Just keep making them crazy ass builds and keep the shed-build factor and you'll on a million in NO time!! ...Also would love to see you guys combine a supercharger and turbo!!! 🤩
You aren’t wrong. The brakes on this thing work, but are mad sketchy. I burned them up real bad at the last track day we did with the Ford engine. We still haven’t replaced the pads or rotors. There are plans in motion to address this issue
Yup, can't lie missing that 1 dorito spinning for its life ,but a resurrection build of 3 doritos sound better. Let this datsun rake up some funds for that build.
The speedster is relaxing at my place while we take some much needed r&r from that project. I’m planning on actually doing some work on it in the next week or 2
@@jamescrapeticio2771 It's a super fun car but I'm still surprised that you guys haven't lit it on fire yet from sheer exhaustion from all of the issues
@@BlackTownie999 or even a cummins 4bt or something. doesnt have to be a hp monster in a truck, just torquey enough to tow the datsun. but i do like the idea of a flatbed with air shocks and a c-notched frame.
My worst welds were on a Bedford 4t from the 60s, and were not talking about a truck that had an easy life in a warm dry environment. The steel was paper thin, constantly blowing through. Ended up stitching and repanelling most of the job
Pleased to see your channel getting the recognition it deserves. Awesome to have sponsors on board to make this build the best possible in all areas. Support all the way guys. 👍🏽😎
I am in love with the Datsun. I wouldn't change a thing. Even the chameleon wrap. I just got carpet for mine and I can't believe how much quality carpet costs. Sign of getting old I guess. Glad you folks are getting some recognition for the hard work you do. Thanks for letting us be a part of it.
Considering you'll be running the quick spool valve 2.0, I would send the hx35 over to turbo lab of america and have it machined out to hx40 super territory. 64x76 turbine 62x86x91 extended tip billet compressor wheel.. lower egts lower backpressure at high rpms and it will clean up the coal quite a bit, not to mention you'll gain some power.
THIS is what I've been wanting to see, a complete chassis, proper brakes, proper suspension, proper tuning, clean wiring, no ugly colors, etc. I'm really excited to see a clean, complete car with no cut corners. This is going to be sick. 👍🏻
Okay 3 comments is the limit. First of all, SO CUTE IN YOUR LITTLE MATCHING COVERALLS! Second, the cars looking amazing. Third, the montage is long overdue.
Wouldn’t change a thing. Super excited to see a finished interior! So much hard work and fun content over the years is finally paying off. It’s fire, as always!!!
This project is inspiring as hell! Stoked to see the Z get a carbon hood and some proper wheels thats gonna really set it off.. love the content guys keep it coming! My only idea to take it up a notch in the spicy scale (as if it needs to be more sketchy) would be to AWD swap the current trans and rear end setup somehow using a nissan patrol or jeep trans or other awd trans that can bolt to the om606 A.P. and use a 4x4 front subframe and then do some boosted diesel launches on a Z with all 4 tires spinning itd be absolutely insane at that point honestly.. Like a diesel hoonicorn..
Great job on the new content guys. Love the build. I would have cut the metal in the trans tunnel and brought it in flush with the new piece just avoid the pocket.
My experiences with unibody cars,I've installed through floor fame connectors with an x brace in between. You will definitely feel the suspension work and a lot less body flex especially if you are going with a roll cage. I love the content, quality information with lots of humor. Keep it up.
1 thing i would have done differently is using a 722.6 MB gearbox with a Ole fejer controle unit. you can shift it with a stick/button whatever you use it on, you also get a display with all the data you need on it. very strong and reliable. i've built a few and running 1 on about 1100NM. amazing stuff.
stubled across your channel thanks to the youtube algorithm about 4 datsun videos ago, and i can't say how happy I am about that! really hope this gives you guys a nice kick start! im not really a diesel guy but this is turning me into one!
Great build to be honest. If i would change it would be the fuel injection sistem, most likely would need cnc machine to be able to get it to work from a more modern om6** series and maybe change to a electric pump for economy since prices are getting ridiculous in Europe. Good luck with the project.
This is absolutely an amazing turn around! nothing wrong with the previous build, but damn your guys went from "lets shove this deiseal into a Datsun" to "Let's make a SEMA build with sponsors". Can't wait to see more!
Watched my dad weld a rusted through Harley Davidson Sportster exhaust headers once. He literally managed to bridge like nearly a 1 inch hole while repairing all the little blow outs along the way, I was impressed. Thinking about it now he could have just bought some new headers the tight arse 😅
For the question about what you should do, I would saw re-enforce the subframe because s-13 front and rear subframe have a tendency of twisting and flexing a lot (becouse there made in cheap Nissan metal)
Glad you guys are finally getting the attention you deserve. Love the crazy ideas, and the hard work and dedication behind said ideas. My suggestion for this build would be to choose a classy, perhaps stealthy color for the wrap. The rolling coal from a Z will grab more attention than a flashy wrap
The only thing that I’d have done is a full roll cage (that’s what I did on my 260z JZ). Datsuns when they wreck they become air particles. I love the fact you guys already did an S13 subframe swap! Keep posting more videos!
Hell yeah fellas bout time you got some sponsors this build is going to be better than I thought I am a diesel and rotary man at heart the last two builds are really showcasing your talents keep up the great work
You've definitely turned me on to the OM606, would love to swap one in a Disco or something similar. Props on getting noticed! This channel is one of my favourites, can't wait to see what happens from here.
I would have tig welded the ball into the tower, and made the panel for the trans tunnel removable so you can bolt things easier or just made the serviceability better
crazy that you guys are getting big. kinda miss the vids when it was just you 2 at your house grilling. i been with you guys from under 10k subs. nothing but up from here 👍
Honestly guys I'm not that into diesels and stuff but this build is pretty freaking dope cause that car is fast as hell with that engine damn keep it up guys
Congratulations on the sponsors. Immediately thought of this project when i saw the video of the Quick Spool Valve V2 from DieselPumpUK. Worse metal i've welded is lawnmower frames
congrats on the sponsors, but don't let that ever change you guys. Honestly the Datsun build is ok, maybe some have mentioned about the brakes or roll cage and stuff, but maybe also get a proper tune when its done. Apparently Diesel tuning is not as easy as what people might think
We really need to get the aftermarket in on these engines. We need forged or billet rods, custom camshafts, lightweight cranks, billet blocks, billet heads, upgraded fasteners, stroker kits, etc.
I know you did a great job sealing the panels you rebuilt/replaced. But when looking from underneath and the engine bay. All of the random holes should be filled/sealed. to keep out smoke, water or even fire. Keep up the great work, I am happy too see the channel take off.
You guys are killing it on this. Not saying you guys didn't have good progress before but this episode was kick ass! Can't wait to see it come together

You can tell you are getting popular when you start editing out the swearing... :) Well done guys. Happy to have been here from very early on.

I liked the old style of vids but this is on point. I'm not one of those that need a bunch of fluff or flash. Hit em up sponsors we like the content.
A Datsun pickup as a “sister” vehicle would be extremely cool

I can tell you one thing the 12 point cage in my buddy's 71 240 made it a stiff little beast but those reenforcements are gr8 also

smart to lock up the intake cam and the crank pulley, if that hasn`t been done yet. Great build!

Worst I've welded is dust extraction piping for a sawmill. It's paper thin, and galvanized, so you either blow through or get no penetration.
When I’m welding shit metal like that I use a tig rod on the seam to take up some of the heat of the weld
