I've had them since launch and I don't ever see myself switching from SteelSeries. I've been using them for about 4 years now and the Nova Pro Wireless is the best and most comfortable headset I've ever used.

The last 2 weeks I purchased a bunch of headsets for my PS5, the Pulse 3D, 7P+, Nova 7X. I kept the 7P+. The Pulse was laughable in quality to me, even on sale at $69 I couldn’t keep them, they were bad. I love that the Nova 7X had simultaneous Bluetooth but for me even the first party Series X wireless headset handles it better imo. That left the 7P+ on sale for $109 and sound quality matching the Nova with some tweaking, it was the best pick for me.
4 years ago I bought SteelSeries Arctis 7, the quality is really good, in the meantime I replaced the earphone cushions with faux leather ones. I also bought a belt because it had stretched too much, but I haven't replaced it yet, I just cut off what was hanging down. The batteries are 4 years old and last all day, and I use them several hours a day. The only problem is if someone has a rather large head like me, it is very tight and sometimes my head starts to hurt. I'm planning on purchasing the cable version and was considering the SteelSeries Nova 1, similar to the SteelSeries Nova 7 wireless.
Never owned a gaming headset before, always had studio monitoring headphones for audio production. Just literally ordered the Nova 7's as my first ever, so looking forward to them, be interesting to see how different they are to actual studio headphones as well for music. The mic needs to be dialed back I think (haven’t used them yet) but on PS5 (even with the 7P) you can’t use sonar unfortunately. I think the smiley profile is a decent start but I would increase the bass a bit. You can still hear footsteps and get a fuller sound profile, plus I think COD nerfed the stage distances awhile back

Using the 7 since 5 years now and still works absolutely fine. I love steelseries. Appreciate the chatmix function so much as one who's voice, gaming and listen to music. This headset is just missing a better mic. :3
Great video, as always! I just purchased the arctis 5x and thought I should upgrade to the audeze maxwell. Is there a real significance in sound quality between the two?
hey Techne, i'm thinking of upgrading from the HyperX Cloud Flight S, are the Novas that much of an upgrade sound wise? I'm mainly looking at it for the bluetooth feature.
Revisiting this video, I got the nova 7 about 2 months ago and my cousin is getting the 7+ today. Only thing about nova 7 is it feels like it doesn’t close all the way on the left ear cup like I got a gap I can fit my finger in from the bottom
Hey Techne always good to hear another one of your audio quality rants😁. I got the Arctis 5 after watching your review and I don't regret it since. Upgraded my cushions as well, thanks to you. Absolutely love your videos, keep up the awesome work.
Just bought a pair of nova 7x and I’m taking them back. The sound isn’t that great for me and since I don’t have a PC I can’t use sonar to mess with the EQ.
Just looking at both these sets at the moment so this is stinkin' useful! I have read the Novas are all round slightly smaller, is that right? Do they have the same internal ear cup size for example? :)
Hey Techne! First of all, thank you for the great video. Where would you rank the newer Arctis 7X+? Is it an upgrade in terms of sound/mic to the old 7X? And how does it stack up against the Nova 7X?
I have the tb 700 gen 2 max and think it has a good sound quality but it has audio issue. Not a connection problem but more of distortion when you’re playing and it gets annoying.
those cozy WC look sharp very nice, once i find out if the nova p work with the psvr 2 ill get the headphones and the cozy WC, i took your recommendations for my audeze penrose and I love the WC.
I own the Arctis Pro Wireless and got the Nova Pro Wireless for that $249 you told us about. Have to say there is really difference in Quality and Sound. Both are great but the Nova Pro Series is actually better solution and longer battery life as well.

I have just picked up a pair of the Nova 7x and I love them. I see you can buy the wireless transmitter from the Steelseries website seperatly. Does that mean I can have one receiever at my home machine and one on my work machine and the headset will work seemlessly after pairing? or would I have to re-pair each time I move between home and work?
Picked up the Nova 7 last week at the same time buying the 7+ on amazon while they were $99. Those should come in next week. Hopefully I can make a quick decision if the Nova's are "worth $80" more. What's your thoughts? PC Only. Call of Duty and a little bit of world of warcraft.

HELP! just got my nova 7x's. upgraded from the $100 xbox Microsoft headset that simply fell apart over 2 years. I like the Novas, but my chatpad keyboard doesn't work with them. also, I have to manually turn on and off the Bluetooth to my phone. any help with my problems would be greatly appreciated!
Great video. Where you plug in your charger on the 9s are going to strip out way sooner. The oval on the novas will last a lot longer. Because when you can't charge them they're useless. Or grab the pros then you don't have to worry about it. IMO.
Recently my arctis 9x broke apart on me after about 3 years or so. I used them for streaming, and now I'm gonna go for the Nova. My question is, are the Nova's well enough to stream with. Like me speaking into the mic kind of deal
Yes you should, the old arctis distorted when you tried to boost the bass, also the sound was flat and boring. The new refresh fixed everything, like you said you can finally bring bass out of these cans
I'm looking for this. my priorities is comfort, bluetooth, and sound quality i mostly wanna use this for my online classes for 8 to 10 hrs a day, my current headphones' ear cushions are of leather and they heat so much i get pimples around my temples. are these ear cushions good for long sessions? because i see they aren't made from leather...
Here's a question that might be a little hard to answer: I've been using an old wired Tritton AX Pro for almost ten years now (great headset, by the way), but I've decided it's time to jump on the modern/3D wireless headphones boat. I got a Logitech G935 as a gift, but I didn't like the sound of it on the PS5 (I found the sound very flat, very low, almost without any impact/punch, which I'm used to with the Tritton) and I ended up selling it. Is the Arctics Nova 7x the one to choose?
I'm looking for a great gaming headset for the xbox. Steelseries is definitely set. Now I've seen some of your videos and I'm hesitating between the Nova 7X and 9X. Which would you prefer? 🤔
Great reviews greetings from Sweden! I bought the Nova 7x and I am really happy with these only thing I can't get my steelseries engine to recognise the headset even tried uninstalling the engine and reinstalling it? I understand the Novas have a new firmware but what am I missing if I can't update?
I have the Arctis Pro Wireless headset currently. I use them for gaming and the Bluetooth for work. For gaming I notice the bass isn't the greatest for explosions for fps where it kinda starts getting kinda a static sound? My question is would you recommend the Nova pro wireless over the older model? I'm also interested in the corshair xt wireless as well if you would recommend that one over perhaps both? Thank you!
Which one would you recommend for like full competitive games like I wanna be able to hear my enemy breathing on my left, right up and down all directions you know?
Would you recommend Nove Pro Wireless or the 7X? I’m on the fence since a lot of people complained about the ANC nub on the inside but I’m tempted to try them and see if it’s a problem to me!
I own a Arctis 7 for atleast 3 years now and had it RMA'd due to the volume slider on the left, when adjusting, the sounds from both headsets are fading. Does the Nova 7 have this common issue as well?
So I went ahead and bought the Artis 9X and the wicked cushions and I use the smiley EQyou refer to in the video (not the Sonar software) I feel the Nova 7s would be a downgrade or sideward move do I upgrade to the Nova Pros or for the same kinda money go for the Audeze Penrose X??? @@TheTechne appreciated fella thank you for all your help over the years... And the Stinking Cozy Animal was a twist on the Home Alone quote... Ya see what I did there???
I bought the 9x for Blackfriday because they were cheaper than the nova 7s. the 9x of course doesn't come with a dongle but I only remembered that you mentioned that Xbox is the version to buy... And of course the usb dongle (wireless adapter for windows 10) isn't available at the moment. The lag due to bluetooth on the 9x is slightly noticeable on my pc and I regret not picking up the novus 7. I primarily bought it for the bluetooth connectivity to my phone so that I had a subtle headset for phone and music usage outside of the house... So it works well for my phone but I smend most of my free time on PC. Phone calls are ok, you warned us about the mic quality and i can accept it. But the pc game lag... that hurt. And my 9x, like the A7s are micro usb charging :( At least I can always get wicked cushions
Do both headsets have sidetone adjustability? I am someone who likes the steel series side tone, But I haven't seen anything talking about if the new nova series has sidetone.
ive been using an Apply Headseet from 2014 until today, its starting to die out RN. im looking for an upgrade. Is te Arctis nova pro wireless worth it?
Hi! I have a few quistions about the Arctic series. I currently have had the Arctis 3 for a couple of years and they were ansolutely amazing, but I really want to buy them again. They are discontinued ofcourse so I am looking for a new headset. The one thing I absolutely hate is that everything is now an active, wireless headset, while I am looking for one I can use passive, with a 3,5mm jack in my xbox one controller and still have surround sound. I am very confused because it is a real pain finding out if that is possible with the new models, so can you still use the 7x, 7x+ or 9x without battery and wired like the arctic 3? I really hope I can get one before black friday, just can't figure it out! Thank you!

I’ve been in the market for new headsets for a week now for the same exact reason “wanting more” some more bass you know. With these prices man with tech changing every few seconds i just bought some wicked cushion after watching you video for my 7p and i am ok with that.
Arctis Nova 7/X/P vs Arctis 9/x
Since they both have Bluetooth, which would be the better option?
Just ordered my Wicked Cushions for Nova Pro Wireless. Got to get a review on your channel
Loving my arctis nova pro wireless. Thanks for the advice.
Hey, what EQ settings do you recommend on Steelseries arctis 7 wireless? Thanks
I have the 9x for my series X. Would the new 7 nova be an upgrade?
Using the 7 since 5 years now and still works absolutely fine. I love steelseries. Appreciate the chatmix function so much as one who's voice, gaming and listen to music. This headset is just missing a better mic. :3
Just got the 7 it worked fine then a day after it won't turn on or charge :/
@@cranialcrunch2465 take off the cushion and theres a hard restart should fix
Great video, as always! I just purchased the arctis 5x and thought I should upgrade to the audeze maxwell. Is there a real significance in sound quality between the two?
hey Techne, i'm thinking of upgrading from the HyperX Cloud Flight S, are the Novas that much of an upgrade sound wise? I'm mainly looking at it for the bluetooth feature.
Revisiting this video, I got the nova 7 about 2 months ago and my cousin is getting the 7+ today. Only thing about nova 7 is it feels like it doesn’t close all the way on the left ear cup like I got a gap I can fit my finger in from the bottom
i have those 7's but mine didn't come with a USB C dongle. it came with a USB cable with a hockey puck as the receiver.
I've got an arctis 3, i'll order the nova for sure. Thanks for the presentation. Great job.👍👍👍
Hey Techne always good to hear another one of your audio quality rants😁. I got the Arctis 5 after watching your review and I don't regret it since. Upgraded my cushions as well, thanks to you. Absolutely love your videos, keep up the awesome work.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the LG Tone Free T90. Got them a couple weeks now and they're stinking awesome😅
Thank u so much man
Just bought a pair of nova 7x and I’m taking them back. The sound isn’t that great for me and since I don’t have a PC I can’t use sonar to mess with the EQ.
Nothing seems to state the bit depth and bitrate achievable thru the dongle or bluetooth connection or wired. how high can this go ? 24bit 192Khz?
Just looking at both these sets at the moment so this is stinkin' useful! I have read the Novas are all round slightly smaller, is that right? Do they have the same internal ear cup size for example? :)
Hey Techne! First of all, thank you for the great video. Where would you rank the newer Arctis 7X+? Is it an upgrade in terms of sound/mic to the old 7X? And how does it stack up against the Nova 7X?
My Wicked Cushions arrived for the Nova Pro Wireless. Very very nice.
Why are the 9x cheaper than the 7+? I really thought the 9 was the higher end of the Arctis series
Hej! I really love your content. I got a question. which one is best for xbox arctis 9x vs arctis nova 7x? 😊
Whats a better sounding headset, the Astro A50s or the Turtle Beach 700 gen2 max? Id like to see a comparison between them
I have the tb 700 gen 2 max and think it has a good sound quality but it has audio issue. Not a connection problem but more of distortion when you’re playing and it gets annoying.
those cozy WC look sharp very nice, once i find out if the nova p work with the psvr 2 ill get the headphones and the cozy WC, i took your recommendations for my audeze penrose and I love the WC.
Recommendation…do the 7x and 9x sound better than turtle beach stealth 500s?
Are you able to set your eq settings on a laptop then use them on Xbox? Or can you only use sonar on pc?
I own the Arctis Pro Wireless and got the Nova Pro Wireless for that $249 you told us about. Have to say there is really difference in Quality and Sound. Both are great but the Nova Pro Series is actually better solution and longer battery life as well.
@David Cole are you serious? Nova pro wireless for $249? Where and when did get it for that price?
@@SM4YL-LA Best Buy and Amazon had it around there Amazon Prime Day. The Techne is the one that did Announcement Video about the Deal.. Had to jump on it for that price.
@@davidcole2337 Damn, that’s was a good deal man, the wireless are $349 and the Wired $249 now I can’t wait for them to go on sale again
@@SM4YL-LA You mine for Work and Bluetooth for TV. Like the long Battery Life..
Good question
I don't quite understand if there is a difference between the regular Nova 7 and the 7P/7X variants.
Is it worth the 80 Buck 🤔I’m stuck rn don’t know which one to pick I have regular 7 and honestly I’m just tired of the usb-micro Shits annoying. Now there 60 bucks difference but I’m still stuck 😂
I've got steelseries 7p they are great suits me as a story game focused player however I just picked up the turtle beach 700 Gen 2 max which are awesome also have type c changing which is a lot more convenient
Does your tb 700 gen2 max have audio distortion? I have one and the audio get distorted/choppy. It usually happens when there is like background music and your character is talking/fighting.
@rguzman805 no so far so good just a bit tight is all
HELP! just got my nova 7x's. upgraded from the $100 xbox Microsoft headset that simply fell apart over 2 years.
When will you be reviewing the new Audeze Maxwell set?
Hi, Ive read complaints about the headband on the Novas stretching after a few months. What’s your take on this?
Yes you should, the old arctis distorted when you tried to boost the bass, also the sound was flat and boring. The new refresh fixed everything, like you said you can finally bring bass out of these cans
Is there a SteelSeries headset that could be used both for gaming and work for taking calls?
Hey great video. I was wondering what’s ur EQ settings for the novas in COD and Warzone 2
I like your old red and white techne cog shirt please remake it
I'm looking for this.
my priorities is comfort, bluetooth, and sound quality
i mostly wanna use this for my online classes for 8 to 10 hrs a day, my current headphones' ear cushions are of leather and they heat so much i get pimples around my temples. are these ear cushions good for long sessions? because i see they aren't made from leather...
Do you have any suggestion about headset stands that might as well make the charging process as easy as it gets?
Got the console 3s and straight up love em
I'm looking for a great gaming headset for the xbox. Steelseries is definitely set. Now I've seen some of your videos and I'm hesitating between the Nova 7X and 9X. Which would you prefer? 🤔
Great review as usual Techne 🎧
Soooo, what about the PRO? Is it worth it?
Great reviews greetings from Sweden!
I bought the Nova 7x and I am really happy with these only thing I can't get my steelseries engine to recognise the headset even tried uninstalling the engine and reinstalling it? I understand the Novas have a new firmware but what am I missing if I can't update?
Any EQ recommendations for story based games like GOW, Elden Ring, etc. for the Nova 7Ps?
try some of these th-cam.com/video/kKMOBW7ji9s/w-d-xo.html
I have Razer Barracuda X for my PS5 how is Nova 7p compared with my Razer Barracuda X.?
Did you have to configure the eq settings for the nova p7s with the wicked cushions cuz I don’t have a computer
So either of these have the voice playback? Like where you can hear your own voice in mic in headset
What if the arctis 7x wireless (old gen) is on sale from steel series's website for $89.99 (like they are right now)?
🤔🤨
which one is better for music, novas or 7+
Would you recommend Nove Pro Wireless or the 7X? I’m on the fence since a lot of people complained about the ANC nub on the inside but I’m tempted to try them and see if it’s a problem to me!
Which one is works for PS5 and XBOXS?
Do you suggest the nova 7X or the Microsoft Xbox wireless headset !
How about between the 9X and the Nova 7X which one is better and you recommend? Thanks
I bought the 7P + for a very good deal. They're way more comfortable then the 3D PULSE
love your channel dude keep it up
At the 7x can I use the microphone without stretching outside with Bluetooth and PC connection?
At the 7x can I use a cable extension usb-c to the dongle? My laptop doesn't have enough space to plug it.
I own a Arctis 7 for atleast 3 years now and had it RMA'd due to the volume slider on the left, when adjusting, the sounds from both headsets are fading. Does the Nova 7 have this common issue as well?
For the arctis Nova: Lets say we use discord via bluetooth while gaming, does it lower the game volume?
So I went ahead and bought the Artis 9X and the wicked cushions and I use the smiley EQyou refer to in the video (not the Sonar software) I feel the Nova 7s would be a downgrade or sideward move do I upgrade to the Nova Pros or for the same kinda money go for the Audeze Penrose X??? Keep up the great work bud and all the best to you and yours for the festive period. Merry Christmas ya Stinkin Cozy Animal...
Lol “cozy animal” lol
And if you want something that going do be a new experience, yeah go with the Penrose for sure
@@TheTechne appreciated fella thank you for all your help over the years... And the Stinking Cozy Animal was a twist on the Home Alone quote... Ya see what I did there???
With that eq set up on the Nova 7x on the Xbox, do you use Dolby Atmos as well? If so what eq on Atmos?
Only one other review out there covering this, and they weren’t clear whatsoever.
It's really important to point out here that all that Sonar settings you do on a PC is pointless if you're playing on any console.
ive been using an Apply Headseet from 2014 until today, its starting to die out RN. im looking for an upgrade.
Thank you!
I have the Artics 3 console. Is the 7x or 9x just Sound-vise worth the upgrade?
