great restoration guys ❤❤ new sub
Thanks buddy! I sub’d back as well 🙌
damn amazing job on that subie! the 700h hit me hard lol, I fear it's gonna be the same for my civic restomod project.
Have a I got a treat for you then, just finished edited a civic resto we did. 370 hrs into 10 mins 😳 ill post it in a couple weeks.
Keep at your project, the end is worth the effort
This is sweet.
Is this Grand Turismo restoration game lol its fkn wild hahah - Resto job likes this makes grown men cry with tears of joy lol
Thanks friend, It almost made me cry. Such a journey
GOAT
Nice.
Evo 3 rival, nice job 👍
Very nice sir
My mate has just bought two barn find wrx’s and ones a ra it’s been sat in a warm dry unit since 1998 it is amazing condition zero rust
Incredible! The wrx ra is super hard to find. That is really a sweet find! Gives me goosebumps thinking about it
I noticed your car has a cage is that a proper rare option from Subaru or a aftermarket one?, the proper ones have Sti stamped on them, love your work by the way your car is now to nice to use lol
@@bunsofsteeeel honestly Ive never seen an RA without the cage them in. I know they were not installed in factory but maybe something that was installed at dealer? Would actually love to know
@@TheSubieSanctuary that’s funny because I’ve never seen that many ra’s with cages, I owned a Sti ra that didn’t have a cage that was a version 2, I believe it was a factory option in Japan for ra models to be fitted with a cage
@@bunsofsteeeel yes good point, its only been the v2’s ive seen but cant recall the status of the sti ra’s vs the wrx ra’s.
The wrx ra’s were even more stripped down then the sti’s so maybe they were more destined to be off the lot and into racing. Dean at type-ra.com would definitely know the origins of the caged early ra’s
ABSOLUTE WEAPON, WELL DONE LEGEND
El video es mareante

Super labombastic fantastic skolastic💘
こんなレストアショップ、日本にも有れば良いな。仕事も完璧。ガレージの中は色々な年式のインプばかりだったが、スバル専門なのだろうか?羨ましい限りです。
ありがとう。私にとっては大きな出来事です。

This is great. Good job. Do Targa Newfoundland.
Would be a dream!
@subiesavers 3:04 👌
good restoration, where i can buy all the bushes? thanks!
I got every bushing from superpro, except for the rear subframe to body they were from hardrace
I have so many question for you for my own GC8 JDM build!
I could imagine 😂 this was a mission getting all the parts together to do this
How do I get in contact with your shop. I have a type ra that I would love to have this done for. Love your guys work very clean
Thanks brother! Easiest to reach out on our intsagram @the_subie_sanctuary
Or email the.subie.sanctuary@gmail.com
Hey so we changed your tires and since we had it up in the air already we went ahead and ripped off your side panels, and replaced every single component. Oh and we also deflanged the hyperdrive fuse box manifold
😂 wouldnt that be a treat for someone
como quisiera que me lo regalen ajajajja saludos desde chile por esa grandiosa nave y un excelente trabajo
Thanks brother! I appreciate it 🙏
I'll bring my '99 2.5RS coupe right over!!
We are gearing up to do a coupe shortly!
What red is this??
Beautiful restoration but you went through all that just to have NO underbody protection?
Type ra’s never came with any under coating. Thats what makes them special.
Compared to original it has 2 coats of epoxy then red paint. Under normal circumstances it will never rust unless dragged over rocks or something to get down to metal
What’s stopping him from calling this a 2024 sti?
😉😉
donde consigo repuesto de Subaru
How much was the bill? $100k?
At the time, it would have been about $75k, now with inflation and huge rise in shipping cost and services costs. $100k is probably current cost to do this parts/labour.
do you have a link for that samco hose kit? never seen one for these 90 degree turbos.
I found it on their Australian site, it wouldnt ship to Canada so I called them and they sent it. Was probably 5 years ago, but hopefully they still make it
@TheSubieSanctuary absolutely based. Ill do some digging. Been looking for something to replace these old rotten stock ones. I found a new oem one on yahoo auctions but thats it.
@@quinnanderson3926 a blue set here, but ya I had called samco and they had it on hand in black which was my preference.

@@TheSubieSanctuary thank you!!
Doesn't type RA's have roof scoops like the type r? Also I am personally restoring a 2000 SF5 FORESTER STI type 1. I'd love to know where you source your parts especially for a Japanese exclusive car.
This is a wrx Ra, not and sti Ra. The wrx was the same drivetrain as the sti but the wrx was more stripped done. (Lighter)
I got the parts from all over the world really. Europe, Australia, Japan and some stuff around north America.
Found this site to be good for Japanese specific new parts as well Japanparts.com
@@TheSubieSanctuary incredible information!!! And thank you for the interesting site!
@@mr.smoosh1998 tricky to navigate the site sometimes but found a few needed things on it. Another interesting tip I found is: if you find the part number for some jdm specific part. Honestly call your local dealer with the part number. I cant count how many parts they were able to get jdm parts for me. Even if the part comes up no applicable model or not in warehouse. Subaru will send it from japan to north american warehouse.
Ordered more stuff this week, takes like 3 weeks to come in but subaru pays the shipping 😉
would you do this again? xd
I would like to inquire about your services!
I would do this again! I have a 1995 impreza coupe that Im going to do in same fashion
I have a 98 2.5rs and located in ontario as well, any way to contact you? @@TheSubieSanctuary
It would be cool to see a cost break down of projects like this or something similar!
I think I will do a sit down follow up vid, with video shots in great detail to show how much effort really went into it. Along with cost of parts/time/external services.
I do have it all kept track of 👌
@@TheSubieSanctuary That would be awesome! Although I'm scared to see the final number haha
What province you guys in?
Ontario!
D A M N
Don’t sell the car. That’s your pension plan 😂😂
Do you guys sell these?
Ill be selling this one
we both know the restoration isn't done until you find the spare tire cardboard piece lol
Oh man 😂 i have thin sticks holding the trunk carpet up
I want to spray my car I this red can u tell me what red it is
Cardinal red! Code 936
@@TheSubieSanctuary how much quart u used to spray that car?
@@classicjmuziq1970 3 quarts would do it. 4 quarts if your doing the engine bay and undersides of hood and trunk
@TheSubieSanctuary and the other stuff tht u spray over it to give it tht glass look how much of it would I need?
Give me my car fren😂
Please save more subies
Every day 🙏 we have 3 on the go currently. A gc, gd and sg
Oh heck yeah don’t stop lol. I have a handful of subies , a couple have turned into projects 😅but I plan on getting them back on the road. Thanks for the motivation lol
r u hiring? :)
If you can do metal fab and welding then yes for sure 🙌
Wl motor no es de alli dese auto es de un subaru impresa
fuck me you guys do nice work!!!
Thanks brother!
@@TheSubieSanctuarybut i'm scared to know what this cost lol
@@crobertsson7030 it is my own car, I have not yet totalled up the parts cost. But labour would have been like $40k Canadian at the time. Now probably more like $50k with todays rates 🥵
Fantastic but if only we could the sound of spanner’s and speed guns, polishers instead of bloody music
@ACF
Nice.
