I just never knew there was so many "Rights" such as "Right here , right there, Right everywhere" this gentleman can put a BAM "Right" just about any where. If you don’t like the green accents on the strap, you can just flip the whole strap inside-out so the green is on the inside. Works perfectly and looks a lot cleaner
Expecting my set to be delivered tomorrow. Im so excited to try them out. Edit: they are super comfortable! The sound is amazing. The mic works without having to extend it our so I can leave it tucked in place. One thing worth noting is it doesn't come with the wall plug in, only the usb cord part. Also turning on and off takes several seconds, maybe 6 or so lol I know its not a long time but it is noticable.

I had and returned the Gen4 A50s as well. Mic quality is crap no matter how much tweaking I did in the Astro Command Center. My 9x microphone sounds great right out of the box. Then my Astros would just be recognized almost every single time I turned my console on. Had to unplug them then back in each and every time. Such a inconvenience and pain considering they are a $300 headset. The Arctis have much better microphone and sound better in my opinion for less money. Astro cannot continue to pump out garbage and rely on their name alone to sell it
1st off TECHNE I think your unscripted reviews are amazing. After seeing your review on these I purchased the Arctis 9X and here are my detailed thoughts on them. THE GOOD: Sound stage: 8/10 Not audiophile headset, but everything is very clear, clean, and crisp. Comfort: 8.5/10 (based on weight and ear fatigue) Headset weight - Super light on head, can wear all day. 12-16 hours no issue on the head. Ear fatigue - Mesh ear cups very breathable, Ears start sweating after about 60-75 minutes. Faux leather ear cups extremely comfortable, but ears will start to sweat after about 25-30 minutes of continued wear. Both ear cup styles extremely roomy and large ears fit comfortably in them without any problems. Connectivity: 10/10 No other headset offers more connectivity options. 9X offers Bluetooth*, 3.5mm, Direct XBOX One wireless connection. Plus you can actually hear all 3 audio inputs simultaneously. Battery life: 9/10 The battery will last 2 days without charging if you are using Bluetooth* or Xbox One Direct Wireless connection for 10-12 hours per day. If you are in 3.5mm the battery will hold a charge for up to 15 days in my test. Price: 8/10 The headset is under $200. This is a good price point, but a little high for there age and what you get with them. THE BAD: Connectivity: So the 9X headset connects via 3.5mm, Direct XBOX One wireless connection, and Bluetooth*. The issue is the Bluetooth only connects to mobile devices, if you want to use Mac or PC internal Bluetooth* its does not work. If you purchase an external USB Bluetooth adapter you can get the device to connect via Bluetooth*. Also in order to use the mic headset mic on a PC or Mac with a single input\output headset connection you will need to purchase an audio y-splitter to split the feed of the 3.5mm headset jack and you will need a USB adapter to input the split feed into a USB adapter. This increases the cost of this headset. Comfort: The headset comes with only the Mesh ear cups. While the Faux leather ear cups are inexpensive and easy to purchase, it is just that they are an additional purchase ranging from $15 - $20 per set. So yet another purchase and an increase in the price of this headset. Battery life: My only complaint with the battery is that it is not replaceable and similar headsets at this price point have replaceable battery packs. Price: So everything I have mentioned creates an issue with the price point of this headset. What starts out to be a $199 headset becomes much more. The purchase of the Faux leather ear cups $15-$20. The purchase of splitter cable $10-$15. The purchase of a USB Bluetooth (or XBOX) adapter $25-$40, and the purchase of a USB external Sound Card $15-$200 (all depending on your choice). Once all of these additional add-ons are computed into the price a $199 headset becomes a $275 - $475 headset. Which as you can see moves the price point a long way from what you originally buy into this model headset for. Once you cross the $275 price point you can start looking at other headsets that include all these extras, and once you hit the $400 mark well you are into pro headsets which 100% have all the bells and whistles plus more. Support: The lack of phone support and live chat support (in the USA) is a bit of a letdown. The chat support that is provided is more email support and getting answers is time-consuming. FINAL VERDICT: Look it is a headset that is over a year old and if someone can find it at a price point of $130-$150 it's a 100% buy, but at the MSRP of $199, I would suggest passing on it.

@@k1ngjames075 Hi! I liked them. They just didnt last long. I dont have a pc, as I have ipad/iphone. Was never able to update firmware dor them so after about 3 months they stopped working at all. I have been using some Turtle Beach ones since and they do great. Use them every day.

I can say from personal experience it is an amazing headset the only problem I had was the blue tooth taking over. To avoid this just disconnect the device then your good to go

Steelseries make veeeery good headphones, don't be scared of this extreme design it is comfortable :) Also for those who really likes customisability it is good
Garbage garbage garbage! Do Not Buy 9x. This headset has major design flaws. The headset joint can easily brake from the headband and ear cups. There are also major wireless connection issues from headset to xbox. Consistent disconnection and interference noise in the headset. Sadly the warranty or support will help you with any of the issues mentioned. I personally purchased 3 of these headset 2 snapped 3rd one is basically unusable due to connection issue and Steel Series will not give any support. Other words $600 down the drain. Garbage products sold by a garbage company. Do Not Buy you will waste your money!

I'm very gentle w/ my gadgets, especially since I paid close to $200 and I'd never spent that kind of money on a headset before... these broke just a few days after the 1-yr warranty expired. Super bummed that I spent that money on these. Now that they broke, it's easy to see the weak point. The ear cups aren't the lightest and they are attached on only one point on each ear, so each ear cup basically hangs from a narrow single point which isn't sturdy. For close to $200, they should've been designed better. The mic on this set is crap besides for the price. Additionally, they aren't comfortable to use for a long length of time while wearing glasses.

@@oc9331 I tend not to let other peoples opinions sway me from buying something, after all you can always send them back if you aren’t satisfied. For example I bought the Xbox elite v2 controller and nearly all the reviews said the same thing about stick drift in the analogs really bad after “3 months” Here I am a year later and the controller has no issues at all. Everyone has a different experience based on how much and how hard you game, like I’m not dead rough with my controllers or headsets. Although things seem sturdy I still treat them like they are glass that could break
@@OCruz-vc5vr I bought the steel series Arctis 9x and Lucid Sound for xbox one. The wireless ones... Lucid sound was nice for music and also very comfy and we'll built but they had an annoying sound like a pop So I returned them. The steel series are amazing for gaming. You can legit hear more than the lucid sound as far as gaming. They're okay for music. But I really love them for gaming you can really hear where the sounds are coming from and the computer app to play with the equalizer is nice too. They feel more plastic than the LS but sound wise for gaming they are way better and super comfy as well.

@@OCruz-vc5vr I have only had a few disconnects but not really too many to become a big deal. The other annoying thing is the beep they have when the battery dying always comes in the worst moment and you have you ask your friend's to repeat themselves or you miss info from the game so keep them charged lol. My friends have trouble hearing me in game chat though but through Xbox party chat it's okay. So if you have issues might be with the game itself.
This is pretty good headset. The Bluetooth is a great feature to have. Great sound quality but lacks the theatrical bumps i personally like.... have had little connection issues. Only minor inconveniences. You make some good, detailed videos. You almost have me convinced to buy stuff i can't even use.

@@TheJ0ker_ I know my boyfriend has the 9x and he has had it since October 2020. Just these past 2 months he’s been experiencing connection issues with the Bluetooth feature. I just bought the 7x a week ago and I love them.

I love the videos! I don’t know why it is bothering me so much, but I thought you should know, steel-series does not make an “ARCTICS” headset. It is the “ARCTIS” headset. Keep doing your thing man!
This headset does not last at all, I’ve had mine only 7 months now, and the thing is falling apart. I do not abuse my headset at all and the right ear is now broken and swivels vertically, also on the left ear the plastic started chipping by the chat mix. Just three months in of using it, the right ear had a rattling noise in it. The headset I had before, a turtle beach stealth 600, what felt like a very cheaply made headset, lasted a year and half longer before I had issues with it. The sound quality on the Arctis 9x is pretty solid, tho the build quality is over hyped and the headset occasionally disconnects when using, tho the disconnecting issue is most likely my fault, because I have not updated the headset. These are just issues I have had and might be a manufacturing defect or handling improperly. One thing I know for sure is a manufacturing defect is the rattle, I have seen other users with the same issue.
Thank you very much for your honest and thorough review. The Blu-tooth although very convenient option is a deal breaker for hardcore gamers whom play shooters. That delay you speak can put you at a big disadvantage if engaged with a gamer who is wired. Timing is everything and can mean a big difference on getting the jump on and enemy and can also cause your whole squad to get wiped if you cannot place the enemies position before they can acquire yours. Huge deal breaker.
@@mattsaunders8387 Yes I'm aware that they have some proprietary undisclosed thing going on, and so you are correct. However I've been told it's almost identical in the way in which Bluetooth connects, their just not calling it Bluetooth period. Only difference is that they found a way to encrypt the signal. Very similar in business model to what Apple does with their products. All a business scheme of course too make one purchase only their products or aftermarket products that only become offered once said company is partnered with Microsoft. You can only use their products! Sound familiar? It's all shady business! Now my belief is that the encryption software they use is what may be causing more of a delay to begin with. This is all just speculation of course, and based partly on real observation when looking into their hardware/specs. We won't be finding anything concrete on this sadly, because all the buffoons working in the MS tech departments does what he/she is told while top brass keeps a closed lid on things. Can you imagine Bill minds sharing hard data at MS with everyone. Even they are aware the place is swarming with rats, and Bill being the king vermin! I myself have grown tiresome of their shoddy business practices over the years. Their enforcement team is a freaking joke. If you join XBOX you might as well neuter yourself beforehand, because those freaks are gonna cut your balls off for you, and silence you. How ironic and befitting the name has become over the years... "Xbox" Yeah, lock yourself in a "Box" and throw away the key! X yourself out of society and lock yourself in our Box, we'll even throw in a free HDMI cord to hang yourself with! "You can play our games, but you have no rights!" should read their slogan. Heck you don't even own the games you purchased! Stop buying Apple, Sony, Microsoft, and watch how fast this whole thing gets flipped over on it's head. That act alone can cause a major shift on the governments position on the public. Their willing to destroy everything and everyone before they lose controlling vise like grip on societies. I despise sounding like a conspirator, and this conversation has taken an unexpected turn, but everything being done to us in 2020 has a sinister design behind it. There is always a better way of going about everything that is presented to us, but this Cabal has set itself full throttle on a dark and disastrous path. I keep hearing various figures quoting the same themes by stating; "It's a wonderful time to be alive!" What bogus! Also, Astro A50 disconnects from the base station when you set the headset down to conserve battery life. When you pick the headset back-up again it self-powers on. Pretty neat man. I’ve had both headsets. The overall build, functionality and sound goes to the Astros. It’s worth mentioning the Arctic’s base station has an AUX line in and out, unlike the Astro. I don’t use that as I use music via the console while playing games. If you’re on a tight budget get Arctics you won’t be disappointed. If you have extra money then get the Astro A50’s, you won’t regret it.
after watching this, it is definitely a choice. my other choice is the Razer Nari Ultimate for xbox. they are the same price and have haptic feedback, but i dont know about the sound clarity in either of them. Great video though those do look comfy. did you feel pressure from the earcups on your glasses?
I think the only con is really gonna be that mic BLAH! I'm hoping that the sound quality wired on xbox will sound like the quality when u used it wired on pc. Other then that i'm sold! Wish there was a black Friday discount but I haven't seen any! Keep up the reviews my man!

I was on console at the time and I put it all down to go get something, my wife didnt notice the rubber piece in the supply cup was gone, so my daughter put her sippy cup down the way a 1 year old can and boom, that was it. My revolver s headset is still great though. 😂
Just ordered mine today for the Xbox Series X. I cant find the arctics 7x new xbox headset anywhere. The 7p are available but no 7x so I went with the 9x.
Idk about anybody else but I see this as really useful if u want to bluetooth to your laptop or phone for discord and connected to your Xbox for the game

I just bought these and to say that I'm not impressed is an understatement. I have the Arctis 3 and thought because of the hefty price tag that the Arctis 9x would be a huge update. The sound quality sounds muffled compared to another high end headset in Astro A40 that my brother owns. The directional sound for games like Apex and Warzone is as good as my Artcis 3's, probably slightly better. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion. Also, the Bluetooth keeps dropping. They are incredibly comfortable, and how you can listen to music and pick up phones call seemlessly is also another plus. Spend your money on a different high end set if you are looking to spend this ki d of money, the negatives out way the positives IMO.

This is a copy of my other comment btw... BEWARE THIS HEADSET! Build quality is shit with these. I've had mine for just about 5 months and now I'm forced to replace them. The plastic shell on the earcup where the swivel connects has literally shattered to pieces. I have no idea how it happened as I've been very careful with them which means that general use has broken these things. I assume it's either from setting them on my desk or possibly pressure from relaxing my head on a pillow for Netflix and chill. I've never had a headset break like this. Sound quality wasn't bad (by my standards) and they were extremely comfortable. The wireless features were frustrating pretty regularly with popping and random disconnects forcing a hard reset. I just can't recommend these due to how flimsy that hinge and apparently the plastic shells on the earcups are. Unfortunate seeing as I was mostly singing their praises before today and my friend just bought a pair. Also, after doing some research this is a fairly common issue on the Pro headsets as well.
Press the Xbox button (the button that lights up in the middle of the controller) on the controller and go all the way to the right on the menu that pops up. Go down to audio, and you can now adjust the volume, game to chat audio ratio, and lastly the mic monitoring
@@MrDaneis That doesn't come up for me, what I see when I do that is systems tab. Even when I go to sound I have no settings for the headphones or when I go to connected devices. I can configure my controller but not the headphones
I was gonna get these with my tax return but it was a pretty tough decision between the 9x and the a50 gen 4. My buddy has the A50 and my cousin has the 9x so I got to test both and I ended up getting the a50. I feel like I made the right choice after watching and reading all the reviews but the lower price tag on the 9x was tempting

glad I was able to help. load up the SS software and adjust the EQ, they will sound better than the Astros after you tune them to your liking.

Comfort: The headset comes with only the Mesh ear cups. While the Faux leather ear cups are inexpensive and easy to purchase, it is just that they are an additional purchase ranging from $15 - $20 per set. So yet another purchase and an increase in the price of this headset.
Battery life:
My only complaint with the battery is that it is not replaceable and similar headsets at this price point have replaceable battery packs.
Price:
So everything I have mentioned creates an issue with the price point of this headset. What starts out to be a $199 headset becomes much more. The purchase of the Faux leather ear cups $15-$20. The purchase of splitter cable $10-$15. The purchase of a USB Bluetooth (or XBOX) adapter $25-$40, and the purchase of a USB external Sound Card $15-$200 (all depending on your choice). Once all of these additional add-ons are computed into the price a $199 headset becomes a $275 - $475 headset. Which as you can see moves the price point a long way from what you originally buy into this model headset for. Once you cross the $275 price point you can start looking at other headsets that include all these extras, and once you hit the $400 mark well you are into pro headsets which 100% have all the bells and whistles plus more.
Support:
The lack of phone support and live chat support (in the USA) is a bit of a letdown. The chat support that is provided is more email support and getting answers is time-consuming.
FINAL VERDICT:
Look it is a headset that is over a year old and if someone can find it at a price point of $130-$150 it's a 100% buy, but at the MSRP of $199, I would suggest passing on it.
Knowing what you know now, what would you buy instead? After viewing many videos on the best xbox headsets I've been convinced on the Arctic 9x. I'm interest in what you would look into.

@@k1ngjames075 Hi! I liked them. They just didnt last long. I dont have a pc, as I have ipad/iphone. Was never able to update firmware dor them so after about 3 months they stopped working at all. I have been using some Turtle Beach ones since and they do great. Use them every day.

I can say from personal experience it is an amazing headset the only problem I had was the blue tooth taking over. To avoid this just disconnect the device then your good to go

The Techne um I have kind of a joke question. Is the ski band on the steel series headsets the same on ski goggles
Steelseries make veeeery good headphones, don't be scared of this extreme design it is comfortable :) Also for those who really likes customisability it is good
Garbage garbage garbage! Do Not Buy 9x. This headset has major design flaws. The headset joint can easily brake from the headband and ear cups. There are also major wireless connection issues from headset to xbox. Consistent disconnection and interference noise in the headset. Sadly the warranty or support will help you with any of the issues mentioned.
I personally purchased 3 of these headset 2 snapped 3rd one is basically unusable due to connection issue and Steel Series will not give any support. Other words $600 down the drain. Garbage products sold by a garbage company. Do Not Buy you will waste your money!

I'm very gentle w/ my gadgets, especially since I paid close to $200 and I'd never spent that kind of money on a headset before... these broke just a few days after the 1-yr warranty expired. Super bummed that I spent that money on these. Now that they broke, it's easy to see the weak point. The ear cups aren't the lightest and they are attached on only one point on each ear, so each ear cup basically hangs from a narrow single point which isn't sturdy. For close to $200, they should've been designed better. The mic on this set is crap besides for the price. Additionally, they aren't comfortable to use for a long length of time while wearing glasses.

For example I bought the Xbox elite v2 controller and nearly all the reviews said the same thing about stick drift in the analogs really bad after “3 months”
Here I am a year later and the controller has no issues at all. Everyone has a different experience based on how much and how hard you game, like I’m not dead rough with my controllers or headsets. Although things seem sturdy I still treat them like they are glass that could break

@@OCruz-vc5vr I bought the steel series Arctis 9x and Lucid Sound for xbox one. The wireless ones... Lucid sound was nice for music and also very comfy and we'll built but they had an annoying sound like a pop So I returned them. The steel series are amazing for gaming. You can legit hear more than the lucid sound as far as gaming. They're okay for music. But I really love them for gaming you can really hear where the sounds are coming from and the computer app to play with the equalizer is nice too. They feel more plastic than the LS but sound wise for gaming they are way better and super comfy as well.

The other annoying thing is the beep they have when the battery dying always comes in the worst moment and you have you ask your friend's to repeat themselves or you miss info from the game so keep them charged lol.
My friends have trouble hearing me in game chat though but through Xbox party chat it's okay. So if you have issues might be with the game itself.

This is pretty good headset. The Bluetooth is a great feature to have. Great sound quality but lacks the theatrical bumps i personally like.... have had little connection issues. Only minor inconveniences. You make some good, detailed videos. You almost have me convinced to buy stuff i can't even use.
The Bluetooth and Xbox feature is so good, imma use that for discord and stuff 😁😁

@@TheJ0ker_ I know my boyfriend has the 9x and he has had it since October 2020. Just these past 2 months he’s been experiencing connection issues with the Bluetooth feature. I just bought the 7x a week ago and I love them.
So u avdice to not buy 9x?

I'm sure If you press the home button and go to audio you can turn up mic monitoring to hear yourself.
mic monitoring makes you hear yourself, if you dont want it turn it to zero cuz its practically useless
This headset does not last at all, I’ve had mine only 7 months now, and the thing is falling apart. I do not abuse my headset at all and the right ear is now broken and swivels vertically, also on the left ear the plastic started chipping by the chat mix. Just three months in of using it, the right ear had a rattling noise in it. The headset I had before, a turtle beach stealth 600, what felt like a very cheaply made headset, lasted a year and half longer before I had issues with it. The sound quality on the Arctis 9x is pretty solid, tho the build quality is over hyped and the headset occasionally disconnects when using, tho the disconnecting issue is most likely my fault, because I have not updated the headset. These are just issues I have had and might be a manufacturing defect or handling improperly. One thing I know for sure is a manufacturing defect is the rattle, I have seen other users with the same issue.

Thank you very much for your honest and thorough review. The Blu-tooth although very convenient option is a deal breaker for hardcore gamers whom play shooters. That delay you speak can put you at a big disadvantage if engaged with a gamer who is wired. Timing is everything and can mean a big difference on getting the jump on and enemy and can also cause your whole squad to get wiped if you cannot place the enemies position before they can acquire yours. Huge deal breaker.
now on xbox/pc you don't use the bluetooth when gaming. bluetooth is really just for phone/music

@@mattsaunders8387 Yes I'm aware that they have some proprietary undisclosed thing going on, and so you are correct. However I've been told it's almost identical in the way in which Bluetooth connects, their just not calling it Bluetooth period. Only difference is that they found a way to encrypt the signal. Very similar in business model to what Apple does with their products. All a business scheme of course too make one purchase only their products or aftermarket products that only become offered once said company is partnered with Microsoft. You can only use their products! Sound familiar? It's all shady business! Now my belief is that the encryption software they use is what may be causing more of a delay to begin with. This is all just speculation of course, and based partly on real observation when looking into their hardware/specs. We won't be finding anything concrete on this sadly, because all the buffoons working in the MS tech departments does what he/she is told while top brass keeps a closed lid on things. Can you imagine Bill minds sharing hard data at MS with everyone. Even they are aware the place is swarming with rats, and Bill being the king vermin! I myself have grown tiresome of their shoddy business practices over the years. Their enforcement team is a freaking joke. If you join XBOX you might as well neuter yourself beforehand, because those freaks are gonna cut your balls off for you, and silence you. How ironic and befitting the name has become over the years... "Xbox" Yeah, lock yourself in a "Box" and throw away the key! X yourself out of society and lock yourself in our Box, we'll even throw in a free HDMI cord to hang yourself with! "You can play our games, but you have no rights!" should read their slogan. Heck you don't even own the games you purchased! Stop buying Apple, Sony, Microsoft, and watch how fast this whole thing gets flipped over on it's head. That act alone can cause a major shift on the governments position on the public. Their willing to destroy everything and everyone before they lose controlling vise like grip on societies. Also, Astro A50 disconnects from the base station when you set the headset down to conserve battery life. When you pick the headset back-up again it self-powers on. Pretty neat man.
I’ve had both headsets. The overall build, functionality and sound goes to the Astros. It’s worth mentioning the Arctic’s base station has an AUX line in and out, unlike the Astro. I don’t use that as I use music via the console while playing games.
If you’re on a tight budget get Arctics you won’t be disappointed. If you have extra money then get the Astro A50’s, you won’t regret it.
after watching this, it is definitely a choice. my other choice is the Razer Nari Ultimate for xbox. they are the same price and have haptic feedback, but i dont know about the sound clarity in either of them. Great video though those do look comfy. did you feel pressure from the earcups on your glasses?

I was on console at the time and I put it all down to go get something, my wife didnt notice the rubber piece in the supply cup was gone, so my daughter put her sippy cup down the way a 1 year old can and boom, that was it. My revolver s headset is still great though. 😂

I just bought these and to say that I'm not impressed is an understatement. I have the Arctis 3 and thought because of the hefty price tag that the Arctis 9x would be a huge update. The sound quality sounds muffled compared to another high end headset in Astro A40 that my brother owns. The directional sound for games like Apex and Warzone is as good as my Artcis 3's, probably slightly better. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion. Also, the Bluetooth keeps dropping. They are incredibly comfortable, and how you can listen to music and pick up phones call seemlessly is also another plus. Spend your money on a different high end set if you are looking to spend this ki d of money, the negatives out way the positives IMO.

BEWARE THIS HEADSET! Build quality is shit with these. I've had mine for just about 5 months and now I'm forced to replace them. The plastic shell on the earcup where the swivel connects has literally shattered to pieces. I have no idea how it happened as I've been very careful with them which means that general use has broken these things. I assume it's either from setting them on my desk or possibly pressure from relaxing my head on a pillow for Netflix and chill. I've never had a headset break like this.
Sound quality wasn't bad (by my standards) and they were extremely comfortable. The wireless features were frustrating pretty regularly with popping and random disconnects forcing a hard reset.
I just can't recommend these due to how flimsy that hinge and apparently the plastic shells on the earcups are. Unfortunate seeing as I was mostly singing their praises before today and my friend just bought a pair. Also, after doing some research this is a fairly common issue on the Pro headsets as well.

Press the Xbox button (the button that lights up in the middle of the controller) on the controller and go all the way to the right on the menu that pops up. Go down to audio, and you can now adjust the volume, game to chat audio ratio, and lastly the mic monitoring
@@MrDaneis That doesn't come up for me, what I see when I do that is systems tab. Even when I go to sound I have no settings for the headphones or when I go to connected devices. I can configure my controller but not the headphones

I was gonna get these with my tax return but it was a pretty tough decision between the 9x and the a50 gen 4. My buddy has the A50 and my cousin has the 9x so I got to test both and I ended up getting the a50. I feel like I made the right choice after watching and reading all the reviews but the lower price tag on the 9x was tempting
