Love your reviews Matt , but as a former Thor Tranquility owner, I can honestly say the workmanship and quality is garbage. The lithium system will power the A/C for about 2 1/2 hours at best. Cabinets are playhouse quality. Bug screens are a joke. Zero storage, and enough water to take a spit bath three times. Nothing personal , but Thor sucks.
You can see the lack of quality in the walk through, the cabinets, the faucets, the cushions, the seats, etc..I can only imagine how long it would hold up with continual use.
I'm impressed with the size of that bed considering how small the van is. I also like the size of the fridge. I would figure out a way to get rid of that table in the back and install a Lagun table instead. Also I'd much rather have an induction cooktop. I wish I had the money available right now, because I'd jump all over that special price.
Matt made a good point about "no living room". When those front seats swivel, I expect there to be a pop up table for a quick bite to share, or for potential office space. I'm a little worried for the electrical components at the back door being potentially exposed to water, especially with a water outlet right next to it. I'm not sure how to feel about the RR. With everything this vehicle offers I would consider it compared to the winnebago Travato GL. I wish Winnebago Made a travato GL on the ford chasis.
Definitely not. American B vans are overpriced and the bathrooms are terrible. They need to take notes from European models.

You definitely nailed the class b market. Can find much better custom builds for cheaper than factory. Figured factory would improve with the competition in this section. Probably due to amount of people still buying these.

I prefer my 2022 Thor Rize 18M.... Got it with wifi, bike rack, Awing and black alloys for 79k.... Virginia show model at RecVan.....

That is a much more appropriate price for one of these things. When it's time for me to buy I'll definitely wait for a show. That seems to be the best way to get a good deal 😁

@@BrittMFH It's awesome. Even better after I put full synthetic mobile 1, Lucas fuel stabilizer, and a K&N air filter. This chassis gets 24 mpg on freeways. Can't be beat...

There are YT videos showing the TERRIBLE build/QC on these brand-new Sanctuarys....missing screws and too-short screws causing the upper cabinets to come loose and FALL. People were pushing against other add-ons showing how they weren't secured. Even if they didn't break off, imagine ALL of the individual pieces squeaking and coming loose as your Transit moves in earthquakes, mile after mile. THOR isn't alone in the crappy quality of their builds, but WE consumers shouldn't be plunking down hard-earned money for these embarrassingly "finished" units and then have to wait forever to get just some of the problems fixed. We are willing to pay a lot for GOOD quality....so build them that way!

i own another class b with couch/bed... 90% of the time we never change it because its a pain in the ass. stationary beds are way better
General Rv In Virginia is the worst dealership. Buy elsewhere even if the price is higher. You’ll be glad you did.

Yeah you can get something like a Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS for $100k which to me seems a LOT better deal. I guess not everyone wants to drive around in a bus sized RV though 😁

This bathroom in the Sanctuary is awful. Look at how good the bathrooms are in the Pleasure-Way Plateau, Ontour 2.2, and the previous Lexor... Full vanity and a full area to stand and take a shower with a porcelain toilet.
The best class B van??? Come on Matt not even close, Feel like I just got click baited with the title of this video. Surprised you titled this video as you have especially after your European tour. An AWD vehicle is very different to a 4x4 vehicle.

I own a 2023 Sanctuary 19PT that I purchased last December 2022...
This is my 4th RV in the past 2 years - the only way I known what works for me is driving one for 6+ months...
So far I have driven it on a daily basis for about 2,000 miles...
It is the BEST and SAFEST riding/driving of my other 3 RVs...
Yes, I did get one from General RV at a FAIR competitive price...
There are some MINOR Thor manufacturing issues, nothing that won't get resolved in my next service appointment...
The only change I will make is to add a SPARE TIRE - just in case of a flat...
Since I have 3 previous RVs to compare to and I have traveled 3+ MILLION miles over the past 30 years - THOR You have my stamp of approval for a 19PT....🤩🤩🤩

What did you drive and what made you switch
Not a huge b van fan but this one is not bad. Price wise it's not much more than a new luxury full size suv. With this van you can spend a night or two in it while traveling instead of a hotel. Best thing is not needing public restrooms, especially since they can be difficult to find out in the boonies. With frig and microwave we are good to go for most meals, no eating out. You've definitely got us thinking about a different option.
I agree ! My only complaint on this van is the placement of the micro: I am same as Matt short. I DONT want to reach and spill a hot soup on myself.
Why not make the kitchen faucet detachable so you can hose off outside....

Weird mix of lithium batteries and propane. I'd rather go full hog one or the other.
get rid of the stove top / move the sink over/ reduce the shower to just a toilet for emergency use only. MAYBE that'll make the driver seat usable.
The driver seat really sucks. who the hell can drive for 10+ hours sitting straight up like that? I love these point A to to B vans but for the price I'd rather get a longer one
There's nothing new about this layout. Having a bulky cabinet behind the driver seat is terrible. Cannot even recline the driver seat... Sorry. Lol not a prime layout position 👍🏼
I almost spit my drink out when Matt said what's under the hood. And she was like the engine.
Also I drive a Ford van for work . They are great handling and driving. I also tow a trailer with a lift occasionally. I'm guessing about 2000 lbs ?

Had a Thor once - never again. Poorly built, and don’t maintain their value as well as other rvs. Service is terrible and the quality of everything is poor!
How can the bathroom not be dislike #1. It's too small, to start with, then to waste space w/a cabinet and sink is absurd. You might be able to keep the door open to use the toilet, but not to shower. There is no room to shower.
I agree, the bathroom is a joke ! His knees would not have allowed the doors to be shut..IF Becky had set on the commode her knees would have been half way into the aisle.
Hi everyone. Hi Becky. You are right, that van moves. 310-hp and 400 lb-ft and 10 speeds make this an awesome driving machine. Ford has this tweaked out with great tech. What I love about these vans is how versatile they are. My oldest daughter is in competitive marching band, and we took a van down to a competition at Lucas Oil Stadium. After the morning performance, it made a great place to go hang out for a few hours, make lunch, and hang out and relax until the evening performance. Unlike a traditional generator, the 460 AH lithium system is a great, quiet option for hanging out in parking lots. We appreciate all your comments and feedback. - Steve from TMC

The lithium system is great, if it works. took deliver on Aug 17 of the 2023 model. It was back at the dealer the next day because the cassette toilet and the water pump was not working properly. Not to mention that the unit did not come with the proper fixtures for the sliding door screen. General RV (GR) did not notice that the built-in attachments for the screen were missing from the sliding door panel until the day that I picked it up. They promised to have the replacement panel in a few weeks. Nope- they just got the correct door panel in yesterday. RE: the Lithium system- the wiring on our unit was not connected properly so our battery was not charging. GR had to fix all of the wiring for the lithium battery system. The rv has spent more time at GR than in our driveway or the road. Were it not for the great service mgr at GR, we would have taken the unit back for a refund. If you are going to buy an RV- do the pre-delivery inspection in a quiet area, make sure that the tech goes over ALL of the components and make sure to look under the compartments where the connections are made, especially the battery area. And most importantly- make sure that the pre-delivery tech KNOWS about the RV. Ours did not. Don't expect any assistance from Thor Motor's tech team. They are rude and they don't follow up at all.

I really don’t understand who likes these floor plans. Legit the worst, most limited floor plan of any class B option.
Wow! With all of the great storage in this van, where would you store all of your bedding when you inconveniently have to make and unmake the bed every day☹️
Wow 3.5 ltr petrol engine too big for Europe and the cost of fuel here is sooooooo expensive. I think the euro vans (B class) are better designed. But all engines are diesel, slowly pushing for all electric for 2035

Maybe because the cost of those is so much higher? Frankly, a review of Grech or Airstream does nothing for me.
GRV does carry Grech but not Airstream. Maybe we will see a Grech one at some point.
Amazes me that there is NO LOCK ON WHERE TO WATER IS. For this amt of money, a nice, safe water supply is something I would expect. 🙁

Hey Matt. We are starting to look at B’s. Don’t likes… bathroom, low tow capacity and bed set up would be cumbersome once your loaded up for travel. Likes: CCC, Ford platform and solar. Matt which class B’s get your PPPP rating? Key issue for us. Thanks!
Hey Scott! Not very many have the PPPP Rating LOL! Check out the Winnebago Travato 59G. Also Entegra has a new B on the transit chassis.
Do not buy this RV- poor quality and workmanship. Thor's customer service is the worst.

I agree. The American RVs have a long way to go. And I’m tired of hearing I shouldn’t expect a rig to be 100% what I want. And yet they have no problem asking $130,00 plus for the sub-aspirational product.
I am sorry, I must correct Becky. AWD is missing a low range gear that enables a vehicle equipped with true 4 x 4 to go through much more difficult terrain. AWD once again is missing a low range gearing. 4 x 4's are typically rear wheel driven until the front is activated with 4 wheel drive high or low. AWD typically splits traction 50/50 between the front and rear wheel wheels or some vehicles have part-time AWD and only activates to having 4 wheels driven when it automatically can sense tires slipping or the operator activates AWD at their desire.
Correct. But this Ford AWD is rear biased and will split up to 50 to front but typically is more rear focused.
Low range is missing but not sure it’s missed. It’s a van still not a wrangler.
Agree...didn’t really hit the difference between 4x4 and AWD.
@@gary0358 she did. At least the main thing. Currently Sprinters that are 4x4 need to be turned on to enable 4x4. Note it’s only 30 percent power to front and it’s not a closed center differential so it’s really not impressive. (Next year MB Sprinters switch to AWD and it’s a good system). The Transit AWD system is always available and engaged (no switch) and has clutch packs to lock the center differential to a degree.
I wouldn’t expect Becky nor any RV review to get that technical.
Honestly the Ford system is much much better. But for me I’m happy with my 4x4 Sprinter due to the ground clearance.

Hi Becky! Love the Ford Transit chassis but still have concerns re Thor QC. Please mention to Thor that it needs a flush mount stove with a glass cover. Great price though.

How hard is it to put in a lagoon table? I want a slightly longer version for a longer bath. Not a fan of the propane. I am worried about the room behind the driver seat. I like the price! B vans rarely have a medicine cabinet. Love AWD!

I inquired about this but in the 19LT version with the rear fixed bed and underbed storage (garage). Unfortunately, although Thor has announced them, they are generally unavailable. This design has two serious issues: 1. B Vans are meant to provide security inside (in comparison to a truck camper, for example, where you have to go outside.) This isn't secure with that seat which won't swivel without opening the door. 2. I understand that there is no spare tire. I would NEVER purchase any vehicle that does not have a spare tire.
Why wouldn't you just keep the driver's seat in driving position? Safety complete. 👍

Hi There in the Tranquility 19 pt with the lithium package...can i use a Honda 2,200 Inverter generator to run the Coach while been off the grid... remember no shore power just the Honda 2,200 generator...
I agree with all of the likes and dislikes. (Especially that fact, as Becky noted, that it's on a Ford Transit with an EcoBoost V6 engine). I would only add one more dislike, the fact that the screen for the sliding door is a curtain that has to be installed and taken down rather than a sliding screen door. Otherwise this is probably my favorite B van of all. and I've seen a LOT of them.
Cut the pole of the table a few inches if you want the table lower
Not the nicest class B but with the lithium at that cost, it may be the best value. Compare that to a 59KL.
Why don’t you see the Chevrolet Express Van, or any GM product for that matter, used to manufacture class b RVs? Does anybody know?

That bathroom is a joke. If Matt, who looks to be around 5’4”, doesn’t fit, how is this even useable? Does the toilet at least swivel?
Yah!!! they finally mounted the awning in the right location for the Transit..... Too many still mount on top where they stick out.
$157K for this and Winnebago wants $155K for a bare bones Adventure model.
I don’t get having propane on a lithium b van. Part of the point of lithium is to not have to deal with propane.
I think it extends the battery charge. And heat is better with propane. Not sure but that might be the reason.

Why is there a sewer hose compartment for a cassette toilet. It is not needed. And far from the best class b. Nice but not the best

Hi Matt and Becky! This is a great Class B for the price. My dislikes are the bike rack the passenger door has be open to make the turn around. And the dining table work table too tall but it’s doable. My likes are the Ford transit. It’s tall ceiling and it has a nice refrigerator. Thank you Matt and Becky!

📝One note on the table height. As most owners will put a 2" or 3" mattress topper on the bed. that high table will actually be perfect height

No no no. People DO live in class B vans, Matt. I might not be one of those, but I might need to stay a number of months in it in Florida. And this is a nice one for doing that.
The bathroom is horrible.
So the bottom line is, the best thing about this is the chassis…. Most other manufacturers are now also using Ford and use the same floor plan. The price is right relative to competitors, but Thor has a reputation for poor build quality.
