I had no idea who Robert Keen was until hearing Eddie Penny tell his extortion 17 story and what it was like experiencing it. I have boundless amounts of respect for the way he flew out to Jason Workman's memorial and sang I'm Coming Home. He didn't know him, hadn't heard of him, and the way Penney tells it is someone got in contact and said Jason was a big fan and he was aboard the helo that went down. Robert flew out and sang for nothing but paying respect to a fallen warrior who was a fan. Paid his own way out and back. That's so awesome! Bonus... His music is really good! The kind of music you feel and not just hear. Thanks man!
Rest in peace Jason Workman thank you dearly for your service and Thank you to the Wife and children of Jason Workman, your family’s sacrifice is immeasurable and there are just no words. It was a somber privilege to hear his story on SRS.
RIP Jason! Was from the same little town as Jason. Went to the same high school. His brother, Corey, was one of my high school baseball coaches. Jason was and will always be blanding, Utah’s hero. The most bad ass person I’ve ever met!
Didn't know who this guy was but i watching SHAUN RYAN SHOW EXTORTION 17 and came here to check out who this guy was.I'm not really into country music but got to say this is a great song and reminds me of another song but cant remember what it is *REST EASY BROTHERS RIP*
We’re living near Stephenville Texas now, this song invokes great memories of growing up in San Jose area and time spent in the Santa Cruz mountains and beach. 🇺🇸💪🏼🙏🏻
I was born in San Jose and lived in Santa Cruz until I was 10. I grew up listening to KPIG. Sleepy John lived down the street from us on Branciforte Drive. I love this song.
@@Steppenwolf27 Branciforte Dr.!!!!! Right on! Makes me wanna check car bumpers and windows for Mystery Spot stickers!!! I’ve seen them in very surprising places as I’m sure you have as well!! KPIG! 107”oink”5. Great music! KJIV in Oregon reminded me of KPIG when I lived up there. Great format!!! I worked a lot in the Santa Cruz mountains a lot and hated driving back home down the hill when I’d loose KPIG radio reception just before reaching Lexington reservoir . (Before streaming and satellite radio) hahaha
Only recently discovered REK...on my constant playlist now and making up for lost time!. Awesome music, great songs with real meaning. Keep up the great work mate.
Oh man I've been listening to him since the mid to late 90s. They used to play his music all the time on 99.5 and 95.9 FM in Dallas Fort Worth. A true legend.
Yes I Was At Sleepy John's When He Said Hay REK Why Don't You Bring Your Ol Ladey. I Was The Long Hair Working On John's Green Ford P U. Wish I Had Ask Unkel Sherman Ask To Hold Up So I Could Walk Over To You And say How-Dee. Still A Fan.
