Willem Dafoe‘s take on Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin not only scares me as a kid. But remains iconic for today thanks to Sam Raimi’s trilogy. What’s your favorite moment in both this superhero cinematic trilogy and Spider-Man: No Way Home?
I was 8 when Willem Dafoe portrayed Green Goblin and his acting in that movie still scares the hell out of me to this day.

Even tho people use to trash the third Spider Man film in the OG trilogy, I loved it as a youngster.
Some of my favorite scenes were the wrestling scene in Spider Man 1, the food catching on a tray scene, and Toby's dance in Spider Man 3.
I was like 5 and that scene of Norman breaking out the glass scared the shit out of me. He wasn't even in his suit yet, that's why I loved they took his mask away in No Way Home.

Green goblin is Spider-Man's antithesis. Interestingly enough, Doc Ock is *Peter Parker's* dark mirror, and Venom is *Spider-Man's* dark mirror.

No. 15, fun fact: Chameleon was actually the first villain Spider-Man ever fought before after his origin story when he teamed up with the Fantastic Four
They mentioned that he was Spider-Man first Supervillain he fought. But I didn't know he teamed up with the fantastic four?
Spidey had a rocky relationship with the four in his very early stories. Spidey went to the Fantastic 4 in issue 1 to request a job to join the squad, but fought and ended up bailing once he heard the 4 were non-profit. If anything, they don't help them out even though he holds his own against Dr. Doom in issue 5 without any assistance from the 4. In Issue 8, Spidey crashes a party that the Human Torch is at, and they ended up duking it out for a bit before the Thing jums n and clobbers Spidey. At least Sue tried to break it up.

Fun fact regarding Doc Ock: he’s the first villain to actually defeat Spider-Man. Spidey was undefeated at that point and was getting full of himself, wanting an actual challenge. Enter Doc Ock, who virtually outclassed the wall-crawler before defeating him.
And even if he had been defeated before, they were more like setbacks rather than out and out defeats. If what ock did had something comparable on a larger scale, MCU Thanos would be his direct competitor, as that version of Thanos also thouroughly defeated the heroes, not a temporary set back kind of defeat, full on status quo permanently changed kind of defeated.
*If there ever is a next Spider-Man movie in the MCU, I hope the next villain is Kraven, since his silhouette showed in one of the rifts towards the end of NWH.*
It should be in the MCU but Kraven is under Sony I believe, so they probably will fuck it up again
I think Kraven might be off the table because Sony is developing a Kraven movie for its Spiderman Universe (Aka Venom and Morbius).
Kraven is under Sony's control. We might get Tinkerer and Scorpion next.

You can not have a best Spiderman villains list without Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. Green Goblin is to Spiderman what Joker is to Batman this insane behavior person who is his most famous villain and has caused the most pain in ther heroes life. While I would say Doc Ock is the Two face of the Spiderman villains , this villain who is close to Spiderman and has met his most famous villain before in the past before his turn to being a villain
Spider's two worst villains are Venom and Green Goblin. Doctor octopus is the third

5. Max Dillion AKA Electro.
6. MacDonald “Mac” Gargan AKA Scorpion.
7. Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio.
No. 14, hopefully in the next trilogy of Spider-Man MCU movies they'll give him the Scorpion suit and tail if how little an impact he left in Spider-Man: Homecoming

I think Green Goblin is one of the best villains of all time. And Willem Dafoe’s incredible performance backs that up!

The part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the Green Goblin was giving his speech about the villain's curses being powers was so good it literally gave me chills.
The way i see it, villains like Doc Ock, Venom, hell even Fisk, all have some redeeming/human qualities. But Goblin- particularly Dafoe version- is just this monstrous ball of chaos willing to hurt anyone in the name of power or destroying Spider-Man emotionally. So yeah, Green Goblin’s still number one.
I do agree but also Norman the Dafoe version of course actually wants to be a good person. And wants to rid himself of that cackling green face. But I do agree with. Ock , Fisk.and Kingpin can redeem themselves

@@shawziiz5031 I mean I agree but the thing is Goblin never would’ve done any of that if it wasn’t for Mysterio revealing Peter’s identity, causing him to go to Doctor Strange for help, but going horribly wrong. Hell the events of NWH would have never happened if it wasn’t for Mysterio.
Green Goblin is Peter’s archenemy largely due to the fact that he is willing to hurt Peter at a personal level, going after and even killing his loved ones. Few other Spidey villains are willing to cross that line.

Both Stan Lee and Steve Ditko plus John Romita Senior did a great job creating all 12 awesome supervillains for Peter Parker/Spider-Man between 1963 and 1968.
No. 20, hopefully in the next trilogy of Spider-Man MCU movies they bring him back and give him and more comic accurate Shocker suit

Spider-Man Rogues Gallery is Amazing! The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Venom are the Most Famous on the List. But my Favorite Spider-Man Villain is Carnage. Because Carnage combines all Spider-Man Villains.
The Prowler should’ve been replaced by Hydro Man or at least Hydro Man could’ve been an honorable mention. He is the water version of Electro and Sandman and packs as much of a punch.
I would have added in Alistair Smythe crippled robotic scientist at first but then Mutated into the Ultimate Spider Slayer

The funny thing is, I only got into comic books a couple of weeks ago. And yet I know every single villain on this list. Just shows how iconic Spidey and his villains are. Venom is definitely my favorite. His fights with Spidey are always very intense. But Doc Ock and Green Goblin are more iconic for sure.
Doctor Octopus is still number 1 in my Book. Unlike most arch rivals, He form the most Iconic supervillain team. The Sinister Six.

As matter of fact he is one of the strangest and deadliest comic villains, that even he gets to fight with other heroes like the fantastic four and many others throughout the history of the Marvel universe inside the comics. Also Sandman’s character development is particularly interesting. He actually had an affinity for sand before he got his powers, making sand sculptures as a child. His motivations changes in various comics and movies story-lines, sometimes he’s a criminal with a complicated family history, and other times he’s a more tragic character showing traces of redemption.

I was expecting either Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin to be in the top 3 but I also expected Spider-man himself to be his own number 1 villain.
Morlun is one of the underrated. Ezekiel and Morlun story is one of the best Spiderman story ever written.

This is why I do some research the difference between a comic books, TV animations, video games and lastly the movies to compare to which is better fit in my own opinion. 🤓
I'm so glad that this list got the top three villains in the correct place. Norman Osborn/Green Goblin may be the second arch nemesis to be introduced for Spider-Man, but he is #1 and was proven so when he caused Gwen's death. Doc Ock was the first arch nemesis, but he does earn his place for number #2 since he did take control of Peter's body and got close to him with dating his Aunt May. Venom is definitely number #3 since he's a darker version of Peter. Having all of Spider-Man 3 arch enemies in Raimi's films is one of the many great things that works in his trilogy.

Norman Osborne’s Green Goblin is the perfect choice. He is also indirectly responsible for Harry becoming the second green goblin and death, faking Aunt May’s death, making Peter believe his daughter died after Mary Jane gave birth, and getting Gwen Pregnant with twins.
What about Alister Smyth, Hammerhead, Silvermane, Tombstone, Spider-Carnage or Harry Osborn the second green Goblin?
