Do you think a 4x4 Boldt (dually) can handle beach camping?
Unable to find any info online.

@@palmalongo7683 Going to depend on the beach and current conditions. Look at any other vehicles on the beach to give you an idea. Would not want to be the first one out on the beach and get stuck.

What?!?! A Class B?!?! I never thought I'd see it!!!
    Likes:
    1) Huge awning
    2) I love the roof with the rack, and it looks like room for another solar panel up front (if needed)
    3) All electric. I love it. One less tank to worry about.
    4) Huge lithium battery bank plus the huge inverter.
    5) Front passenger swivel with table. That's where I could eat and use the laptop all the time, and not worry about keeping the bed made in the back.
    6) The 81" long bed! I can't get a bed that long in a 40 foot diesel pusher, but I can in a van? 👍
    7) Good sized rear bath with access from the outside (easy exterior shower)
    Dislikes:
    1) Way too expensive. I get part of the reason why, but even the sale price is way too high.
    2) Would prefer AWD
    3) Take out the smaller bed and put in a larger fridge and more storage / counter space, and I (as a solo traveler) could camp in this for weeks. However, that small fridge is a no go for me. I'd run out of meat and veggies in 3 days.

Thanks, do more class B reviews! Finally I'm seeing the styling and features I've seen with European models. My preference is the smallest vehicle that meets primary needs. The ability to park any where is a major plus. I want to visit as many national parks and sites around the country as we can. Anything that makes that easier is what I want. Also, we have dogs and the ability to run A/C with no motor going while we are out seeing the sights (again, our ONLY purpose for having RV) is a major plus. Fuel prices and ecological concerns make smaller vehicles our way to go.

    Suggestions:
    1. Needs a deeper sink
    2. Bed needs to be parallel
    OR a Murphy Bed
    3. Larger frig i.e. Dometic
    4. More counter space
    5. Outside Mirrors with ability to have movable positions from inside rig
    6. Lagun table arm on a larger table

If I HAD to have a class B for off grid, this would be it. Love that little bathroom (awesome for class B), nice kitchen (except for small fridge with door opening the wrong way!), good storage. But one dedicated bed is enough. I'd use the long couch space for other purposes. Yes, I'd like to see Class B reviews! Thanks for the great video!

Matt and Andrea have done a great job changing our minds about class B. Never saw the value until their reviews this week. Class B is different, but when I really thought about I realized I would probably use it far more often than an A. This model has a high price but the features, function and quality make that price reasonable. Perfect for that long trip in total comfort and class.

Matt & Andrea You guys did a great job!!!
    ...Confirming...batteries/tanks under the beds?
Lastly, do they not have the froli system under mattresses? If so that is the 2nd BEST thing!!!!
    😍💗 1. QUIET AC on SOLAR!✅ ... but for how long!??!?!?! 2. Bathroom! 👑 3. Bells and whistles (B&W) are STANDARD 👀👏🏽
🤨😬😭😱 1. Beds are like a parallelogram vs sided by side not a fan (this is their biggest flaw and don't get me started on the different lengths and finding sheets that will fit!!! ...Lose the storage/closet at the end of van, push the bed back add a counter at the entrance of van instead and make the kitchen counter smaller so both mattresses are the SAME SIZE!!! 🤯) 3. Windows on the door are sliders... not good in the rain! Prefer the awning style windows. (Experience the difference than we can talk!) Lastly Andrea pointed it out the induction... better if it could be mobile... like Matt said the vans are for living on the outside... as well as doing the cooking! If the cabinet would be to left of entrance of van you only would need a flip top table and a plug... Voilà cooking outdoors! Aka show off your bells and whistles (B&W) and solar!!
All in all, Not worth the 200K price tag even with all the B&W!
**Winnebago listen to your fans we all want one if... read the reasons above

Thank you Matt for reviewing a Class B. I love the idea of a “B” but as you point out in the video, there are trade offs. Two additional pluses of a “B” is maneuverability, some neighborhoods do not allow you to park an RV, but as you pointed out....they can be “stealth” RVs. They can also function as a “travel” van. Some people like to travel from point A to B, with maybe a stop in between, then stay in a hotel or with family when they arrive. Also, some National Parks have length restrictions to enter. Good Job! Love your videos and Andrea is an excellent partner.

Matt & Andrea, "absolutely love" the channel. Winnebago ... as somebody seriously considering this RV, I wanted to give you some feedback. First, the BOLDT is awesome, it looks great, the Mercedes chassis is the best available with outstanding safety features and good mileage, we are particularly drawn to the VOLTA power system, it is a very modern approach and we love it, but we could not pull the trigger on the BOLDT, here is why. Bathroom + Refrigerator. We want to travel with our son, so we want the awesome forward facing third seat with shoulder belt, so the 70BL floorplan is for us, but the fridge is so very tiny, not enough for 3 people to travel. Second is the bathroom, its so tiny on this layout and really unusable. I know, I know, its a class B, but the Travato, your own class B with a VOLTA system, has a nice bathroom and a good size fridge. how can those be bigger on a smaller chassis ? If you can change the BOLDT to be a bit more like the Travato 59GL, you would have a real winner on your hands. Last request, somehow find a place, someplace, somewhere on the outside of the BOLDT to hide and store the "stinky slinky" as Matt calls it. Nobody wants to bring that into their $200K home on wheels, especially one as nice as the BOLDT. Overall great job on this product, but we can't buy it until the layout issues outlined above are fixed.

    • @sfadick
      @sfadick 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The Boldt does have stinky slinky storage located around the middle of the chassis

Thanks for the Class B review guys!
    Three things I liked:
    1. The finish inside is very nice, especially the cabinets
    2. The kitchen is really set up well for the size of the camper, really like the induction cooktop & microwave/convection combination.
    3. The electrical setup with the lithium batteries & solar panels. Expensive, but could likely boondock for extended periods.
    Three things I don't like:
    1. The layout: put the bunks even and closer to the back door, maybe a rear lounge or dinette converting to a double bed, or maybe a Murphy bed, plus some garage space if possible underneath. Use a smaller bath module closer to the door across from the galley. I've seen some that put the galley by the sliding door with outside access for cooking out, then the bath across from that. I don't see how the sleeping position works for either camper
    2. It's really long, so parking is going to be a hassle in town.
    3. It's expensive. For the money, you could get a really nice class C or, for less money, a B+ with more space. I know it can carry two, but it could only be for short trips. One person could probably get by in that small space, but for two, I think it's too tight.
I don't see this as a viable solution for full time camping.

    3-Wet Bath
    Things I don’t like
    1-No Garage space in back
2-The bed is ducky. Doesn’t work for two people to sleep or if need to get up during the night to go to bathroom.
3-Need a table between beds for dining or work area.

    What I like:
    1. It's a Mercedes class B (all the bells and whistles of a MB)
    2. The wet bath
    3. Built-in solar panels (although not enough)
    4. The cabinetry styling
    5. Location of kitchen by sliding door
    6. Built-in lit awning
    What could be better:
    1. WHITE upholstery (not practical)
    2. Two long benches that fold into bed... wasted space, Murphy bed more efficient
    3. Not enough storage

I do not like wet baths. I think a sofa recliner with cupholders as well a simple single bed and a dedicated shower would be better.

My 3’s (and first comment ever on your vids even though I’ve been binging on them).
Likes: 1. All the windows! 2. Swivel captain chairs. 3. Stealthy and I can help my husband drive it. Bonus likes: Cabinetry & lighting & cool magnetic screen door & decent sized wet bath.
Dislikes: 1. Fridge is too small 2. Awkward bed layout so I can’t sleep by my husband. 3. No other lounge spot for our two dogs when we’re sleeping.
More reviews, please, both B’s and could you also review bumper pulls?!?!?! We’re in the market for a trailer. Absolutely love you both!

Thanks for doing a Class B review. As a single person, this could have been a great solution. But, in my amateur opinion too much sacrifice for too much money. Not for the retired person.

I love class b’s and would like to see more. I like the mechanical & electrical features, cockpit, magnetic door screen, and size of the bathroom. That being said the interior design of the unit leaves a lot to be desired if they are promoting it for full time use. The weird “double” bed is useless for sleeping 2. The fridge needs to be bigger and needs to have 2 induction cook tops, I would promote the van for solo travelers and get rid of the small couch to put in more cabinets, make the kitchen counter top & longer by removing the drivers table (this way you would have more space for another induction cooker). Last but not least I would offer a boon-docking option of a cassette toilet thus freeing up valuable space for more freshwater carrying capacity.

Last comment from me , I promise lol. After watching to the end I have to say that as nice as it is I am with y'all on the couches/bed. I have seen it done so much better in lots of other class B vans and it's actually disappointing. Even if I had the money to buy one of these ( which I don't lol) I couldn't choose this one because of the couches even though everything else is perfect to me, especially the off grid abilities.

Matt and Andrea, Love you guys and was thrilled you're starting to do Class B Reviews.
4 things I liked; 1. Twin beds that are couches during the day and create a second seating area. 2. Super boondockable and stealth. 3) Windows and doors that really connect you to the outside. 4) Towing capacity
Things I don't like; 1) Price - but actually not out of line with comparative coaches I guess 2) ? 3)?
This B is top of my list with a little more research to go.
    Thanks

Another nicely done Vlog. Very informative, good camera work, (and nice assistant! 😉) lots of energy (need some decaf maybe? lol!), I like seeing B and B+ RV'S reviews. The only thing I would add to the Vlogs is maybe mentioning if there are optional things that you can add or upgrade or if the package only comes with the equipment that's installed. I know you only asked for 3 likes and dislikes, but I think I've got a caffeine rush going so.....🙃😀 here goes!
    Likes:
1: Cabinets and the low gloss finish so they don't reflect bright sunlight as bad.
2: Magnetic bug screen, but needs it on rear doors as well for when you want large airflow.
    3: Sink size
    4: Pretty quite A/C motor
    5: Front bumper step
6: Screen size and backup camera with guide lines that move with steering. **Would be nice to have a 2nd screen either above the radio on the dash or up at the top of the windscreen where the rearview mirror goes which is connected to a 2nd camera mounted higher up on the van that is always on when driving to act as a widescreen rearview mirror. That would let you see traffic, watch the trailer you are towing, and be able to see back past your trailer while backing up to help keep you from hitting anything!
    Dislikes:
1: Permanently extended running board. Use a powerfold
2: Kitchenette location. Placement at front of van makes beds offset, and no flip up or pull out counter extension.
3: Driver seat takes too much work to move. No 2nd location of power seat controls behind seat to make it easier to adjust for table without having to contort to reach the buttons on door. (and power seats always move so slowly forwards and back in all cars anyway so it takes too long to move that seat after everytime you spin it around) "SOLUTION" - Either a fully manual seat, or a seat that has power back/seat tilt/height/lumbar but a manual sliding adjustment to make moving it for the table faster, or have a power seat BUT ALSO A SPLIT 2 PIECE SEAT MOUNT! (Made one of these myself by welding a power and manual seat base together!) Bottom of seat base is a manual slider like a regular non powered seat with an unlocking lever release, but only has 2 positions, 1st is backed up away from the steering wheel when facing forward, 2nd is moved all the way up to the steering wheel when turned around. No stopping points in between. Then on top of that short bottom base it has a second seat track that is the power slider for adjusting to a "perfect" comfortable position when driving. Then you also won't have to constantly find your driving position after spinning the seat around or have to press a memory position button and wait for the seat to slowly relocate.
4: ABSOLUTELY HATE Mercedes voice control radio command function!!!! (In ALL their cars) Either get rid of it all together or have it stop always listening for a "key word" to respond. Just have it ONLY respond to a command after pressing a steering wheel button so it's not coming on when it hears "Mercedes" or a word slightly similar to it. It either comes on when you don't want it to, or it won't come on when you do!!
5: Ladder. Bottom rung is up too high. Add 1 or 2 more rungs so that we don't split our pants raising our leg up so high, and for people that can't lift them that high won't have to carry a step stool around or have to use the bumper as a boost up to it, and it's much safer climbing down without a little jump down especially when in slippery ground conditions!
6: Raised solar panels make wind noise going down the road. Can't hear it in this video but have heard it from being in one of these vans.
7: Lane control assist. Annoying when trying to pass a car or look around a car before passing. If people can't pay attention to the road, have poor depth perception and can't tell how close the the sides of the road they are, or are too sleepy to stay between the lines then they have no business being behind the wheel of a car anyway.

I think this was the best class b review I've seen. Most are done with short presenters and they talk it up about how roomy it is. You gave a real life honest review. I appreciate that. Hey you guys! This class B is pretty amazing! We looked at a Class B from another brand at an RV show in Texas last summer.....it was pretty bad, and the cost was way more than this Winnebago! This one in your review is super nice! I like the classy look of the interior and exterior, the twin beds, and the swivel seats. Maybe not so keen on the shower, but for a Class B it's pretty amazing! I love your reviews! Thanks and God bless!

Get rid of the beds on both sides and install 2 fold down chairs with a wall Murphy bed that comes down on top on them which might allow you extra space to install a one piece shower or make the bathroom bigger. This could be achieved with outer flair out wall panels of 5-6" on each side for a wider interior, then you got my interest.

George Burns and Gracie Allen!! Seriously, the Class B is the best for running around and having fun. You wrestle those 30"+ Class A's ( and some Class C's) around town and areas you really want to be in, and your begin to see the advantage of the Class B. You really can hide it practically anywhere and still have all the comforts of home.

@@jlarm3 , indeed. I saw another couple who normally travel in a C and they rented a B for a Florida trip. Over and over and over he was delighted at being able to take a normal parking spot and with the ease of getting in and out of campsites. It was pretty funny.

Matt!! I’ve been watching almost a year and this is my first comment! Love you guys! I got my mom hooked on your channel and we both watch together! I agree with you about class b’s! Too tiny! BUT I was soooo impressed with this Winnebago I had to comment! If I could full time in a class B I’d pick this one! Love the cabinets. I agree with Andrea about the induction stove cooktop. I was not sure at first about a wet bath in the back and bed in middle but if you are solo I think it would work great! If any one in the future wants my opinion on a class B, it would be this one! That screen door was the bomb!
Btw, you both are so amusing! Especially in this video with the knick nack paddy wack 😂 and the Mercedes talking back to you! Keep it up guys!! 👍
