Whole Band: aight imma head out
They be like “aight imma ignore “
A# 😰
This comment is absolutely brilliant LOL
@@andrewpennell7920 when does "aight imma..." equal brilliance. Cavemen sound more sophisticated.
you thought that shit was funny?
When you can actually hear the flutes and they aren't drowned out by the strings.
Rip after :/
InkBlackShadow except there’s no strings
There's no strings in this particular arrangement. In surprised they're not drowned out by the brass.
Strings? What band has strings other than jazz?
TackyFlamingo 8528 particularly a mass band ensemble or some professional orchestra have woodwind and brass instruments added
Pray for the flutes y’all
Amen girl 😂😂
trumpet
I think we’re all going through it together
Just pray for everyone
Amen 🙏🙏🙏
No amount of words can describe how much this piece gives chills
Real
I get chills every single time at the part measure 70
Duh because it’s the POLAR express…
Shoutout to 1st Trumpets, May the high E soar to the heavens
😥
The e is gonna be the death of me
@@ethanstevenson8173 what helped me is playing ungodly loud in a locker room and just going for it haha. Use good air my friend.
@@benson3955 thanks for the advice 😂
Pray for the clarinets too
As a sophomore in high school, who is playing first Clarinet for this song right now, I thank you for your prayers. I need them. Desperately.
I’m in seventh grade and we are playing this and I need prayers too😂
My director made us sight read today at tempo it was. Scary to say the least.
As a freshman 1st chair clarinet in high school thank you for the prayers
spvcekitt im also a sophomore in hs that plays clarinet and when i saw this piece i really wanted to play it but once i heard the clarinets i was like nahhh nvm
I WANT TO PLAY THIS SO BADLY!!! TUBA SOUNDS SO GOOOOOOD!!!!!
only in the polar express part :/
Clorox Bleach this whole thing is polar express
The magic Pillow lmao no i mean the actual polar express song which is the 2nd one in this arr
Clorox Bleach lol ok
@@cruz.c wait... It's you again... Why are you talking about tubas, I play the tuba. The tubas are good though btw.
It’s basically our bands tradition to play this every year in our top band, takes a little bit for the first years of the band to learn but it’s so fun and always gives me chills.
Any tips for Flutes? lol
@@faultyrainbow4325 pray lmaoo
@faultyrainbow4325 Breathe lol. Also fast fingers 😂
it would be fun if someone made a marching drill to this
French HornHomie We actually used this in our marching show this year
That's actually amazing
@Organic Gaming & Charles ey same and this is real fun
This man has the only good idea in the band section of TH-cam
NO STOP DON'T GIVE OUR BAND DIRECTORS ANY IDEAS PLEASE!!!!
I'm so mad at my director now because we should be play this
trinity mchellen my director is the same way at our high school it's a tradition to play the polar express but ever since she came here she won't let us play it. This year she is letting one of the middl school bands play it and everyone is mad
My director teased us with this. He was like, "hey kids, sight read this". And we never played it again.
Well, with frequent key/tempo/style changes, lyrical and technical sections, it actually makes for a really good sight reading piece
@@multiinfinite0-0 My band sightread the entire thing today with no issues...
At full tempo I might add.
#prayforeveryinstrument
we learned this today. concert tomorrow. pray for us. pray for my lips. they are numb.
how did it go?
1 day learning? how was it??
Who ever played first trumpet they squeaked the high D at the end
Logan Hutchinson where?
I'm pretty sure this was made on a computer. If it was recorded then it would sound so much more choppy. Especially when they got loud.
Hitler The Stripper it’s not, you can here the piccolo go out of tune and the uneven vibrato.
At least they can get to a high D lol
Yo I played 1st Trumpet in this today and I almost overdosed on dopamine
5:13 I might be brass but I love hearing those 1st Flute high note runs.
i appreciate u
those aren't even just 1st flutes, but the best part is they're the easiest runs in the whole piece
one of the most memorable snare parts I ever played. How could I forget being the polar express in the song polar express from the suite from the movie polar express?
Our flutes are doing incredible on this piece! It made me cry today when we were playing it. I play percussion and im on the hi hat during the polar express part
The beginning is my favorite.
Ohh yess the flute oboe and bassoon 2:30 ♥︎♥︎♥︎
(I think that’s what I’m hearing lol)
I hear the bassoon too
This movie has a special place in my heart and I am very glad I was able to play this piece in my school wind band.
I grow up watching the movie
It is my tradition with my band to play this every year. As a band director, every single time I hear this piece, it almost brings tears to my eyes because of how beautiful this song was orchestrated
Played this song in a concert 2 separate times and like I think the BASS CLARINET'S are under rated.
They always are!!!!!!!! I play Bass Clarinet, and I can totally attest to that! They underestimate us hahaha
@@michaelkemenes6496
Yes! I totally agree! I am a bass clarinet too!
As a bassoonist and euphonium player, I love bc, when I’m playing bassoon I sit next to bass clarinet, they sound so good you guys Rock
Its been years but I love this song on the bass clarinet
yeas I play bassoon and alto sax and my next instrument I hope to pick up is the bass clarinet because it sounds so cool
Flutes are almost always heard in concert season, I'm so happy
Very good arrangement! Playing it on our christmas concert this year :)
my band is playing this tomorrow
I played alto clarinet on this one. Props to the arranger for using the alto clarinet in such a relatively recent piece.
Nothing of this can beat our jazz ensemble absolutely SMASHING Hot Chocolate. YES
I remember playing this back in 9th Grade Concert Band. That was my Band Teachers (an alumni from the school) first year teaching. We only had 27 musicals in 9th Grade Concert Band that year. I was one of only four trumpets. I remember playing the second trumpet part. And now I’m going to graduate school to become a music teacher.
Awesome job man
@@b4nks179 Thanks
We tried to play this in our winter concert last year and couldn’t get it together in time so we’re just trying it again this year, lmao. It’s sounding much better the second time around, and it’s soooo much fun to play. I was heartbroken when it got cut last year so I’m glad I could convince our director to give it another shot!
We played this at my school, but I didn’t get to play because right as I went up on stage my Bari sax stopped working- that’s what I get for using school owned instruments :,)
The pain. This happened to me during Marching band instead tho. I was no longer able to play low B flat or Low A because my Bari Decided to get a random leak. (I ended up fixing it but now when I let go of the E flat key, the pad doesn’t open completely but It’s as good as it’s gonna get)
as a bari player thats finna play this tmr in my town's band,i fet physical pain but i very much relate to having a bari do this to me ;-;,happened during a solo on my sophmore which was last yr 🙃
Give prayers to the flutes 😭
I played this piece years ago and it’s still my favorite. Really hard but so beautiful! Bassoon player✨
First piece I’ve played in a hot minute that has a real bassoon part
i remember we played this around christmas when i was a freshman and i loved it. (even though i was last chair flute and still didn’t know what i was doing after 4 years. 6th grade to 9th) this will always be my favorite.
I remember playing synth/piano on this lmao the beginning was fun
This oboe part is wild
UHG THE MEMORIES
Pray for clarinets lmao, high notes are HARD TO MOVE AROUND WITH SMALL FINGERS
They really aren't hard😂
LiStEn BoY I have tiny fingers so they don’t cover the holes all they way😂
@@ciaracynthia i have tiny fingers too but it still works for me😂
Us flutes have high notes and when we dont point our mouths high enough we squeak so...
@@valerier3673 we squeak whenever we do something "wrong" all the time, so there's really no point in your comment...
Playing this song this year its a lot of fun
My fav Christmas arrangement and my trumpets
Our trumpets are dying to hit that last note.
we’re playing this at our christmas band concert and i’m playing the piano part!!
My band is playing this for our winter concert and I'm pretty excited
ah i love this piece, we had to play it this year and every time i hear it i want to cry because it sounds so pretty
This would be a cool song to play my senior year
We played this about 5 years ago. We should be due to play it again. Not this year, but hopefully soon.
No way a piece in G major I would’ve never thought I’d see the day
Right? It's the first piece I've played in G major.
Euphonium is usually not fun and you barely get any good parts. This piece is so fun to play that I got excited every time doing the runs around the end. So sick!
Check out Rapture by Brian Balmages and Arabian Dances by Brian Balmages.
Our symphony band played this last year at the holiday concert! I was so excited to hear this from them!
I remember last year, High School wind ensemble...we played this, and it turned out amazing! Well, for a High School-level first wind ensemble.
When percussion isn’t blasting and you can hear the rest perfectly as well as the flutes who are always quiet
Never forget playing this last year it's so nice to listen to and play I kind of miss it tbh
This song is so fun to play!! Ever since I found the soundtrack of The Polar Express (I haven't watched it btw), I fell in love with it, it just gave me lots of nostalgias, idk why, but the music is so GOOD.
You should, its one of my favorites
I love this piece
I'm a flute...this song is absolute hell...ive only been playing for 2.5 years, its practically impossible on some parts😅
oh lordy, I've been at it for six years and I STILL struggle
I've been playing for 1.5 years and I'm trying to learn this 😢 my 7th grade band isn't playing it tho.
wind ensemble is playing this for our band’s upcoming Christmas concert and in im the band below them, symphonic winds, and im so jealous i wanna play this so bad. They always sound so pretty when i hear them practicing. 😭
we're going to play it this Christmas !
Nichaphat Nink Yee same:')
Same
Such an amazing piece of music 🎊
so, I have to listen to this so I know the piece for practice( I play clarinet), gonna be interesting to see how this pairs with Quake 3
Playing this. It is extraordinarily difficult. But also fun
My band just had to play this and my fingers were moving as fast as they possibly could on my clarinet when we got to the fast part. So many accidentals 😭
we played this last year and i get vietnam flashbacks anytime i hear the first note of this pieve
LETS GO BAND they're amazing
Trombone 1! Trombonists finally get some recognition!
Fr man. That G on the 16th notes are a pain in the butt...
This is so majestic :O
Beautiful
Any french horns?
Heck yeah
3rd tbn is life
0:58 this melody style is so common in some of my favorite pieces. Space ship earth, Mr Magoriumns Magic Emporium,
My community band played this arrangement a few years ago. I'm pretty sure I played the tenor sax part then. We're playing it again this year, and I'm playing oboe part this time. I always loved this arrangement! I always get excited when we get to play it.
Very “exciting, invigorating” trombone part, but I still love it.
I can hear and feel those trumpets struggling with the high D at particular points in the song. That hits me where it hurts bro.
Beautiful!!
I played this it sounds amazing!
As a 2nd flute playing this, I'm dead 💀
I played clarinet on this once!
Holy crap the memories

Horn ❤️
We’re playing this at our concert next week
My family: you did so go I love the songs
Me: I’m not talking my lips are numb
i love this so much
Shivers in trumpet
This is Christmas for me.
I want to play this badly!!!! Alto sax part is sooooo good
Never gets old
Thank you so much for this I have the Cd of when my sister in her band did this but I wanted a version on the phone
High D and High E am I right fellow First Trumpets?
Sigma Waffle ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
😏
High D’s and High C’s not high E’s though
@@christiansaldivar8678 There's a High E in there.
Sigma Waffle 🤪🎺🤙🏼
Yayyy I got 1st trumpet in this
Trumpets so grand at the middlish end piece
i play flute in band and today we had a concert highschool played this and flutes have there own solo as long with claranet
2:30 best part no 🧢
My director changed the fast 16th notes in the main theme to trills on the first note of each group so make it easier
All the other percussionists took the best parts so I just get to play the tambourine and triangle. Wonderful...
I know this is a 2 year old comment, but hell yes dude, all the nice parts were taken so I settled for piano since I've been playing it for years and they needed a pianist lmao
My band is playing this for our Christmas concert. It’s very difficult for me, a freshman
Brooke Himes It’s difficult for anyone. One of the hardest I’ve played, but I think it’s fun. You’ll get it eventually. And when you do, you’ll enjoy it. I play the 1st alto sax part, and I like when Christmas comes to town best.
Same situation. Freshmen trombone playing this lol
Freshmen first euphonium playing this... This is an intense transition from easy AF middle school music
Same actually, my tiny fingers and chops can’t survive the runs at 35-43
Haha I have to play the whole percussion two part because there isn't enough percussionists and it's one of the hardest things I've done XD
I'm 3rd trombone and omg I just got this today
Are you in the Branson band?
@@bellasewell0 no I'm in ferris Honor band
Trombone squad! First trombone
You know it
I play trombone too
I better be doing concert band in 9th grade because if so we better play this
Love the oboe part
Even though my next step to being an 8th grade student next year, I really want to give this piece a try
Playing picc on this, wish me luck
I played 3rd chair in symphonic band been playing for almost 4 years
