I buy the bag of six avocados at Costco. I let them stay on the counter for a few days to ripen. Then I peel and de-seed them all. I mash them like potatoes, then scoop them with a cookie scoop and freeze them. Then I have avocado pucks for whenever I need them. The color stays green and they taste great. I’m ready to make guacamole anytime.

Adeline Zook on TH-cam gave a GREAT tip for fresh eating avocados-take a ripe (or near ripe) avocado and put in a mason jar filled with cold water. Keep in fridge and they last for a month - I’ve tried and it absolutely works! She has a really good channel too.

Becky, my grandparents were dairy farmers and my mom always got whole raw milk from a dairy close to us. She used the cream off the milk in her cooking and coffee all the time. That was one of the reasons she got that milk. She saved on her grocery bill by getting cream off the top of the milk, making her own half and half, and then the milk. She showed us that she got 3 products out of the raw milk. She also made butter as well.

I have tried to do sweet potato slips for a long time. I haven't had any luck . Last spring vi watched many videos. One just planted the sweet potatoes half way in the soil the long way. So I tried that. It never vines out but did grow leaves. I thought it was a failure but when I dug it up underneath was full of small sweet potatoes. It was so surprising.

I love tart cherry. I work at Amazon and often come home with sore muscles and a restless mind after being active all night (I'm a night shifter). I will alternate between tart cherry juice with magnesium, D3 and K2 supplements and valerian root with the same 3 supplements. The cherry and valerian root help me relax and alleviate my sore muscles so well I've been able to stop using OTC pain and anti inflammatory meds that I had been previously using on an almost daily basis.
Also, I know you like making your own salad dressing and usually have that high quality Parmesan cheese. You can use any leftover anchovies to make your own Caesar dressing if you haven't before.
I'm catching up on like 3 months that i was behind on your videos because life just wouldn't stop happening and you have been my binge for the last few days. Seeing you is my ray of sunshine. I sing your praises to anyone who gardens or keeps chickens or meal preps and I always want to say "my friend Becky" because you have been a constant in my life for a few years now. I’ve always grown sweet potatoes by cutting out/off around the eyes on the potato, put the toothpicks in them and put them on a jar fill of water, the toothpicks hold the bits of potatoes, eye side down & when there’s roots coming out of them it’s time to plant them & the new potatoes form along the roots 👍🥔🥔🥔🥔🇦🇺💖🦘🥰💖🇦🇺 (then you don’t waste the sweet potatoes, you can still eat the rest that didn’t have eyes on it.

If you want to try the dirt thing again at some point, don’t bury them. I always do my slips in dirt. I just lay them on the dirt and kind of squish them down a little. Keep them watered, in bright light on a heat mat and they sprout great. I’ve never been able to get the water method to work.

It was really fun and so heartwarming for her to celebrate the beginning of our marriage with us. The TJ's mustards are the best! We always have in hand and several jars of each in the pantry as we go through a LOT! Best use is my husband puts a couple of tablespoons of each in his potato salad and it is Deelish.

I’ve never had an issue with smells permeating my silicone bags - staining from tomato sauce, yes, but never lasting scents 😊

    Hi Becky!
Thank you for the amazing content! I love watching your videos!
The plant you purchased is a Monstera Deliciosa. They are one of my favorites! Want to let you know they grow very large. In optimal conditions, it will only take a few years to be 3-4 feet wide and 4-5 feet tall. They are vining plants so it will need a heavy duty and tall support system. Make sure to only secure the main stem to any supports. Don’t tie up the leaf steams (petioles) as they will move throughout the day. Also, as the plant matures, the leaves will naturally fenestrate (split). They are so gorgeous. When you repot, only choose a pot about 1” diameter larger than the current pot and use a very well-draining soil with tons of orchid bark. You can google ‘Monstera soil mixture’ and get tons of great recommendations. These plants love indirect sunlight but can burn in direct sunlight if not properly acclimated. Your sun room would be a great location once it outgrows the kitchen window.

I usually have a cilantro "tree" in my fridge. If you place the bunch in a glass jar and treat them like fresh flowers. Reince them well and cut the stems nicely, put in water in a jar and put in the fridge, it lasts up to a month. If it’s getting old, change the water and resnip the ends

Thank you for the tip. I don't use it that much, so using it for several days in a row is very highly unlikely. I tried it on my counter a while back due to lack of fridge space; it didn't work, it dried up.

If you are in Leavenworth in the spring during black-eyed Susans, season head out towards the Peshatin which is nearby (it’s just a direction really, i’m not sure that there are any remnants of the town left. )and look at the hills because they are filled with black-eyed Susans in the spring and it’s so pretty . The whole area is already gorgeous in the spring but ir just makes me happy remembering it - I haven’t been there(during black-eyed Susan season) for over a decade. I hope this spring to go back and visit. My favorite auntie and uncle live up there and it’s always fun to see them.
I think your menu and your family tradition planning is wonderful and I hope you have a great time planning and preparing and enjoying the day with your family .

I placed my Sweet Potatoes in a shallow container and covered them between 1/2 & 3/4 of the way with soil. The same day I also placed 3 in a jar of water just as Becky did. One of the jars began to rot and I tossed it out. One of the potatoes in soil dried out quicker than the others and I didn't notice, so it too went bad. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get any slips as weeks were going by, but I did. The Potatoes in the soil began to grow more and more slips. The vines on a few were so long that I cut them off and placed them in water to root out, and they did. Only one potato in the jars eventually grew a single slip weeks after the soil ones. As long as I kept the soil moist and not too wet they grew many slips. By the time I could plant outside I had slips from the Potatoes and the vines I rooted out to have a good harvest. Whenever I harvest them I now save and root out portions of the vines for more slips.
