      Aereto If you are a part timer, chances are your paycheck is not going towards bills.... Also, how many hours a week are you working? At $7.25, which is the lowest that you can be paid in the US, an hour that's roughly 40 hours after taxes for $200. So, you only work 10 hours a week?

      For this price you can get a full tower, not a mid tower. That's why It's better to just get the S340/Elite. Bad move from NZXT to try to take advantage of S340 sales by cloning the design, adding a few features, and upping the price by 90-100%

    As much as I love NZXT, $199 is an insane price for a case that isn't much different to the sub-$99 S340 Elite

    • @mikemccanna8548
      @mikemccanna8548 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      All it really looks like they did is try to solve some of the problems the s340 elite has; cooling, rad clearance, hdd cable routing, then slap $200 price tag on it. I like it, I think it looks nice, but the s340 is pretty easy to work around and I dont see enough to justify the price jump. Plus CAM is trash.

    • @Erowens98
      @Erowens98 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where business is concerned, it's always easier to drop price than it is to increase it (less public backlash) So companies tend to have a release price on the high end, if it doesn't sell at that price they will drop it and people will think positively of them for reducing prices. If you launch a product on the lower end of the scale however, and the product sells like hot cakes, increasing the price will just piss people off. This way companies can make maximum profit with maximum PR.

    Okay so it seems a little expensive but it may actually turn out to be a good buy for those who have been interested in buying the S340 Elite with additional NZXT products 🤔
    NZXT S340 Elite = £90
    Replace Fans with higher quality ones X4 = £60
    Grid + V2 Controller = £30
    NZXT Hue LED Extension Kit = £20
    Total = £200
    Same price, new case, all of the above features in one purchase, better air flow, more water-cooling options, better cable management etc
    I'll be buying the NZXT H700i 👏👏👏

    • @avimakkar
      @avimakkar 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      not many mobo have a type c header on them. you need to spend $400+ for a motherboard with that header and moreover i don't find much use of that port. i haven't used the one at back of my motherboard

    • @MBpotato89
      @MBpotato89 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      One example is a high speed flash drive.
      There are several $200 dollar mobos and the point is that you don’t want your high-end case to be overtaken by budget cases in 6-12 months. I had my last case for 6 years.. so even if there weren’t any use TODAY, it would still be unacceptable.

    • @yellowpeaches6040
      @yellowpeaches6040 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    After two months of checking reviews and looking for the perfect case, I discovered this case and ordered it on the day it came out. I was deeply disappointed. No sound dampening whatsoever. Not even rubber mounts for 3.5 drives. Fan software was flaky and any fan adjustment over 0% would rev them to 100%. Upon removing the internal USB3 cable, the non-retractable hooks nearly tore out the USB3 socket on my motherboard. Only with an extra set of hands and two flat screwdrivers were I able to remove it safely. Back to Antec P182 till I find a worthy replacement.

    NZXT by far makes the best cases, so much attention to detail. I just hope they dont go the route of gimmicky "Smart Case" stuff. After all we're PC people, that kinda gimmick doesnt wow us, in fact it could be a turnoff.

      @visitthisprofiletodieinsta9173 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RAIN
      Too much attention to detail yes, too much that this case makes the tubing job significantly harder just because of their "trademark" white cable management thing

    • @Seatux
      @Seatux 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wished they gave some thought on the CAM software too. The latest version of CAM keeps crashing and making my fans spin more than usual. If this case totally hinges on CAM, I can only hope the buyer has enough hair to pull out.

    • @therealJayRoe
      @therealJayRoe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn't disagree more, having just owned this case for a day. It was loud and gimmicky. My old Antec P182 had optical bays, and three-layered side panels for optimal sound dampening. Both serve an actual purpose. This case has LED strips, tempered glass, PSU shroud with special mounts to display your SSD and finally an advanced fan controller which seems pointless in a case that isn't designed for silence, to begin with.

    I can tell you one thing, this case is TERRIBLE to build a system in. I just got this case today, I preordered it a week ago and I will send it back. It is impossible to mount a corsair H115i on top, because the white bracket makes it impossible to not totally squish your tubing. It's a terrible soloution. I'm currently using a Corsair Air 540 and it's MILES better for fitting radiators.
    I don't know what went through the head of designers when placing the bracket into that awkward position. Build quality and looks are really nice, but this issue is a big no go. Maybe a 240mm would fit.

    • @VicBayolo
      @VicBayolo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      t3chn0m0 what about a 360 cooler ? Lol

    • @t3chn0m0
      @t3chn0m0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      360mm might work, but keep in mind, that you have to bend the tubing through that narrow gap between the bracket, so I would still consider this only as a secondary option. I ordered the case because it ticked all my boxes. Even 240/280/360mm on top. When I tried to install the 280mm with the fans, I almost smashed everything in anger ^^. I slit my hands open just to fit it in. Nope...won't fit. With 280mm radiators the tubing goes straight into the white metal bracket. If they widened this bracket for another 15-20cm there wouldn't be a problem at all, except I still wouldn't be able to fit the radiator in, because I have a Maximus VIII Formula which has a massive heatsink from EK. Therefore the fans can't get pass the heatsink...so still no option =/. Atm there is almost no Mid-Tower with tempered glass where you could fit a 280mm on top... I don't know why. Mabye I will buy the Corsair Air 740 now. The 540 is WAY better in terms of cooling and usability then the h700i.

    I swear to god if HardwareCanucks gives this case a "dam good value award" then I will seriously suspect that HardwareCanucks can no longer give an objective review and is highly influenced by their sponsors. This is far from a dam good value its a Rip Off!

    I think NZXT would sell more of these units if they removed the 'smart' functionality and just sold it for a little cheaper (~$120 - $150) as a normal case. The case looks pretty good, but it is very expensive, and anyone who would deliberately put CAM on their PC is either an NZXT employee, not right in the head, or doesn't know what it is doing in the background. It's a hard pass from me.

      DeviceEnforcer What does Cam do that is so bad? (not sarcastic)

    • @DeviceEnforcer
      @DeviceEnforcer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here's my experience with CAM:
      It is very buggy and slow, the actual features that people would need to use CAM for only work around half the time, and when they don't you have to completely restart the system. I only had CAM for a short while to control the LEDs on the Cryorig H7QL before I decided that it was not worth the hassle and returned the product.
      Additionally, the CAM software has been revealed to send personal data to NZXT for undisclosed purposes. NZXT acknowledges that it does so, but has yet to release an update that allows it to be turned off.
      CAM should be a control software for people who need system info or control for their LEDs, but instead it is a massive hinderance and privacy risk that NZXT does nothing to fix.

    I would like to see a case, where you open the side of the case, where the mainboard is located (Right side of the case) and your Mainbord will be unfolded then with the sidepanel together. Easy access mount and quick assembly. And between the sidepanel and the mainboard would be the cablemanagment, what unfolds too. No longer cables needed for this scenario, cause by unfolding the cable have the same distance to the mainboard as before. For better access on the cables, you can disassembly the plate, which holdt the mainboard

    This case is looking lovely! I especially like the indentation for the glass panel, the back panel's quick mounting mechanism, and the near lego like mounting system they have with the SSD tray. The removable fan mounting bracket up top is also very helpful, as anyone who has tried to put a radiator there would affirm. That white shroud, while nice and pretty, does not have enough functionality to justify its odd shape for me. That being said, the case retains its classy NZXT look, which will still be a major selling point for lots of buyers.
    Another thing that goes somewhat unnoticed but I consider pretty impressive, is the fact that they managed to retain rigidity of the case despite the heavy use of meshed metal sheets and removable components. This, compounded with the amount of design features they managed to squeeze in, just makes the case truly "a new standard" (Science Studio).

      I am quite eager to see the review of the ITX version. Many builders, myself included, now realized that they probably only need one PCIE16x lane for graphics card and that's it. If the ITX version retains most of the features of the ATX version and is not much more difficult to build in, meanwhile being offered at a lower price (which I would expect), I think its sales may have the potential to match or even exceed that of the ATX and/or MATX version. Looking forward to the review!

    I'm sorry, but I'm a 100% NZXT fanboy. When I initially saw the H440 I just couldn't resist. After almost 4 years it's still a dope ass case... But now they've outdone themselves, again. They continue to be one of the most innovative, mold-breaking companies out there.

    Just a small criticism on this case. I have the s340 and only have one complaint, the metal cable management divider thing extends into the case on the top of that one preventing doing push/pull on a front mounted radiator on the top as it is, they actually made that worse making it pretrude even more into the case, my hopes were opposite on an update an dhoped they made it flush all the way up so you could actually do push/pull on the front mounted rad which is the only place you can put one at all on the s340 and the intake is lacking due to the solid panel. The new bar looks like it will also prevent any rgb light strips on the top or bottom as it comes all the way out to the edge with 0 space to fit even a light strip.

    Literally all the mods I did to my case from a similar model where made for this one. I’m so frustrated that I bought a case that I had to install extra mounts for the bottom for a hard drive, and get rid of the hard drive cage that it came with. This case is amazing and I wish I could have had it 2 years ago.

    • @Darkaoron

      I also added in a usb 3.0 hub inside the case so I could plug in LED lights inside the case without extra cables being to visible

    I like that you can fit 280 or 360 rads both in the front and top, which is very rare for mid towers. Too bad it doesn't have mesh though. Even if there's decent spacing between the filter and the closed front and top it's still going to choke airflow quite a bit. Aesthetics over temps is a bad thing in my book. Could be a great case with some custom mesh modding I guess.
