This is fun for just about ANYONE who isn’t percussion. Seriously, there was more than 20 spots that could’ve used any of the 3 percussion parts. I almost feel that the guy writing the percussion part had no idea what he was doing. Because that snare roll at the beginning goes 3, 4, 1, 2 &. It ends on the & of 2. That is kind of just plain stupid. Also, please send prayers to my poor friend who played the mallets on this song, and died of boredom.

IDK if the rest of the high winds would say the same thing. All of them have the same figure with slight variation from 186 onwards until the *sfz* at 214 leading to the rall into O Come All Ye Faithful. I mean, the piccolo or piccolos, all four clarinet parts, and oboes have this ostinato.

We're playing this in December. Unfortunately, I got assigned a trumpet part, which means lots of sitting out while the people with cornet parts play a lot.
