I buy the bag of six avocados at Costco. I let them stay on the counter for a few days to ripen. Then I peel and de-seed them all. I mash them like potatoes, then scoop them with a cookie scoop and freeze them. Then I have avocado pucks for whenever I need them. The color stays green and they taste great. I’m ready to make guacamole anytime.

Adeline Zook on TH-cam gave a GREAT tip for fresh eating avocados-take a ripe (or near ripe) avocado and put in a mason jar filled with cold water. Keep in fridge and they last for a month - I’ve tried and it absolutely works! She has a really good channel too.

Becky, my grandparents were dairy farmers and my mom always got whole raw milk from a dairy close to us. She used the cream off the milk in her cooking and coffee all the time. That was one of the reasons she got that milk. She saved on her grocery bill by getting cream off the top of the milk, making her own half and half, and then the milk. She showed us that she got 3 products out of the raw milk. She also made butter as well.

I have tried to do sweet potato slips for a long time. I haven't had any luck . Last spring vi watched many videos. One just planted the sweet potatoes half way in the soil the long way. So I tried that. It never vines out but did grow leaves. I thought it was a failure but when I dug it up underneath was full of small sweet potatoes. It was so surprising.

I’ve always grown sweet potatoes by cutting out/off around the eyes on the potato, put the toothpicks in them and put them on a jar fill of water, the toothpicks hold the bits of potatoes, eye side down & when there’s roots coming out of them it’s time to plant them & the new potatoes form along the roots 👍🥔🥔🥔🥔🇦🇺💖🦘🥰💖🇦🇺 (then you don’t waste the sweet potatoes, you can still eat the rest that didn’t have eyes on it.

    Hi Becky!
Thank you for the amazing content! I love watching your videos!
The plant you purchased is a Monstera Deliciosa. They are one of my favorites! Want to let you know they grow very large. In optimal conditions, it will only take a few years to be 3-4 feet wide and 4-5 feet tall. They are vining plants so it will need a heavy duty and tall support system. Make sure to only secure the main stem to any supports. Don’t tie up the leaf steams (petioles) as they will move throughout the day. Also, as the plant matures, the leaves will naturally fenestrate (split). They are so gorgeous. When you repot, only choose a pot about 1” diameter larger than the current pot and use a very well-draining soil with tons of orchid bark. You can google ‘Monstera soil mixture’ and get tons of great recommendations. These plants love indirect sunlight but can burn in direct sunlight if not properly acclimated. Your sun room would be a great location once it outgrows the kitchen window.

Becky, the best way to grow sweet potato slips is by putting the potatoes in shallow soil- it works so fast! I got dozens of slips that way that kept coming for months. You have to try it!!
I put a potato in a shallow dish and filled it with soil until it was half covered. Then just keep it watered and it will start producing slips in no time!

If you want to try the dirt thing again at some point, don’t bury them. I always do my slips in dirt. I just lay them on the dirt and kind of squish them down a little. Keep them watered, in bright light on a heat mat and they sprout great. I’ve never been able to get the water method to work.

I always plant mine in dirt like you do. I place them on a heat mat because they love the heat. I’ve heard that the Japanese sweet potatoes are delicious. I want to try planting some this year if I can find some. Maybe at an Asian Market. But they may not be organic there. I’ll check out Trader Joe’s too.

I love the idea of making Valentine's a family thing! We do that with my 7 year old daughter also, I've already been thinking of what extra fun, special meal we will have also.
We just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and took her to a fancier Chinese resturant with us and we all ordered whatever we wanted to try and share. It was really fun and so heartwarming for her to celebrate the beginning of our marriage with us. I always think there are going to be so many years and times in the future after she is grown where its going to just be me and my husband so I am soaking it up in these younger years especially when it brings her such joy and makes awesome memories.

I love tart cherry. I work at Amazon and often come home with sore muscles and a restless mind after being active all night (I'm a night shifter). I will alternate between tart cherry juice with magnesium, D3 and K2 supplements and valerian root with the same 3 supplements. The cherry and valerian root help me relax and alleviate my sore muscles so well I've been able to stop using OTC pain and anti inflammatory meds that I had been previously using on an almost daily basis.
Also, I know you like making your own salad dressing and usually have that high quality Parmesan cheese. You can use any leftover anchovies to make your own Caesar dressing if you haven't before.
I'm catching up on like 3 months that i was behind on your videos because life just wouldn't stop happening and you have been my binge for the last few days. Seeing you is my ray of sunshine. I sing your praises to anyone who gardens or keeps chickens or meal preps and I always want to say "my friend Becky" because you have been a constant in my life for a few years now. I absolutely adore your family, your dad is such a precious person and I feel comforted just being able to include you in my life

Usually the plastic amazon containers come with the black chalkboard lables and a white chalk pen so you can write what's in them. Mine came with extra labels so i can change them if i change what i store in the containers.

Yesterday we got 12 out of 16 eggs from our hens. Lowest number yet this winter. The shortened days and cooler weather has finally gotten to them. It is 69 degrees here in TX and our Tomatoe plants have grown their 2nd set of leaves so they are almost ready to pot up to the next size before planting outside. I also wrap my ball of lettuce in papertowel then wrap in tin foil and it will last over a month in my fridge.

The TJ's mustards are the best! We always have in hand and several jars of each in the pantry as we go through a LOT! Best use is my husband puts a couple of tablespoons of each in his potato salad and it is Deelish.

Never had luck with snapping lids. The don't last as long but Dollar Tree's large plastic cylinder containers with round lids lasted for years. Unfortunately they don't sell the taller ones anymore but smaller ones are still available.

Hey Becky, just an idea, if you want the napkins to resemble more of a tissue paper effect. Those dollar tree napkins are usually two ply and separate easily. So you could just use the printed ply for a less bulky look. I’m sure the boxes will look great regardless! ☺️

Becky. If you put bay leaves in a salt shaker then put it in your flour it will keep the weavles out of it. I put in my box I keep my pasta rice and my flour. When I lived in 29 palms years ago. I use to keep all my baking stuff in a 5 gallon bucket and I never got any bugs in them
