Honestly, xHP tune doesnt shorten your trans fluid lifetime. If anything it extends it! Most of the fluid degradatio is due to clutch material dedposits. Clutch material gets grinded off your clutch discs while slipping. Clutches are slipping to achieve smooth and comfortable shifts. So when you close your clutches faster, with higher pressure, there is less slippage and less clutch material being deposited in your fluid, therefore prolonging its lifetime.
440i GC B58 2017 owner here with MHD stage 1 98Ron tune (Europe) and I’m running xHP Stage 2 because definitely is better for daily driving and way faster compared to stock from factory… After MHD and xHP Flash I really enjoy my car.. even more than before! i highly recommend to anyone who wants to go with a tune in their B58/ZF.. this is the way to go 100% 👍🏼 best upgrade for the money!
100% !! Awesome to hear. Exactly, running stage 2 for the daily driving feels healthier for the trans in the long run for me anyways lol. Definitely still a major improvement over stock like you said. Thanks for tuning in!
Hello, I just installed a mhd stage 2 on my m240i, but the sport dosplay showes only cca 410hp but not 470hp what it should. I dont have the xhp. Is the xhp the problem?
my 340i had gone 72k miles, and never done a trans fluid change so i got that done with the pan, now in manual mode it downshift as it did before, but the upshift are so slow, takes like 1 1/2 sec for it to shift up... wish i never did the fluid+ change 😮💨 ben driving for around 210km now and still the same, maybe it will adapt by it self after some weeks? or if the gearbox adaption reset from carly works
Hi I was wondering about xHP transmission flash for my bmw. I also have the 8HP in my 2014 x3 35i with n55 engine. However the car is completely stock right now except for an upgraded VRSF charge pipe. I wanted to know if it was completely safe to run the xHP stage 3 time if everything else is stock. PS I know it won’t perform as good and compared to if it it had FBO modifications I just wanted to know if it was safe to run on a stock vehicle. I am just looking for faster shifting in sport plus I just wanted to know if it was safe on stock car
Its safe, however stage 3 is very aggressive. How many miles are on the car? With the trans shifting more aggressive you’re going to want to service the trans oil if your vehicle is higher mileage
I also noticed the car being jerky with the aggressive rev matching, but only in the lower rpm range. When you downshift at mid or high rpm -for example whilst hard braking-, it's smooth. I love it when driving for joy, but don't like it in general use.
Did a stage 3 xhp on my stage 1 140i and it’s really a game changer, but now it seems like when your sending it ( in sport+) and shift early it feels like the gearbox dosen’t appriciate it, is it normal ?
@@skrrtproductions I can but it’s more of a feeling, for example im in full throttle on the 3rd gear, at 4000rpm I pass the 4 and you can really feel the gear change under your feet, really agressive it’s probably normal but it really feels weird like if the gearbox dosen’t like it. Apart from that nothing weird with the rpm’s, nothing weird to actually see but it’s that feeling you get in the car. And it just happens when you full throttle and gear shif early but apart from that everything is good.
I see. Yeah with stage 3 it's pretty aggressive. The shift from 1 to 2 can get pretty jerky but still nothing like a DCT. Most likely a normal thing you're experiencing IMO. Going from stock to stage 3 is pretty drastic. I started with stage 2 for a bit
Yeah maybe should of done that too but I know a lot of people just flashed they’re car to stage 3 straight away si I just did the same lol. Thanks for you’re time man 😁
I am a bit confuse that, did the stage 3 map aggresive in comfort shifting mode? compare with stage 2? or its just aggresive in sport mode? AND stage 2&3 is same in comfort mode.
I’d say in comfort it shifts maybe a tad faster in stage 3. Really not too noticeable coming from stage 2. It’s a lot more aggressive in sport plus with trans in sport/manual
do you have to have anything for stage 3?I have a 2017 340i. I have bm3 with e30 tune, downpipe, resonator delete, intake, charge pipe, but was wondering If i can do stage 3 without any other supporting mods?
Well the 340i is my daily, and i want to see how much power it would put out on e30 without having to result to a tu hpfp and going on e50. I I watched your other video on the dyno, and you got almost 470 whp and 500 toque. How much would you estimate just an stage 2 e30 tune, downpipe, and potentially a stage 3 xhp tune will be. I want to do stage 3 xhp, but not sure if its going to end up still being reliable as stage 2.
Gotcha, well depending on dyno and conditions I would estimate 400-420whp. It’s also hard to gauge the reliability factor of xhp. Logically it would be less reliable (service trans more frequently) as it’s clamping a little harder. It’s worth a try IMO. Just make sure when you go from stage to stage you take it easy for the first 50mi so the trans can adapt
Oh sorry. Which stage 3 are you referring to? BM3 OTS map? You wouldn’t go stage 3. You would just go stage 2 E30 OTS map unless you get a custom tune.
Love my xhp stage 3, but I run manual mode 24/7 been doing that for 3 years now. I rarely use my brakes as I downshift like its a manual car to slow me down plus the sounds are amazing on downshifts. I like to run around 2500 RPM and stay there or above just because it sounds so good. LOL
Sounds like you should just do a manual swap 🤣 but no I totally feel you. The shifts are very fast and it’s always more pleasant to control your own shifts when it’s that aggressive. 1st gear really likes to draw out when shifting auto lol
for the highway kickdown, you went one single gear. I would really like someone to actually show what this tune can do, instead of talking about it to the camera
I started on stage 3 for a while. I kept messing with my settings and my tune to try and get a smoother downshift from 8th. It took an embarrassing amount of time to realize that it was because of the stage 3. Because of that I recommend stage 2 now. Ironically stage 3 was updated in the past because of that problem, but it’s persisted on my car.
Yeah the shifting in those upper gears feels almost too aggressive. When running stage 3 I definitely won’t go past gear 7 and only run in gear 7 on the highway. Stage 2 is the move for daily driving! Agreed! But also, it can take some time for your car to learn the adaptations of the new transmission flash. It can get smoother over time as the cars learns and adapts

Nope has nothing to do with it. It doesn’t matter bc it’s not super accurate anyways
Stage 2 in mhd doesn't even break 400 hp to the wheels

Do it without looking back! Best tune ever for our transmission! 😁🤙
It makes such a difference when paired with a tune! You will enjoy for sure. Thanks!
I agree mhd stage 3 w xHP stage 2 For daily I found stage 3 kick me in the ass when driving slow
Yeahhh a lil too much for the daily. When going to the track I’d switch to stage 3
2 is nice but 3 is amazing, I disagree I think stage three is perfect for everything track and daily driving
It is pretty fun 😬. Yeah I’ll rock stage 3 a little longer, with E50 it’s insane

currently stage 2 bm3 ots and stage 1 xhp does going stage 2 put more strain on transmission? reliability is my biggest issue
Technically yes but I’d go stage 2
Great honest review! I'll probably get a stage 2 vs stage 3 tune for my F30.

Stage 3 is mainly referring to an upgraded turbo. What about upgraded HPFP? If you’re looking for more power I suggest a custom tune

Definitely stage 2 for daily driving. Stage 3 when you want to full send 🤘🏻
That’s the plan. Hopefully a track day soon!
What about reliability of the transmission?
Shouldn’t be much of a concern. Just service the transmission sooner than normal recommendation to be safe. Also, treat it well while driving lol

Stage 2+ multimap with flex fuel kit enabled 🤙🏼
