I watched an episode from season 3 of the original Star Trek series the other day. There was a man who was immortal and who had taken various identities throughout human history (some quite famous) and had grown quite depressed with human aggression, and the loses he had suffered. He chose to live in seclusion on a remote planet in the future.

Very proud that Highlander has its inspiration in the Royal Armouries :) We haven't managed to collect any HL props as yet, but we did make sure to acquire an original poster at least.

I really prefer the script to what we got. If there's ever a reboot, I hope it's closer to the source material, although I'm okay with longer sword fights.

The short sword fights may make more sense, but as any Hollywood fight choreographer would tell you: this is the movies, not real life. You've got a movie about immortals. You want to make it a franchise and sell toys to kids? Have cinematic sword fights

I do like the idea of the sword fights being short, almost samurai style like. The sword fights should have been short but really intense. If you’re fighting to survive in the way that the immortals do then I don’t think you’d have these long drawn out dramatic fights like we saw in the film. Joe, is that a Fish T-shirt? I love Fish/Marillion. I saw Fish live a couple of years ago and he was fantastic. Fun fact - Marillion were asked to compose the soundtrack for Highlander before Queen but they declined because they were touring to promote the ‘Misplaced Childhood’ album.

I have mixed feelings on that; dramatically I like it but if you're as old and skilled as these guys should be, they should be fighting each other to a standstill at least some of the time.

@@jonathanferguson1211 Yeah, I see where you’re coming from. I suppose you could mix a blend of short and long fights, depending on the skill and style of each immortal.
