    Thank you for an excellent revue. It has helped me to make an informed decision on a rod purchase. Keep the revues coming.

    Amazing bit of footage at the end of this very informative tutorial. Love the cockerpoo chilling! They are smashers!
    Back to the fishing, yeah, what a cracking trout, thanks for sharing👍

      Thanks Dave, yes I think it’s the best I’ve had this season …. Had a follow from a similar sized one minutes later

    I like glass because I fish a local reservoir that also has largemouth bass and the glass can handle occasional bass without breaking

    very nice video. Could you compare Finetail Fibreglass BFS Rod with Dan Kung GLASSFIN rod? I 've decided to buy one to them, but not sure which is better.

    Very nice commentary on UL rods! Can you provide the info I’d need to find the pinkish “Ayushi” rod on Aliexpress? I can’t locate it on their site. And it sounds like exactly the kind of fiberglass rod I’m looking for: stiff butt with fast action. Thanks!

      Thanks mate, I am actually selling that rod if you are interested…..it’s basically new and amazing quality imo

      Thanks, but what I’m really looking for is the spinning version of your Aoushi Ejection BFS rod. (I found the earlier review you did of it.)

    im local to you and fish the same river stretches! i was just wondering if you can recommend where to get an ultralight bfs rod? ive got one thats 2-10g but id really like something that will cast stuff 1g and less

      I guess it’s a matter of what you want to spend. On AliExpress you could buy the ace hawk cu double which will cast sub 1 g or the tsurinoya troutmaster 3 / elf ajig (these are both sub £100). Personally I would strongly suggest a glass or glass carbon mix rod as they load up so well with ultra light lures. Contract Jamie needham (needham tackle) he stocks all the tsurinoya and kuying rods (so does dan sales from 97 tungsten on Facebook ). I personally don’t fish sub 1 g because it doesn’t suit my style of fishing , this majorcraft finetail glass is a beautiful rod , the tenryu rayz spectra is up there with the best (but you may have to remortgage your house), if you contact Denis from Deezee fishing he can source some top end glass bfs blanks (and build them)

      @@theoccasionalangler6956 thanks mate, i'll have a nose at those you've suggested, i remember when i got into drop shotting around 6 years ago maybe more it was similar then, so hard to find stuff and even harder to find in a local tackle shop! im quite liking the look of the kuying teton SUL

    • @theoccasionalangler6956
      @theoccasionalangler6956  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThisIsMyUsername01 kuying make good bfs rods, majorcraft seem to specialise in BFS more than most brands. I have owned the speedstyle and finetail… both excellent rods

      @@theoccasionalangler6956 yeah I've seen some lovely ones! Being newer to the bfs side of things I don't want to break the bank just yet and normally that would send me to the 2nd hand market, but again that seems fairly thin with bfs, if you're ever selling anything, being local I'd be interested.

      @@ThisIsMyUsername01 I have a custom made bfs rod that I might part with… but it’s very high end 1-6g

    whats the biggest fish you've caught with this rod?

    • @theoccasionalangler6956
      @theoccasionalangler6956  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a 7lb pike. I’m sure you could catch fish much bigger on it, but you wouldn’t have much control over the fish. The limiting factor is line. I only run about 30-40yrds of 4lb mono, so a big fish would likely spool me

    Hi, what is the weight of the rod?

    • @theoccasionalangler6956
      @theoccasionalangler6956  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the rod is roughly 75g and it is rated 1-8g casting. I think you would fine with this rod upto 8g lures, but they would have to be lipless or short lipped at that weight

    Had that exact finetail and it broke the first day I used it from a snag. I dont like hollow fiberglass rods, they are way too delicate.

    • @theoccasionalangler6956
      @theoccasionalangler6956  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest either there was a weakness/fault in the blank or you over did it getting it out of the snag. They are delicate trout rods, but compared to their carbon stablemates I would say they are bombproof
