Got a new custom exhaust, got cocky and tried to have some fun on a round about ended up loosing it when I forgot to shift into the next gear, engine braking made it squirrely and I smacked a curb. Thankfully The damage was just rear passenger rim, tie rod, and trailing arm. I ended up rebuilding the entire suspension with m3 control arms and bilstein coilovers though.
Sad day... that driver mod might have help but you got this! You can fix it you have the skills! When I seen the icon I was this of that TikTok, 'well boys I sent her a little to hard'

I feel your pain, I let a now ex drive my spotless 72 Ford Escort 2 door, she hit an embankment standing the car on it's nose then on to it's roof, me personally was sitting in traffic chatting the hotty in the BMW next to me when the traffic started then stopped, I didn't stop and hit the BMW in front of me in my Ford Falcon GT, what can I say she was the one who started chatting and she was stacked, totally my fault HAHAHA! At least you guys have a way forward to make the Z even better than she already was

Stupidest thing I’ve ever done a a vehicle was jump a hill at 75 mph everyday on my home from school in my stock 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee. Full send. Full on Dukes of Hazard for no reason other than it was incredibly fun. But I could have totaled that thing or even killed myself more times than I can even count.
Make friends with someone with a frame jacks. That's all stuff that can be pulled out without even taking it apart. Not even a day with chain jacks. Less than a G even if you straight pay for it.
Don't build cars beyond your driving abilities, this is a good reminder for everyone that you can possibly hurt yourself with power beyond your own abilities,
That’s good advice. However, it wasn’t the power that caused this. The new LSD behaves differently than the old locker it used to have. Combine that with a poor choice of location and this is the result. Let me add to your statement: Always test a new build and new equipment in an open and safe location, not on a dead end street surrounded by boulders.

Hell yea fellas, repair and re run! From one z guy to another tho. That frame rail did punch in the firewall some... Your alignment is gunna be buggered. Unfortunately it's probably a full on cut the rail tube and replace deal. Depends on your desired finish
you know what you could do for the future. tube frame the front. this way if it ever happens again you just chop what is messed up and fix it. would be really nice and you can fit it for the suspension you want
Hey brother you mentioned a sequential shifter on an H pattern transmission I immediately searched for them and all I could find was the Bremmer and you cannot find a place to buy it if you know of a shifter that can be purchased but will sequentially shift an H pattern transmission could you share the information with me and if it works out for me I was going to buy a set of your sunglasses anyhow but now I will buy an expensive pair

Just get it on a chassis bench and pull the frame straight. Not a big deal and not expensive. And on the bright side the running gear is intact. Oh yeah take a fiberglass mold from the fenders and bumper once you get a new one. Then you can just make a new one.

One I love that tubular 911 bumper screw the haters on that one....and my Z was bashed off 4 parked cars back in 75’ when the original owner was driving his girlfriend home two hours late and I swear he uttered the same words as look at it as a silver lining and he rebuilt it with parts from bob sharp racing since we are in Connecticut where the Datsun racing heritage all started...build the Phoenix better than ever!

I feel ya pain, boys: I once drove a 1988 Merkur XR4Ti backwards-to-sideways into the rear bumper of a 1984 Ford LTD. LTD bumper was only a bit askew, XR4Ti was totalled. Had a full suspension kit ready to go for it too, which I sold for a loss. If I'd installed that kit it would likely have prevented the accident: that car was a handful with worn shocks, sway bar mounts & hard, old tires.
Ok this really sucks for you guy's. Truth be told I have had the same issue in the past. One of the ways I used to get the car square again was: Find 2 or 3 big trees and strap the car down to 1 or 2 and then on the 3rd tree you strap the section of the car that you want to straighten up and use the strap to pull it into position. I know it's a bit ghetto but it works. In body shops they kind of do the same but with nice polls and not trees. We got to love nature. The rock made the tree fixed it. Pease and good luck.

Dumbest thing I ever done - right after I bought my new-to-me 06 VW Jetta GLI, I got rear ended. Car was in the shop for a month and a week. I got it back on a Wednesday, that Friday I dozed off behind the wheel and smacked a road sign! Back to the shop it went… another month and a half later, I got the car back. First accident was 12,000 courtesy of the guy that hit me and 2nd accident was 10,000 courtesy of my stupidity! 😩. But learned my lesson, never drive when fatigued, pull over and take a nap!!

Dumbest incident I've had was in my EG Civic going down a spiral on ramp onto the highway. Turns out there was superchilled rain that evening, and it was slippery even though I couldn't see it, or really feel it until I lost traction. I spun across both highway lanes at maybe 30mph tops and crushed the same corner you hit on the Z. Took out bits of the bumper, mauled my headlight, bent my hood slightly. Luckily this was late in the evening, so absolutely no traffic on the highway, or it could have gotten too interesting for my liking. Always be driving with appropriate tires, people, they might just save your ass, and/or your car!
This is the first time ive seen a project car that I saw getting build on youtube getting potentially totaled. I must say that I am very dissapointed and I cant say im very positive about the future of the car. But I still wish you guys the best.

I barely made it through the intersection, slid off the road and hopped the curb. I broke the front right wheel but luckily nothing else thankfully. Sorry about your Datsun dude.

Ive learned that.....the best thing to do is have fun at a track. take it to an autox and just send it there. if you slide out, you hit a cone and not a boulder. then you get a great feel of what the car will do in a situation or whether it feels unexpected or whatever. honestly, this was just immaturity. pathetic.
Breaks my heart. did the same thing to my 69 2 door 510. Was out testing the new breaks, and put it in a ditch. A year ago this Aug. I feel your pain. Actually looking for a new body. Go full tube chassis. The entire car.
That is a shame, i was really enjoying y'all building a "dialed" car. glad it is fixable. i support AC and comfortable seating position. C4 suspension should be interesting, too. not sure if you need a bigger turbo, maybe just improve it a little? power seems not a problem this car has....
This is the main reason I see drifting as a stupid hobby. aka a very risky and expensive hobby. Way too financially risky for my income level. Looking forward to what you end up doing with the 240Z. Then let's cut down on the stupid stuff. lol

Sorry to hear you crashed...but at least it's not trashed and you walked away (that's the most important thing). Can't wait to see what you do with the corvette suspension. When i got my Camaro, i had shit tires on the back and didn't respect the car...long story short, i did a 270 on a two lane black top with traffic coming both ways. Managed to stay on the road, but damn I'm pretty sure i shit myself.
Man that sucks. I subbed ages ago with the intention of going through back catalogue and watching the build. I was playing in a mud puddle in my turbo Colt and missed 2nd and destroyed my synchros. $3500 for a wreck to get a new trans.
That's unfortunate, but on the bright side it could have been much much worse. The hood is 100% repairable with some twill and resin. I'd hack the front end off and go tube chassis. Upper a-arms and a set of coilovers instead of the stance boy bags would be ideal.
I can't wait for the next chapter for this car. Dumbest thing I did in a car, was reverse drag racing a friend in my mazdaspeed 3 and crashing into a brick mailbox at almost 45 mph. Nearly totaling my car. The worst part, I forgot my insurance payment that month, and had to pay everything out of pocket.

When i got my Camaro, i had shit tires on the back and didn't respect the car...long story short, i did a 270 on a two lane black top with traffic coming both ways. Managed to stay on the road, but damn I'm pretty sure i shit myself.
Man that sucks.
I subbed ages ago with the intention of going through back catalogue and watching the build.
I was playing in a mud puddle in my turbo Colt and missed 2nd and destroyed my synchros. $3500 for a wreck to get a new trans.
That's unfortunate, but on the bright side it could have been much much worse. The hood is 100% repairable with some twill and resin. I'd hack the front end off and go tube chassis. Upper a-arms and a set of coilovers instead of the stance boy bags would be ideal.
I can't wait for the next chapter for this car. Dumbest thing I did in a car, was reverse drag racing a friend in my mazdaspeed 3 and crashing into a brick mailbox at almost 45 mph. Nearly totaling my car. The worst part, I forgot my insurance payment that month, and had to pay everything out of pocket.
