any suggestions on mounting where 1. use of as few fittings as possible 2. lines/filters set up for ease of partial disassembly to remove filters for cleaning??
Ethanol overtime will ruin the end caps and upon removal to clean you will have to buy a new filter cuz it will fall apart. Just happened to me 2 years solid e85
Yes check your filters!....I just swapped out my stock tank for a fuel cell and decided to check my filters while I had it apart and the pre-filter was full of trash and gel, post filter was in better shape but I replaced both elements.
Thank you for all the tech tip videos... i love them!! Im gettin a new filter now!! I got a question.... any way you can do a video of battery in trunk? Wire routing, switches, circuit breakers, etc I know i ran my power wire inside car (street car), but i heard some tracks dont like that, they want power wire under car..... so i wanna re do it right soon Thanks for all the killer videos!!!
Watching this because my tune would lean out in boost and would drop fuel to less than 20psi. Changed fuel pump just to find the issue stayed . My dwf70 clogged it’s 10mic element and it also collapsed which I believe is due to the pressure being high pre filter. It also caused high amp draw that caused hot relay and connectors.
Another great video! I'm confused on what post filter I will need... E85=12341? Also, do you sell the fuel shut off valve? Will the 12332 filter with valve work with E85?
Depending what pump you have will dictate if you can go to a smaller filter setup. With a 5gpm pump with e85 we suggest the 12302 PRefilter and 12339 post filter
about to install all my stuff.. was hoping someone replied.....to previous post oh well... BTW- why the heck are you replacing cleanable metal mesh fuel filters?? That was this kind is for
Using a Deatchwerks stainless steel 10 micron filter led to my #7 Fic Injector sticking open with debris and it Hydrolocked my e85 900wheel Boss Roadrunner motor which led to a rebuild. Fic injectors claims the #7 injector failed cause somehow microscopic rubber and stainless steel lodged into my injector and caused it to stick open which caused misfire and eventually Hydrolocked motor with #7 cylinder being full of fuel. I am assuming fic is telling me the truth. I called Injector Dynamics and they found from their testing of filter mediums that 10 micron stainless steel is garbage and has zero filtration at 30 microns. Injector Dynamics was having customers calling about severe decreased flow in their injectors, so they testes the steel 10 micron filter and found out it had ZERO filtration at 30 microns even though it claimed it was 10 microns. So injector Dynamics only recommends you use a 10-12 micron microglass fuel filter post pump only and if you use stainless steel 10 micron you are risking your engine. Unfortunately for me i had worst csse scenario and debris must of got by my deatchwerks 10 micron stainless steel filter and lodged in #7 injector leading to engine misfire and Hydrolock. But my other 7 injectors were fine..I run all teflon lines and change fuel filter frequently so all my bases were covered on e85..Fic was trying to tell me the debris must of came from somewhere post filter, but i ain't buying that and either injector failed internally or debris got by the Deatchworks 10 micron stainless steel filter. I run a microglass 10 micron fuel filter in my other car a fuel injected 438windsor 68 mustang on e85 and never any injector problems in 5 years on e85..Do what injector Dynamics recommends and only run 10 micron microglass filter post pump. If you have been running e85 and a stainless steel filter 10 micron and never had a problem then you are lucky as fck and its only a matter of time before your injector clogs with debris and sticks open Hydrolocking your engine like me. You have been warned...lol
You are on borrowed time if you are using a metal post pump filter at 10 microns. Injector Dynamics said steel 10 micron post pump filters are garbage and from their testing had zero filtration at 30 microns. Microglass 10 micron is the best.
@@horsepoweraddict7199 You are not supposed to clean microglass. You have been lucky, but for me its not worth risking another motor for rebuild so i only run new microglass 10 micron every 6 months. $50 isnt worth risking my engine.

Literally just ordered a new post pump filter to get rid of my ghetto paper style filter thanks Doug
I bet VGG has some good tech tips for Tuesdays

Nice info like the shut off valve . Can you do tech tip Tuesday for battery disconnect switch?
🤔 better review my filter system. Gotta love the tech tips!
What fuel shut off are you using? Do you sell it on your website?
Just ordered both my fuel filters from Weldon. Thank you for the tech tip reminder.
Great info thanks for sharing
Just got my car finished in February, and haven’t thought once about changing the fuel filters. Thanks for the reminder!
Great Episode! Would like to see one on proper fuel cell/gas tank venting.

hay Doug the commodore Ute would make a great Drag week car 👌👍
Doug you have a job as a catcher behind home plate if the aftermarket racing industry crashes.

Do you sell the shut-off valve you have coming off your tank?
Great content thanks for sharing
What brand is the check/shutoff valve, got a link
Yes, thanks for the info...great vids, great car , and love those rear rotors...first time seeing em
Another great video my friend. Thanks. Keep it coming 😎🏁🇨🇦

Cut off valves are simple. Even ebay ones are good. I have acouple and it all works good
Nice work Doug
TTT Tuesday is here !
Just sent a question to the number.
You ever try fitech fuel filter?
about to install all my stuff.. was hoping someone replied.....to previous post oh well...
BTW- why the heck are you replacing cleanable metal mesh fuel filters?? That was this kind is for
@@coachgeo microglass is not cleanable mesh. 10 micron filters are microglass, it’s a fiberglass like material that traps particulate
@@MotionRaceworksOfficial ahhh... ok. didn't realize it was micro glass.. makes sense in that case.
Replace filters or clean with ultrasonic cleaner?
Um, Is the spring eye bolt for your rear slider missing???

Flip flops add 10hp ftw
Wheel HP? Or engine HP.... just curious
Wish I could afford 200 dollar fuel filters lol.
Curious why are you say the 10 micron cannot be cleaned? I have been cleaning mine with brake parts cleaner for years nope no problems whatsoever
To sell more filters lol. 100micron before ext fuel pump, and 10 micron after right?
