    1) It has a 180 degree crank, not 270, which is why a lot of people complain about the exhaust. 2) Apart from the sticker removal, which I did almost immediately on mine, the only upgrade you should consider is the suspension.
    The main reason everyone says it's boring is because it's so easy to ride relatively fast on the road. The ergonomic riding position, low center of gravity & meaty engine make it easy to get off the line & attack corners at speed. I've done 95,000+km on my '06 model & have never come across a bike that I can't keep up with in the twisties on a Sunday ride.

      What suspension would you suggest?

      I 100% agree! I have the same engine and the low end torque is INSANE!! the fact is most people don't know, or can't handle the torque. They complain that is too sensitive or has a jumpy throttle... but I love it!

    • @jerodwolford2743
      @jerodwolford2743 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@askaryanpulse5755that's because they are. It's a side effect of them running so lean. The throttle jerking you around has nothing to do with torque. Now, when you wack the throttle in 1st gear at about 5k-6k rpm and you lift the front wheel off the ground in 1st and 2nd, that's torque.

    I never understand when people say the Ninja is boring. I mean, the bike is far more capable than most of the capability of the owners to get from is. Sure, it sounds like a sewing machine from beside it, but the induction noise when riding is decent. Has decent pick up speed, easy enough to fling into corners, it's just a solid bike.
    The things I have done to mine are simple things we can all do.
    Puig levers, changed the rider's footpegs, the wind screen, better tires, heated grips (Canadian rider need into November and December) and looking at lever guards. That is something I didn't think about until recently when someone almost cut into me and came within maybe a foot or less of contacting the brake lever. I swerved easy enough but it made me think about the "what if". If contact was made with the front brake, I'd have a bad day.
    But at the end of the day, the changes are mostly cosmetic to personalize. The day I feel I can get more out of the bike than it has, I will get a different bike. As it is, most of us would struggle to get the 400 to its limits, never mind the 650.

      @@Mihalyofficial Don't take my word for it, I don't own it, but I've heard multiple people say stock tires are bad. In any case, I would change the tires to THE BEST I can find on market.
      No use of risking it.

    • @tommy605
      @tommy605 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mihalyofficial I found the rubber footpegs not grippy enough for any sort of sporty riding or if it was raining. They were just slippy to me.
      The tires were fine, not great but OK. I got a slow leak in the front, so I decided to change both. The Road 5's are awesome tires. Better dry and wet than the stock, but not enough that I would have changed them without having to.
      There's nothing really wrong with any of the stock parts, except the rubber pegs. I did not like those at all.

    There are all kinds of people who like these. I've had 9 other motorcycles ranging from 125cc's up to 117 ci so it's not just a bike people want to move up from or try to get something more exciting from. More and more manufacturers are going to a bike with comfortable ergo's and a naked bike like stance. If you want a new middle weight motorcycle that has supersport looks but standard or naked bike ergo's there is the Aprilia Tuono 660, Honda CBR650R, or Ninja 650

    Feel like you’re talking down on it a bit too much but to each their own.
    One question, when you were talking about opening up the throttle. Is this the reason that when I max out my 650 it doesn’t even reach redline? And Would tuning it allow me to go a bit faster/have more power?

      The apologetics are the "boring" aspect.
      Anyone who decided on a particular bike and cc class, should never be apologetic about it. That's embarrassing.
      This is what separates a motorcycle lover from a self-conscious, insecure Kardashian fashion statement.
      Fact is, marketers push the idea of "stepping stones" toward higher displacement, as a gateway drug. In reality, bigger bikes that aren't 400cc, 650cc, 300cc etc. can't give you the same ride/experience (and vice/versa).

    • @BryantintheMidfield
      @BryantintheMidfield  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree exhaust doesn’t do much but the flash is important for throttle response. I just feel like a good exhaust sound helps make it more fun and makes you feel more involved! I didn’t mention suspension because IMO this bike isn’t worth spending tons of money to dial in or setup for the track. I do agree it’s cheaper to upgrade what you have rather than buying a whole new bike though!

    • @tommy605
      @tommy605 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What kind of riding do you do? Commute or go to the twisty roads to have fun? I commute and I am often riding in wet, so Michelin Road 5's (road 6 now available and better) are on there now now and they're awesome for that and do pretty well in twisty roads for weekend fun. If your main use is fun twisty rides, Rosso IV would be the one's I'd go with.
      I have the 2017 Ninja 650 and the Michelin's have been on for about 17k km. Front tire will need to be replaced in another 2 or 3k but rear is still pretty decent tread life left.
      Both the Rosso and Roads are a bit expensive, but they're damn good and worth it. Just the Rosso's won't last as long.
      Hope that helps.
