Nice vid , looks a nice area . Like the look of the rod aswell , think I might get one of them . Had a go at trout and grayling with the bfs gear before the trout season ended last year and really got into it , caught nearly all the fish on a 1.6in crazy fish nano minnow in white or yellow and 2g jig head . Can’t get back on the rivers with the bfs gear till the coarse season opens again though because of the clubs rules .
Very nice, I have the aioushi micro player , which is the 1 piece version. It is actually fast actioned so helps with those hooksets. I tried singles , but like you lost more than I landed , so have opted for barbless trebles (no problems yet). Try the Savage gear stickeltwitch , I will be realeasing a video this week on it (bloody amazing lure)
Like the look of the Stickeltwitch. Can’t believe how much Trout thrash about. Hopefully I have found a stretch of water where I can catch some bigger fish. Mind you I need to practice my casting more. It’s all about the timing with the glass rod. I may take my carbon rod next time for the damn as it’s will cast a lot further with my technique
Nice one mate, I live in the south east, Surrey/Hants border, we have the same problem, with everything being tied to fly anglng and, in particular dry fly. You shouls be able to cast a fly on a good setup so what is the difference?? perhaps a campaign for Dry fly on BFS set up, just a thought
Great idea Alan. Now we use single hooks i cant see a problem. I can walk the stretches of river that hold trout all day and never see an angler. I really think if nothing else these clubs are missing a valuable income stream. Dartmoor National park included. More anglers would also be on the water to keep an eye on it. Licenses could be granted and numbers on stretches limited. It might well lead to more fly anglers. Sure there would be problems but they could be managed.
@@TheConstantAngler couldn't agree more, I have a very light rod rated to 2.5gms also sold as a "trout" area rod, I can cast a nymph of 0.6gms without any problem and almost as far as a fly rod, so why can't we use those for trout angling instead of having to put up with "fly only" elitism?? I rely think it is time for the fly only brigade to wake up and realise we are all anglers.
A stunning Devon freestone Wild Brown Trout river. Devon freestone rivers are home to small 7-10” inch with a 12-14”er being a specimen. However they are beautifully marked fish.
At last !! - someone fishing the conditions I have to fish here in France , congrats on the Brownies , my favourite fish , cut my trout fishing teeth on fly and nymph , whilst still my preferred method , BFS is a cracking alternative , and still needs fair amount of skills to fish water like that rough stream.
Great video mate love that stretch of river and the dam well done on those trout I’ve out super finesse lures like 2-3cm spoons and cranks to be amazing in the river and 5cm sinking cranks to do well in the dam
@@TheConstantAngler yeah definitely a little bit along the dam on the side you were fishing There's a stream that runs out into the res the trout often hunt close to the shore waiting for prey to come down stream you can always get out the wind there. It will make sense when you fish that
That’s a tricky one. You can get some graphite spray that might help but I can’t seem to find it. Candle wax on it might just make a difference. Otherwise measure the diameter of the blank and get a new handle to match or you may be able to get a smaller socket
Couple of nice trout. The first one still with it's parr markings, I think you need to strike a bit harder as they've got quite hard mouths. Even then they're bit of a Houdini fish and can throw hooks very easily at times.
I have lovely rivers where I live now and the mighty Usk on my door step.... Fly only everywhere. So annoying but I just buy my permit and fish them with soft plastics and crush the barb on the jig head. İf anyone says anything I tell them I got my permit, it's debarbed single hook and if they carry on i tell them where to go. Worked so far lol
@@TheConstantAngler I think as long as it's a single debarbed hook it should be allowed, I see no issue with lure fishing on fly only waters if you fish by them rules. I really love the tsu dw63 lure you had on, I got a few colours of them, my best trout lure hands down. What size single hook have you got on it as I want to swap mine but don't know what size hook to go for. Can't wait for your next vid btw.
What a beautiful stretch to fish mate. And a couple of little beauties landed. Realising the advantages of bfs when casting to those nooks and crannies. 👍

Haven’t used SP’s yet but great excuse to get some more lures. Unfortunately the rod is hard to source now. I must try to find some links.
Pretty fish that second larger one. Thanks for the vid. It was an enjoyable watch.
Cheers. Appreciate it
Really nice video. Bfs fishing in such a stunning area...... gorgeous.
Beautiful scenery indeed!
Great fun 👍
Incredibly clear water. Beautiful area!
It sure is beautiful. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if you catch.

They are lovely special things
nice video, at 7:43keep the rod down because they shake the hook when they are being skimmed / jumping
Cheers for the advice mate.

Very Cool Adrian 👍🏻😊
Hi Mate , What do you clean your DWU reel with . And what Bearing oil do you use after cleaning
Reel maintenance with the Deuthlon Starter kit.
th-cam.com/video/18Ffv4uhl3w/w-d-xo.html
Acetone for cleaning. Sorry i missed this originally
very professional! Aioushi is known as the noodle-like rod. Wish you can try on our fiberglass rod with strong backbone
I would be quite happy to do so but need to find a water with more consistently large fish.
Hi! I’m from Indonesia. Could you teach me how to fix it when you put the blank into the grip and still loose

Think you might be right. They definitely get off the hook easily
What length is your rod?
1.47m or 4.83 feet. Hope that helps

Love it. We are getting to the point where we can cast 0.9gr Nymphs on BFS gear. I can’t yet but surely this is fly fishing?

Sure is mate. Only wish I could cast as well as some BFS chaps I know. Practice makes perfect
