My next TINY HOME is FINISHED!
A 12x24 (288 sq ft) Shed renovation,
It was in BAD shape at the start.
Check it out here:
th-cam.com/video/Ru6oApi-Xx4/w-d-xo.html
This is a beautiful home. I could live in it very happily indeed! Maybe with just one small add on room for spare bed/sewing machine etc/wardrobe. You are very talented and I look forward to watching more of your videos. 🤗
How much to run the sub panel and water supply? And what percentage of the bill do u pay?
What is the size of the big shed house?
It has already become in the supermarket… Often many times more than the cost per square foot of a regular house
This is way bigger then 12 × 28. 288 sq. Ft. No way.
Jaded person here. Once most people realize this is an affordable way of housing, the companies will jack the prices up. So sad. You did a marvelous job.
I don't think that's jaded honestly. Look at tiny home living, companies charging 80k-300k for tiny homes, smaller than ~800 sqft when you can get a full sized home for cheaper.
Pretty impressed though with this guys home, definitely looks nice overall and something I could find myself living in honestly just a shame I don't have the time (or help) like he did to make it more affordable to get started/finish up.
Exactly they're currently trying to find ways to make housing like these more accessable... I grew up in a single wide 12x75ft trailer, honestly brand new "mobile homes" are ridiculously over priced for no real reason... mass production makes it all so much less expensive for the manufacturer...
@@stasylumbassist1 It is ridiculous. 140K for a mobile home. Just insane.
I disagree. The only thing you're really sourcing is a framed structure. There's still a lot of work to put in. Hardly qualifies as a pre fabricated home. You're bypassing a very small portion of the entire home building process (the framing).
It is not really affordable to most!
This is how young people just starting out can leverage their way into home ownership. I am building a tinyhouse on wheels (my 3rd one) with my 16 year old son and teaching him all the steps from framing, insulation, electrical, plumbing, gas lines, and finish work. He will carry that knowledge with him throughout his life and it will serve him well throughout his life.
home ownership seems less and less obtainable as time goes on.
That’s some of the BEST knowledge ppl need these days. Props to you for passing it on!
The best teachers are their parents that showed with love how to do things and create a home of their own sometime in the future. Good concept to provide to the public since younger generations are not being taught what is important in life and how to acquire the things they need. So thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Please start a TH-cam channel so we can learn along with you. So many young men don't have father's to teach them trades. My dad is 80 now, and he knows how to design, build, and finish homes from scratch. He also repaired cars, electrical devices, and masonry. He was a consummate businessman and serial entrepreneur by day in a suit, who liked to "tinker with toys". My grandfather taught him along with all of his brothers. Growing up, my family beamed with pride that my dad could build or fix anything!
@@feleciaward1563 I don't have time for a TH-cam channel. I am raising two children and supporting a family.
Watching tours of million dollar homes… this one has a better more peaceful vibe. It’s the best compliment I can think of.
The home really does look awesome dude I was forced to sell my house due to a disability
Hell even when I was in my home
If anyone else builds a tiny home, try and keep water lines to inside walls, bathroom and washer backs up to kitchen wall where sink is. No lines on outside walls.
Or just use heat tape like for mobile/traveling tinies
*This ISN'T a "tiny" home. This is a beautiful regular home. It may not be huge like many of today's houses..but it is the size of many regular sized homes that many of our grandparents and parents lived in. Congratulations on creating such a beautiful place to live in. You are truly an artist at heart.* 😉
I was going to say something similar, it's not that tiny. It's bigger than many apartments. It feels spacious inside, like you can walk without ducking or hitting your head, the ceiling height is normal and most tiny homes feel claustrophobic when they have low ceilings.
i was thinking the same thing cause that shed is about the same size as my home
It's about the size of my new mobile home that I purchased last year. It is a beautiful home, and to me, the large, secluded country property that it sits on makes this an even better place to live.
@Tara Exactly. I too wondered how big his previous home must have been to consider this a "tiny" home..lol. It's like the person who buys a Lexus instead of a Mercedes Benz because they didn't want to spend too much money..lol.
@@lestranged This home is way bigger and nicer than my first apartment was! I WISH I had lived in something like this instead.
That’s great as long as you have parents with acres of land where you can connect to their power lines and water lines.
I'm recently widowed, right now I'm living 6 months in my RV and winter months with my son and DIL. Once I cannot handle the RV, I would love to have a tiny home. This is so inspiring, thank you for sharing.
Hats off to the delivery people, amazing.

I have a new phase of my life, its called *Living with no comunication from the outside world in a small home with my two cats* because of these kinds of vidoes. This turned out great, and loved the video!
I love 🐈🐈🐈🐈's, too! 💕💞❤🤗
Yes! 👍🤣
This is communication with the outside world
By far the most magical way to live.
I’m owned by one single cat! 😹😹
And this is what I’ll be living in next year with said cat! And the two lofts will be joined by a long, carpeted board/beam fo cat to have fun! 😊
Its Sept 2024. my wife and I just saw this video of your tinny house build. We absolutely love it. and are giving your ideas a lot of thought to building our own using your floor plan. GREAT WORK!
People keep referring to this shed home as a tiny home, however, at 800 sq. ft. it's bigger than many two-bedroom apartments. By not breaking it up into many rooms, I see that you have not only a nice entertaining space but a really nice-sized master bedroom.
Yeah, I was about to comment to say the same thing!
800 square feet is a *small* home, but certainly not "tiny." And 16 x 50 is the footprint of the structure, so the 800 SF isn't even counting the loft space!
@@Bike_Lion In Powell, Wyoming, one of our cousins has a shed home similar to yours. We visited her this summer and were impressed with what a nice home her kids built for her. The area above the living and kitchen is lofted and they used metal siding for the ceiling. The area over the dining (front door) and the bedroom and bath are storage. It looks really nice.
My 1950s rancher is 950 ft2 and is 3 bedrooms. Every room is miniscule. Two of the bedrooms can only have a twin bed or bunk beds. The master can only have a queen size, but then room for one dresser. The bathroom has floor space for one human to stand. So, yeah. Historic houses are pretty small.
It's only 100 sq. ft. smaller than my first house and I was living there with two other people (girlfriend and a roommate). 800 sq ft for one person is definitely roomier than 900÷3.
I would love something like this where I live. But the issue is that I'm told I am required to have it on wheels. I really don't think that's financially feasible to do.
At 61 years of age, this would be perfect for me, oh well, I can dream! BEAUTIFUL!
Don't dream it, be it😊
Me too
Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds th-cam.com/users/postUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.
This is a good example of what family farms should be. Family staying together on property while filling their need for independent space. The land is paid for so all he had was the build. Smart! 👍
Converting an abandoned shed into a tiny house combines creativity, practicality, and resourcefulness to create a charming and livable space.
This house is the same square footage of my first 40+ old frame house that my wife and I bought for $3,500 and had moved onto our property for $1,500. It was moved from a property 30 miles away from our property. The house was 20' x 40'. It had a living room, bathroom, two bedrooms, a dining room, and kitchen. It was small and inexpensive but livable. We had lived in rentals since we were in college. This was our first home. It needed a lot of work. Four years later we sold it along with the 1-1/4 acres for $58,000.
where/ when was this? those prices sound so delightful
Those numbers are the price of rent now a days...
Lol! My house is 950k on a quarter acre..... where are you living??
it be because of supply and demand the price will jack
@@chickensandwich1589 : No doubt it is.
The music was mesmerizing. Felt like I was watching and listening to ASMR. Your home came out so comfy looking and peaceful. I really like the pocket doors. GREAT JOB!!! 👍👍
it's so nice to see young people think out of the traditional way of living.
The shower separated from the sink and toilet is a brilliant idea. Love the octopus wall plaque.
Me too it’s awesome.
Yeah I agree, it keeps the bathroom section smaller and more out of the way.
I agree. Shower is a great size also.
Very common in older Victorian homes in San Francisco….
I really really like the way he did that.
I've watched this video a few times over the last couple of years, and every time I watch it it makes me want to have a place like that some day. Maybe as a vacation house and or a retirement home up in the mountains or back in the woods somewhere, just me the wife and my dog, no neighbors, and miles from anyone.👍👍👍
I like it good job l hope you enjoy it
Loving how you put everything in one video ❤ with commentary. Some of us are impatient lol
The blocks are perfectly fine. My grandfather built a single room shed as a craft shop for my grandmother that he later enlarged to be a two bedroom house for my uncle. It all went on blocks like this and that house is still standing and in level over 30 years later. In fact most of the older houses were built this way where I grew up. It's only the newer construction that uses a concrete pad foundation. And given that one of my friends has had to spend tens of thousands of dollars fixing his concrete pad foundation because of the ground settling unevenly under it they are far from maintenance free...
In my days too. All houses were on blocks. I live in one now.
So cute love the ceiling nice job
Yes lots of problems with slab foundations where I live
I Loved watching you turn this shed into a beautiful, relaxing home. Regarding people saying homes are not affordable today. Start small, work within your means($$$). Don't try keeping up with the jones’. Ya know what I mean?
You did a very good job at combining "modern feel" and "cabin feel" and in a simplistic manner. Love it.
Love the ceiling fan and the green shower tile. After hearing your calming voice and refined humble narration throughout the video, I got a better idea of who you might be when I saw the musical instruments in your bedroom. You’ve made a nice home for yourself. Happy for you. Have a great life!
VERY NICE HOME.
I'm completely blown away by the result! It looks a lot like what I envision for my futur small house.( At 16 x 50 we can't realy call it a mini or tiny house can we 😉) I ratetly see people with my tipe of eclectic tastes and love for antiquities and musique 😀. Tell me, heated houses usualy have a vapor barior on the exterior befor the siding is instaled. How did you manage to keep moistur from condensation to stay away from your insulation or the walls and seeling? Thank you for sharing your vision with us. It's inspiring 😀😀😀
Watching this, listening to the music you have chosen, knowing the peaceful place you have created for yourself and for your life, I am so calm and so happy for you. Congratulations on living your dream.
Yeah I'm with you I almost fell asleep watching and listening to the music....LOL
I agree. 🥰
Love what you've done with that shed. It's the kind of home I wanted, but at the time, had no one to help me build it. Now, I have no place to put it. So I just have to stay positive and pray for some help. I may end up in a van or truck camper and become a Nomad. You are lucky to have friends. My dearest friends are far away or deceased. I've just moved around so much with my profession, then I got Arthritis and had to quit. Now I'm stuck somewhere I do not want to be. To have the friends like you have and parents with land, you are blessed. I'm sure you know that. Happy for you. Thanks for the tour.
I am in a somewhat similar situation.
I would need help with technical aspects, math has never been a strong point and currently it's not realistic for me to physically tackle such a thing.
It would be interesting to know the other costs involved to determine if i could afford it. The cost of relocating the shed in itself had to be expensive.
I would have to pay for the help required. Friends & family are non existant.
I love the whole layout I would want a place exactly like that nothing changed. Genius I love that. I'm now a fan.❤
Awesome that you edited together a mega video of all the process, from start to finish! What an undertaking. It looks so good. You should be so proud! :D
Thank you Kat! :)

This was by far one of the most relaxing videos. I’ve watched in a very long time. Your choice of meditative, relaxing music was spot on! Well done, young man! The house is fantastic! 🥰🇨🇦
For the past 5 years, I have been watching and saving TH-cam videos on tiny houses. I have one of exactly that model shed and always imagined insulating and sheet rocking it, putting proper windows, and how I would design the interior. I had tears in my eyes watching this video, because it beautifully accumulated all my visions. From the countertop in the bathroom to the ceiling panels, the colors, appliances, the amazing shower. I would add a deck at the bedroom, and create more of a dining space with a long table and a couch to enjoy the glass doors - other than that it’s PERFECT! Thank you 🙏🏼 I knew it could be done :) Now, to find a shed like that in Germany :) God bless. Hope you have many happy memories in your lovely home.
The pocket door idea is an item I think regular homes should integrate. Much more practical and doesn’t take “swinging” space. Especially for bathrooms and closets.
This is one of the best affordable living to me as well as to you this will be next living,, Your video is a great help in the future 😀
What a cozy, beautiful little house. I love how it reflects your personality, and it must be amazing to live in a place so exactly suited to your needs. Great job & thanks for sharing!

Absolutely beautiful home
Beautiful finish. I laughed when I saw the Roomba rolling around on the floor.
The machine used at the positioning on the pad part is called a “ mule”. It’s really an amazing tool. They used one when delivering my shed and the guy was so incredibly skilled with it he got my shed perfectly positioned between two beautiful trees we wanted saved.❤️
I watch a man use a mule to place a mobile home on my neighbors property. It was operated by remote control too! He navigated the home up a narrow driveway with great skill.

I always wondered how they got te homes in position. It was cool watching it.
Well done, Brahda! Wonderful space.🙏🙏🤘🏽🤘🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🙏🤓
$15,000 for the shell was a good deal. I'm not sure that I could site build it for that price. Nice sized cabin. The metal roof is a plus.
Of all the "shed to home" layouts, I love this one with the gambrel roof and bump out front the best. You've done a great job with styling it up!
Such a beautiful masterpiece. I know it took a lot of work and the hands of many talented and gifted people, but you can be very proud of your home. I would love to have such a place!
The way you built the house is so professional that the house can be moved very easily
I can't wait to build one myself. This is my dream home. be mortgage free and focus on stuff I wanna do until I die. thats how life should be.
Color consultant here, paint the outside trim to match the white of your windows and doors. Makes them look more substantial and cohesive to the home. Dark colors absorb heat. Lighten up the outdoor color
I love the way you’ve sectioned the house up. Having the shower room separated from the bathroom is so awesome. And having it right by the bedroom is perfect.
This is a nice balance between what we call regular homes and the tiny home. Not everyone is going to be a completely diy-er living in an off grid house they built with their bare hands. This is a good alternative for people.
Nice and cozy. Great job. Love the old radio!
I absolutely LOVE that you separated the shower! Not only did it look really nice but I always hate having a toilet in the place I am supposed to be getting clean haha
Also nifty if a friend or partner's over, and one person's showering and the other needs to use the toilet. Agree that was a very slick design choice.

Your house is real nice
Ive been a carpenter and contractor for 50 years it took you a long time but Kudos to you
Wow! What you call a shed is bigger and cuter than the first mobile home I bought! It also was 15,000 with no cute porch etc. Great job on all!
What a great shed home. I love the large front room, and the shower room. The use of pocket doors in many places is a great space saver. Might want to look into some window coverings for warmth. Great job. You're so lucky your parents have a big enough property to have you there. A ten minutes walk away!! That's a big property. Enjoy, you've got a beautiful accomplishment under your (contractor) belt. Congratulations 🎉
Nice build over all but I do have to question a few things. The toilet choice makes me think this home doesn't have proper septic to it which in many areas would prevent it from being a legal permanent dwelling. And I also have to question if the ceiling meets proper coding for a permanent housing. Between the two things I have to question if proper permitting was done on it. Next is a minor complaint but is a legitimate one IMO. Your washer/dryer combination unit is going to be near impossible to get out of the space or even do maintenance on due to the L shaped room it is in. You would also have to remove the racks mounted on the walls to even get it out of the space. Assuming of course you can even reach the power and vent duck to disconnect so it can be pulled out.
In my area they build sheds pretty big that cost 7k CAD so if I buy 2 and connect them together I get a big house in no time.
We also have pretty big rural lots for less.so building and living rural is still pretty cheap option.
About legality .in such rural places people fr the municipalities act like family and nothing is so strict .
Last summer went to visit a few properties and everything looked very promising .
I have a house in the woods completely legal connected toward a good municipality and have almost the rural feel life but I also want to buy very rural property with a cabin for firewood
Thank you TH-cam algorithm for finally showing me something really, really nice. What an amazing area for your home! Looks warm and inviting. Really digging the oldschool desk chairs. I do feel the Roomba needs a fox tail or something, just to fit in, you know? :D
Ha, I love that! He might be getting one now :)

I’ve been living on a super budget ever since paying off my cars etc.. I will never go into a car payment or mortgage again if I can avoid it. This home is perfect for a couple or small family to live and enjoy. Far too many people want to emulate “Hollyweird “ and purchase homes that are waaay to large and waste needed space. My family have been living in a nice mid size to large log cabin and we save about $2000 a month on expenses. Excellent home you have here. It was a pleasure watching! 🤠

That's bad choice of music/sound, I sounds like something terrible is going to happen. Also the narrator's tone is grim. It should be happy thing, right?
It's nice, but I wouldn't call it a *tiny* house. The house's footprint is 16 x 50 feet, or 800 square feet, which is larger than many two bedroom apartments, and that square footage isn't even counting the loft space. It's a *small* house, to be sure, but not really tiny. "Tiny" I would consider 400 SF or less, maybe 500 at the most!

... No a lot of thought went into it. There are some glaring omissions here... But, it IS a work in progress, after all. (Perhaps A side deck off the sliding glass door for dining?)
@@rickcoona what's wrong with eating at a desk? It's still a table and chair. I don't think a formal dining table is necessary at all. But they totally have room to put a fold out table in the middle of the room if they wanted it.
Just saying, I rather have space to make the food and stand to eat than no kitchen with a place to eat the food.
Absolutely beautiful! Great job, it's funny I had looked at these about 10 years ago and had the same idea. What I did instead was downsize tremendously into a much smaller home, gained a ton of equity and I'm looking to purchase some land now. I'm going to build a 5 to 700 square foot a frame exactly the way I want it and live peacefully in the woods. Very happy for you!
IMHO 5 square feet is way too small 😊. I'm just playing BTW
