    Thanks for the inspiration RJ, after i started watching motovlogs (especially yours) i went from no license to full license in 3 months. Riding is fucking amazing, and it's given me something to live for. Screw being stuck in a tin can on your way to your concrete cage, now i'll have fun at least twice a day come rain or sunshine.

      I beg to differ. The bike looks weird to me. Like it can't decide whether it should be a naked or sport bike. Look at those fairings, I mean, it's shouldn't even be called a naked bike 😑

    Great review, I owned one for a year, put nearly 11,000 miles on it and just a fantastic motorcycle. Now riding the 2016 Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory which might be even more exciting than the s1000r!

    I fully agree. I have the '16 s1000r and ride in in Texas, and with the roads here in Houston, it's remarkably comfortable. I like the power, so I can pull away from all the trucks, out here to kill me.
    I am ok with the sound, after I put on a Akra slip-on, but I love the Austin exhaust you have. That's what I am going to do. Thanks for the tip!

    Really want to remove the CAT but worried it will ruin the mid-range torque. I'd be grateful if you could offer some advice on what you did RJ.

    • @royaljordanian
      @royaljordanian  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you remove it's best to fit a PCV and a remap, before the pcv, accelerate hard and I would say, quick, after tuning, accelerate and I would say, holy shit. You can see the dyno graphs on my website.

    Beautiful bike. I'm in the process of deciding if I want the extra expense of monthly payments to own something so amazingly savage, yet supremely usable.
    Every summer I travel the US and North America on a Honda VFR, and I too find that 150(ish) miles between stops is about perfect. The five minutes the entire process takes is a great refresh, and (as important) an easy way to tell if more rest is needed.

    I totally agree with you. I never would chose the S1000R in first place, because for me the front looks to ugly. BUT as my bike was in service i got her as loan bike.. and boy was it a pleasure to ride her. Like you said she drives like nothing else i have ever ridden before and on top of that the lovely sound, even of the stock exhaust. And when you riding her you don't have to see the front! ;)

      asymmetrical design, even the right and left fairings are asymmetrical

    • @doubdoesntknow
      @doubdoesntknow 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Europe there is commonly laws about day running lights and high beams. This is BMW's idea of using those as inspiration (I know where I live it is not allowed for bikes to have both low and high on at same time) for their headlights. It is all just a design of day running light and high beam light, might be some thought behind the way it lights up road as well but all in all its all just new thinking :). You can look at the S1000rr as well and see teh way they have done it on that bike as well

    Awesome vid RJ. I can't get enough of that bikes sound in your vids. The nuda and the s1000r sound amazing in different ways.
    If they're linked brakes....one would slightly twist the throttle while slowly letting go of the right brake lever? as opposed to slowly getting of the rear brake pedal as you feel the bike pulling?

    "And you don't want to see that in your rear-view mirror". I like a lot this video! I was waiting for it! Can I ask you, which is your average consumption? I am around 6.3-6.7 L/100. Brakes and sound are absolutely fantastic!
    The only think makes me nervous is quickshifter between 2nd and 3rd gear... I feel it so rough... The other ones are very smooth. Are you experimenting the same feeling? Cheers from Barcelona !

    • @royaljordanian

    I am aware you don't like to tell people what to buy, but I am seriously considering a 2015 S1000Rs, my concern is it has 31,000 miles on the clock, albeit with full service history and from a dealership for peace of mind, but I wanted to know how many miles you've put on yours and have you had any issues? Also, are you aware of anything specific to look for other than the normal things when viewing/test riding? Cheers.

    Out of all your bikes which one do you recommend to a new biker who has never riding one? You can also recommend other bike you don't have.

      Owain 199 Isn't the Grom a little small for someone who is 6 feet 2?

      Not really, Rj isn't small, JaketheGardenSnake has one hes also tall. I choose that out of his bikes because the S1000, ktm and the Nuda would get you into trouble very fast. The Dt's are too rare for someone new to potentially ruin IMO. The SMR might be a good choice but it also has incredibly fast acceleration, not ideal for a first time rider.
      A dirtbike is a good start to learn the basics. That's how I started then moved to a Honda Varadero XL 125 at 16

      Check out CFmoto, they are like a clone of KTM. They just updated their NK range of bikes and they are quite a lot cheaper then KTM with similar features and quality.

    How about a comparism between the bmw and the ktm? Would be very interesting from an owner perspective.

    RJ, have you ever heard of the "real" RS? They are quite rare, my friend has one.
