I've purchased the SteelSeries 9x and returned it to buy others and also purchased the turtle Beach stealth 700 Gen 2 two separate times with both headsets until i was completely sure of the headset i wanted and was good for me after about 7 separate returns and repurchasing i just Repurchased the SteelSeries 9x for the 4th time this time i will be keeping it because it has surpassed all the other 10 headsets I've tried within this time also I purchased better cushion ear pads leather on Amazon that are compatible with this and I purchased the skin from mighty skins also a new strap to match and now I am finally in love with the steel series 9X because of being able to customize it and finally realizing every other Headset does not have those features and audio-wise in my opinion still series are better than the stealth 700 a bunch others including rig 800 A30 and so many more the A50 has similar game audio IMO but with the steel series I can hear the enemy walking up from what seems like they're on the other side of the map...😂lol I am extremely pleased with the steel series 9X I have gave so many other headsets a chance and the funny part is I'm back where I started with the steel series 9x and the price is now 140 on Amazon so with the extreme price drop it is definitely worth it
I bought the 9x for 100 dollars brand new, so it doesnt matter what other people say about them, great headset for casual gaming at a great price (for me) 😁
This is a very good headset . Can use to pc by Bluetooth, via xbox wireless adapter and male to male 3.5mm Im using this with my elgato wave3 by 3.5mm And the only downside where i made a mistake was the earcover i try to clean it cause its sticky. Huhu it gets sticky thru time :( but dbrand has a skins to cover it up. So thats the solution.. Haha godbless dude
I know I'm way late, but you didn't notice much difference in audio with Atmos because the game likely didn't support Atmos so it was just doing regular audio. Turn Atmos on and play halo infinite or forza and you'll notice it.
Fantastic video! Full of information that have been after. I have been after a great headset for gaming on Xbox sx while taking calls from my phone and I also want something great for watching movies through aux. I think this 9x will do the trick now, is there a better one that would work?

Oh, good question! If your Smart TV doesn’t have an option to connect any Bluetooth devices, I don’t think there would be anyway to use it wirelessly. You’d have to connect it with a cable. But, if you connect to an Xbox or any other Bluetooth device - no cables are needed.
Thanks for the review. While it does have Bluetooth that I was kind of looking for, the micro usb is a hard pass for me. If these keep getting bought, they will keep getting made.

I'ave always wanted a Steelseries headset so even though all Steelseries Arctis 9x (2019) seems more expensive than other compatriot headsets, the lack of a wireless dongle seems like a straight up cash grab. To the point the bluetooth lag is around 1 second when connecting to a pc. That makes the headset almost useless without the dongle, which is of course sold separately. I was impressed with other videos about noise cancellation on the mic and the bluetooth connectivity with a user's phone however with a 23.5 inch brim of a hat, I was also concerned about the fit. As almost all other manufacturers provide a dongle, the lack of an included piece of hardware wasn't even conceivable to me. But the text that says that this headset needs an adapter which is not included is literally less than1/8th of an inch (the font is 2mm or less) on the *side* of the packaging. After 3 years of being out, Steelseries is still selling this thing without a USB dongle for PC as a cash grab and way to penalize the customer. The Turtle beach Stealth 700 Gen2 (2020) not Max (2022) comes with the required pc-dongle, still has bluetooth pairing capabilities for your phone and USB-C dongle for faster charging. The default ski-band only needed slight tweaking to fit my head. However the deal breaker is that the bluetooth lag was as bad as you can expect. The Razer Baraccuda X (2022) for less than half the MSRP has bluetooth for android phones (other devices as well) a wireless dongle for your PC and is subtle enough to take outside as a pair of headphones to listen to music. When you need to make a phonecall is the issue as the detachable mic is unattractive in public. The Blackshark V2 pro provides superior comfort, clarity and ability to tweak the EQ but you look like you're going to fly a Huey between '54-75. I was generally unimpressed with this headset as a PC user and I encourage people to watch your original TB Stealth 700 G2 review. That was a 2022 headset that beat this 2019 headset if you use a pc.
Awesome to hear your thoughts! I feel like there's no "perfect" gaming headset out there. Each brand has it's own issues, and some high-end headsets miss critical features that I want in a headset. Wish there was one that "did it all".
Dude do me a favor please! Play a cross platform game on your Xbox and have friend play on PlayStation. Use the headset to play online and then connect the headset to your phone as well, and connect to the PS app and join the group chat. Let me know if you can join the ps group chat and still talk and listen clearly to everything in your cross platform game. Thank you!

I got this for PC - Chat/game fader doesnt work for PC. My xbox dongle stopped working for my PC. Year later left ear speaker stop broke so speaker swings almost 360. I found charging port can be temperamental.

I'm watching this video and it's a little better, so the previous video must have just been poor quality, but let's say it had a higher maximum volume, that wouldn't have been an issue. It's still not even close to the max volume. That should be the MAX a "content" volume would be like 50 60%.
I brought this headset. And it didn’t even last 6 months. One of the hinges of the earcups just broke off. And makes the headset unusable. This is one of the most common issues that this (and any steel series headset with a similar design) can break. I hoped it didn’t happened to me. But it did. I’m getting a TB gen2 max. And I hope that lasts. Usually turtle beach headsets don’t disappoint me.

I think you could swap out the ear cushions for more comfortable ones. I’m not sure what the size is either though. Just make sure the Amazon listing says these headphones are compatible 😁

Sound quality is a nice improvement but the comfort and ability to leave them on for hours is the biggest leap. Also think the mic hides better when not in use. Now I do/am having issues connecting it to my PC to upgrade the firmware so it isn't without some faults. Maybe it's my Windows, still looking into it. If people do have issues hearing you, look into the wifi connection and see if the 2.4 vs 5 ghz is screwing it up.

PLEASE REED BEFORE YOU BUY! I purchased this headset back in 2019 and it has just now finally reached its last straw. It is definitely a good headset but there are issues, one being connectivity. This headset would go through periods of time with no issues what so ever but then for close to a week it would constantly not be able to stay connected and would be very annoying, this headset also would have a issue where it would be partially on in different ways for example, my mic would not be muted and I can’t talk (audio still fine) but it won’t turn off to reset until it disconnects naturally which could take up to 10 min. Another issue I had with this headset is about the build quality, all In all it’s pretty amazing but where the headphone price connects to the arched top piece is a weak point and after 2 years one side became extremely loose and after another week the only thing keeping it connected was a internal bump on the connecting piece, also just this week it happened to the other side and after that happened my mic no longer works so I am not forced to buy a new headset seeing as my warranty has ran out (all connection issues seam to only be present in the older Xbox’s with my experience, doesn’t mean they won’t still have some trouble here and there but the majority of those issues seem to resolve them selves or shrink significantly on the new Xbox series x I have now)
Don’t buy this head set. I have it it was great until the hinges broke. I didn’t abuse this headset. It is a known issue because of the brittle plastic holding it on to the ear cups. There not reinforced enough to last more than 2 years typically.
I got this headset a few years ago after watching product reviews on TH-cam. All of them gave it awesome reviews. I make enough and play enough Xbox to spend a bit on headphones. I want something nice that works. Unfortunately this headset has been a headache. I’ve had to have it replaced twice due to battery defects or due to it constantly disconnecting from Bluetooth. I would be in a match having fun with friends only to have it disconnect and reconnect immediately nonstop over and over again to the point where I would want to throw them on the floor. While customer service has replaced it I don’t think I should have to go through that hassle and have to wait for new ones to ship in. I’d avoid this and go for another brand.

The issue with the 9x is that it’s essential you update it and from there. Mess with the settings on a PC. I wasn’t happy with the default sound. So I had to change it on the pc app.
DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET! I’ve had it 16 months, it’s under 2 years warranty and steelseries are completely useless. They have more or less stated they can’t do anything. All they say is turn it off and on etc. however it won’t charge/ turn on/ re set. Stuck in a very annoying position. I will NEVER use steelseries again for anything

tried these out, but had static/clipping on the high end. messed around for 2 hours and took them back.
If u guys are having connection issues just plug ur Xbox into the wall instead of power brick cause the power brick doesn’t put as much power
