Hi Becky. I don’t know how I found you on TH-cam, but you have been such an inspiration to me. I’ve been hospitalized for almost 6 weeks after having emergency bowel surgery and a lot of complications that have followed. I’ve had NG tubes with no food or drink for weeks. You have pretty much been keeping me going these last several weeks! I haven’t grocery shopped or cooked in over 20 years after my first spine surgery because I haven’t been able to stand long enough to do prep work. I also have had a lousy diet the past 17 years after becoming 100% disabled. However, you have inspired me to want to start cooking again and creating a garden for myself. I can’t wait to feel better and get discharged so I can begin planting the seeds I purchased to prepare for my summer garden! I can’t thank you enough as I feel so rejuvenated when I watch you. Granted you are probably 30 years younger than I, but I haven’t looked so forward to cooking and eating what’s good for me in so, so long! I can’t thank you enough.
I have a lot of the same problems you do and I'm probably older than you but what I do because I can't do this standing is I got a stool near my sink or we'll cut things up and I can sit and stand and then in your garden, get yourself a 5 gallon. Bucket to sit on. It helps with the pain.
Fun fact about Aldi and Trader Joe: Aldi was founded by two German brothers who then got in a fight and because of that we have Aldi North and Aldi south in Germany. Now Aldi South opened Aldi in the US und Aldi North opened Trader Joe’s. 😊 But it’s basically all Aldi
Idk if anyone else feels this way.. sometimes I feel silly watching you do the things I hate doing! Grocery shopping and house cleaning! But it’s therapeutic watching you do it lol.
Becky i also love grocery shopping my niece told me she never knew anyone who got excited about grocery shopping. I loved being a homemaker. When my kids were young they helped me grocery shop. My boys were better shoppers than thier wife's, even ironing for their wives. Being raised in a family of 10 you learn a lot. I love your enthusiasm in all you do, if you love whatever you do it's not a job you make life a joy. ALOHA
JUst an FYI...Fennel tea is GREAT for an upset tummy with the littles. It's all I used for my son when he was little and 25 yrs later, we still use it when our stomachs get upset. Ginger is also great but fennel is amazing! A tsp of seed steeped to a medium strength tea in water is fantastic.
I have been taking it for months with no improvement …. But every one is different and Becky a suggestion from me might be NO caffeine after 2 pm … I did that years ago. Glenda

My son is a chef professionally…he just turned me on to Skordo for spices… we are in New England and they’re located in Maine but the do ship. I’m not affiliated with them in any way but think you will love browsing their unique selection. The husband and wife source everything..very global.
Since you have a seed starting setup, you have what you need for winter salads. I grow lettuce and patio tomatoes under my seed starting grow lights. Fresh salad year round!
I grew 15 shishito pepper plants last year. They were very productive, no pests or disease and even drought and heat resistant here in Texas. One in 10 peppers was very spicy and the rest were very mild. I made a salsa with them and it was very mild, but so flavorful. It has become a family favorite. Good luck with your plants.
I paid a fortune to order a couple pounds of them. I tried EVERYTHING to make the big deal with blistered shishitos. Total fail. I don’t get it. I didn’t like them or I did it all wrong. I didn’t even like ONE of the five or six sauces everyone raved about, either. I feel gaslit. 😂😂😂

I love shopping and cooking with you!! Found your channel about 2 months ago and have even gone back to watch some of your older videos. I was so surprised when you posted about your recent trip to North Carolina…wishing I could have met you in person. I’m now also watching a lot of Hollar Homestead. I’m not even close to being a homesteader but I cannot get enough of yours and Hollar Homestead’s videos! You amaze me with everything you do!
Hi from England. I have green fingers when it comes to growing things outside but inside plants was the kiss of death and I could never understand why. My husband is into Bonsai growing big time he has over 200 of them. One of my sons is also into them. It was only watching someone on TH-cam that helped me and she saves the water from when she rinses the rice because it needs to be rinsed twice. She fills to big jars and uses them to water her house plants. I was sceptical at first but I now have a thriving lemon, chili, and coffee plant and others and they all now bare fruit. I do love your channel and we don;t have trader joes and you can only go into Costco if you are lucky enough to have one if your in business which is not fair.
Girl, you and me were on the same search… I was looking for valentines boxes like the ones I had for Christmas… I have done the Christmas boxes the past two years from there (Dollar tree) and I did look for some valentine themed ones. I am taking note of your Amazon find for the white boxes… Great for all year long and just use different types of paper inside for the theme of the holiday! Thank you Becky!!!
Congratulations on a great pantry challenge! When you record this years recipes etc, be sure and make a note about the added roadblock of no water. Cant believe you worked thru that one. Now onto Costco!

Becky next garden season after you dehydrate tomatoes, you should make your own shelf stable sun dried tomatoes in oil. Luke from Migardener has a video on this. i made a bunch of jars of it this last summer and they are amazing..its a water bath canning recipe.
Hope you have a spot picked out for that monstera. Mine was about 30" when I bought it three years ago. It's now over 7' and, apparently, loving an east-facing window.🌞
I went to Costco yesterday (Saturday) for one item. The parking lot was totally full. I had to search for a parking spot. I will definitely shop during the week next time. Crazy busy.

My chickens started laying again back in the beginning of January, which I was surprised. I’ve been getting an average of about 8 to 10 eggs a day right now. I also water glass a couple dozen just in case that’s a fluke. I only have 18 chickens.

Hey Becky! Just a suggestion about the chicken wings…check the size of the wings. The ones I buy from the bulk store are way smaller than the ones I get from the regular grocery store. Chicken wings tend to shrink as they cook. 😊 Love your videos! 🙂
I cook chicken wings in my air fryer; I don’t put anything on them other than salt and pepper. I spray them with oil. They get so crisp! Then we can dip in whatever each of us want.
Becky, pretty sure that plant you got is a Monstera. I'm not sure which one, but you're going to need to support it with a pole or moss pole. Just something to plan for in future

watching you narrate and not get awkward when people walk past in the grocery store is crazy to me lol. Pure confidence. I can't even hold a conversation with a person properly if I think nosy shoppers are listening in.
You should price what you need and see if it’s cheaper to build it your self. They always make greenhouse higher in price than what you can build them for.
Becky, try growing cilantro on a windows sill or in your sun room when it'sto hot to growit outside. I have hot dry summers, and growing it indoors allows me to have it when my tomatoes are ripe. I grow it outdoors the rest of the year.
I saw that you bought a Monstera plant. They are amazing! 💚 With a bit of plant food and enough light, they will grow these leafs with splits in them. But I have to warn you: they grow quite fast and become huge plants. Four years ago, I bought a Monstera about the size you've bought now. I've already had to change the plantpot twice, and they grow air roots that have quite a length. I love my plant, but if I knew it would grow that big, I would have bought another type of plant. I will keep him for now, but in the foreseeable future, I think I will give it to someone with more room for it. Saying hi from the Netherlands. 🤗🇳🇱
As soon as i saw you pick up the wine after saying it was Sunday I had to remind myself that you are not here in the south. Those tulips were absolutely stunning. If dollar tree doesn't have what you need, if you have a dollar general there i would suggest checking there because they carry a lot of the same type items.
Hi Becky, just a little information. My sister planted the black eyed Susan and they just took over her whole yard. She planted them in one flower bed, the next year they came up everywhere.
@Acrehomestead I hope you enjoy the small gift that was delivered to you yesterday. I've loved seeing your videos on being more organized, especially in your growing room. You've been such an inspiration.
For all that fantastic cooking you do ,you HAVE got to have a very good metabolism !!! I can't wait to see the Valentine goodies you mentioned fixing . yum
Hey Becky! Not sure if you have a craft store nearby you, like hobby lobby or Michaels. They usually have alternating sales and/or coupons. I get my bakery boxes from those places if I can’t find any at dollar tree!
Becky good job on sticking to your grocery list. I hate grocery shopping but I do love Trader Joe’s. You are so good at talking yourself out of buying the things you really don’t need, wish I were better at that. We don’t have the nice choice of stores to shop in like you do as we are a little tiny small country town, I envy you there.
FYI Dill loves cooler weather, I let a few plants go to seed and they self seed for the next year. Also the white coneflowers for whatever reason are tough to grow at least for me. I have a about 5 other colors and white ones never do well. I live in Massachusetts which is zone 6
Costco sells fresh wings with the refrigerated meat area called "Party wings" which are the wings broken into segments and the tips removed - not injected with a salt solution. They also sells wings in the frozen area - same breakdown as the fresh but frozen instead but injected with a salt solution. We've gotten the frozen ones - they are huge.
You are very fortunate to have so many loved ones close by to you. I think you have a beautiful house and your husband looks like a nice guy and you’re very talented and smart and energetic but the thing I envy the most is all that family close by. You are a lucky girl on top of all that skill and talent.
Becky, When looking for boxes for cakes or cookies look in the wedding/party section of Walmart or Hobby Lobby. I've found all kinds that were worth while. I lobe shopping as well, when the stores are not so busy. Usually I'll go bright and early.
You should take one or two of you sweet potatoes and put them on their side in the garden as an experiment to see if they will grow. I tried several times to do the toothpick and glass of water thing and it took too long or didn’t work. Another long time homesteader said no need to do all of that. Just direct plant them in the garden. So I got a few organic Japanese ones and tried it. That was three growing seasons ago and they continue to come up year after year.
Chicken wings make a fantastic chicken broth! Just roast them at 400°for an hour until nice and golden. Then turn them into broth with your favorite method. Personally I like to use my 6 quart stove top pressure cooker, but you do you. It makes the best broth ever!
Becky, I have an idea. Why don't you get the plain white ones with the window and then it's not seasonal. You seem to do a lot of these themed give aways quite often, so you will be able to utilize them for virtually anything. You can get some cute themed seasonal stickers, for example valentine ones right now and decorate the boxes with the stickers and some ribbon and you have a beautiful box. Just an idea. Love ya, Jojo from Mississauga ON Canada.
We moved from Vancouver, WA to SW Montana 11 years ago ...I miss the convenience of having all of those stores so close to home. We now drive an hour to the nearest WinCo in Missoula (which is better than the 4 hour drive we used to do twice a year to the closest WinCo located in Spokane Valley!)
“Squirrel. I interrupted myself.” Oh my word, but I do love watching your videos!!! Great grocery shopping haul!!!! Can’t wait to watch you bake all your goodies!!!
I bought an oregano cup at Kroger 3 years ago and planted in a little flower bed by my front door. It is the size of a small shrub today. Same with sage. I grew a cilantro plant that believe it or not came back after last winters surprise freezes. But I noticed that my rosemary and my blackberry bush planted nearby have overtaken the area.
Those wild caught Argentinian shrimp are the only shrimp that I buy now. I usually saute with butter and garlic and put on top of alfredo pasta. Trader Joe's has the shrimp, too!
I love spending time with you, each and every day :) You are such a joy! I wish I lived closer to you than Ontario, Canada. because you would be a great neighbour to have. You inspire me to cook, bake and be organized.
I love grocery shopping and always take a photo of my list BEFORE I leave home! I have a habit of forgetting it! LOL As a vegan, I love Trader Joe’s…so many great options. I also love their produce and herbs there.
Closest Trader Joe’s to me is in Cleveland,OhioBecky once you get your Green house. Also get a shed for the tools, extra chicken feed. This way it’s close for you to get and a safe place for them.
That was fun thanks for sharing 😊 one thing about fennel, it's nice to mix it with sugar lumps as pallet clenser, breath freshner after meals, and I enjoy it grounded and added to coleslaw, a little bit goes along way, adds liquoricey flavor to it 😋
That was really fun to watch Becky! I enjoyed seeing the variety of products in the stores, and especially all the plants and seasonal items that are already in your Costco! Certainly not in ours YET in eastern Ontario, Canada! :) ~~M~~

Thank you for taking me shopping with you. You’re really fun to be with. I love your moments of forgetfulness. It happens to me all the time. Just love you
watching you narrate and not get awkward when people walk past in the grocery store is crazy to me lol.
I keep looking for your finished seed room!!!
Mee too! I really want to see how it turned out
I saw that you bought a Monstera plant.
I buy the crispy onions at the grocery store and I use them for breading on my chicken. It’s delicious.
As soon as i saw you pick up the wine after saying it was Sunday I had to remind myself that you are not here in the south. Those tulips were absolutely stunning. If dollar tree doesn't have what you need, if you have a dollar general there i would suggest checking there because they carry a lot of the same type items.
I never like shop with me videos on TH-cam but I really enjoyed this! Thanks for taking us along Becky!
Bananas in Australia cost $6.50 in big shop and around $3.50 in vegetable shop. I paid $.019c 43 years ago.🌞
Hi Becky, just a little information. My sister planted the black eyed Susan and they just took over her whole yard. She planted them in one flower bed, the next year they came up everywhere.
Hi. You could always put stickers or a themed bow on the bakery boxes!
@Acrehomestead I hope you enjoy the small gift that was delivered to you yesterday. I've loved seeing your videos on being more organized, especially in your growing room. You've been such an inspiration.
I just love homemade Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies. Plus I like cookies on the soft and chewy side
Happy I found your channel!! Its been 50 here all week in Wisconsin ❤ much love to you
For all that fantastic cooking you do ,you HAVE got to have a very good metabolism !!!
Fennel is really good to mix with sausage when making pizza or sausage sandwiches just Incase you end up with extra from your sauce.
We FINALLY got an Aldi in Hattiesburg,Ms. and I love it! HATED having to go to Walmart!!!
Hi! I haven't been yet. I hate the traffic and have had car trouble. I hope to get a new car soon and make it out there ( I live closer to downtown).
Joann’s would probably have the boxes you’re looking for they usually have everything!
When buying plants look underneath the leaf. You're looking for anything moving or patch of white dust. That means it has bugs in it
Have you considered themed muffin papers for your holiday boxes. It helps separate the selections.
Hi Becky. Walmart also sells those bakery boxes, however, not at Amazon "bulk price"
Please read the labels make sure you buy US wild caught shrimp. Shrimp from China is no bueno. I’m so lucky I live in Louisiana & it’s easy access.
Always enjoy shopping along with you and seeing what’s new out there ! 😊
I love my Monstera deliciosa plant! They grow fast, and the more mature they get the leaves start fenetrating, which is fun!
Love watching you get tempted by the seed packets. It's like me - except with shoes. Lol. Love your videos.
Thank You Becky for taking us shopping with you, all my favorite grocery stores😃
Fennel is used in Italian sausage…and you can make a tea with it or chew some before a meal to curb your appetite . Also used in breads
The pantry challenge went by fast. Restocks are always good. Happy New Week! 😊
Hi Becky, we don't have the 3 grocery stores that you went to but we do have an Aldi and Sams Club. Valentines day is my favorite time of year
You should take one or two of you sweet potatoes and put them on their side in the garden as an experiment to see if they will grow. I tried several times to do the toothpick and glass of water thing and it took too long or didn’t work. Another long time homesteader said no need to do all of that. Just direct plant them in the garden. So I got a few organic Japanese ones and tried it. That was three growing seasons ago and they continue to come up year after year.
I know the feeling.! I'm planning on my second year of gardening.! I hope to get more than I did last year.! We are in zone b6
That TJ's Italian Blood Orange soda makes the BEST Mimosas!! 🍾🥂❤️
Blackberry bushes will take over the NEIGHBORHOOD! They’re quite prolific!
Those wild caught Argentinian shrimp are the only shrimp that I buy now. I usually saute with butter and garlic and put on top of alfredo pasta. Trader Joe's has the shrimp, too!
I do enjoy a grocery store video. Thank you for this one!
Ribbon is a fun touch to make it defined as whatever holiday it is!
I grow shishito year-round on my towers. I love to dip them in sourdough disgard and lightly fry them. So delish!!
